Guest Reviews
- Ariana (2/5): - The whole reason I booked the room was for the pool and the pool was about half full of nasty water and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in about a year. The heat lamp in the bathroom didn't have bulbs and the stopper wouldn't work for the tub. The AC unit's wiring looked a little iffy.
- Amy (4/5): - That i can bring my dog.the bed cover was dirty the air-conditioning dis nor work properly
- Stephenie (10/5): - We loved our stay
- Rose (4/5): - When I first arrived, they couldn't find my reservation. The room was dirty, and the curtains did not close completely. The staff couldn't care less if I stayed or not.
- Joseph (2/5): - Disgusting
- Darlene (4/5): My stay. - In very poor condition, roaches in the room, everything needs updating. Drapes are torn and don’t close properly!!
- Ricky (10/5): - Great place to relax
- Emily (2/5): - The location is great, however our bed was rock hard and the pillows were super flat. Our Ac in the room did not work when i asked to be moved rooms we were told oh all the ac’s are broken. Our bathroom sink leaked in the floor they had a rag wrapped around the drain.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Horrible - The beds were hard as rocks, the toilets didnt flush correctly, bathroom doors didn’t close correctly and was coming apart.
- Gyorgy (2/5): - I booked a room over a month ago. I left New Orleans in the morning and arrived at the hotel I had booked at 10pm. I wanted to check in and the lady told me there were no rooms available. I said I had a reservation. She said it could be, but my room had been given to someone else, so I had booked no room for nothing. Well, after that I was completely exhausted looking for another hotel. I found one, but I had to travel another 50 miles back to our destination. So this hotel would get a zero from me if it had one. I don't recommend it to anyone, because even if you book a room, they don't care. I don't even know how Expedia allows them to do this.
- David (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised to find a nice-smelling, clean room with a refrigerator and a microwave in it.
- drew (4/5): - Very outdated faculty. Not worth it for the money.
- Marcus (2/5): - To start the man at the counter met me at the door and said we dont rent to the homeless after i got out of my car before i made it to the counter and was just offensive and rude then after looking over that the rooms are not what it shows in the pictures there was blood on the bed so we asked for another room immediately and then the shower was broke and the ac was falling apart after getting thise fixed there was no more towels in the hole building so i had to buy some
- david (8/5): - I've stayed here before. I originally chose it because it was inexpensive and allowed pets. When I arrived after 11 pm they were still kind and efficient. They got me checked in quickly and I was able to get in the room and off to sleep which is just what I needed after my long drive. I was there a week this time and everything was good. Its not the Ritz but its clean and comfortable, the people are very nice, and everything works. The only thing negative I can say is that the pillows arent great. I usually bring my own but i forgot.
- Tonjia (2/5): All SO SHE CHECKED THE NEXT ROOM AND IT WAS WORST - THE ROOM WAS $82.00 THEY WERE NICE BUT THE ROOM HAD ROACHES THE TOWELS AND WASH RAGS WAS SO DENGIE I HAD TO TAKE A PICTURE FOR THEM AND THEY ACT SURPRISED HE GAVE ME 25% BACK WHICH WAS $20.00 BACK BUT I WILL NEVER GO TO THAT PLACE AGAIN THE HEATER WAS BUSTED UP THE LADY WAS NICE
- David (8/5): - Property needs to be updated but it was clean and quiet, staff was friendly.
- Veronica (6/5): Good room for the price - The staff was very nice. The room was clean. The bed was very firm but i prefer it that way. Great price for the room. Overall, I think it's a decent hotel. It's not the Ritz but I didn't expect it to be. Everything in the room worked. I will probably stay there again next time I go to Greeneville.
- Ana (10/5): - Good
- angela (10/5): - It was nice
- Meagan (2/5): - One of the worst motels I’ve stayed in and I’ve stayed in some much cheaper places. The beds were terrible, walls were dirty, sheets had a stain, cracked mirror and damage to walls. Even for $78, it was not clean feeling whatsoever
- Paul (2/5): - Mexicans getting drunk in a parking lot and the room was trash, bathroom door, falling apart, baseboards folded down all over the floor everywhere in the bed was hard as a freaking piece of wood
- David (6/5): - Carpet and bathroom area floors were dirty, blackened my socks and my bare feet. Property sits right on the highway, a lot of traffic noise.
- Ashley (10/5): - I liked the pool. I didn't like that they didnt serve breakfast sand the bathtub did not)
- Wanda (10/5): - Very nice hotel room! Nice pool! Will recommend to friends
- Teri (4/5): - If you are on a tight budget and need a place to stay this is air conditioned and dry. It definately lacked in cleanliness but we couldn't find any bedbugs!
- David (2/5): - I don't like to get a motel and have to go clean it I rather relax
- David (2/5): - The pool was the only thing good about it. When I go get a motel room I prefer not to have to clean the room before I stay in it if I wanted to do that I would stay at home
- Lora (2/5): - My account unit didn't work the whole time I was there
- DOLORES (8/5): - Bed was uncomfortable
- Kimberly (2/5): - It wasnt what i thought it would be frim the picture's. More run down and old.
- Teresa (2/5): - Was not allowed to stay with my cats.
- Robert (10/5): - Just what I was looking for a clean room and a safe place to spend the night
- kevin (8/5): - Staff was very friendly
- Tanya (6/5): - Needs an update. Prooerty was noisy
- Charles (2/5): - There was nothing we liked about the stay. Sadly it was typical of an Idian owned property where they throw some paint on the walls and call it renovated. The king bed had no box spring and the mattress was so old you could feel the springs. There was mold on the back of the sink where the caulking was coming apart from the wall and the luggage stand was bent with two straps missing. Probably one the the worst stays wwe've experienced in years. Comfort Inn tonight.
- Michael (8/5): - Even though it looked dated, the room was fine / clean and suited my needs
- Edward (10/5): - The room was very clean and felt cozy inside
- Verified traveler (2/5): TERRIBLE!! should not be on hotels.com. Disgusting - Your reservation number meant nothing to them. And their room smelled of urine in the carpet. 3/4 of the hotel was closed due to bed bugs and roaches! The pictures online absolutely look nothing like the real rooms!
It was a horrible experience. This is actually a motel with external doors and there was nothing but drug addicts and alcoholics partying till three in the morning. To smell urine for two days and the people would do nothing about it because they're foreigners and they don't understand English. I feel they should know me a full refund of those two days which I know is not gonna happen!
Absolutely disgusting and when I get through with him hopefully the health department will come on down and hit them hard!!
- Dennis (4/5): - Very bad don’t waste your money. I should have stayed in my truck.
- Joseph (6/5): Decent cheap stay - Decent hotel for the money. Older decor, but everything was clean. The bed was very hard and not real comfortable. For a quick over night stay, it's what you'd expect for less than $80
- Andrew (6/5): - The place is pretty beat. Not the worst, but not great.
- Louis (2/5): - I feel bad giving this place such a low rating, the staff members were extremely nice and welcoming. The Inn itself is in terrible condition and not worth the price. It was very old/musty smelling, dirty and everything from the towels to the bed sheets were stained. We even walked into the room and found a spider hanging from the ceiling inches above the bed. It was disappointing and uncomfortable.
- Ash (4/5): - Holes in walls, stained sheets and towels, air conditioning is lousy, dirty floors,
- David (8/5): - Older property. Clean comfortable room.
- gordon (8/5): - A little seedy, but really no complaints. Quiet, convenient.
- Matt (2/5): - This super 8 was perfect for me. Clean room and comfortable bed. Staff was very helpful and great price. Just what i needed
- c.j. (10/5): - Close to venue and eats. Variety of eats.
- c.j. (10/5): - Close to venue and eats. Variety of eats.
- Cindy (10/5): - I slept very good was not ready to go
- Christopher (10/5): - I was looking for a place to crash one night on my travels and see the Andrew Johnson site the next morning. The AJ Inn was a nice motel with friendly staff and near restaurants and tourist sites. clean room and dependable WiFi
- Lynda (4/5): - pool empty
- Donna (8/5): - The office staff was less than helpful. Tje room was very clean and comfortable but when we left for the day our snacks, drinks and lysol were removed from the room. We had taken our clothes bags and toiletries with us because we werent sure of the are etc. Our check out wasnt scheduled until the following day. Just a mix up I assume. Overall, I did end up booking an extra day.
- Kevin (6/5): - Holes on the walls, heater not working properly, water to forceful, no book explaining room or property or advertising of surrounding areas.
- Jodi (8/5): - Enjoyed the convenience to food and shopping as well as the privacy of the rooms
- Dewey (8/5): - It met our needs.
- Clayton (2/5): - Dirty. Holes in the blankets.
- Janette (8/5): - Excellent value comfortable beds, enjoyed our stay and will stay again
- Lowell (2/5): - Not a good place to stay. Dirty room, terrible bed and run down. Faucets didn’t work. Just a bad choice on our part.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Don't bother stopping here. - This was one of the worst hotel room experiences I have ever had. The shower would not stop dripping no matter how far you turn the knob. The neighbors in the room nextdoor were annoying and you could hear them through the wall the entire night. Tweakers in one side and people having sex all night on the other side. 4am it sounded like someone was drilling a hole through the wall for 15 minutes and then at 5 am the ceiling. I don't understand why they would put me in a room with people occupying the rooms on both sides when there were empty rooms available. I ended up checking out early at 6 am because I could hear what sounded like someone kicking in a door in one of the other rooms.
- Jamie (6/5): - The rate for the room was a good price, especially if you are going to be there for one night. Otherwise the bed covers had cigarette burns in them and the room stunk
- Robert A (4/5): - Staff was friendly
- Volker Friedrich Richard (10/5): - Friendly and professional staff
- Carolyn (2/5): - The blankets and sheets looked dirty and had cigarette holes. Bathroom window was busted out. There was someone elses trash in my room. I found a few bedbugs and roaches. No bags for ice. Lots of foot traffic to a certain room across the lot. No chlorine in pool.
- Angela (4/5): - The location of this property was great for our trip. We knew the facility was older and didn't have unreasonable expectations. Our room was ok, not necessarily the cleanest but nothing a quick wipe down didn't fix. Water pressure was great although hard to turn on. Get ready to take showers and realize housekeeping came in and got the towels and failed to leave any. Not sure that I would go back but nonetheless, had a great weekend in the area.
- Marty (10/5): - It was pretty quite. Pretty big rooms. Needed a mini fridge
- Karen (8/5): Wifi issue - It was but the wifi didn't work right they was trying to be helpful but still it would pick up on on my phone or my mana phone.
- Krystal (8/5): - A nice ladt manages this property.
- Angela (4/5): - This facility was very out dated. The mattress was at least 25 years old. The bed spread had burn marks on it. The curtains were tattered and frayed. And I found evidence of dead bed bugs on the antiquated mattress pad. The vent in the bathroom made a loud, horrible noise. I would not recommend this place.
- James (4/5): Won’t ever consider staying there again. - One sink backup other won’t shut off. Second room had waste cans under sink to collect water and overflow. Beds not comfortable. Front door not real secure.
- Jason (8/5): - Was an excellent place to place. It was clean and the staff friendly
- Tracey (4/5): - Bugs in the room and they didn’t tell me that the pool was not open
- Carl (10/5): - Great place , quiet rooms great staff
- Krystal (4/5): - It was very very run down. Customer service was disappointing. Was so grateful I had brought my own pillow and blanket, it just didn’t strike one is clean. Couldn’t check out fast enough in the morning
- Darren (8/5): Dissatisfied - The bed covers had burn holes in them the bathroom window was busted out so someone could just climb right in. The chairs were very nasty and had bad stains on them. The carpet had stains on it couldn’t walk around without shoes on. Other than that it was ok little far from interstate thou.
- Steven (8/5): - No ice from either machine
- STEVEN (8/5): A little noisy - Could have been quieter. Heard traffic from highway.
- MARGARET (8/5): - Good place, easy access to grocery stores, restaurants.
- Tapperjon (2/5): Never again. - Recommend you check it out first. Moldy smell in each room we checked out. Wife has bad allergies and she would have very sick we we had stayed there. Area is not the best to be in. Young lady was helpful however was not dressed professionally. Glad we went on down the road.
- Joyce (2/5): - Was informed at check in that my pets were NOT welcome as advertised because they were over 30 lbs. Did not see any mention of this anywhere on the reservation pages. Up charged me $100 per day for my 2 dogs who were only in the room overnight to sleep with us. I understand a pet fee, but feel this was exhorbitant, and was unexpected. And yes, I Could have gone elsewhere, but it was late when we checked in and we were exhausted, and would have been charged for not honoring our reservation. Our room was not cleaned or refilled with towels, etc. while we were there. No hot water in bathroom sinks, mold and mildew all over walls and ceilings. Will NEVER stay at this place again.
- Michael (6/5): Comfortable night’s stay - Non-smoking, but the bathroom smelled like smoke. Shower made a screeching noise, but AC worked, nice selection on TV and staff was very friendly.
- Kim (8/5): Good for the price - The place was clean and no frills but for the price it was fine for laying down your head to rest or coming back to the room to relax i between a busy day out and about. I will definitely stay again.
- Mike (2/5): Wont stay again - We reserved out room 5mos prior going off of previous experiences. Got to our room to very disappointed standards.. the sink was leaking wuth a bucket under.. the bed covers had burn holes in it.. woke up in middle of night to getting bitten by bed bugs
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The staff attitude was great. Very friendly. Thats about the only good thing. The floors were dirty, bathroom door was broke and had a 4inch gap at the bottom, bathroom windows were broke out, tv didnt work at all, wall outlets had no covers, some didnt work, ac was on constantly cause there’s no knobs. It was adequate for the few nights we stayed but until they finish renovations(that was the excuse we were given for the conditions) i wouldnt recommend for more than a passing night or so.
- Charles (4/5): - It was close to the venue. Very old property in disrepair. Staff was friendly. Will not stay again.
- Jacquie (10/5): Entertainment and security was great!!! - It was okay. It was an older motel. Some sketchy people, but they were nice enough. In the morning while we were packing up, 4 cop cars came and surrounded the corner area of the motel. So we felt the entertainment and security was great!
- Kerry L (2/5): - Toilet ran all night, called office. Could not turn on lav. Very, very hard. NO BREAKFAST that was advertised and was dirty. Dont go there
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It’s an older inn that hasn’t been updated. It was a restful stay but looked worn. (Carpet was torn at entrance, bathroom door couldn’t shut, unable to view any movie channels (HBO, showtime, etc)
- Verified traveler (2/5): Just NO - It's like the Schitt's Creek Motel, but worse!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - My friends and I were charged different prices for the same room, the pool is down, the house keeper and maintenance guy live on site and at night there will be a dramatic show from their room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Located right on the route.
- 18kellyr (2/5): Andrew Johnson inn is a horrible place - This is the worst place I have ever stayed....it is dirty and run down and the staff is the rudest bunch of people I have ever met and they are also conniving liars. They tell you they'll give you a deal and then over charge you by a lot! If it weren't race week we would've checked back out the second we got there.
- hondababy618 (6/5): My stay at the andrew johnson inn - The place is alright I guess, there is a few minor issues with the place being I have to use my own blanket considering all the burn holes & stains on there blankets, plus there is a humongous fly issue here where there is non'sceeen Windows in the bathroom. I try to keep the door shut that way they can't travel threw the room no more. Other then that the place is alright, it's somewhere to lay your head when you need it.. I don't agree with the whole 1 bed & it still being $60 a night when I've been here for like 3 weeks now paying EVERYDAY. $400 a week, they failed to mention I could pay up to a week in advance & it'd be cheaper. But, ya know they trynna make a dollar or two off us homeless folks 😂 there's the picture of one of the blankets they really tried laying on my bed.
- 974karig (2/5): Worst motel I've ever stayed in!! - This was the worst motel I've ever stayed in!! The good reviews have to be fake!! We stayed here because we were taking our daughter to college and there wasn't many other places to stay. I wish we would've stayed in our car now. The room was dirty!!! The back of the remote control was held on by a band aid!! The counter top has stains all over it! The latch on the door was broken! The air conditioner was about to fall off the wall!! The curtains were held on with bread ties and zip ties. The bathroom door had a hole in it. The handle to turn on the shower was about to fall off! There was some mysterious black goo coming from the Light fixture!! The floor under the back corner of the sink was wet and moldy! Everything in the room needed to be fixed! We left feeling dirty and hoping we weren't bringing home any bugs with us. We tried to talk to someone before we left but was told that the manager wouldn't be there until later. Don't stay here!! Stay anywhere else, and if there's nowhere else to stay sleep in your car or the woods or anywhere else but here!!!!
- susanmF223RC (2/5): Run. Don't go near this place - I stayed here with two friends on the way down south to see the eclipse. All other hotels were booked. They had fully exploited the situation, jacking up the price from $50 to $120 a night. We ended up in two smoking rooms. The linen was dingy, with cigarette holes, and the room smelled. The stuffing was coming out of the chAir and toilet paper holder coming off the wall. my roommate lay down on the bed and minutes later felt something crawl on her leg. She was so freaked out she decided to sleep in the car. I went to the front desk to ask for a change of room. The clerk said it was impossible because all rooms were taken. Further, he said all other hotels in town were booked. I went back and attempted to sleep. Around 5 am I was bitten by a bed bug. I took a bath and then to ask for a refund. The clerk refused to give me one. None of the three of us got any real sleep that night..a third friend slept on a dresser surface for fear of bugs. AVOID at all costs!!!!!
- ParkerFly (6/5): Not bad - I stayed here due to price and location. This is a very old motel but my room at least was clean, fairly well updated and met my needs fine. The only real complaint is the wifi which was pretty much unusable. It kept disconnecting and was slow when I could use it.
There are nicer places to stay in the area but for the price you can't beat it. I'll stay here again and probably recommend it especially if you're on a budget.
- Ar0undtheW0rldT (10/5): Good place for the money - Good value. Walk to the Greene County Fair Grounds. Bathroom clean and functional. Beds not worn out. Room had cable TV, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker...what else do you need?
Friendly staff. Again, good value for a safe, clean feeling road side motel.
- sandyg500 (4/5): Very Disappointing - I booked this motel through trip advisor for two nights. Proprietor was unable to use my credit card as his credit card reader apparently was outdated. He suggested that I pay with another card or cash which I was not able to do. He had to call in the credit card information. I found the motel room in severe need of remodeling and mold in both bathroom sinks. I checked out one day early to find a room somewhere else.
- nh305 (8/5): Reasonable price...quiet..LOTS of TV channels - On arrival the A/C wasn't working properly.
Even though it was late-ish..the manager came to my room and promptly fixed it (broken switch)...
It worked like a charm the rest of the night! (cold *quiet* A/C)
They even had my favorite channel (TCM) on their cable!
Even though it was on a main highway...it wasn't noisy at all.
As a single, older woman...I felt safe here.
P.S...There's a Starbucks in the Ingle's down the road...in case you need to know that.
P.S.S...Don't know about the WiFi....I had no need to use it.
- 9137 (8/5): "weekend getaway" - We had a weekend getaway here, room was clean and comfortable. The pool was clean and we were close to shopping and restaurants.Priced very reasonable. We were able to check out the town and they have a ghost walk, which was fun,and I really enjoyed time with my daughter and grandson.
- 933glendap (4/5): Vacation 1 week - the carpet was dirty and needed to be shampooed. The owner never did put on the free donuts. When I asked about them the second time he brought out some pre wrapped pastry from walmart. the free coffee was forgotten twice. I will not stay there again but it was ok apart from a few issues and the cleanliness. The price was good.
