Guest Reviews
- Jackie (6/5): - This is a budget hotel and as such you expect a basic room, this is what you will get a very basic room. I was surprised however that the toilet is not really private, a gap in the bottom of the door, this may be an issue for some people. Staff are very friendly, breakfast is good and location is very good, about 10 minutes from one of two metro stations and very close to the canal for nice walks and restaurants and cafes. I would stay in this area again.
- J (8/5): - I was delighted to find hot and cold drinking water provided in foyer and also a microwave. for me this was great as I have limited income.
There was a large grocery store adjoining the hotel and bakeries across the road. Also only a short walk to lots of bars and cafes.
Staff helped immediately when TV handset needed new batteries. Room cleaned daily although I was there 5 days
- William (10/5): - Basic, no-frills, but quiet, a comfortable bed and conveniently located.
- Colin (2/5): - Stayed at ibis budget Paris La Villette 19ème with my family. Location and facilities are fine for a budget stay.
But on Oct 1st, we had a very unpleasant experience with receptionist Ms. Choedon. She first gave us wrong information about breakfast, then later blamed us very rudely and unfairly when we corrected the situation with another staff member.
Very unprofessional behavior that left us uncomfortable. Management should train staff better, as this can ruin guests’ experience.
- Eric (8/5): Would definitely recommend when on a budget - The hotel's location is excellent, close to shops/market and Metro.
The staff is very nice, the room clean and with a good size/ensuite.
The bed mattress and pillows were not very confortable, but were the average of what you would find on any hotel. It's a good price for the location and quality of stay
- Rebecca (10/5): - Excellent affordable and convenient to Metro stn
- Eva (6/5): - The property is in e good location and the price is not bad comparing to Paris standards. There is a supermarket right down and a very nice caffee accross the street with very good espresso and creme brulee. The halls were lucking airing from outside, so the air was very bad. There are good elevators in the hotel. The room had a shower and small toilet separately. The toilet space didn’t have light, although it had a sensor and the water was leaking in the room from the shower. We stayed two nights only and were all day out, so didn’t report the above.
- David (8/5): Paris Jaures area - Good location near to 2 Metro lines serving Gare du Nord. Laumiere bring the nearest. Some nice local bakeries, cafes and bars nearby. There is also a supermarket nearby.
The room was almost as expected although definitely in need of refurbishment as it was tatty. Staff seemed to clean regularly and it smelt nice!
Check in was quick.
I was extremely disappointed than an email sent directly from Hotels went unanswered and this did have an impact on my travel plans. Hotels really should repond to questions as travellers do need to know things in advance.
There are no hairdryers in the rooms but you could borrow one from reception, apparently needing ID to to do so. However this'rule' only seemed to be requested once!
You can leave bags in lockers and there is a fee for this, 4€ for a small bag and 7€ for a! large bag for 24 hours.
All in all the hotel was almost as expected but definitely needed refreshed.
Id possibly stay again as it merry my need
- Zakir (6/5): - For the price or budget it’s quite descent, front desk staff was helpful. Which I did not like about this hotel is - - their pillows was so puffy and blown absolutely awful wasn’t been able to catch up sleep because of the pillow, room get wet after coming out from shower, sink was blocked ( room ) took while to go the water down, room service ladies were not professional By name they knocked on the door and quickly entered the room without giving you a chance to open the door which is very shocking! Even one day we were out but when we returned then noticed our room was tidy that means room service people came in the room while we locked the door before we left still they managed to enter the room can’t believe what kind of service is this!!
- Thi bich lien (10/5): - Foot location
- Nadin (10/5): - We stayed here for a few nights while visiting Paris. The hotel is in a safe area with easy access to public transportation – perfect for sightseeing. The rooms are on the smaller side, but very clean and functional. It’s a great, affordable option if you plan to be out exploring most of the day. Would stay again!
- Dorji (10/5): lovely experience - I had a wonderful experience staying at Ibis Budget with my family. We really appreciated the clean and well-maintained amenities, as well as the hotel's convenient proximity to all the main attractions.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful—especially the Tibetan team members, who truly made our stay special. They always greeted us with warm smiles and went out of their way to assist us, particularly in helping us discover local places of interest, including some excellent Tibetan restaurants.
I highly recommend the Tibetan staff working at the hotel for their exceptional hospitality.
Overall, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Thank you!
- Lauren (8/5): - Easy walk from Gare du Nord safe area. Clean hotel and friendly staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent hotel for a one nighter - One nighter part of a bigger break. Convenient and cheap stay
- Hitesh (10/5): - This hotel is in very good area, perfect for families. Staff are very attentive and very helpful. There are various beautifull parks and behind the building there is canal which has activities for all ages. And near many metro stations.
We enjoyed it very much that we did not want to leave. Will be definitely be coming back.
- Katherine (8/5): - Great Metro Connection nearby friendly staff
- Mohamed (10/5): - Good location
- Matthew (10/5): Paris Ibis Budget - Staff were very friendly, spoke very good english. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and beds made.
- Donald (10/5): Paris getaway - We were very impressed with Ibis Budget La Villette.
Close to the Metro Laumiere Station,
housekeeping every day, excellent buffet breakfast offered and welcoming staff.
The area felt safe, lovely tree-lined street and a convenient supermarket close by.
- Charlotte (8/5): - I wasn't expecting much from a budget hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff at the reception desk were friendly and helpful. The room was easy to access, with several convenient lifts, and it was clean and well-maintained. The location was a major plus—just a short walk from various transport links, including the main rail station in Paris. The only thing I would improve is that we weren’t informed about breakfast options. We could see a food area out of the window but weren’t sure how to access it. Overall, I was very happy with our stay and would recommend it for those looking for affordable yet comfortable accommodations.
- Donna (10/5): - Very attentive hotel staff, very clean
- Chizoba (10/5): - It was good with the budget
- Kelly (6/5): - This is a very basic hotel. It is absolutely fine for just getting your head down after a busy day of sightseeing around Paris but if you are after a luxury stay this is not it. The area surrounding the hotel is not particularly pleasant. I (adult female) was travelling with my two teenage children (15 & 17) who were not keen on getting back after dark hours as it felt a bit unsafe around the hotel. I feel we missed out on a lot of the dusk and nighttime sights/activities as they did not feel comfortable walking around the area at night. Some of the bedding/towels were quite stained also but as said earlier, for a basic & budget hotel, it was as expected.
- Nuriya (10/5): - Bed frame was dirty. Water leaked out of shower onto main room floor. Cleaning lady was rude.
- Candice (6/5): - Very convenient to the metro, Laumiere was so close and usually not busy. Evening staff was very helpful at front desk. Neighborhood was great, lovely fun in the evening. Regular “city noise” at night. Very convenient shops nearby for any needs. Loved the little store across the street that was open late for drinks/snacks when we got back to the hotel late
- florent (10/5): - Quiet - well located and staff is well attentive
- Jonathan (8/5): - Does as expected for a budget hotel. Although still quite pricey. Staff are lovely. The room was decent. Slight downside is the shower right next to the bed. Toilet had a no lock door that was a few centimetres thick. But the major affect on comfort was no A/C. Usually would be fine but when it was 35 degrees it was hard going getting to sleep.
- Adam (8/5): - Great stay!!
- Yaneisy (8/5): - Good stay only one night the rooms was small but very clean. I just recommend if you need a taxi from the reception make sure is a real taxi and the use the taximeter.. other way they will call taxi friend and you are not going to like the price!
- Kevin (4/5): - The shower door did not close all the way so all the water that splashes end up on the room floor even with several towels near the door. Very minimal with no amenities.
- Jennie (10/5): - Clean room, quiet. Basic inside but what you would expect for the money. Comfortable nights sleep. Staff efficient at check in. Small shop next door and nearby bakeries. Would recommend.
- Rebeca (2/5): - My family and I did not enjoy the stay. Traveling with 2 adults and an elderly lady on a wheelchair the room was very uncomfortable and tight. The bathroom was not really accessible for my grandma neither the beds. I understand the Rooms come with a bunk bed but if you are traveling with older adults or elderly person I recommend getting a bigger room. The breakfast area was nice and they offer a big variety of things to eat. For us personally it wasn’t the Best but the place its nice, clean and the lifts work great.
- Tamara (8/5): - We were traveling back and needed an overnight. Entre 2 was wonderful. Fresh fruit and flower market. Coffee and croissants. All were great.
- Maria (2/5): - Worst experience. The towels they gave us were dirty, the toilet door was falling apart.
- Jamel (8/5): - Yes
- Carlos (10/5): - Good location
- Raquel (8/5): - The property worked. Just wish the top bunk bed was made so I didn’t have to assemble it when I showed up at 10:30pm.
- SUSANA (10/5): - Buen hotel para viaje familiar
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Yöpyminen hotellissa sujui hyvin, henkilökunta oli ystävällinen ja huone mukava. Hyvä sijainti
- Sayeed (6/5): - The hotel was average as expected from a budget hotel. It is very convenient for public transport. The metro station is only 5 minutes walk. Lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. about 5 miles from Shamps- Elysees and Eiffel Tower.
- Kelly (6/5): - Everything was fine. The bed was clean. The walls do have some stains and the room is warm but overall I would say this hotel is perfectly fine
- Neil (10/5): - Easy to get to from Paris Gare du Nord. 2 minute walk from Laumière metro to hotel. Room was totally adequate, bed firm but comfortable, good shower etc. Breakfast was good, standard fayre for hotel breakfast in France.
Easy walk to Bassine de Vilette and Buttes de Chaumont. Plenty eateries local to hotel. This is a budget hotel so don't expect luxury, moreover, it seems it is popular with large groups of teenage pupils on school trips etc, so can be a queue for breakfast, served 6am to 10am Mon to Fri, 7am to 10.30 am weekends.
Large Carrefour supermarket right next-door to, great for take away foodstuffs, hot roast chickens etc
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed Mt 4 night stay here and would certainly rebook in the future.
- Andrew (8/5): - The hotel has all that you would expect from an Ibis Budget. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Only downside is the bathroom area - separate toilet is fine, but the shower and basin are in the bedroom, so not great for privacy or using while the other person is sleeping. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Had to pay for lockers to store bags, which seems a bit much. Very convenient for public transport.
- Libby (2/5): - We had a really poor stay for 3 nights in this hotel, the room we got given was dark with only one light, the room was cold and the plug sockets sparked. We moved rooms in which the second one flooded every time we showered, the fire exit sign in the room was lit up 24/7 which kept us awake the whole night and the hotel was loud which meant we struggled to sleep. The rooms do not look like the photos online. The area is okay felt slightly unsafe at night. And the staff were averagely helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Gets the job done - Gets the job done for a few day stay. The room is just the basics.
- Mark (8/5): - Comfortable room and cool area but staff not super friendly
- ESAT (8/5): - Nice clean, easily reachable budget hotel. Had a pleasant stay.
- Fazila (4/5): - Heater wasn’t properly working. The room was too cold. The fire alarm went off 2 twice in our 3 nights stay and once it happened 2.30 am in the morning. We were all scared and my kid freaked out.
- Todd-Hung (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Todd-Hung (10/5): - Close to Metro station.
- JUAN (8/5): - Está cerca del metro
- Sergentu (6/5): -
Affordable accommodation in Paris with very good connections by bus or metro
Easy to find and it has a car park for a fee
-
Window seal was gone, you can hear everything from the street even we were at 4th floor
- Michelle (6/5): - You can barely move in the room as it’s so small. Had a smell of overflowing toilet at all times. Had to spray perfume to lessen the smell
- Claudia (8/5): - Metro Transit is very close to the hotel, rooms are very small, hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Lots of markets and restaurants around the hotel
- David (10/5): Great value and brilliant location - Great location with loads of bars and restaurants close by. Short walk to 3 metro lines, lovely lake with nice walks behind the hotel.
- Andrew (8/5): - The hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful. Accommodation was clean and tidy although a bit of maintenance in room could be better. I.e shower door hanging off mount although still functional. The surrounding area is quite quiet with various types of places to eat although only one or two that stood out from the crowd. Not much for the tourist to see in this area but cost effective area to stay with good metro/rail options available to get around the city quickly. Would use again.
- Fiona (10/5): Cheap and cheerful - Convenient for metro transport, the room was basic but clean, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was great. We didn’t like the lack of privacy of the shower/ toilet facilities, and the street noise was an issue. However, it was very reasonably priced for a Paris hotel.
- Stephen (8/5): - Had a lovely 3 night stay here A**
- Wai Kau (6/5): Overall is okay - The hotel is near by metro station. There is a supermarket next. Overall is okay but there is very noisy around even at midnight. And you need to borrow the hair dryer for only one hour every time.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Super budget, super clean and easy
- amoun (6/5): Okay stay - It’s was an OKAY stay.. breakfast selection not the best, boiled eggs only very cold as well. Other options were quite weak. Wouldn’t recommend opting for breakfast unless of course it’s really cheap.
It’s close to metro which was a bonus and behind the hotel is a lovely French river/ lake which was beautiful. It’s in a good location. No parking
- Milan (6/5): - Location was good. A five minute walk to the nearest Metro (Lumieare), and only 3 stops from Gare Du Nord train station. Room and hotel facilities can do better - there were no tea/coffee making facility in the room or the reception, had to go to a cafe to get the morning coffee
- Kirsten (10/5): - This was good for a shot stay. Clean and safe. Easy to get around.
- ricardo (6/5): - The hotel was clean and staff friendly. Location a bit too far from city center.
Economical price for a family of 3
- Bertha (8/5): - It was a good budget option for the price, the area is not the best if you are a solo female traveler.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Served it’s purpose - Booked this hotel due to low price and proximity to metro. It’s a typical no frills budget hotel which served us well for the 3 nights we spent here. Would happily stay here again at that price.
- Michael (6/5): Ibis La Villette 19ème - Good value. But a basic budget room. Not up to the full Ibis standards. WiFi reliable. No safe in the room. No room card required for elevator so anyone can walk around which is a safety issue. The room doors need to be adjusted so they don’t slam shut and wake you up. My neighbours were constantly coming and going and slam, slam, slam. Grocery store next door. Overall: functional and utilitarian hotel with no ambience. Bare pass
- Paul (10/5): - Overall the place was clean and a good place to rest your head.
- Laura (8/5): A simple but good stay - Basic but have everything that we needed for a simple stay.
Fire alarm on night at 2.40am (not so great!).
Towels small. Shower directly into the room. But it was great for transport links and had everything my 10 year old and I needed. Someone came and fixed our tv when it wasn't working.
- Alison (6/5): - The property is old, basic and very budget. If you keep this in mind then it’s an ok stay. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- Chun Kwok (4/5): - Although I tried to adjust the air-con, but the room was still too hot. If you open the window, it just to noisy.
No hair dryer in the room. You need to borrow from front desk and return within 1 hour.
- David (6/5): - It was a Buget hotel --- so you get what you expect. Had a bed and a bathroom which was all we really needed.
- Catherine (8/5): - A friendly welcome, clean rooms.
- Yasmine (6/5): - Great area, nice people, good breakfasts. However, one of our rooms had feces on the toilet seat when we checked in, and the bathrooms left a lot to be desired, with a toilet door that didn't close well and a see-through shower door that led directly into the bedroom - okay for the mother of the family, but not great privacy-wise for the father and daughter. The towels were very small and thin, and the air-conditioning didn't cope well on a hot night.
- Dennis M (8/5): - Staff was helpful but not very nice
- Sai Manoj (4/5): OK Hotel - The hotel was OKish and the room is too small for anyone. The service was OK, close to the metro station but the room or hotel is not family or child friendly. Some people were knocking in the middle of the night.
- Daryl (6/5): Shameful service - The hotel itself considering the price per night was not horrible. The bed is a platform bed with an inexpensive topper to try and aid in comfort. If your expecting even a mediocre continental breakfast don't stay here. I guess they are all the same at this price range so if you love bread your in the right place. My company by accident booked me at the wrong hotel and I didn't realize it until the next day. The airline had also lost my baggage so I didn't want to move until I had my belongings. I knew that there was no refund but still asked about moving to another ibis but walking distance from my customer. They were extremely rude so I contacted Hotels.com to try instead, must be an american thing. While standing at the desk and the lady calling the front desk I witnessed them purposely answer but then immediately transfer the call to a fax line. Since I was stll chatting with the lady from hotels.com I asked her to verify that it was her calling. Long story short, I did end up moving to the other hotel once my luggage showed up and though the ibis staff said they would not refund it took a few days but they did end up giving me a refund for most of my trip or days not stayed. But my gosh what an absolute pain in the rear. I wasn't asking for anything special and actually told them they could keep it I was simply asking. Four trips to Paris and all extremely unsatisfied. Is it an American thing?
- Anand (4/5): - Staff was rude, treated us like potential thieves, asking us to deposit our passports to borrow a hair dryer. Filthy hotel, zero amenities. Never again Ibis.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Price is good, location is not, if you are not used to walk( a lot)
Hotel was clean, we got a bunk bed, room is small
Lobby staff were helpful, they called a taxi for us on our check out at 5 am
10 min far from Gare du nord ( in car) in the night , on day it could take more time due traffic
There is a market at the end of the street closing around 9, and also there is a store across from hotel I saw it opened at 1 am, I’m not sure if it keep open 24 hours, very convenient
Shower door it’s transparent and you can see it from your bed, one towel per person.
This city is beautiful but his metro and train stations could be very stressful if it’s your first time visiting, be prepared
I recommend this hotel to couples, solo travel, people who likes to walk or feeling comfortable taking buses, metros doing a lot of steps , most of elevators on train and metro station don’t work
I went with my parents here and it was difficult going from one place to another
- Ho Bun (10/5): - Nice convenient place to stay near Gare du Nord, room was a bit basic and would be nice to have a kettle or a couple of more sockets at least
- BRIAN (8/5): Good for what you pay for - Basic Ibis hotel which was fine for what you paid for. Staff was fine and helpful. Breakfast was decent and convenient to have in the hotel. Neighborhood was not too bad and had a grocery store right next to hotel (which I used).
So, for an affordable hotel right in Paris, and close to Gare du Nord, if you are on a budget it was fine.
- stephen (8/5): Comfortable Stay - Hotel is what you expect from a basic hotel breakfast is good. Staff friendly. Room cleaned everyday with fresh towels
- James (6/5): Putting the "budget" in "ibis budget" - I was quite disappointed with my stay here.
Getting into the room was fine: it's only a short walk from Laumiere metro station, staff were quick and courteous, three elevators make access easy, no problems. There are plenty of nearby cafes and restaurants within walking distance and a supermarket in the same building complex for supplies. For the return journey it was just 10 minutes from Gare du Nord for the Eurostar.
Unfortunately, the room itself was really disappointing and starting to show its age. Splitting the bathroom into a separate toilet and shower with a sink in the main room is very unusual, and when the shower leaked at the bottom it meant water in the main living space. The toilet door slammed shut. The window was large but chilly and let in all the street noise. There was no soap in the shower, and when I moved the dispenser to have it filled up, it was thrown away by the cleaner. The towels were smaller than you'd expect and there was no hand soap for the sink.
I would not choose to stay here again, and at £130/night I would have expected better than this, but the price seems entirely down to its location which is admittedly excellent. Oh well, c'est la vie.
- Lorraine (8/5): Clean and comfortable - Check in quick and straight forward. Room on third floor with three lifts available. Room size was perfect for one night. Clean and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice and vibrant area for a family stay - Great location, close to metro stations and the canal. Lots of restaurants nearby. Supermarket is just downstairs, very convenient. We were worrying about the safety given it is in the 19th assortment before we go, but it turned out to be a very safe environment, even at night, lots of activities along the canal during the day and in the evenings. Great value for the price.
Only minor thing was that the breakfast paid apparently was only for 2 adults although hotels.com said 3 people, child was actually not included. So you might want to book without breakfast but pay later when you get there.
- Cynthia (6/5): - Rooms are VERY small. Bathroom facilities are minimalist, to put it kindly. Make sure your roommate(s) are comfortable listening to your toilet noises and seeing you doing your toilette because the door to the toilet doesn't go from floor to ceiling and has no latch. The door itself is 1/4 inch thick. The sink is in the room itself, as is the shower. Each part of the bathroom is sufficient, but only sufficient. If you're a person living in a heavier body, you'll likely be very uncomfortable.
The photo shown is NOT the front of the hotel, so don't expect anything as pretty as what is depicted. That said, the hotel is in Paris, and that can be enough to make up for what is lacking in the hotel. Ahh, Paris!
- Lorna (6/5): - I didn't like the jack hammering going on beside, above and around our room. We were looking forward to rest upon arrival. We were met by a condescending employee. When we asked how long the jack hammer was going on for he just shrugged. When I asked if they had a time in mind, he rudely said it will stop sometime. All the hotel needed to do was say the jackhammering will be present from 9 to 12 or whatever time. At least we could plan accordingly. But they did not care. Would not stay at IBIS again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great price vs value.
- Nelly (10/5): - Excellent value
- Nelly (10/5): - Tres bon rapport qualite prix. Une tres bonne adresse!
- George (8/5): - Very close to the metro station and surrounded by restaurants and cafes. The only problem was the air conditioning that did not work. Even though it was winter, the room was very hot. Still it was a good choice for a few days in Paris.
- Ian (8/5): - Stay ok basic room
However bathoom on door side covered in dust air filter very dusty
And sink no plug
- Max (8/5): Fine apart from the coffee - All together what I expected in general. The breakfast was fine apart from the VERY bad coffee - it really wouldn't be difficult to improve this, several people around me were complaining also
