The hotel location is very close to the train station, and there are supermarket and restaurants nearby. The NKS travel agency is just across the road if you are going to Taman Negara.
• MOHAMMAD (8/5): Hotel with suitable price. - Rooms was not that spacious but it is occopuied for 3-4 person. Wifi was amazing. Affordable food in the restaurant for dinner. Air condition was superb. Breakfast just nice, not toom many but simple variety is there.

• zatyz (2/5): The only good things are the staff - It used to be our favorite hotel and we have been staying here whenever we visit our grandparents for the past 7 years. However, our recent stay we feel so disgusted. The hotel and rooms are not well maintained. The room are not clean at all, there are hair and nuts all over the floor, it was so dusty. There are lizard dungs at the window and on the wall. The carpet are old and its about time to replace a new one. The pillow, bed sheet, comforter are all so gross. We wanted to change the room but the hotel was full. So we asked the housekeeping to clean the room again. It was ok but still not that clean. The only good things are the staff are friendly and helpful. I believe that the money that they spent on swimming pool should have been spent to upkeep the hotel instead. Hopefully the management will keep this into consideration since there are new hotel in town.

• ZainuddinA (6/5): Clean and Convenience - Surprisingly Jerantut, Pahang is a big town and Hotel Darulmakmur is the best hotel there. This hotel has a 2 stars rating but they are upgrading their facilities and rooms soon. The hotel has 39 rooms only but upgrading to 70 rooms. The room I stayed is small but the bed was confertable. Room aminities is sufficient including coffee & tea facilities and few Astro chanel. The room is priced RM98.00 nett without breakfast. They have a banquet hall that fits 100 people for dining and 3 small seminar rooms. The breakfast restaurant (Sri Makmur) is small but cozy. They can cater only 40 persons per meal period. To my disbelief, they also offer Room service which I can't get at any 2 stars hotel in Malaysia. At night, dinner is served at 'Tepian Darul Makmur'. which is an open space area. The pricing at 'Tepian darul Makmur' is very reasonable and tasty. Overall, staffs were friendly but shy. Looking forward to stay again especially after they has upgraded.

It has a ramp for wheek chair guest near the parking lot.The breakfast served was quite adequate in choices.The staffs are quite friendly and courteous. Recommended for travellers who need a stay in Jerantut.

• mw123456 (6/5): Family trip 5 to 7 July 2016 - V had a family room with 1 king size bed and 1 single bed. The single bed is rather small only 3 ft wide though room is spacious. Air con is a noisy. The creamer had harden . One of the saucer even had dried curry stains. Ants were found on the coffee counter. However the service is prompt and staff friendly. Breakfast is provided but food is below average. It is one of the most expensive hotel in Jerantut town. I would say it is below my expectation
• khalilahsarir (10/5): Happy - This is my 2nd times visit hotel darul makmur after my friend recommendation...basically,there is no point for me to feel unhappy staying here..everything just perfect...friendly staff...nice banquet room..clean and nice room..i love their room service..price is standard suitable with its taste...will come to visit here again..
• zatyz (8/5): Friendly staff - This is actually my 3rd times staying here. This round I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights at this hotel and satisfied with the friendliness of the staff. The hotel is OK. I love the fact that there are room service which can deliver amazingly delicious food until midnight. If there is one thing that I would want to suggest is to improve cleanliness of the room.
• Ezeither (2/5): I don't want to come back here again - To my awful surprise, the housekeeper didn't do their job. The bed linen, quilt cover and pillow cases were not being changed after the last guests. I could tell from the amount of hair and stains on the bed and also pillow. I had to call to make the hotel staff change for me after I realised in the evening. I understand that Jerantut is not a hip city with hip hotels around but I expect a clean room to stay in.
• yeapc_12 (8/5): Clean and Confortable Rooms - Was on a working trip to Jerantut recently, and decided to stay here for a night. The Hotel Darul Makmur is located in the old town section, just opposite the police station. The location of the hotel in Google maps is wrongly located. Upon reaching the hotel, a few flights of stairs leads from the road towards the reception. There is a small lounge to the right of the reception. Check-in was in a couple of minutes, and there was a slight mix up with my booking. I booked a executive room, but was given a junior executive room. But this is just for a night stay, so it's still ok for us. A small elevator is located on the right reception area. Our junior executive room is located on the first floor. Our room was spacious, with the floors fully carpeted. I like the idea that the floor in front of the bathroom was tiled. The bathroom was spacious, and quite bare, but adequate, with a instant water heater. There is a queen-size bed and a single bed in our room. The beds were clean and comfortable. The pillows were soft, fluffy, clean and comfortable as well. The air-cond unit cools our room effectively. Behind the hotel is the Tepian restaurant, which serves nice food. Our room comes with complimentary breakfast at the Tepian restaurant. The breakfast was average, but acceptable with usual fried noodles, baked beans, fried chicken, toast, cereals, fruits and cakes. Overall, I thinks this is one of the better hotels in a small town like Jerantut.
• popcorncola (8/5): Clean and Comfy Room - Location: Good, easy to find food and shops (at night you may wanna try out the local Chinese food near the hotel - simply delicious and cheap). Room: Clean, quite and sufficient. Value for money and satisfied. Thick tower and fluffy pillow! Service: Fast check-in and helpful front desk staff. Breakfast: Simple breakfast meal (pre-order type). Others: Ample parking space next to the hotel. Overall: Pleasant stay and definitely one of the best hotel in Jerantut.
• vicente_F60763 (4/5): I will revise if they improve while I am here! - I have been checked into this hotel for about 8 hrs. So far this is what has occurred. I booked a king or double, was told they are booked full and I can only have 2 twins. Came back and informed them the room smells of smoke and we requested a non smoking room. Was told they will come and spray air freshener. The room was missing the remote control and was told house keeping would bring it up. 8hrs and 7 min. Still no remote. The bathroom was wet as if someone other than us had recently showered there. The sheets are not clean. The a/c is pumping out ice cold air, that earned them their 2nd star. I asked about getting to Tana Negara and was pointed to a closed tourist agency. For not much less than what we were paying in KL this place does not deliver on any respect.
• TravellingMike2021 (8/5): Great hotel , best in town - This is the gateway to the Taman Negara rainforest, jungle, adventure. Stay here before spending a few days in the forest. Not much else in town for tourists. Very , very nice people who cant do enough to help. English is not the best but certainly understandable. The reason for only 4 stars was the breakfast. Sometimes served cold in the Bain Marie but we were here over Ramadan so maybe different when more daytime eaters are around. The staff were more than helpful in reheating it. The coffee machine only served black tea or white sweetened coffee. Orange Juice was only orange cordial. Staff 5 stars, room 4.5 stars, room service 5 stars, food 2 stars. Free wireless internet
• ruzanaa2018 (8/5): A suprising gem in Jerantut! - Spent a night in this hotel. It is located at the old town of Jerantut....very quiet at night as most of the surrounding shops close early evening. The room was nice, clean and at par with 4 star hotels. As a female Muslim, it was a pleasant suprise to find the room is provided with not only the usual praying mat, but also praying costumes (telekung/mukana) for ladies and monthly praying/solat schedule. I have travelled quite a bit and this is the first time a hotel has provided such facilities in the room. Kudos to Majlis Agama Islam Pahang (owner of the hotel) for this effort. You really make me a Pahang Girl proud to promote this hotel to my friends and acquaintance. Wifi is free and available in the room. The wifi password is given during check-in. Other amenities are quite basic in the room. Food selections is average, but satisfying. The cons: 1) no wheelchair access or trolley access at the main entrance (only 4 steps of starcase). 2) Twin bed is standard single size, which is a bit too small. Most hotel provides super single size for their twin bed. Being a restless sleeper, I almost fell off the bed that night :)
• DJK1979 (10/5): 5 Star Service just the tonic for Taman Negara Disappointment - We backpacked around Malaysia for 3 weeks in December 2013 and planned was to visit Taman Negara. We booked 4 nights of accommodation in Jerantut and planned on visiting the National Park each day to go on treks, activities etc. Unfortunately, because of the very wet weather, the National Park proved inaccessible by road but this only became apparent once we had arrived and paid for the accommodation. We were advised by the National Park itself, that for those who had managed to access the park most activities, like the canopy walkway, were closed because of flooding caused by the severe monsoon season and that this was the first time this had happened in many decades. Advice numero uno, only book a single day of accommodation in Jerantut as we were informed it's easier to enjoy the National Park by arranging a tour and staying within the park itself rather than travelling back and forth. Unfortunately, we would not get the opportunity to test the theory. Secondly, our brief review of Jerantut itself suggests that Hotel Darul Makmur is probably the best Hotel in the area. At £30 per night, this was one of the more expensive places we stayed in Malaysia but our room was neat, tidy, comfortable and relatively well equipped. That said we now had 4 days on our hands in Jerantut and without sounding disrespectful, there is not a great deal to do in this rather sleepy outpost. Thankfully, the Hotel rooms themselves provide a decent flat screen TV complete with a movie channel which helped pass the time and some time was spent watching Newcastle United beat Manchester United 1 - 0, at a small local cafe/eatery. Certainly, a pleasant evening. It became quickly apparent though that we would struggle to stay occupied for 4 days here. I spoke to the friendly manager of this place, Harris (a complete legend by the way) and asked if he would be prepared to refund us for 2 days of the accommodation so we could leave early and head somewhere else. He agreed to this, and although we did experience some complications in processing the refund, he was very helpful and eventually with the assistance of our Credit Card company we would secure the refund some months later. That still left us with one full day to spend in Jerantut, and Harris was only too happy to arrange to take us on a tour of the area along with his friends. The only rookie mistake we made was in failing to agree a price before we went, and they would look to charge us 150 Ringgit (about £30) at the end of the tour, although Harris later agreed to reduce this to 100 Ringgit after I explained that it was quite a bit more that we had been expecting. The 3 hour tour itself, however, really made our entire stay in Jerantut worthwhile and totally unique. Harris took us to a couple of farms, one which utilised Monkey's to climb trees and harvest coconuts. We visited a herb garden and then a pottery where my wife was given the chance to mould her own pot. Finally, somehow Harris and his friends managed to get us into a traditional Malayan wedding where we were treated like guests of honour and invited to enjoy a wedding feast! Fantastic! All of this came about because of the relaxed, spontaneous nature of the tour and the fact we were treated like familiar friends by Harris and his buddies, one of whom took pictures throughout and supplied us with copies at the end of the day. As I said, Harris is a legend. Unlike regular hotel managers, this chap is a seriously skilled and locally renowned Rollerblader, even judging competitions in Kuala Lumpur!!!! All in all, it was Harris and his friendly staff which made our stay worthwhile, and limited our National Park disappointment. Our only meal within the Hotel was a traditional breakfast , which contrary to one of the reviews below, was cooked to perfection. As we left relatively, early the next day to head back to Kuala Lumpur, Harris even ensured, after we had asked, that we were provided with a packed lunch for the journey. The Hotel provides tours to Taman Negarra itself, although Harris will readily admit they are more expensive that other operators. We are told that this is down to ensuring a personal experience is provided rather than one simply dictated to by having enough bodies to fill a coach! From our rather unique afternoon experience in Jerantut with Harris himself, we cannot doubt that this would prove to be the case!
• Muddyjunction (10/5): 5 Star Detailing in 3 Star Hotel - The Hotel is the newest in Jerantut, Pahang, which means if you are heading to Taman Negara, this is a good base or stop-over. The rooms are very nice and the amenities in the room are based on 5 Star facilities - room service, well-packaged toiletries, tea-making facility, Flat-screen HD TV, custom teak-wood furniture giving a home-away-from-home ambience (the headboard for the beds had custom-designed carving depicting the Hotel's Logo), iron and ironing board. We stayed in the executive room which had a grand teak-wood four poster bed, an additional single bed and small living room set. Service was good and the food was relatively good. The food option in town was rather limited so we decided to dine in at the only restaurant. It had a good selection of Asian and Western Fare at fair prices and was quite tasty. It is a good place for families to stay.
• xxxert (6/5): The Hotel Is Good If Your Purpose Of Visit Is To Sleep...Not To Eat . - This small hotel is located at Bandar Jerantut Lama . I was told it started the operation less than two years ago.I would agree by observing the furnitures were quite new . The room was acceptable and clean . The staff were less friendly,some of them talked to you without bothering to look at your face ..The major upset was during dinner at the back of the hotel.We were having BBQ dinner with stinking smell coming from nearby drain . The food was less tasty . Overall, if you come here with stopover mindset to Taman Negara , it would be a choice for you ...but if not, where else can u find the hotel here ? ..The choice is yours ..
• herrnd (4/5): Avoid this hotel,the staff do not care about guests - At first glance this hotel appeared to be reasonably good. The room was acceptable, but there was hair on the bed sheets. What really lets the hotel down is the biggest asset of any business,the staff. We choose to eat in the hotel restaurant. This was a big mistake. Prices are higher than local restaurants, which is fine if the service matches. The service was dreadful. In the first instance the majority of things on the menu were simply not available. The waitress informed us as we selected from the menu. " We do not have that"." In fact we really do not have much at all". The dish that I ordered was completely unacceptable. The chicken was raw in the middle. I made a complaint. The dish was taken away without an apology. The same plate made another appearance 15 minutes later. The chicken had been fried to a crisp. However,the rest of the food on the plate from when the dish had been taken away, the same plate was cold. It was the most unpleasant meal that I had in Vietnam,Cambodia,Thailand and Malaysia.Whether,it is because Malaysia takes visitors for granted or it is a cultural thing I really do not know,but compared to Cambodia where most people could not do enough for you,Malaysia is disappointing. However,the scenery is nice,where there has not been large scale environmental destruction. The restaurant thought it ok to charge full price for this.I complained to the hotel management the next day who were not in the least bit interested. There is a general view in Malaysia which is quite different to the view in Europe. It is that the customer is wrong and the shop or restaurant is right. It is quite comical when the Malaysian Tourist Office spends a fortune on promoting the country as a wonderful place. Of all the countries that I visited in South East Asia,Malaysia is the most unwelcoming and most indifferent place of them all. So I suggest that the Minister of Tourism convey to Malaysians who work in the tourist industry, that without visitors they would not have a job. I would certainly not rush back to Malaysia. As for the Hotel Darul Makmur, I informed the management that I would put a note on trip advisor about my stay. Their attitude was one of so what. So dear reader you have a choice.Want to be treated like a sucker or cattle ,stay at the Hotel Darul Makmur. Want to show teach them the importance of good customer relations in a business. Stay clear of this hotel. I am sure after a period of financial difficulty through lack of bookings, they will come to their senses.
• zue-mael (6/5): Could have been better - We stayed here during the Eid weekend. No doubt most of the staff were on leave, but the ones on duty should have made it more comfortable for the guests. The breakfast was a sad story. Firstly, the cafe was as gloomy as a winter's morning. The food?All spicy food & nothing for the children. They served the traditional Eid delicacies for two days. Well, obviously it was just preheated on the second day! The coffee/tea machine was out of order, the juice dispenser did not have any juice in it, the toaster had no bread to toast, etc. Children? They just could not eat a thing. Rooms are ok, but the shower was a bit disappointing. Management got to do something about this fast

Overall, nice. Amenities across the rooms are not standardised. Ample parking space. We were there with young children with no problem at all.
• naomiBristol (10/5): darulmakmur, amazing value - this is a brand new hotel hence not many reports yet but we found it excellently comfortable & luxurious for the price we paid, (about £30/dbl a/c.rm. b&b as l recall) OK Jerantut is a bit dull but there's easy access to taman negara nat park from there; 1 hr or so on public (cheap) or private (quicker) bus & compared to the hostels actually in the park area this was way-better standard & right next to jungle line station so v.convenient. tour co in main st can arrange trips for you but we just did our own thing & was easy/cheap.
• HamdeeH (10/5): budget hotel with a 5 star service - located in a sleepy town of jerantut pahang.they do provide outdoor activities as well such as taman negara jungle trekking,kuala gandah elephant farm and bat caves.too bad cant go as i was there on a business trip. service was awesome.rooms were great.surprisingly this hotel provides astro movie channels.foods was terrific!staffs were friendly. overall rating..2 thumbs up!
