Guest Reviews
- arlene (10/5): Great place - Nice big, clean rooms. Very quiet. They have luggage carts up front to use, very convenient. Good breakfast. Plenty of tables in the morning. Nothing
- Christine (9/5): Fijn verblijf in schoon hotel. - De ligging
- Benjamin (10/5): I'd stay again, you should too - The bed was ideal softness, room was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay. Barely worth mentioning, only complaint is hot breakfast meat option was always sausage, maybe put bacon into the rotation.

- weimin (9/5): - The breakfasts are good. Daily coffee and hot water are not valuable all the time.
- Duane (8/5): Not worth the money. Will look into a cabin next time. - The location and parking The room service is much to be desired. The Continental breakfast was very undesirable the same thing starting back after the 3rd day, cool food
- Babette (10/5): -
- Tia (10/5): Nice clean hotel and a great price - The staff were amazing! Great location and clean Nothing
- Margaret (9/5): -
- Morgan (10/5): The stay was wonderful! - The property was clean and well organized. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable! The staff was nice and was able to answer/ help with any questions I had. The luggage trolley had a wheel that was coming apart and made it difficult to use.
- Sreenivas (8/5): -
- Kristina (9/5): Stayed three nights and had a great stay. - Breakfast was great and offered hot choices.
Location was great to visit area sites.
Comfortable bed. Nice pool and hot tub. Pantry where you could purchase food items and snacks at reasonable prices. Everything was good.
- Tinyee (3/5): Poor breakfast choices. Was told comfort mngt directs. Needs renovation. - Staff Breakfast was horrible. Powder eggs and sugary cereal. Only oranges. We had to go to grocery store to purchase oatmeal packets. We travelled with cooler so we had cream cheese and bagels which we had for breakfast. We brought bananas. The bathroom door did not stay open so we had to prop it open . The litio. Dispenser was glued to the bathroom wall and it fell in middle of night. Frightened us. It was glued on and it fell again. Wi-Fi was hit and miss. Warm water in shower several times. No mats for slippery shower. Risk to falling. We spent lots of $ for a cheap stay.
- Clay (10/5): Great place to stay & will return next time we're in the area. - Amazing breakfast, friendly staff, pool & staff was awesome & the room was relaxing with comfortable beds. Nothing I could think of.
- Sidney (5/5): - Location Had to wait an hour to check-in no staff at front desk đ

- Corihi (8/5): Clean, Comfortable Hotel in Great Location - We spent three nights at the Comfort Inn in room 304. I believe the hotel is the newest hotel in Hill City. It looked new and our room was clean and comfortable. The one downside was that the bathtub was very slippery. Bath mats wouldâve been helpful. I used the laundry room, and it was very clean. We had daily housekeeping, which is not the norm these days. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
Amenities included complimentary breakfast, wi-fi, a game room, pool and fitness center. We were not able to utilize the free breakfast as we left early on two mornings. However, on the day that we intended to eat breakfast, there was nowhere to sit. Guests were actually sitting in the lobby with plates on their laps. Extra seating should be provided when the hotel is full. We did not utilize the game room, pool or fitness center.
The hotel is close to Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park and other attractions. It was a good place to use as a base for exploring the Black Hills. We also saw deer and turkeys from our window.
- marcialT8104GV (10/5): Overall excellent facility! - The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. Our only complaint was the coffee. It did not taste or smell like coffee should!
- Jenny (10/5): -
- Patsy (10/5): -
- Jeremy Wayne (10/5): - Friendly staff, amenities as expected.
- Kara (10/5): - Pool was awesome.
- Carie (10/5): - Breakfast was not kept up with Staff was overwhelmed with a wedding in town and could not keep up
- Susan (10/5): - Very pleased with this hotel. Room was clean and perfect size. Breakfast was great and the hostess was very good about keeping everything stocked.
- Robert (8/5): - Breakfast was poor at best. Scrambled eggs were watery. Orange juice was watery. Coffee was watery. It was like management tried to stretch breakfast items to safe pennies per serving. Not OK. Everything else at hotel was fine.
- Jerome (10/5): - Daily room service terrific
- Nancy (10/5): - The rooms are very large, clean and comfortable
- Jesse (10/5): - Nice clean room "off the main drag"....quiet and close to all the things we intended to do around the black hills....
- Julia Ann (10/5): - Outstanding stay
- Damon (9/5): - Great place to stay and fairly central to most things room was really nice and comfortable
- Margaret (10/5): - Convenient to places I wanted to visit.
- Lori (10/5): - Just a short drive to Mount Rushmore. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, had decent breakfast.
- Mary (8/5): - All okay
- Thomas (9/5): Great value, but eat breakfast elsewhere. - Standard Comfort Inn with all the economical features, cheap but good for a night or two. Just don't eat there! Breakfast was even worse than usual in a cheap hotel. We tried one morning, then went out the other days. Bad coffee & juice, mystery eggs, processed muffins, no healthy cereal.
- Norden (10/5): It was truly a blessing.hotel was clean bed was comfortable and the desk service was absolutely kind and helpful we wil - The whole place was absolutely beautiful and very/very clean. The bed was comfortable and the desk service was nice. Especially Gabriella she was a sweetheart. Thank you again for all your help! Everything it was absolutely beautiful â€ïž
- Phil (8/5): - It was a great location for seeing Mount Rushmore and the many other sights in South Dakota's Black Hills. Staff was also very friendly and helpful The breakfast could have been better. Not really sure the eggs were really eggs. More fruit selection, something besides just oranges. Biscuits and gravy would have been nice
- Scott (9/5): Great location and a well-managed property - Clean, comfortable room, and the breakfast options were very good. The staff was very friendly and responsive Small flying bugs constantly coming out of the bathtub overflow. The staff gave me spray that was effective, but every time I checked there were 5 or 6 more. My only real criticism is ONE SINGLE COFFEE POT, to serve all the guests. Everyone has to stand on line. When it had an issue, there was no backup, so everyone had to wait while it was fixed, while many guests just opted to continue their day & pay for coffee somewhere.
- DANIEL (9/5): Very good - Everything was what I expected.
- Shellie (10/5): - EXCELLENT property, seemingly secluded yet within a short walk to the wonderful downtown area where it us still 'season,' so everything is open, still. Leave your car parked at hotel, then walk over to 1880 Train-ride to/from Keystone; or, get dinner out at 1885 Steakhouse or Alpine Inn; or, have charcuterie & barrel-dispensed wine at With the Wind winery. EXCELLENT STAFF at desk, and in food prep. for full breakfast at hotel dining area. (I ate egg-omlette on a waffle, and it was great!) EXCELLENT selection of pillows, with very clean linens. Clean hallways, and great room. Ample 'private' parking (at no extra charge).
- David (6/5): -
- Quit (8/5): - Everything was good
- sarah (8/5): - Convenient location in Hill City. Easy ride to area attractions e.g. Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park, etc.
- Ruth (10/5): - Washer & Dryers were awesome!
- Johnna (10/5): - The staff was wonderful.
- Larry (8/5): - Nice room
- Emily (10/5): - Rooms and common areas were clean, staff were friendly and hotel overall felt safe, and in a decent location. Exceeded our expectations!
- Greg (8/5): - The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The hot water took a long time and wasn't very hot. Breakfast was ok, wish it was better quality.
- Derek (10/5): - great location and clean hotel.
- MIchael (8/5): - We found a larger than normal amount of bugs in our room, I believe it's probably seasonal but non the less a little annoying. Most the room was clean so it was ok
- Cindy (10/5): - Everything was ok except the pillows I feel need to be laundered or replaced as they smelled like oily hair. Breakfast was very good and assessibility was good!
- Sharon (10/5): - Clean, comfortable room,friendly staff
- Gerald (10/5): Excellent - Very clean. Staff was courteous.
- David (9/5): -
- KAYLEEN (8/5): - The outside could be cleaned up. Flower beds were full of weeds and fake flowers in the flower pots.
- Tezza (8/5): Good spot for a visit to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial - Was great for a 1 night stopover
- Robert (10/5): Great stay Everything was wonderful - Great Location for Utv Riding Nothing
- Thomas (8/5): - Hotel is quiet, clean, great launch point for places to see. Only complaint is it took a long, maybe 10 minutes, for the shower to get warm. Once warm, showers that followed were fine. Just that initial shower took too long to heat up.
- Nichole (6/5): - Quaint location. Clean. Breakfast was a little disappointing
- Glenda (10/5): 20th Anniversary S.D. Vacation - The facility was nicely maintained and our room was very clean. The night before we stayed in a different city and different hotel chain that was very unpleasant. I was leery about our room conditions and the clerk went out of her way to show us the room to make sure that I was satisfied. Needless to say, I was very pleased and we would definitely stay there again.
- Vikki (8/5): - Clean room and surroundings. We did not like the fact that our room was in the basement by the pool. Expedia did not mention that when we reserved our room. It was a god room but the smell of clorine was a little off putting. For $185 a day I think we deserved a room not in the basement.
- ARTHUR (8/5): - No
- Ronda (10/5): - Easy check-ins. Very clean hotel. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning our room, and we were happy to see they cleaned the room every day of our stay.
- Vicki (10/5): - We stayed for 4 nights. The room was OK but the bathroom didn't always seem clean
- Donald (6/5): - It was good
- George (1/5): Comfort Inn unfair to veterans - I don't like being charged $250.00 because someone said they smelled smoke from cigarettes. Neither one of us smoke and don't appreciate being called a liar when I called to enquire why I was charged an extra $250.00 without any proof I smoked in the room. I am a disabled veteran and I am posting on every social medium I can that you don't do anything to help veterans to stay at any comfort inn. In fact you don't want veterans staying there at all. I hope all veterans boycott all comfort inns. Hope you have a lousy day.

- Lisa (10/5): - It was a good hotel.
- Lorraine (8/5): - The hotel in general, in addition to the room, was very clean. The bed was comfortable, and the hotel was quiet.
- Beck (8/5): -
- Susan (6/5): - Property was clean enough, but 9 tables to accommodate the whole place for breakfast just doesn't cut it. People done eating but chatting or playing on their phones. Not enough space
- Cathy (8/5): - Check in at the hotel was great. The property was close to several dining options. Room was clean. Check out there was no one at the front desk, called the phone number and no one answered. No place to drop keys off. Left them in the room.
- Roger (10/5): -
- Brenda (10/5): Best hotel of our ten day trip! Mario let us check in a few minutes early and was very nice!! - Clean, comfortable quiet! NothingâŠeverything was perfect!
- Steven (10/5): -
- Milos (6/5): Could be perfect not there yet - Hotel is nice enough, there are a few things i didn't like. First positive: front desk people were nice, breakfast was very good, pool and spa are nice enough little older but not in bad shape. Rooms are nice we had king size suits, couch was little worn and uncomfortable, bathrooms are nice and big. I noticed lightning is not as strong in the bathroom and water pressure is not strong. Also no body wash you get a bar of soap. Some people might not like that. I didn't know this otherwise I would bring my body wash.
Lobby was nice with lemon and regular water. Lots of seating are.
Stuff I didn't like are wifi was very very bad, not usable. Im a memeber too and it didn't matter. At least in our room 308 it was pretty bad I had to use my 5G. Water pressure was weak, and we also got charged a destination fee afterwords on my card. I would preferred to know that before I get charged. It also can help you get a better hotel if youre trying to save $10. Im not sure if thats all hotels but we are SD residents. Overall it was positive stay besides wifi which might be a deal breaker for me to come back to this hotel. Also they had a hot line 800 number to call if you have wifi issues. Yeah I don't have time to call 800 number im on vacation.
- Lisa (9/5): -
- Kevin (8/5): - Great hotel. The hotel was clean and the rooms were roomy and nice.
- Ryan (10/5): - Different breakfast would be nice. It was the same everyday. No sausage or biscuit and gravy.
- Thomas (8/5): - Enjoyed our stay
- Carla (10/5): - The property was cleaned inside and out. The staff was very polite and friendly. The location was simple to locate and park. It was a beautiful drive to all the attractions.
- Wayne (10/5): - Water pressure in the shower
- Jordan (8/5): We really enjoyed our stay there and would recommend to families - Overall clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was good. Toilet wasnât working properly.
- Bruce (10/5): - Property was great and would stay there again. Front desk staff should spend less time on their phones and look up and greet you as you come in.
- Gianluca (7/5): -
- Kathryn (10/5): We love Comfort Inn! - We love Comfort Inn! Comfortable, clean, and friendly. The only note we'd give is that the breakfast was not great. But otherwise we had a fantastic stay.
- David (10/5): - Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Good breakfast, good pool.
- Cheryl (10/5): - Room was big and comfortable. Nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast was hot and varied over several days.
- Bonnie (10/5): - The hotel property is new and very well maintained. The beds were very comfortable and clean. We did not hear any noise from other rooms.
Each room has a window cooling/heating unit that provides white noise and allows you to set the room temperature to your liking.
The breakfast could really use an upgrade. The eating area was clean but the options weren't great. There were no bagels or muffin options, only bread. The cereal options were also very limited. No fresh fruit and yhe orange juice was very weak.
Other than the breakfast, i would highly recommend this hotel
