• Ashley (10/5): A cute little b&B with lots of personality (and brilliant breakfast!) - The location of this BnB was perfect for my needs. A short walk from the lake, far enough away that the roads were more accessible and quiet and easy to get out to Ambleside etc. The BnB has limited but enough parking, the top car park was a touch tight so large cars would be better in the side car park. The room itself (Number 3) was comfy, with a cosy double bed and a nice ensuite. A perfect place to sit and relax after a long night out at a wedding! The breakfast served was very filling and some of the best food I've had in ages, and the service was very friendly. I'll be back next time I come to lakes!

• Kris (10/5): Peaceful Stay in Windermere - The bedroom was really nice. The bed was really comfortable and there was plenty of temperature control provided, although we didn't need any of it. The breakfast was fantastic, in particular the pancakes. They were some of the best I've had, really fluffy. The staff were really friendly and made sure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. There wasn't anything that was bad here. Only suggestion might be to have some mini bubble baths provided.

• Jonathan (10/5): Lovely B&B in an ideal location. - One of the best B&Bs we've ever stayed in, a lovely experience from check-in to check-out. Owners are lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our short break, including a really luxurious bath which was amazing after a long hike. The bed was very comfortable, and the location was peaceful so we slept really well. Breakfast was exceptional, good choice on a set menu and extremely high quality. Nice selection of cereals, yogurts, etc. available in addition to a cooked breakfast. Location was ideal for our stay, pretty much half way between Bowness and Windermere so either town was accessible for food/drinks. Lots of hiking routes (and obviously Lake Windermere) either a short walk or short drive from the B&B. Secluded enough from main roads though, so very quiet at night which was great. Parking is quite tight, probably similar for other properties in the area though.

Breakfast was very good and room spacious. Nothing really, except the car Didnt like the steep car park at the back of the accomodation. Best to park on the road where there is plenty of space if you have a big car like ours.
• Lydia (8/5): - Breakfast was lovely and location was perfect for both Windermere and the bus down into Bowness or over to Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick Our room at tgd top of house had a bathroom with sink and toilet but Bath with shower head was located in bedroom. This was a problem as I can't sit in and get out of baths easily and standing up to shower was not possible due to ceiling plus I wax worried about getting gloom and carpet wet. Would go again but choose a different room with proper shower.

Lovely breakfast delivered to our room by very friendly staff. In the downstairs bedroom, people do walk directly past the window so shutters need to be closed. It's also easy to hear people outside the room so also made me conscious our conversations or Tv in the room could be heard outside.

She just kept saying check in wasn't until 2.30. this was at 2.05. we went into breakfast room intending to wait. She came in and said the room needed to be set for 2.30 so we couldn't wait. I have diverticulitis and really needed to use the bathroom. Our room was on the ground floor and she said she was cleaning it. She was absolutely adamant I couldn't use the loo

Location is also great and is only a short walk / taxi ride to Windermere and Bowness. Staff are so welcoming too and cannot do enough to help. There is nothing we that we do not like about Rum Doodle.

The location was quiet and perfectly situated between Bowness and Windermere with restaurants and shops 10-15min walk away. The best part of our stay was the breakfast, which was immaculate. • Julie (7/5): Good accommodation for a short stay - There is parking on site, first come first served and it’s fairly local to both sides of the town. The room was clean with everything you can think of provided including wine glasses and a corkscrew! Breakfast is quite late at 8.30am- 9.30am so everyone goes down at the same time and then there’s quite a wait. I appreciate the food is cooked to order and it’s lovely when it arrives but you have to wait for drinks as well. Maybe if drinks were self service it would speed things up a bit.

This is the third time we’ve stayed with you and it didn’t disappoint… Arrived early and was welcomed to park our car at the property and managed to check in so that we had our key. We stayed in room 7, it was nice clean and comfortable . With everything you might possibly need. Amazing big breakfast, both mornings. There’s nothing negative to say about the rum doodle.

• Joshua (10/5): Second excellent stay at the Rum Doodle - Second time staying at the Rum Doodle, rooms are lovely and clean and the breakfast is always excellent. The staff were so welcoming and helped up out if we needed anything. We will be visiting again in the future. Nothing.

• Malcolm (7/5): Bar for the room positioning a great stay . - Very good although I don’t like mushrooms and asked for baked beans and that wasn’t an option it I did get two poached eggs which were delicious Our room was right next door to the breakfast lounge and opposite kitchen so for the guests coming down straight away for breakfast it was noisy so we couldn’t have had a lie in
• Alison (9/5): A really lovely friendly stay in a traditional home - Easy to find, lovely friendly welcome, comfortable room with electric heater, beautiful quality bedding and comfy mattress, fantastic breakfast served in the room, small but modern bathroom with nice hot shower quirky decoration; our room had one wall papered in old maps It would have been nice to have a bedside table on both sides of the bed, with easily accessible plug sockets for phone charging. One side of the bed was particularly difficult to navigate, largely because the four poster bed took up so much space. Staff told us that a replacement bed was on its way.
