The gardens and river are gorgeous, much more than any other pub has to offer, even at the start of April the gardens are stunning with ducks in the river and water trickling down to the old mill. The service, food and drinks were 10 out of 10. As a local to the New Forest myself for 50 years, I have found a place half an hour drive away that I feel like I want to spend a weeks holiday at! I can’t wait to come back again! Im trying to pick holes in something but I can’t, the Old Mill is totally brilliant!

Breakfast was very good The staff were very helpful The Dinner: We decided to take the deal of Sunday Roast and a bottle of wine for £50 The meal seemed to be a reheated version of the midday roast with lots of thick and tasteless gravy. We thought we had simply been served the lunchtime leftovers & that was the reason for the 'deal'. When I mentioned our disappointment with dinner we were given a sincere apology and our bill was reduced.

Dinner was great, I had a simple quick breakfast which was served quickly by very helpful and friendly staff. In the morning the river next to the hotel had flooded the garden, path to the car park and the road. The chef very kindly drove me round to the car park to get to my car. I would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was delicious, and all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. My little dog was a bit too excited during our stay and may have disturbed other guests, for which I sincerely apologize. Thankfully, the hotel is pet-friendly, and I was able to take him for walks nearby to help him burn off some energy. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I originally planned to stay for just one night but ended up extending my stay for two more nights. It was truly a fantastic stay, and I will definitely come back again!

We had a coffee before we left amd waited 15 mins before we went to aee where it was and it was sitting on the bar so we collected it and it was cold. I requested a bath on the booking and there wasnt.one available when we arrived despite offering. to pay extra. The room was tired and needa updating.

- Paul (8/5): Overall good. Will definitely go back, breakfast needs a lot of work. - The room was big, the staff were great. Breakfast was absolutely awful, had three egg omelette with mushrooms and tomatoes. Was like trying to eat rubber. Coffee also really bad. Bitter and not good quality.

- Penny (10/5): It was a luxury stay for our wedding anniversary, and we know we’d like to come back again - The ambience was lovely, it was warm and cosy. Our suite was lovely, the food was amazing and the staff were all really friendly There wasn’t anything we didn’t like

- Lucas (8/5): Overall facilties and staff were excellent, disappointed in some of the food served and cost of same - Staff were really helpful and welcoming. I was up graded as needed a downstairs room. The grounds were beautiful and rooms well appointed, although lighting in the room could be improved. I was situated in a separate building from the main building which has an incline to the entrance so drove my car outside for ease of access. Disabled parking available outside the main building. The bigger car park was accessed by a bridge through the garden to the main building. The annexe was quite although the fire door slammed when closing so had to be aware of this when returning to the room so as not to disturb any other occupants. The price per room was reasonable for two people but I was travelling alone and wanted a double bed, my choice to have the extra comfort. Trying to book online was not straight forward and had to input details several times before it accepted the booking. I had dinner at in the pub and overall the services was good although two of the 6 sea food on the the platter was salty and I think a bit over priced for the dishes served. I have food intolerances and had a reaction to something I ate.
- Michele (9/5): It’s the perfect venue for a weekend getaway to the New Forest - Very beautiful property, the rooms were very spacious and clean and the location was perfect to explore the new forest Not much, the room was a little bit noisy but nothing to be concerned about.
