Guest Reviews
- M1477VZlaural (2/5): Unbelievably bad and dishonest - The staff forced us to pay for 5 breakfasts extra when only 3 people ate, the manager turned extremely rude as we were actually asking to book an extra room dans I had to insist to get a invoice, they also made us to pay for 2 extra local tax (compared to the number of people actually sleeping there), which is very expansive compared to most other European countries, since it is 5% of the room price. Some of he floor agents have been absolutely wonderful and nice, some were acting as if it was annoying for them to say hello, or talk to us and be diligent. We were 5 people staying a full week for a professional trip, which was quite expansive, and were treated like we were not welcomed. Unbelievable.
- chrispQ9198EY (8/5): Functional Budget Hotel - Ticks all the boxes for a budget hotel - clean, quiet (despite the central location) & conveniently located. It's only a short walk to the Hauptbahnhof for trains & trams, with plenty of shops & restaurants near by.
- constanzav233 (8/5): Good Price/Quality ratio - The hotel room was really clean, it had the minimum necessary for a short stay.
I am not giving it 5 stars since the shower door didn't close properly so water could be found outside the shower area, and because even though you had to tell in the reception if you wanted your room cleaned because of Covid, they opened my door when I did not request room cleaning.
- adam772020 (10/5): 3 day break - Great location, value and staff very polite and efficient 👍
A 3 day trip to visit my son who lives in Leipzig. Arrived after midnight but no problem.
Breakfast was also good value and set you up for the day.
- kelvinh264 (8/5): Good typical ibis budget - Great location if you want to be near the main train station as hotel is just a short walk. Chose this hotel due to budget. Did not consume breakfast so cannot comment. Hotel is linked to ibis next door and you can get ice from the bar at ibis. A deposit of 10 Euro is required for hairdryer.
Hotel is a walk to everywhere in the city but basically not much to do in Leipzig. Was there mainly for Bach and Schumann house.
- P1358TJdavidb (6/5): Small, yet great location for central Leipzig - We stayed the the Ibis Budget Leipzig City hotel during our trip to visit the Christkindlmarkt and other sights in Leipzig. We chose the hotel because it is easy walking distance from the train station and center of the city. Our room was clean, combining a lot into the small space including the shower and sink in the main room. It also had a queen-size bed with bunk bed above it. The toilet was in a separate room. While I found the arrangement a bit unusual, it worked. Breakfast was very crowded on the weekend, but on the one weekday we were there. Though I prefer smaller and more homey accommodations, this was a good and safe choice for our first visit to Leipzig.
- L1765XAreneg (10/5): Well-located property with nice amenities and great staff - This hotel is located within walking distance of Leipzig’s Hauptbahnhof, Museum of Fine Arts, and Leipzig Opera. Nearby, there are retail, restaurants, bars, and pedestrian friendly streets. The hotel’s staff provided prompt check in, great daily cleaning, and great local recommendations.
I would return to this hotel.
- JamAv91 (10/5): Football trip - Weekend following my football team in Leipzig, check in was fine, rooms were clean and everything in them needed. But special mention goes to the female member of staff on the Sunday morning, helped with checking in for the flight home on the computer in the reception area, as I don't speak German and with a severe hangover, her English was perfect and helped to translate, we had trouble printing off the boarding cards but she sorted that out on her computer. Great customer service, can't remember her name though, we stayed 02/08/2019 until 04/08/2019.
- Mogeltoft (10/5): A mean lean sleeping machine - Ibis Budget (Leipzig - and anywhere) is like IKEA, the global Swedish furniture store. It’s all about value for money. You get exactly what you pay for, in a decent quality.
When you book a cheapish hotel you (hope to) pay for a good nights sleep in clean and calm surroundings and an efficient bath. That’s what you get at Ibis Budget. Fantastic sleep and a body that smells nice afterwards.
You don’t get fancy decor, comfy furniture and cosy little details. You don’t pay for these extras, price is too low. The room is small, neutral, without any luxury or personalality.
Life is a choice when you are not a millionaire: Do you want to pay for nice food, drinks and fun in the city you are visiting - or do you want your limited amount of money to end in a pricy bed? The choice is yours.
Ibis Budget is nothing more and nothing less than a mean lean sleeping machine. Lowcost!
(Breakfast €7,5 gives you everything you need to get on with the day; even quite nice coffee)
- AntuAntz (2/5): This hotel is a joke - I never a so horrible experience with an hotel . I made the online check in to don’t loose time but when I arrived I had to fulfill anyway the papers and do the check in and they asked me to pay 25 euro more of taxes ! We went after in room to rest but after 20 min they disturbed us knocking at the door ( no phone on the room by the way !) the receptionist say us that they a problem with the online check in, so I had to call my bank visa that certified that all was ok that they made a bad manipulation. So I tell them and give them a code to proove it. Arriving back at hotel in the night we could not come inside , the night porter finally came and told us that we had to pay 98 euro more for the night otherwise no room with our bags and he would call the police ! So I had to pay ! The day after I had to speak with the direction to have back my money and on exchange I received only a coffee for free. The room are minimalistic , the shower is inside the room itself , rooms are really little and bed inconfortable and no hairs dryer and no place to put clothes or bags ! And all that for 135 euro a night ! Is a rip off ! Ok the hotel is in center close the station but we can have others less expensive and with better rooms and service , never again !
- 419rolandk (8/5): Standard Hotel in the City Centre - Standard hotel with simple equiped rooms. Bathroom not divided from the living room. Free WiFi, friendly staff and good prices. Parking space in the hotel. Breakfast for extra fee. Hotel close to the main station and in the City Centre.
- WalterReed (8/5): Great deal in a great location - Great location - centrally located near the train station, central plaza, plenty of restaurants.
Parking beneath the hotel at discounted rate. Check in was easy - staff are friendly and efficient.
Common areas clean and well maintained. Rooms ultra efficient - clean, well maintained. Furniture and linen in good condition. TV, ac/heat, shower and small toilet room. Overall, I rather enjoyed the almost futuristic efficiency - reminded me of the Pod hotel in downtown DC.
Breakfast was good - plenty of options - typical breakfast traffic and mix of europeans bumping into eachother - quite good for the price
Check out was a breeze - great service.
Overall - clean, well maintained ultra efficiency hotel in an excellent location. I would return. I would also recommend to friends and family.
- 537marta (10/5): Nice hotel in the city center - The hotel is situated very close to both the city center and the railway station. The equipment of rooms is simple but cozy and stylish. The staff was really helpful. The breakfast was tasty and good value for the price.
- Mina-Vianne (4/5): Even on a budget you can be hosted better - For just one night it's okay to stay at one of there tiny, almost clinical, rooms. There is no space to unpack luggage. It really is nothing more than a place to sleep.
Basin next to the bed, shower and toilet only recommended for skinny folks.
At least it is clean - but that's about it.
There are much better options at this budget level available in Leipzig.
