- Whynot (5/5): Horrible coffee in Kurig so could not make our own. - Location; pet friendly No elevator, and we were not told. Partying at 3AM in the inn woke us up. The bathroom fan did not work. The coffee was horrible.
- Gagoska (10/5): -
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceeded expectations -
- Eva (2/5): - Proximity to mountain Everything else
- wendy (9/5): - Breakfast?? wasn't aware if there was breakfast rooms comfortable and clean that's all i look for
- Kyle Laird (9/5): Perfect skiing accommodations - Fresh cookies, hot chocolate, care free experience

- Amy (2/5): There are better options in town - The location is close to the slopes. The AC/heating system is updated. New large screen TVs mounted on the walls. I first thought this was a good price for a midweek budget hotel right at the base of the ski resort, however, I didn't realize how many services would be unavailable. No staff to check anyone in. A line of people were at the desk and after calling the customer service number they told us we had to drive over to The Grand Summit hotel to get our key cards. If your key card didn't work or you needed anything for your room, you would be driving back and forth. I didn't know where my room was located so I was wandering around the hotel with all my luggage for a bit. I don't think there's an elevator, there was no one to ask so I can't be sure. There was no shuttle to get to the base lodges, I had to drive my car over to the lodge every morning. There's no breakfast options. Most of the restaurants are closed midweek, even in the town of Bethel so not a lot of food options. I drove into town for breakfast every day. I kept hearing about these amazing chocolate chip cookies, but they're also not available midweek. Thursday afternoon they did a hot cocoa bar. They didn't clean the hotel until Thursday afternoon. When I arrived the floors were filthy and obviously hadn't been vacuumed in awhile, the lobby trash was overflowing, large insects were flying around, and the hot tub was overflowing with foam. The foam completely covered the top of the water and was piling up into foam mountains. Usually that means too many people didn't shower before going in and the dirt/oils from their skin overwhelmed the sanitizing system. I didn't go in because of that, but I did notice they skimmed the foam out on Thursday afternoon. Also, if you're a light sleeper DO NOT stay here. The walls are so thin that anyone within 2 rooms near, under or above you can be heard. I kept waking up multiple times between 3-6am because the pipes would groan loudly when people were showering/using the bathroom. Bathroom was the size of a stall.
- Edouard (9/5): -
- Mark (9/5): Great skiing and great stay - The staff was great. Especially the hot chocolate chips cookies after skiing Close to the mountain and great beds
- Olena (8/5): - Clean rooms, nice cozy common area with fresh cookies and hot coco. Coffee is very good, in yhe rooms and in common area. Convenient shuttle that takes you to multiple base lodges. No microwave in rooms
- William (8/5): Met expectations 100%; proximity to Sunday River ideal; definitely would stay again - Breakfast not available...coffee (make your own Keurig) supplied in room was great!! Unfortunately some noise (music) from room next door was audible
- Brenden (8/5): - I liked the hot tub and the view of the mountain side of the hotel Only thing was weird was the shower didn’t work
- Eric (1/5): -
- Danielle (10/5): - Close parking, easy unloading, cookies, muffins, smores, hot tub, board games
- Tammy (10/5): -
- Roy (10/5): -
- Otto (6/5): Decent place with access to Sunday River - Location to ski area is good for the money No staff. Had to drive about a mile away to another facility to check in. Fortunately I could check out on my phone. Also this place was famous for its evening chocolate chip cookies. No staff meant no cookies 😟
- Charles (10/5): -
- Doyle (8/5): Nice clean basic hotel close to the slopes. -
- Stan (8/5): Cozy. - Very convenient to the Barker lodge The rooms are smallish, the bathrooms are tiny. The rooms in general are rather dated
- ginamaria (9/5): Good value and friendly staff. - Location is great just next to Sunday River. Staff friendly and always willing to help. Like the cookies/hot cocoa in the afternoons, as well as free coffee and muffins in the morning. Shuttle to Sunday River was unreliable. Both times had to ask other staff for help to get any shuttle that could take us there or back.
- Christopher (9/5): - Location is great--walking distance or free shuttle to the mountain base.
Hot tub is terrific. Cookies and hot chocolate were great too. The staff is not present mid-week, and one has to contact a different nearby hotel for assistance. We didn't need anything, so it was fine for us, but we really benefitted from an on-site staff member at check-in over the weekend.
- Valerie (10/5): Good location, great for kids. - Cozy, close to the mountain. Has a ski shuttle and outdoor hot tub. Checking in, made us drive to another location to get our key because no one was at the front desk.
- Rinay (9/5): -
- Alan (9/5): -
- Ana Liza (10/5): - Ambiente agradável, limpo e organizadoz
- Christine (10/5): -
- Roberta (7/5): Piacevole atmosfera montana - Bellissima hall in stile montano con uno splendido camino in pietra, ottima accoglienza con angolo caffè sempre a disposizione con cookies eccezionali.
stanza pulita e confortevole, letto molto comodo. Il bagno è minuscolo al punto che il lavabo è in camera.
Pareti sottilissime che fanno passare tutti i rumori. Si sentiva il cell del vicino vibrare.
- Jeremy (10/5): Honestly, we were pleasantly surprised by how cozy the hotel was. The staff was very welcoming. We appreciated the fresh - Cozy atmosphere and it was relatively quiet when we went. Beds could have been a bit softer.
- ramkumar (10/5): -
- Lynn (10/5): - Great muffins and staff!
- Pat (6/5): - No front desk personnel after 6pm-not explained during reservation.
Key secured at adjacent property; key didn’t work, so had to put luggage back in car and drive back to adjacent property for new key.
Phone number shown at front desk to seek help didn’t forward, so no means to seek help or report any emergency.
Thermostat fan disabled, so no air movement without playing with heat/cool settings. Significant deodorizer smell to mask mustiness; very difficult to sleep.
Cookies left out in lobby, nice touch, but uncovered; better if individually placed in zip-lock bag to maintain sanitary status.
Hotel designed for ski season; trying to draw business in off season. Long overdue refresh needed. Major issue with safety & security with no on-site personnel.
Upon check out we did receive a lower rate to overcome drawbacks.
- Mary (4/5): - The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Room was in great need of updating and repairs.
- Kyle (8/5): - The facility was clean and well maintained. We arrived early evening and the front desk had closed. It was necessary to drive to another property to get our room keys. They did not work so we had to go back for another set. They were very polite but it was inconvenient. Also, it is a multilevel property without an elevator. They had tasty muffins for breakfast.
- Cynthia (10/5): - Wonderful staff who greeted us and our golden retriever with both smiles and doggie treats. The fresh-baked chocolate cookies were scrumptious and the morning muffins quite yummy. The hotel is cozy with its decor. Highly recommend.
- Chelinda (6/5): - The carpet had a strong odor. We had to check in after 8pm in the grand hotel, the front desk person although helpful seemed to be very stressed. There should be clear information of how to get to the Snow Cap Inn from the hotel. The room was very warm and the thermostat did not function correctly.
- Jaime (5/5): It was nice but you could make it excellent by updating the bathrooms and having good beds and doing something about noi - Nice decorations Bed was lumpy, bathroom needs an update, walls are too thin, you can hear the next room.
- Maria Virginia (10/5): - Safe, quiet, clean, friendly staff
- Daphne (10/5): - Great hot tub
- ana (10/5): - We loved how nice the staff was. Especially with our dog. The room has everything you'd need. It was spacious, clean and well kept. Overall, amazing value for money spent.
The property itself does not have a lot of the extra amenities some people might need if they are staying long (breakfast, pool etc) but it is perfect for a weekend getaway or stop during a road trip. We went during peak foliage season but I can imagine if going during ski season, you'd be in a perfect location without the hefty costs of the local resorts.
- michael (10/5): - It was a wonderful time
- Mary (8/5): Our overnight stay - Our first impression was not great as when we arrived at the hotel there was no one at the desk just a sign to go to one of their other hotels down the road to check in. So we got back in the car and drove down the road to check in during which I had the surprise dropped on me that even though I had paid for our room in full when I booked it that there was a $50 hold that needed to put on the room for incidentals which would be totally fine if I had known about this when booking the room. Then I was told it would be put back on my card after checking out but there could be a 7-10 day hold on the refund depending on the bank. The room was nice just as pictured on the site. The beds were just a little uncomfortable and we couldn’t get the ac to keep the room cool. The next morning when we went to check out again no one at the desk just a few room keys other guest had left on the counter. I normally like to check out with someone so I know they have received my key back. The area was very pretty. So over all I guess it was about a 60/40 stay. I think if in the area again maybe we would give this hotel another chance.
- Laura (6/5): - We were moved to a different hotel, but did not receive notification of the change. The Snow Cap Inn was completed quiet and nobody at front desk when we arrived.
- John (4/5): - Check in was totally confusing, had to make several phone calls to finally figure out where we were staying. Communication with the property was Bismil at best. For being a resort, it was not overly impressive.
- Olga (6/5): - When we reached the hotel, there was no one at front desk. Luckily there was a hotel guest passing by and I asked and he mentioned I had to go to the main hotel Grand Summit hotel. The staff at the main hotel was friendly. But it almost seems they receive guests that already know where everything is at. I felt a bit lost. you have to get in the car to drive to the main hotel, but how was I supposed to know that? if it wasn't for the hotel guest, I don't know what would've happened. The phones I had were not responding.
- Matt (10/5): - Great spot. Up for the Tough Mountain race. Easy walk to South Ridge lodge.
Would stay again for sure! Best rate in the area!
- Jennifer (10/5): - Snow Cap Inn was perfect!! My husband and I stayed here for one night in March for a last minute ski trip to Sunday River. The rooms were clean and cute. Loved the hot chocolate station and the warm choc chip cookies! Staff was so friendly and nice, will definitely be back!
- Selvakumar (10/5): -
- Patricia (10/5): Hidden Gem in the Summer - What a terrific stay I had with my dog Gus. They not only allow pets they welcome them! The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I can't say enough good things about this place.
- Natalie (10/5): - Great experience & staff!
- Eusebio (8/5): - The staff was very helpful friendly and nice people. The beds are super comfortable, and cozy.
- Govar (10/5): - Excellent location. Very nice and friendly front desk staff. Very clean rooms with nice coffee and free baked goods. Very comfortable stay for a great price.
- Rozzi (5/5): Too much bling for very little zing - It's close to the lifts It's dated and looks like a college dorm or frat house. I expected better for the price. Can you say 1990s ?
- Darcy (6/5): Perfect for a quick visit to go skiing and budget friendly - Perfect distance to mountain
- Ted (10/5): - Great quick and easy place to stay at Sunday River! Great staff and conveinent.
- Adam (7/5): Good -
- Matthew (10/5): - Near slopes and great for price.
- Abigail (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (10/5): - very convenient place to stay close to local restaurants
- Marissa (10/5): - Convenient
- Paul (10/5): - Front desk personnel were amazing
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place to relax - The staff was very friendly and helpful.
- altina (10/5): - Close to ski station, they have shuttle, very friendly environment- Tina/Boston
- constance (10/5): - The staff is top notch. Went out of their way to help with any and all of my needs. I injured myself and could have cut short my stay but I was enjoying my stay so much that I opted to stay.
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (10/5): Happy skier - Perfect for a weekend ski trip!! On the mountain access road mountain shuttle to all their ski base lodges.
- David (10/5): - There were some nice items offered in the lobby...fresh baked cookies and muffins, mocktail, coffee, tea...nice touch! Thank you...
- Philippe (6/5): Adequate for the price - Perfectly located, cheaply built poorly maintained. Folks at the desk are pleasant and friendly, linens are clean, coffee and muffins in the a.m.
Parking was a muddy mess, not marked out, so not enough spaces for guests. Got stuck trying to circle around.
- Kasia (8/5): - The staff is very friendly. Cabin nice and quaint. Nice lobby area.
- john (10/5): - No frills lodging close near the mountain. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay
- Randalll (10/5): Spring fun! - The experience was great. The accommodations and customer service was very good. Staff was professional and friendly.
- Donna (10/5): - Wonderful stay, convenient to Sunday River!
- Mary Beth (10/5): Snow Cap Stay - I was very surprised at how nice the interior of the building was and the hot tub and fire pit area too. Love all the extras in the lobby hot chocolate bar, drinks, cookies out of the oven. all very nice
- James (10/5): - Perfect budget option at Sunday River. Loved it
- monte (10/5): - Elise was excellent and made our stay extra enjoyable she is an asset to Boyne and to sunday river.....we will return!!
- Meghna (10/5): - Cookies and smores in the evening. Blueberry muffin in the morning. Lovely hot tub. You can walk to white cap if you want but plenty of shuttles. What’s not to like? Rooms are a bit dated - our bathroom door for example had peeling wood - but clean and comfortable.
- Timothy (10/5): - Good value
- Larisa (6/5): - We liked the location, coffee and muffins in the morning was nice. Front desk people were helpful and friendly.
Bed was comfortable and hut tub after sking all day was great. First night in the hotel was peaceful and quiet but the second one turned out to be a full surprise.
Large group of people that checked in that day returned after dinner. They were very loud and some parents complained because their children had a ski race early morning and were not able to sleep because of the noise. It sounded like a big fight so they woke me up also. After couple hours it finally was quiet again.
Another thing Id like to mention is the hut tub.
How many people can hang out there drinking beer and other alcohol for hours?
Was it meant to be alcohol drinking hang out spot?
I hope those couple things could be corrected so people that come to Sunday River to ski could enjoy their stay at this hotel.
- Erin (10/5): Very comfortable- Great value - Everything I needed for a great price! Excellent location and hospitality. The employees made all the difference with their caring attitude and attention to detail. Hot cocoa bar, coffee and spritzer drink stations were a nice surprise. Hot tub was a good size. Strong hot shower, comfortable beds, water station to refill bottles and other creature comforts made us decide to stay here again in the future. Please be aware there is no elevator.
- Becky (8/5): Very good - Staff was very nice, clean rooms, comfy beds Bathroom very small
- Katherine (10/5): - Great plave to stay!
- Peter (8/5): - Location is great. Close to mountain. Even has a shuttle bus. Nice lobby and rooms are nicely appointed. Snow removal of parking lot isn't always good. Overall good value.
- Patrick (8/5): - Perfect stay for skiing @ Sunday River. A little loud but that's to be expected for vacation week!
- Barbara Guyette (8/5): - The people were all lovely and it was fine. The rooms are outdated.
- Stacey (8/5): - Great location to Ski area! Loved the added touches in the lobby each day with chocolate chip cookie, muffins, hot coco bar and s'more bar in the evening. Hot tub and out door fire pits were very nice. Staff very friendly!
The parking lot got very icy and we both had a fall one evening. Great place all in all!
- Matthew (10/5): - Great stay. Front desk is the best. Will definitely stay here again!
- Brittany (10/5): - Super relaxed and friendly staff. Couldn’t have asked for a better check in experience after a long ride.
- Peter (10/5): - Very nice property and rooms make for a nice stay. Rooms are comfortable and quiet! Staff is helpful and courteous! Convenient to base of mountain.
- Rebecca (10/5): - For an older facility, everything was spotless! Two-levels of lounging both with a big stone fireplace and family games stocked at the tables(we played Monopoly in big beautiful camp theme wood chairs by the fire after taking a dip in the hot tub; fresh baked cookies all day, hot chocolate “bar” with so many toppings, Smores station for the fire pits on the patio with the large hot tub! The staff makes me you feel like you are guests in their “home” - very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfy and the rooms are no frills but have plenty of floor space/elbow room for lugging in bags of ski gear for a family of four (we had a room with 2 queen beds). We were given fresh towels within moments of requesting them. Less experience than the other lodging options in the same area so we were very surprised at what a gem this place is considering it doesn’t look fancy or anything from the outside. Will absolutely stay here again.
- Brooks (8/5): Very good -
- Riana (10/5): - Everyone that worked there was nice, they met all your needs when you had questions or concerns.
- Paul (10/5): - Nice place to stay and ski Transportation to the mountain was key
- Marketa (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay! The nice touches/extras and friendly staff made it shine in comparison.
- Slim (7/5): Good - Location They did not have (lost?) the keys to the ski locker for my room. All rooms are supposed to have access to ski lockers
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The Snow Cap Inn has a great staff that maintains a positive attitude despite being understaffed and over tasked. The facilities are a little well worn.
- Christina (10/5): - Such wonderful staff. Felt like being at home.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Clean, friendly and COOKIES! - Awesome stay! Clean, friendly, convenient! And omg the smell of cookies every afternoon!
