Guest Reviews
- Andy (7/5): Suitable for a short stay. Beaumaris is a lovely place. - great location. reasonable value. pleasant staff. The whole place needs modernising. Beds were very high, wardrobe was huge. Parking was suitable for small cars ( very tight!) No evening meal available.
- Colin (8/5): Great location - Location great, friendly staff. Breakfast good Option for dinner and drinks finished early when we stayed. Shower basic
- David (9/5): One night stop. - Good sized room (Room 1) and comfy bed. Limited car park.
- Shelton (9/5): Great stay apart from low beams in bedroom. - Staff and breakfast were excellent. Location also good. Not informed of low ceiling when booking. So bumped head on beams when getting up during the night.
- Barbara (10/5): Excellent - The Bishopsgate Hotel met all our expectations, staff friendly food exceptional Nothing
- Brocky (9/5): - The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The place was spotlessly clean and the food was excellent. Would recommend highly.
- Joanne (8/5): Good value for money and an interesting history. - The location is great and includes free parking.
The room was cosy. Small but comfortable. I was offered a double room instead of the single I'd booked, but I declined so it's my own fault!
Useful to have some toiletries provided.
The staff were lovely - very friendly and welcoming.
Very interesting history of the building.
The breakfast was good.
Good value for money. The bed was a bit uncomfortable for me and the room was very warm.
An extra electrical extension lead would have been useful.

An amazing room ( no 9) with a view of the sea and a deep bath as well as a shower The chef went the extra mile and provided a fantastic dinner for a friend with allergies . The wine selection was extensive . Beware you will put weight on if you stay here too long! Nothing could be better

- Linda (7/5): Disappointing wouldnt go again to Beaumaris but its a good base to travel . Hotel is in ideal spot. - Location, staff very helpful and friendly and food was good quality. Very clean and dog friendly.
Evening meal on Tuesday of Welsh lamb was amazing. Hazel is a brilliant chef and hostess. Decor very old fashioned
Ran out of yoghurt
Charged for sparkling water when asked for it instead of juice tea or coffee

- Udall (10/5): - Just so friendly and professional
- Simon (10/5): Amazing hotel, extremely friendly and helpful staff. - Honestly cannot fault any of the staff or the hotel on anything. We were running late and so they called us to see what time we might arrive. Upon arrival we were advised that the kitchen was mostly closed but they were happy to do something for us - this was gone 9pm so was not expecting that at all.
The whole hotel was amazing, all of the staff were excellent, friendly and beyond helpful, cannot rate everyone higher
We had a meal in the restaurant on Valentine's and they managed to squeeze us in as a last minute booking, The food and experience was amazing, as was the breakfast options in the morning.
Room was well proportioned with lovely decoration and was comfortable through out. The bed was nice and comfortable and the shower hot. Nothing really, if I was pushed and had to be picky, the car park is a bit tight, but then given the historic nature of the hotel it was not exactly built for the ever larger modern car so can't really hold it against the hotel
- Nicola (10/5): We had a very pleasant stay, the staff were very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The location is amazing g, - It’s charm, staff and location. Nothing.
- Zoe (10/5): It was very welcoming - My stay was fabulous.
I received a friendly greeting when I first arrived and offered an up grade.
I had a fabulous sea view from a very comfortable room.
Everything about my visit was lovely.
Not forgetting the gorgeous resident dog 😁

Very helpful in every way & always available when needed even when we checked in late after 9pm ! Comfortable four poster bed, big spacious room & blankets. Breakfast was spot on & the quality of the food ingredients wowed us.The sherry in a decanter & chocolates as a welcome gift was a surprise bonus. There is even an ice machine on a table on the landing if you needed ice. Highly recommended & definitely will stay again.

- Anthony (9/5): - The staff were all warm, friendly and attentive with a special mention for the manager Mel.
Food was excellent and plentiful with a lovely homely dining room and attentive staff.
The grade 2 listed building was kept immaculate and I felt like I was on the set of Poirot!
Nice visitors car park at the rear and perfectly located for sight seeing. The attic rooms are not recommended for tall people although all around the bed the headroom was ok. The window is very small so the room got very hot at night. The shower cubicle is ok for a standard sized person but larger and taller folk may find it restrictive.
- Barlow (10/5): Felt looked after from the minute we arrived until checkout.. Oh.. And loved taking Ringo for his wa - The breakfast was perfect.. Nothing too much trouble.. Had an evening meal too.. Exceptional
Can't fault it Nothing felt look
Nothing

- Oliver (9/5): A really good find. - A super hotel with very friendly and helpful management and staff. Our room was magnificent, overlooking the main street but no noisy. The hotel no longer serves dinner but the staff were most helpful in recommending places to eat that were very close by. Nothing
- Kent (10/5): One of the best nights we've had away so chilled and relaxing - The host was absolutely brilliant and it was nice being greeted by there lovely dog.
Location was perfect everything was with in a 5 minute walk, definitely coming back. Nothing at all

- Nigel (8/5): - the hotel was comfortable.
the breakfast choice was good
staff were very pleasant
park8ing was good although tight.
- Glenn (7/5): Good stay with friendly staff. - Great location in Beaumaris. Restaurant was not open during our stay. So couldn’t get lunch or dinner which was a shame.
- Lorraine (10/5): Cosy, fantastic location with delicious breakfast and friendly/ warm staff. - It was in the town centre so easy to walk around the town, close to the sights, beach, cafes, castle and the old gaol. The very comfy bed and aesthetics of beautiful traditional furniture in my room. I loved the scented roses at the breakfast table. 💐Car parking at the back too. Some may say it’s an old building but I wouldn’t say that made it any less like lovely.
- edwin (10/5): - host and staff excellent room 👌👏👍
breakfast was great
ate evening meal, which was really lovely 😍 nothing
- Helen (8/5): - Great location and welcome when we arrived. Loved the ice machine!
The on-site parking was very much appreciated. I just found the very high beds a bit odd. I think that elderly patrons would find them hard to get into and out of.
- Michael (10/5): Excellent place. We will definitely stay here again! - The property is an old building on 3 floors. Very comfortable with excellent staff.
Very handy car park to the rear.
Hotel very well placed on the high street & very close to the promenade.
Breakfast was of a very high quality & the evening meal was excellent! Only because of my current medical conditions I would have preferred a room no higher than the first floor, but no real problem.
- Jean (7/5): Great location and value for money. - Great location, staff fab, breakfast was excellent!
- Ian (9/5): -
- Dale (8/5): -
- Eifion (10/5): - Exceptionally friendly welcome and service from Hazel and the team. The room was beautiful, charming and full of character. The SMEG kettle and teapot were a thoughtful touch. We enjoyed the freshly cooked breakfast, although it’s a pity that the restaurant isn’t open in the evenings any more. Overall, thoroughly enjoyable and we won’t hesitate to return.
- John (7/5): - The location was excellent. The breakfast was very good and the room was comfortable. The bar was very expensive. The taps in the bathroom were unpredictable and the sash cords were broken on the windows.
- Susan (8/5): -
- Malder (10/5): -
- Lorraine (10/5): - Character building and convenience
- Bev (6/5): Beaumaris weekend - No.restaurant. as.described

- Leigh (9/5): - Accommodation and food excellent value for money
- Jill (8/5): Lovely location, lovely staff, lovely breakfast! - Location was good & parking available.
The breakfast was very good, plenty of choice & table service. We had an attic room & it was difficult to stand up!.
Bathroom was tiny & the door to shower didn't close & bathroom door didn't close either.
This room, though quaint, clearly needs an upgrade!
- ELERI (10/5): - Excellent breakfast
- Julie (10/5): Perfect hotel, perfect location! - Location was perfect! Few minutes walk into the town or the sea. Mel on reception was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Room perfect and had everything I needed. Would love to stay here again! Highly recommended! Nothing! It was perfect.
- Neil (10/5): - Tight parking but very welcome in Beaumaris. Breakfast was excellent with very friendly and efficient staff . Chef was on holiday so no evening meals. Everyone deserves a holiday. I have been going to Beaumaris for 25+ years and know it very well and can say that the Bushops Gare Hotel is a place I would recommend.
- Lee (9/5): - Good location and dog friendly
- Julie (10/5): We can’t wait to return - This is a beautiful hotel, full of charm, with those little details which make it super comfortable and welcoming Nothing
- Natalie (10/5): -
- Dominic (10/5): - This hotel is clean throughout. The rooms are comfortable as are the beds. The real selling point of this hotel is its staff. Everyone we met was polite, friendly and went out of their way to make our stay the best experience possible. If the restaurant is available during your stay we would recommend you eat there. Breakfast is plentiful and freshly prepared whilst the evening meals are better than many expensive restaurants. Book this hotel and you will not be disappointed.
- Lauren (8/5): -
- DAVID (8/5): - very central and free parking. VERY good and friendly staff, and keen to help in any way.Breakfast was excellent and many choices. TIMES HAVE CHANGED, NO EVENING LIFE IN THE TOWN.AFTER EVENING MEAL NO WHERE TO HAVE A DRINK WITH ANY ATMOSPHERE . ALL PUBS EMPTY !! .THIS MUST BE DOWN TO PRICES. (2 PINTS LAGER/BEER 10-12£,MEDIUM WINE 5-6£) COMPARE TO SUPERMARKET PRICES.
HOWEVER WILL RETURN TO BEAUMARIS AS IS CENTRAL TO BEAUTIFUL AREA AND WILL PROBABLY STAY AT BISHOPS
- David (8/5): - Room and bed comfortable. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food options for me (vegan) good. Great location for access for the town. Good parking at hotel.
- YorkieTash (10/5): Beautiful hotel, idyllic location & welcoming staff. Dog-friendly and gluten-free breakfasts. - STAFF are so down-to-earth and can't do enough for you. Special mentions go to: - Tracey, who checked me in & made me feel welcome, served me breakfast and went out of her way to chat to me when she realised I was travelling alone.- Melanie who checked me out, made sure I'd enjoyed my stay and posted my smart watch charger back home to me free of charge when I left it behind. Great team who really care!
DOG-FRIENDLY rooms are available (with a £10.50 charge), dogs can sit with you for breakfast in the bar (always appreciated!) and water bowls are around downstairs. Tracey made extra effort with my dog Hector and even offered to hold his lead whilst I got my things out of the car. Truly dog-lovers. There are also areas for other guests to sit separately from dogs if they prefer this, too.
PROPERTY: beautiful building from the outside and the decor inside was like staying in a much more expensive boutique hotel! I really liked that the sink was separate and next to the sash window. It made me feel like I was a grand lady visiting a country house!
After staying at different hotels on previous nights of my trip, this was the best night's sleep I had. I felt so cosy in my bed and didn't want to leave!
FOOD: Breakfast was delicious, though, so it was worth getting up for that! Gluten-free sausage and gluten-free toast were available, which I ate safely and enjoyed immensely. Proper coffee from a cafetiere and juice offered alongside this.
I had been told upon booking that the restaurant at the hotel wouldn't be available for meals when I visited and also reminded again a week before travelling. I was given helpful suggestions of nearby places that I could eat instead. One of which was the Liverpool Arms next door, who again had gluten-free options. I really appreciated this heads up.
LOCATION: Beaumaris is beautiful! The hotel is in a prime location just a few minutes' walk to the seafront, pier, and the castle. Nothing! Except that I couldn't stay longer :(
- Colin (9/5): - Breakfast was very good, staff were really nice and helpful A bit old fashioned, carpet looked it was about 30 years old. Also bar was open 3-7 , so not open in the evening
- Gwyneth (10/5): Nothing to much trouble for the staff to ensure we enjoyed our stay - Everything was perfect for our stay Nothing
- Debbie (10/5): Fabulous accommodation in great location!! - Perfect location, few seconds walk from all the shops, 1 min walk to pier, 5min walk to castle. car park on site, our room was a great size, tea, coffee, water & biscuits in room. Older property but suited the village. Great breakfast, evening meal in restaurant was outstanding. Super friendly team !!! Can’t fault anything about our stay at the hotel.
Great bakery 2sec walk from hotel.
- Linda (8/5): -
- John (8/5): -
- PATRICIA (10/5): Would stay again great for a weekend relaxing getaway - Close to all amenities. Car parking available at Hotel. Would prefer a walk in shower. Struggle with shower over bath but was aware of this when I booked.
- RAMERA (8/5): GOOD POSITION - Nice room, good breakfast and useful the private parking
