• Caren (8/5): Mittendrin - Das Kandyan Reach war super für eine Nacht als Zwischenstopp. Das Zimmer groß, alles sehr sauber. Gute Lage, man ist ruckzuck mitten in der Stadt. Es hat einen tollen Pool. Und das beste, wir waren zufällig am Valentinstag dort und haben das Valentines-Dinner mitgemacht. So liebevoll geschmückt, ein wunderbares Buffet und sogar eine Rose für jede Dame - ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis.

• Julia (10/5): The staff went above and beyond for our honeymoon - The staff at Kandyan Reach went above and beyond for us! We were only staying for 1 night because the location was convenient for our day trip, but they decorated our bed with the most magnificent peacock display, and even gave us a celebration cake! The food at the restaurant was very tasty, and breakfast was huge! The swimming pool was also a huge bonus. We were so impressed with this Hotel Nothing

• Dr. Holger (6/5): Gut für eine Nacht - Es ist ein Provinzhotel, in das kaum Touristen kommen. Die Lage läßt sich am Besten mit verkehsgünstig bechreiben. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und funktional eingrichtet. Der Pool zwischen den Gebäuden wir sauber gehalten und es gibt 2 Liegen. Für einen Fahrer gibt es Unterkunft ohne Zusatzkosten. . Die Bettlaken waren bei Ankunft zerrissen, wurden aber auf Wunsch ausgetauscht! Das Personal gibt sich Mühe, tut sich aber bei Extrawünschen etwas schwer.

• Kayla (10/5): Amazing in every way. - Okay…we are part of a tuk tuk tournament and stay in new places every night. Today we travelled through Yala, and came here. It’s brand new. I think we are the only guests staying here tonight and maybe the 3rd group who has been here since they opened. Sooooo accommodating, so nice, so pleasant! Prices are great. The pool is amazing. Had beers by the pool and then dinner and everything was just so good. Staff is awesome. I really only have nice things to say. Come stay here!!!

The food was beautiful and the hotel was a real surprise. Beautiful pool area as well as a tranquil casual sitting area with a pond full of large fish. There were several sitting areas. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfy. Very cold air conditioner, room service, and pleasant surroundings. Very close to the train station to Colombo. I was very happy.

The food was good in the restaurant, although the service was slightly haphazard - we ordered the first item on the main menu but something different came from the kitchen.

The breakfasts were excellent. We tried the Sri Lankan and a western breakfast, and on the day we left, we had an "express" breakfast. All good. We ate in the restaurant one evening and it was fine but there are also other options close by. The hotel is located a short walk from the railway station and a 20 min walk into town. The swimming pool was a real bonus as it was lovely, plus it was partly shaded in the afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. Nothing

• frank (9/5): Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder. Nochmals vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft. - Ordnung und Sauberkeit wird in diesem Hotel groß geschrieben. Ich habe mich sehr gefreut. War jetzt zum zweiten Mal in kürzester Zeit da hatte da nichts auszusetzen aber alles okay Begeistert war ich nicht vom Frühstück und vom Abendbrot. Da müsste sich vor internationale Gäste eigentlich in diesem Hotel viel ändern.

Beds were comfortable so had a good night sleep with little kids. Hot water was available and good. Staff had trouble finding the changes I made with occupancy through booking.com had to show proof on my phone of the communication and acceptance . Seems like some information is not flowing through from booking. Com to hotel I was advised by staff.

• Shyamen (1/5): Never again - N/A Room floor was not clean and when walk, feet becomes dark quickly for the dust and the floor was very sticky. Mould in bathroom needs cleaning. Pillows are hard as they are made of hard cushions and cannot sleep. Food is as they advertised in booking.com. Customer pay for the buffet breakfast but they don’t offer a buffet as they stated that not many customers hence the customer only have one choice to select a Sri Lankan breakfast or a English breakfast but both options are very poor quality. They charge money for a buffet but do not offer. Some days their Sri Lankan food is ok but if you asks for meat or fish they may not have sufficient amount for the customer. Staff dining is prioritised in preference to customer dining. While paying customers are waiting, staff get served first. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who seeks cleanliness and good food. It was a big mistake to stay here for more than one night. Sometimes staff talk about guests in Sinhalese using derogatory language and they assume guests cannot understand. They may use ‘aruu’ or ‘muu’ to describe a tourist. Which is not a decent way to address a tourist. Room service staff are not doing their job property and they may disturb you early in the morning before 9am but do not clean the room property. They never touch the floors or do not clean the bathrooms properly.
