Guest Reviews
- James (4/5): - Location is great, as it's right off the N25. Staff are friendly.
There's a nice picture of JFK in the lobby, and then it feels like the hotel hasn't been updated since that photo was taken.
The room keys are physical keys, the beds sagged terribly and reminded me of sleeping in a hammock rather than a bed (i.e., terrible night's sleep).
The bathroom sink had a double tap (one for hot, one for cold), so trying to get a slightly warm glass of water for my 2 year old felt kind of like a chemistry experiment (little bit of hot, some cold, maybe a bit more hot... nope, that was too much hot water, try again).
Attached restaurant had mediocre food. Nothing bad, but not great either.
Overall, feels like an old motel at the side of a highway because, well, it is.
- Caroline (10/5): 3* with 5* excellence - Booked two rooms for myself and family. First thing I noticed on arrival was how warm and inviting it looked. Next was the lovely welcome we received on checking in. We had two rooms adjacent to each other which were spacious, clean and very comfortable. We went for dinner and were greeted by the fantastic staff. Nothing was too much and service top notch. Dinner was cooked fresh and was just excellent. After a great sleep, breakfast was fabulous. I would highly recommend The Rhu Glenn Hotel. A family run hotel that greet you with smiles and a wonderful welcome. I loved this hotel as did my family. Service from all the staff was exceptional. 10 out of 10. We'll be back đ
- Catriona (8/5): Clean, Comfortable Stay with Eco-Friendly Touches, - The hotel was very clean, and the room â including the bed â was comfortable. I appreciated the eco-friendly touches, such as a jug of water in the room and a body wash dispenser.
Breakfast, however, was a bit of a letdown. The fresh fruit selection was sparse, and the juices tasted like they came from a carton. While the hot breakfast was served promptly and arrived hot â which was very welcome â overall, it felt expensive for what we received.
We were visiting the Fleadh in Wexford and were familiar with the area and have attended dances there over the years so we had no problem making the journey from Wexford.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Alanna (6/5): - The hotel was easy to access. Check-in was quick and staff was lovely. Family room has multiple beds so good for families.
It was a bit noisy until about 12 due to an event. My kids are younger so had trouble falling asleep.
- Dave (10/5): Great service - Arrived after reception had closed, was informed to go to the bar to checkin.
Gentle man had me booked in and took my last minute order for food, before i got to room.
Great service
- Adrian (8/5): - Great hotel lovely food both evening and breakfast. Plenty of parking, helpful and friendly service.
- Paula (10/5): - A wonderful warm welcome on arrival. We loved the large room and its outlook. Great nightâs sleep. The service was spot on in the bar/restaurant. All staff were friendly and helpful. Great evening meal and breakfast - weâre pleased we chose this hotel for our stay in Waterford.
- norma (8/5): - The property was lovely and clean. We enjoyed a beautiful big breakfast, the staff were very friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Outstanding stay! - Our stay was excellent! The hotel is 10 min drive outside of Waterford, but was a great choice. The hotel is kept in great condition, the staff were outstanding - at reception, at breakfast and at the lounge/bar where we had dinner two nights. So attentive and friendly! Our meals were beautiful - just wish I had room for dessert! Highly recommend The Rhu Glenn.
- Eric (10/5): - Charming place to stay.
- Jonathan (8/5): - A very nice roadside hotel. Clean and comfortable and with lovely staff. Thank you!
- Stephanie (10/5): - Lovely stay in very cosy hotel. Food was excellent. Staff all lovely. Will definitely be back
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean rooms but very dated. Staff is very friendly and helpful !
- Stephen (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay.
- kevin (10/5): - Staff were friendly and helpful
- Kelli (6/5): Probably wonât stay again - Hotels.com stated it had A/C when in fact it did not. The toilet didnât flush properly so we had to use the lobby toilet. When I called the front desk her response was she could call a plumber in the morning- not helpful. Didnât offer another room.
- David (8/5): - They didn't know how to make expresso....the first one was cold and was replaced by another one which was a bit better but still unsatisfactory.
- Tammi (10/5): great stay east of Waterford - Excellent check-in with John followed by nice visit to the pub and restful night's sleep. Easy and plentiful parking.
Location was perfect for us on the way out of Waterford along the south coast!
- CHRISTINE (10/5): Excellent Hotel - This hotel is a brilliant place to stay. It is easy to locate, there is a large amount of free easy parking. The breakfast is of good quality, plentiful and well cooked. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is nothing not to like here.
- lalit (10/5): - Excellent place. Would love to come and spend time with grandckids some time.
- Kerstin (6/5): - There was a Bert Loudden noise from an electric fanđ
- David (8/5): - This traditional hotel provided a comfortable overnight stopover en route the West of Ireland from the Rosslare ferry port.
We enjoyed our bar supper and our breakfast but were disappointed there was no fruit at all available at breakfast.
- Victoria (10/5): Lovely hotel in a great location - Lovely hotel just outside Waterford. Very quiet setting surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Friendly welcome from the staff and great service and food in the bar.
Room was a great size, very spacious and very clean. Only negative was the toilet and tap in the sink were constantly trickling water. Only minor things, and certainly didnât hinder our stay.
Would definitely recommend and would stay here again!!
- Kate (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Bradley (10/5): - Great country experience, views of rolling hills yet 10 minutes from downtown Waterford.
- Cam (8/5): - fantastic place
- Mr Martin (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent stay, enjoyable bar and meals plus quality breakfast choices. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Would stay again
- Christian (6/5): - It had a good breakfast.
- John (10/5): - Y
- CAROL ANN (10/5): - Convenient location, great pub and breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff.
- Dennis (10/5): - A very nice hotel with lots of free parking. Location right next to a major thoroughfare made for some noise during the day. However, traffic was almost non-existent after around 11:00 pm. Hotel has a dining room and bar that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dinner options were adequate. We didn't want to drive another 15 km to town to find a restaurant. Their bar was also well stocked. So, there's really no reason to leave the property. Our room was very comfortable. The bathroom had a very nice tub/shower. But there was a problem with the boiler for hot water while we were there. So, we couldn't bathe or shower. The hotel was gracious enough to give us free breakfast the next morning to compensate for the lack of hot water. Overall, a wonderful stay. Would stay there again.
- Charlotte (8/5): - The hotel looked as though everything had been freshly painted and very clean. It was further away from town than I expected but the pub had a lovely ambiance - food was good and the staff was great
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great spot outside of Waterford. Bar was friendly and the breakfast was convenient. Free parking and comfortable beds
- Karren (10/5): Charming atmosphere - The room was lovely, but the pillows were extremely hard, and the mattress was very soft and lumpy.
- Leon (10/5): - It was an older property but the service, cleanliness was excellent
- Joanna (6/5): - The hearing was on overdrive: the radiators were very hot even though the weather wasnât cold. We could not adjust the radiator so we had to sleep with the window wide open and heard traffic and rain during the night that. Wouldnât have disturbed us if the window had been closed.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - There was no lift to the room which was down a flight of stairs from reception. The staff offered to help us with our luggage.
- Jo-Anne (10/5): - We loved this hotel. Beds in family suite were amazing. Tired after our long flight and the beds and bedding were like a dream. So comfortable. Slept soundly. Friendly front desk, restaurant and bar staff. Delicious breakfast
Lots of parking. Wish we stayed longer. Hope to return one day.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Friendly professional and accommodating staff. Nice family friendly hotel.
- Nicolas (8/5): - The food has a poor quality for the price
- Seamus (10/5): - We had an amazing time ,food was class and the band fantastic..staff very friendly. We will be back again
- Verified traveler (6/5): Time warp - A hotel in a time warp. grandeur in the main reception and down hill from there. Tiny , old double bed to sleep in
- Marie (8/5): - The bedroom was cold with no double glazing which meant it was noisy particularly as itâs close to a busy road. Otherwise the food is very good and staff are pleasant.
- Barr Bros Painting (10/5): - Food was excellent. And the staff were brilliant. Would stay there again
- April (6/5): - It was during the heat wave. No fans available, understandable no AC. But was told to just deal with it by the desk person. Opened the window and someone smoking outside our window filling the room w/the smell.
- Rita (10/5): - Lovely place to stay.. Food excellent and staff very nice
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful hotel, wonderful stay/food/staff. I would stay here again.
- Gayle (8/5): - Very quiet, good service. Breakfast was wonderful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed at the Rhu Glenn while sightseeing in the area. Good size clean rooms, that were quiet, despite the location. Easy check in. Food was extremely good and staff exceptional.
- Denise (8/5): Old fashioned home comforts & nice staff - We stayed at Rhu Glenn as our daughters were involved in a Squash competition in Dunhill. They were staying in Waterford centre but we wanted a bit of peace and quiet so booked a hotel a bit further out. Parking is free & there were lots of spaces. We were welcomed by a friendly receptionist & the place was very quaint & old fashioned but in a nice way. It reminded me of a Rugby club or Golf Club. Itâs not modern but it was clean, warm & comfortable. And a good price for food & drink. They had a great singer in the bar that night too. If you want a good price to stay overnight with nice home-cooked food & friendly staff Iâd recommend this place. Itâs a bit like staying at your great auntieâs house but I couldnât fault it.
- PRATHISHAN (10/5): Very nice - Very good. I will return. And recommend
- Josephine (6/5): - We were there for a dance .we had a meal before the dance . Beautiful. Our room was nice and clean. After the dance was over . Came back to our room.. could not get to sleep with the noise from the smoÄ·ing room and the late bar. I did ring down at 1.30 . And spoke to a girl . She said it would be sorted just for a little while
- Dan (10/5): - Beautiful place. The drunks were too loud but hey itâs Irelandđđș
- Anna (10/5): - The staff we very polite, helpful and cheerful. We only stayed one night but they made our stay very comfortable.
- Scottie (8/5): Quiet hotel in nice area nth of city - We enjoyed a good overnight stay and comfortable room
- Bill (10/5): Enjoyable stay. Bar food was excellent. - Stayed there one night. Friendly and considerate staff. The desk clerk apologized for the noise from a wedding reception from the previous evening. Generally, though, our stay was quite enjoyable.
- Bill (6/5): - Hotel was good, but the room was on the front of the hotel and this was next to a very busy road. We had to close the window to be able to sleep but the room was too hot. I asked for a fan to cool the room down but there was none available.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to Waterford and Kilkenny - The food was very good. The staff was very helpful.
- Mary B (10/5): - An amazing place to stay Beautiful and friendly staff
- Beth (10/5): Exceptional service - We arrived after catching the late ferry from Wales. The website (incorrectly) stated that check in was from 7 am. When we approached reception, whilst surprised at our arrival so early, they gave us a pot of coffee, and prepared a room for us by 8.30 am. We were able to catch up on our sleep which was very much appreciated. The staff were welcoming, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Room was very comfortable too, and food great. On a rainy day, we didn't need to leave the hotel. Overall a great place and only a short drive from Waterford.
