- Judith (10/5): Lovely hotel. Very clean and great location. Nice breakfast - Great location. Very clean and beautiful room with comfy bed. My only criticism is that the thermostats were set far too high for our room and bathroom making them uncomfortable. We were able to reduce it via the thermostats, but these were overridden by the next morning.

Good location for walks on the beach.
We didn’t eat at the hotel as we were seeing friends for dinner and breakfast hence we can’t comment on the restaurant.
The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Certain things in the room, toilet, shower, window sill, we’re not as clean as could be. Cleanliness of bathroom.

- Natalie (9/5): - Great location, lovely room, wonderful food and staff.
The restaurant is obviously a local favorite with an energetic atmosphere and most welcoming for visitors.
My room was so comfortable, well decorated, and very functional.
Lovely garden.
I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. It was better than I expected for the price. Nothing to dislike.
- Christian (10/5): -
- deborah (8/5): - Large room with a bath tub in the bedroom, though a separate bathroom with shower and double sink. Nice decor that could do with a bit of freshening up.
- Tracey (9/5): Lovely hotel - Beautiful room. Nothing.
- Sarah (10/5): -
- David (7/5): Room in a pub - Convenient for the ferry. Large room, comfortable bed. It was an accessible room with a low sink etc. it was also a “dog friendly “ room and smelled slightly of dog. A fire alarm at 0100am was annoying and no night manager came out to tell us if it was genuine or not. We had to get dressed, go outside and figure it ourselves.
- John (10/5): - Everything. Couldn’t fault it
- Ian (9/5): Chilled out stay by the beach - Great location, friendly, welcoming staff. Good food Nothing
- Rasa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (9/5): A very large, roomy and comfortable room, with all the facilities you need on-site. - Great hotel, located in a lovely quiet spot. Spacious beautifully decorated rooms, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great bar, outdoor entertaining area and restaurant on-site. On-site carpark available. Nothing really
- Ridout (10/5): Exceptional - Room was comfy and well presented
Staff are friendly and efficient
Food was faultless
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Neil (10/5): - A very enjoyable stay, the room was beautifuly decorated with plenty of space. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Had a meal in the restaurant first evening which was very enjoyable. Great outdoor and indoor space to have a drink. Poole is a lovely area and we thought this hotel was very good value.
- Fay (7/5): Good - Breakfast, scrambled egg cooked perfectly! Good pub food in the evening. Room was pleasantly decorated and was clean. Staff welcoming and helpful. Cleanliness of the main pub rooms and garden could have been better. Rugs within indoor areas were old and thick with dirt. Plastic grass and seating areas in the garden need to be cleared of debris.
- Adam (7/5): Good -
- Keryl (10/5): Great Hotel, lovely rooms, great staff, excellent location - We really loved our stay here. Our room was beautifully decorated and had so many nice touches. Our bed was comfy the bath under the bay window was special. The amenities and the room provisions were comprehensive and top notch. The location was excellent, quiet and close to the beach. We definitely would stay here again. Nothing
- Malcolm (8/5): - Very well run
- Fiona (8/5): Enjoyable stay in a great location - The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is in a good location for visiting Sandbanks and Poole. We had to change our room on arrival as we were put in an accessible room at the back of the hotel. Breakfast could be improved with a bit more attention to detail.
Downstairs is in need of some renovation and tlc.
- Alasdair (10/5): Exceptional -
- Damian (9/5): Really enjoyed the stay and the room was high standard and very clean - Location was great, breakfast was high quality and cooked fresh. Drinks were served and mixed well and reasonable. All staff were courteous and effective. N/A
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gill (9/5): Great location, excellent room - Spacious room
Location Shower temperature was a bit variable
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): Firestick - Staff are worth their weight in gold and the Canford boasts some heavy weights. Take a walk along the nearby promenade and take in the surrounding area and its wealthy residents. Food at breakfast and dinner was superb. This establishment like so many other places is a dog friendly hotel and bar. On a damp day, your nose will remind you. I tried to plug in my firestick at the back of the telly but was put off by the avalanche of dust. Bathroom window is losing the fight against the ivy growing outside. Overall a good stay but keep the pet smells at bay.
- Sue (8/5): Great sleep and lovely staff - Sleeping, the bed was so comfortable and the room was luxurious I missed the simple menu, and was looking forward to the heritage salad and soup, food although cooked well, I missed the old menu, which had a greater variety of lighter bites, no specials either ......
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Gallaya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (10/5): Excellent location clean and nice staff - Great location with parking , great garden rooms and food No coffee late night at the bar
- Richard (10/5): - We had a very enjoyable short stay at The Canford. All the staff were exceptionally helpful, courteous, and friendly (Terry, Ross, Ellie, Lena, Taly). Our room was an Accessible room (although we didn't specifically book one) and was quite large and very comfortable, with a large, well-appointed bathroom. Being accessible it was on the ground floor and very convenient to the car park. The room was spotlessly clean.
We enjoyed two evening meals at the hotel, as well as breakfast both mornings, and the food was great. I have gluten free requirements and they catered for me very well.
The hotel is situated in a very quiet part of Canford Cliffs and is only a short walk (10-15 mins) down to the seafront. It has a large outdoor seating area which I should imagine is lovely in the summer months but could be quite noisy if full. All in all a lovely place to stay near Poole.
- Sue (8/5): Very friendly boutique stye hotel great for lone females very caring -
- Damian (7/5): Disappointing for the cost. - The hotel is in a nice location. However I booked the suite and it was cold. They had left 4 windows slightly ajar which took me about 2 hours to realise but room remained fairly cold. Had fish and chip dinner and wouldn’t recommend. It appeared to me that the fish and the chips had been recooked from earlier but I didn’t complain as I was hungry after 300 miles of driving. Breakfast was fine and staff are good.
- Nigel (8/5): Very good -
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - A very welcoming stay
Great staff , especially the tall , sorry no name , lady who greeted us
Good food and good coffee, not normal hotel stuff
Would definitely stay again
- Nigel (9/5): A very pleasant stay thank you - Great location, good food, clean room and friendly and helpful staff
- Rebecca (10/5): Delightful stay - Beautiful hotel/pub with a great location near the beach. The room was comfortable with all amenities and some lovely personal touches (the toiletries were excellent and the homemade chocolate treats were, well, a treat!) The food in the pub was also great. Will stay again!
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hugh (7/5): Good -
- Helena (9/5): Very good - Toiletries Decaf tea
- Lianne (5/5): No rush to recommend or return - The room decor was great and the cleaner was lovely! She was welcoming and keen to make my stay comfortable. Staff clearly very stretched. Nobody there when I checked in and then they couldn't get the computer to work. I had already checked in online, supposedly for ease, however I had to re-checkin upon arrival which made the whole process long winded and inefficient. I arrived at 3pm (which was the advertised check-in time), but they had to confirm whether the room was ready (it wasn't even fully booked).
It was also the worst experience of room service I've ever experienced. I returned the meal fearing sickness consequences (undercooked meat which is apparently 'how it comes' which is frightening in itself). I was promised a refund which didn't receive until I queried it upon check-out.
The hotel is also pet friendly, which isn't necessarily a problem until you hear barking all night.
The whole experience was a constant.... struggle.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catrin (9/5): Superb - The attention to detail in the room is exceptional. Beautiful furnishings with thoughtful detail. The mini bar and snacks in the room are very well stocked and the toiletries luxurious. Really elevated the stay and made it special. Staff throughout were helpful and friendly. The dinner was ok but not great.
- Martin (10/5): - The property is in a great location amongst some very nice residential property’s. Easy access to the beach, takes less than 5 mins. Staff were so welcoming and treated us so well throughout our stay. A great place to stay in Bournemouth with easy access to the best bits
- Duncan (7/5): Short cold break! - Nice area. Friendly staff. Food quality good. Parking available at property and local roads in places. Bed very comfortable . Bedroom heating difficult to control. Slow service at times. Annoying missing items at breakfast (plates) etc. Billing error resolved but irritating and should have been unnecessary
- Sue (8/5): great and very friendly - Great boutique hotel pub, friendly staff and normally great food. Sadly no hot water so no food and cold showers. The hotel did efficiently contact me, but I decided to carry on with the stay. They were great with helping out with stuff and forgotten stuff.
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liz (9/5): Wonderful stay - We stay here for a few days every summer and winter and love the lively but relaxed atmosphere. Ideally situated for walking along the beach to Bournemouth or Sandbanks. Rooms are spacious with large comfy bed and great shower. Spotlessly clean and the staff are all friendly and go the extra mile. Continues to be a favourite of ours. See you in summer.
- Stephen (10/5): Nice staff location rooms - Room staff location
- Claire (10/5): Really great hotel - Absolutely loved this hotel. It's a beautiful hotel with great outdoor space. The team are so friendly and you just feel so welcome.would love to re-visit
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Nicely done
- Paul (9/5): Lovely pub with rooms - Very pleased to have found this lovely pub with Rooms.
Very welcoming to our two small dogs.
Nice touches in the room for them.
Excellent food and wine list.
Would thoroughly recommend.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (10/5): Highly recommend - Very clean , very homely and a beautiful place
- Caroline (10/5): The lovely Canford - We had a lovely stay at The Canford - beautifully decorated room, comfy bed and lovely bath products. The hotel staff are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely too. Will definitely chose this hotel to stay again when we are visiting Bournemouth.
- Sibold (8/5): A good place regardless of the minor points. Will be visiting again. - Good room, spacious enough. Enjoyed the bath and deco. Location of hotel excellent for our needs (meetings & dinner nearby). Pillows. Replace some of the excessive cushions with a couple of extra pillows (firmer) for those who prefer. Breakfast was perfectly adequate, had better for the price.
- Joanna (9/5): Comfortable and welcoming - Great location, fabulous team
- Caron (9/5): Fabulous cosy home from home vibe - The bedroom was beautiful and cosy and the bath in the room was heavenly! Nothing
