Guest Reviews
- Cuauhtemoc (8/5): -
- Yuri (9/5): -
- Stefan (7/5): Cool location, rude staff - The location is very nice. I could walk to all interesting spots. They charged my credit card for the whole stay even though I already paid for my stay via booking.com and when I asked the receptionist why did she charge my credit card she was a bit rude and very sure that I haven’t paid for my room. After showing her my receipt from booking, she didn’t even apologize, not to mention that I still haven’t received money back.
- Ruth (8/5): - The flavored waters in the lobby. The free welcome drink. Good location to get around the city. Beds were comfy. 1 elevator was out of order the whole stay; I wish the website noted up charge for large vehicle parking at the garage. Not sure where you’re supposed to use the yoga mat in the room if you wanted to stream a workout to the tv.
- Héctor (1/5): -
- Birgit (9/5): Modern, clean and well functioning hotel - Good gym Very «thin» coffee in the room
- Katherine (7/5): I enjoyed my stay. Nothing fancy but it was comfortable for the most part. - Convenient location close to Grand Central. Fairly large and clean room. Casual lobby with food and bar. On site gym and yoga mat and bands in room is a nice touch. Very dark room. Needs more lighting. No water or ice on the floor I was on.
- Ivana (10/5): -
- Christine (10/5): All good - Everything. Proximity to Grand Central where we had an event. Great neighborhood restaurant/bars very close. Hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. N/A
- Dina (8/5): -
- Edoardo (10/5): Great! - The staff is great! I love to stay here every time I'm in NY. The location is great, the hotel is all that you need in NYC!
- Roosmarie (9/5): - Locatie Niets
- Michael Hugh (7/5): Ok - Why is US$30 separately charged per day? Does Booking.com alert its users to this? Is this just another US plead for a tip?!
- Christopher (9/5): - Location
- Dorota (9/5): -
- Sophie (9/5): -
- Louise (9/5): Right location clean room nice breakfast - Room was very clean The price of room was a bit expensive
- Katharine (9/5): Modern, clean, comfortable - recommend - The hotel is super clear, very comfortable, modern and well located. It's very good value for money compared to other 4 start hotels in the area that are more dated, less convenient, etc. The bar is nice, the staff are great, the bathroom was new and clean and the rooms are comfortable (though not large). For some reason my room didn't have a fridge, despite there clearly being space for one in the design, which was inconvenient and disappointing.
- Akitada (10/5): -
- Cherelyn (9/5): -
- Nana (10/5): - Exceptional service for resionable price. Appreciated the fact that they checked me in early. Nothing
- Chanakarn (8/5): -
- Stephen (7/5): Good but not great - $5 happy hour was great, as was Alden the barman who was fab to chat to.
Included breakfast wasn't bad, especially the waffle.
Rooms were clean if a little small.
Location is good for Midtown/Grand Central area. We had two rooms and emailed twice months in advance to have either connecting rooms or at least 2 on the same floor. But when we arrived, they put us on different floors. We did manage to move to the same floor a day later but it was inconvenient. Reception staff didn't seem to care much.
- Barry (8/5): - Location was good. Lifts took a long time.
- Kyrion (10/5): -
- Flavio (9/5): -
- Elizabeth (9/5): pleasantly surprised. checked all the boxes - Walking distance to Grand Central station and the United Nations all good
- Catherine (8/5): Great location, perfect amenities for short work stay - This was my second stay and I thought it was better than last time - bigger room, large bathroom. Everyone on staff was great. The welcome drink gave me an opportunity to meet some other people staying there. Gym is quite large by NYC standards and I love the yoga equipment in the room. And they wash your gym clothes for delivery the next day - loved this. Location is excellent, near lots of food options, and near FedEx and Walgreens. Elevators got progressively worse as the trip went on - multiple breaking down. I would love to see more sustainability options in the room or hotel, such as reusable cups for your stay instead of the plastic wrapped cups. The overhead showerhead was a little dirty but luckily there was a handheld shower available too.
- Isabella (9/5): Very pleasant hotel in a great location - Nice room, love the resistance cords in the room. Very clean! Comfortable bed! Beautiful new bathroom!
Very pleasant lobby with many tables! Great location! Very quiet, you don't hear any traffic from the city! Good value! Definitely would come back! Like of privacy with open shade, therefore no natural light at room 604. I would suggest a shade that gives you privacy but also lets the natural light come in to the room. Doors are not soundproof. You can hear other guests open the door. It almost feels like someone is trying to get to your room.

- GrandTour25598278674 (6/5): Return visit - but we’ll go elsewhere in future - We returned having stayed in Dec 2024 for Jo’s 40th birthday. We loved it and felt like we were valued as guests. This year we did 4 days in Washington DC before taking the train to NYC for a further 4 days and we picked the Even Midtown again because we enjoyed it so much last time around.
Whilst not much has changed we didn’t feel the same warm welcome. We were disappointed by the assistance from the front desk - especially regarding a late checkout. We asked on Day 1 and were told we would need to check the night before leaving. Then we were told we would need to ask on the morning of departure - and when I did that I was told the hotel was ‘fully booked’ but we could have an extra hour (absolutely no use whatsoever) but if I wanted I could pay for an extra night - err…. If you’re ’fully booked’ so you can’t give me until Noon/1pm how can you find me an extra night.
Last time around they gave us a drink token for each night we had booked - this time around just 1 token each … we thought we would save it for our check out, have a drink when we returned to collect our bags - only when we arrived the guy at the bar said it was closed and didn’t open until 4pm, so that was that.
Whilst the room was clean and no complaints about the amenities, and whilst it is ideally located for Midtown and all that it offers (especially proximity to Grand Central) - I don’t think we will be back.
- Chandra (10/5): -
- Nenita (9/5): - Location
- Brynhildur (8/5): -
- Naum (3/5): -
- Michael Gozdecki (10/5): -
- Madeleine (4/5): Ok - Nice art work Small room for a family of 4. Not much storage space. Receptionist not very helpful or welcoming
- Matt123Houma (8/5): “Thank you” is appreciated - A simple “thank you” after a three-night stay from the desk on Sunday morning, April 5 would have been appropriate.
- Tetsuro (9/5): -
- Iryna (8/5): -
- Timbledeebobs (8/5): Even-stevens score for here. - BREAKFAST VOUCHERS. Huh? 3 guests, 2 vouchers, 3rd person (child) pays. Shrugs. Food is good. Voucher system seemingly works via the ethereal plain.
Room. Clean & tidy but no space- if you’re travelling with a carry-on or hold-all, fine. 2 or 3 large suitcases = live out of them as no hanging space. Ok for 2 people, 3 is a squeeze (2 adults + 16y.o.).
Tip: Ask for a kettle. Coffee in room isn’t good; sorry, its not. Keurig machine is a bit meh. Also, machine delivers tea through same spout meaning tea tastes of coffee….not ideal. No milk in room but available from foyer cafe bar space. Actually….sorry, coffee throughout the hotel is poor. Full disclosure- I usually have a double-double espresso to start the day, and I’m heavy scooped with my other coffee devices. :-/
What’s interesting is that other IHGs (at least one!), say that IHG no longer provides kettles to guests. Well Done this hotel for keeping the kettles!
Wall sockets and USB charging ports; some work, some don’t, some sockets don’t grab the plug, some needs supporting with books, pens, folded paper…needs some fixing work there. Worn out parts.
Random gym equipment- stretchy bands, foam blocks, a yoga mat. Plus a weird numbered column like a climbing bar..? Shrugs.
Fold out desk + whiteboard. Weird. Work meeting, anyone?
Bathroom sink; no plug. Take one of those universal “hostel plugs” with you- be aware the sink plug hole in the room sits flush with the porcelain, so your “travel plug” will need to be flat.
Bar is apparently “cashless”, but NY State has a law that says vendors/traders must accept cash? Shrugs again. Doesn’t say how big the beer is.
Overall, yes I’d stay again, but with a smaller suitcase!
- Ella (9/5): -
- Bresee (7/5): - Convenient location, cool place, friendly staff! Only three elevators in the whole building. The shower titles were hard on my feet.
- Alexis (9/5): -
- elanoue (8/5): It is a box in Manhattan with a bed. If you want to lounge in your room and have lots of space, look elsewhere… - Overall, clean and tidy, a “you get what you pay for hotel”. Can’t beat the price - it’s a box in Manhattan with a bed. If you want to lounge in your room and have lots of space, look elsewhere
Cons:
HVAC - VERY LOUD - we set ours to cool and 67; never went below 71; ZERO towel bars in bathroom despite 3 large empty walls; Our room was without a fridge; every room is supposed to have one (so if that matters to you, double check)
Pros: close to Grand Central Station; Close to Times Square and Broadway; EAST side of the city; FREE exercise clothes laundering, very comfy bed; Excellent toiletries
If you are interested in Circle Line boat tours/Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, The Intrepid, food in Hell’s Kitchen (other side of Manhattan, for those not familiar with the city) - not a con of the hotel, I just find that stuff useful from reviews when I am coming from away

- shaniecel2018 (10/5): Great experience - It was a great trip. The hotel was great and clean and close to work. James and Sherwin in particular made the trip beyond awesome.
- Bariyaah (9/5): -
- Bariyaah (9/5): -
- Burcu Dicle (7/5): A decent stay for 1-2 nights. - The location is great, the price is affordable. The room was clean. If you are a sports person there are gears in the room. The AC is loud, which is common in most of the hotels. The bed was not very comfortable. You can hear all the noises in the corridor.
- Dorothy (9/5): - convenient location if you are attending events at thr UN Price
- Sasi (10/5): -
- Pirulina8 (10/5): Amazing Midtown Staff!!! - Jeremy, you have gold at your location! Every person I encountered was a breath of fresh air in service and hospitality.
Julissa and Justin made check-in easy with genuine smiles. Alden behind the bar quickly waved me over with a smile, a pour, and great late-night snack recommendations. In the morning, Maria at the front desk was quick and steady, and Liz and Ari served up a delicious breakfast.
Kevin and Aronde were fantastic while we prepared the meeting space , attentive to even the smallest details and checking in often to make sure everything was on point.
Truly an exceptional team that cares about guests, and it showed! Thank you- we will be back!

- donalds625 (10/5): My go to hotel in New York. - This has been my go to hotel since it opened. Fantastic location minutes from Grand Central station and walkable to Times Square (about 20 minutes). The hotel is modern, decent size rooms with fitness facilities. There’s modern style breakfast service and a lounge and a bar area which leads out to a large outdoor balcony. One of the reasons I keep coming back is the staff. Super welcoming and can-do attitude and the rooms are immaculately cleaned. I always look forward to coming back. I am a very frequent traveller and I highly recommend this property
- Michael (7/5): Convenient location, fine for business trips, clean and quiet. - Location is great for midtown business meetings. It's also 5 minutes from Grand Central. The rooms are not a bad size for New York and they are very clean and feel recently refurbished. The beds are very comfortable and my room at the back (no view) was very quiet at night. A major plus for business travel. Breakfast is good, but it feels understaffed and a bit chaotic. Not the fault of the staff, just not well organised. The breakfast coffee is pretty lousy. Just outside are really good coffee places, so no big deal.
- 141talleyc (10/5): Great stay, nice staff, thanks Julissa! - Julissa was great! Awesome personality, helpful and made our stay the best. The entire staff at EVEN was awesome as well. I will definitely stay at the EVEN Hotel Midtown East again!
- M550OQcourtneyc (10/5): Even Hotel Family Trip - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had the most wonderful stay! Check-in was a breeze, and we were pleasantly surprised to receive drink tickets upon arrival. The hotel is very clean and surprisingly spacious for a New York hotel.
We had a couple of questions about charges on our account, and Julisa was incredibly helpful in explaining everything to us. She was kind, patient, and did such a great job making sure we understood everything. Excellent service all around—we would definitely stay here!
- Charlotte (10/5): Great location for exploring and good value - Great location, good facilities lovely staff Nothing
- 395ezequiele (10/5): Great Experience March '26 - The hotel was great, I've stayed at the 25th Floor and there is no noise, from the street level nor neighboring buildings or rooms. The room was clean, well-equipped, and the staff is super helpful. The location is great as it is near Grand Central, walking distance from Times Square and Central Park.
I want to particularly mention Julissa, she was super helpful with instructions to get around the city, provided recommendations, speaks English and Spanish very well (maybe more languages but those are the ones I manage) and clearly likes what she does as she is really well at it.

- delicer2017 (8/5): There are many pluses to this hotel than meets the eye. - The hotel is smaller than I am accustomed but there is a lot of goodness packed into the small space. The corner room was spacious enough for our one night stay. It looked clean and well organized. I had to get adjusted to the barn door for the bathroom because you can hear everything taking place in the bathroom. The shower was spacious but the button for the handheld kept popping out in the shower floor and it was a nuisance having to keep bending down and reinserting it just to be able to use the handheld. The WiFi was less than par because I couldn’t play any music from my favorite app.
The refrigerator if small and couldn’t accommodate an upright Champagne bottle.
You can hear every room door and all corridor noise at night and that was unpleasant as it disturbed our sleep.
On a brighter note, the staff was extremely pleasant and even accommodated me with an early check in and late checkout for my IHG status. We received coupons for 2 free drinks and received a discount coupon for Jacks Steakhouse which we used.
I will definitely return to the Even Hotel the next time I want to stay in the city.
- Rifat (6/5): Too high price for what you get. I moved out after two days and found another better hotel 1 block away for half the pri - Bed was good, and location. Staff were very cooperative.

- patriciakJ4070KU (10/5): Outstanding staff and excellent location - I had a great stay at Even Hotel NY Midtown East. My original booking had to be extended twice, until 25th Feb, due to various flights cancellation.
Bridget was proactive in helping me secure the extra nights, and Guy was equally friendly, kind and attentive throughout my stay. Their support made a stressful situation much easier - thank you both.
The hotel was clean, calm, and within walking distance of public transport.
I would happily stay here again.

- X1595MRmelaniew (10/5): Lovely hotel in a fab area. - Great hotel in a fab location. Stayed for 5 night with my daughter. Hotel rooms are clean and modern, beds super comfy and location was excellent, 6 mins walk to Grand Central, 20 mins to 5th Ave and times square. We were given a room on the 26th floor with a view of the Chrysler Building... Fab! It's a quiet area (for new york) which we were glad of after busy days. My daughter wanted to stay in times square, but once we had visited and experienced the noise and hussle she was pleased we were staying where we were.
The extra expense at check in I was prepared for, tax fee per night and 200 dollars security deposit came to an extra $375 dollars! Can imagine this catches a few people out, but I was prepared after reading up. Still waiting for the 200 deposit to come back, but they said would take a few days.
We were room only and only had breakfast in the hotel one day, was expensive but nice.
Overall couldn't fault, would defo stay here again.
- W8875DLsarahf (10/5): Easy stay, convenient location - Lovely staff, very helpful and friendly! Great location super convenient and comfortable accommodations. Great for a quick trip into the city. Would stay again.
- Elizabeth (7/5): It was clean, the location was great, the staff was nice, but it needed some help. - It was clean and convenient Many of the outlets in our room didn't work, having to blow dry our hair in the room instead of bathroom and the outlets next to one side of the bed didn't work. The heat in the room was far too high, and I'd turn it down, but that would only last for 20 minutes... then it went up again. I was sweating all night long.
- Shads69 (10/5): Large group booking - Stayed 4 nights at this hotel as part of a large group. Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helped with any requests quickly. Breakfast was nice with reasonable options. A good start to the day. Overall excellent.
- FamilyHolidays4 (8/5): Great location for all you want to see in NYC - Great location for walking most places. Great for the subway as very close to Grand Central. Receptionist could have been friendlier. The guy who gave us our luggage and arranged our transfer (Chery I think his name was) was so helpful and should definitely be out front more. Rooms were pretty clean, albeit small. My daughter and I shared a bed on the 20th floor. Very quiet during the night apart from people coming back late and being loud.
All in all would recommend
- michaellondra (6/5): Standard NYC mid range with added pluses. - My check in was rough as the receptionist was not in the mood to be civil. Still it is NYC so I took it on the chin. The room is basic, small but comfortable. The bed was great. Lighting is low. I was on 8th floor and there was zero noise. The gym is fantastic and amazing offer of free laundry for your gym clothes was incredible. I dropped gym clothes in a. net bag and next day they were delivered to my room. The reason to stay here is convenience. It is 2 blocks from grand central. The price was good despite BS resort fees which hopefully Mamdani is sorting. Overall I would recommend a stay and I will use again.
- Hoppysport (10/5): Great Hotel, Incredible Staff, Reasonable Rates - I love the Even Midtown East. The room is fantastic. My room was on the smallish side, but perfect for me...but the layout and features are brilliant. The rest of the rooms are bigger. My room was on the 00 line, with a nice private hallway and a huge bathroom. The entire staff is superlative, with a special shout-out to manager Sherwin and engineering wizard Marty (had a minor TV glitch). Security is also top notch and professional.
The bed is as good as it gets. Spacious desk, fast Wi-Fi, huge bathroom, yoga mat and exercise bands. The room is absolutely pristine.
Check-in and you're handed a free welcome drink coupon. How nice is that! The location is pretty much perfect. Walk to Second Avenue and you can catch the bus downtown. Walk to Third and the uptown bus is right there. Take the train and Grand Central is basically a crosstown block away. And there's tons of restaurants steps away in every price range.
Want a burger? There's the Overlook Bar just outside. A fantastic ½ pound burger for $13.99 that comes with sides of cole slaw and pickles. The restaurant choices are dizzying.
For what you get, the Even Midtown East is a great value. I cannot recommend enough.
- Shivani (7/5): Great location with main amenities - Easy to get to. Clean rooms. Good breakfast options Reception staff were not friendly except for Mr Sherwin who was great manager!

- Phillip (7/5): - Everything not listed below. The self-help kisok menu and billing pages was confusing, not laid out well, needed to have more detail instructions and did not list all items in the refrigerator.
The elevators were slow and at times when the call button was pushed went by our floor without stopping.
One day our room was not made up even though there was no "Do Not Disturb" sign handing from oo door handle.
- Gorkem (7/5): Great location , easy to get to tourist area - 2 Years ago i visited with my friends. Breakfast was free. That was the one of reason we chose this hotel. This time breakfast was not included. We were dissappointed. Location was great. Breakfast would be included.
