Guest Reviews
- Robert (10/5): - Convenient to friends property clean and comfortable staff friendly breakfast unbelievable will stay again
- David (8/5): - Great base for Goodwood.
- Randal (10/5): - This is a 17th century pub with rooms above. The only reason i gave the property condition 4 stars is because it is not air conditioned. It is a quaint fun place to stay in a very old English village. The pub and associated restaurant are excellent.
- Helen (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay. Room was very clean and comfortable, and staff were friendly. Food at the pub was lovely. I would definitely recommend
- Karen (10/5): - We had a great night. Made to feel very welcome. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again ehen in the area.
- James (10/5): - Great place to stay with comfortable rooms, great food and good beer - very enjoyable 😊
- Joan (10/5): - Excellent food, Excellent hospitality thank you very much. Hope to be back.
- John (10/5): - Very reasonable priced
Great breakfast
- Jeremy (10/5): - The Brewers Arms has large, comfortable rooms, nicely decorated and maintained. It's a historic building so corridors are narrow, stairs are steep, doorways low and there's a bit of road noise through single glazed windows, but it is a charming pub with great beers and food and excellent staff.
- Joshua (10/5): - A very nice and quaint area which I have never visited before. Lovely staff to accommodate my late arrival! Easy to use, and no problems at all with the facilities. Parking wasn't obvious at first glance, but despite parking on a hill, managed to find a spot of free parking opposite the pub.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value hotel - Good value in comparison to other hotels in the area. Excellent, warm welcome and good service throughout. Staff efficient. Bathroom spacious and clean. Free parking available but in a public car park about a 400m walk from the hotel. Food menu good. Location in a small medieval village offers interesting walks. Stayed here before and would stay again.
- David (10/5): - Friendly staff comfortable room very nice pub
- Caroline (10/5): - The food was excellent. My room was very nicely appointed and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend
- Jason (10/5): - Lovely place and made very welcome
- Mrs Janet (10/5): Superb experience - Spotlessly Clean pub and restaurant and outstanding clean comfortable original room. Excellent food, helpful friendly attitude from staff. Over all Superb.
- Sue (10/5): - Perfect for a night after a wedding nearby. Flexible about check in. Clean comfortable room and bathroom. Great cooked breakfast. Staff friendly and welcoming. Thank you!
- Charles (10/5): Really good pub and restaurant - Two night stay on a business trip so not looking for anything fancy, just a comfortable place for the nights. Nice old pub, good size room with large bath/shower and the usual tv, kettle, etc.
Restaurant was a surprise - interesting menu, reasonably priced and really good food. Not the usual pub microwave fare but well cooked fresh food which I thoroughly enjoyed.
- Paul (10/5): - Stayed one night to attend a wedding at the white barn which was very easy and quick to reach from the Brewers Arms. It was a very easy and quick check in, the room was excellent as was the breakfast.
- Paul (10/5): All hotel rooms should be this good - I am delighted to recommend The Brewer's Inn. Comfortable bed, enough tea/coffee etc., sensible tap for kettle filling, large bath/shower, sufficient towels and a towel rail near a radiator, easy access wardrobe, excellent dinner and breakfast. Why aren't all hotel rooms as well designed? I would recommend fitting a grab rail for the bath. I was helped with my luggage as well. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels. This is one of the very best. Many thanks.
- Geoff (10/5): Attractive Old Cask Ale Pub in the Village Centre - We stayed here while attending a gig at the nearby David Hall. Attractive old pub with rooms and restaurant in the centre of the Village. Very busy on a bank holiday Sunday with a singer in the bar.
Large yard and garden area, some of which is covered. It's a CAMRA award winning pub providing a good range of real ales and a discount for CAMRA members so bring your card. There's no on site parking but a free public car park is close by.
We had a large room with ensuite which was road facing. However, no noise issues as the village was very quiet at night. No issues regarding cleanliness. Opening window was a good feature which is becoming increasingly rare due to air conditioning. The mattress was a little firm for our taste (we like soft) but would probably suite most people. The bedrooms are on the first floor up fairly steep stairs so would not suite some people with mobility issues.
Large, cooked to order, traditional breakfast was excellent. My network (O2) signal was very poor anywhere in the village but the pub does have free Wi-Fi.
We would stay here again.
- Marion (10/5): Will be returning! Brilliant short break. - Fantastic, friendly service from Ali. Food in the restaurant was good quality and value for money. Great full english breakfast that set us up for the day. Comfortable rooms with exceptional beds and pillows.
Will be returning as The Brewers Arms is a gem!
- Jason (10/5): - Stayed here 2 nights . The bed ,pillows and bedding are all good quality and very comfy . Lovely people work here aswell . Overall I have no complaints . Very happy ,lovely stay.
- Chris (10/5): - Excellent stay, friendly staff and great service
- Roger (10/5): - Staff very friendly, excellent menu which included lots of gluten free choices (wife a coeliac). Village lovely.
- Claire (10/5): Excellent!! - Excellent stay. The staff couldn't have been better, from checking in to checking out. I really couldn't fault a thing. We will definitely be back!
- Shaun (10/5): - Made a good overnight stop on my trip very happy to use again
- HAZEL (8/5): - We arrived at peak restaurant/bar/pub time, so were welcomed and shown to our room very promptly. There was no onsite parking, as it was a Saturday afternoon we could park in the restricted zones nearby without penalty. The place is located in a cute little village with few shops. Our room was very clean and well presented, an old building with uneven floors. With the pub downstairs we could hear a bit of noise but it wasn't bad at all. The helpful lady who escorted us to our room said if we were quick we may still get a table for dinner and gave us alternatives if we couldn't. When we went to ask for a table, the manager was less helpful, & stressed and told us 'no chance'. We had to drive for a few miles to get a table elsewhere. Best to check first and book ahead, with very few options these places get booked up.
There was a nice breakfast room and they offered whatever you fancied for breakie which was also good. This place is small & cosy, very well kept with every space inside and outside prepared for guests. It is not a place for wheelchairs and older people may struggle with the stairs or noise. But we do recommend as good value.
- Emma (10/5): - My Husband and I stayed the night as we were going to a Wedding, I contacted the Brewers Arms to see if we could drop our overnight bag and check in earlier, The staff were very helpful and kind, room lovely and clean and amazing Breakfast. Thank you all
- M (8/5): Brewers Arms B & B - First time stay, room was very clean and tidy, staff friendly and polite, would definitely stay again.
- David (10/5): A great find ! - For a busy pub location I found the only problem was the parking issues. You may have to do a few circuits around the streets to find an overnight space. This will vary depending on your time of arrival. A steep flight of stairs to the rooms is also not for those with walking aids etc.
The room was clean - not tired like a lot of rooms in this price bracket. The Breakfast was superb and freshly cooked.
All in all I would recommend and definitely stay here again
- Rebekka (10/5): 10/10 - What a fantastic visit. The accommadation was very well presented, clean and tidy. Although above a pub, from the room you could not hear any of the noise from downstairs. The dinner menu at the pub was varied, well priced and the food itself excellent. But the thing that made the stay at the Brewers Arms exceptional compared to other places i have stayed was the hosts. As a female solo traveller, i felt safe from the moment i walked through the door. Everyone was very accommadating and friendly. I would definitely if given the chance again, stay at The Brewers Arms.
Thank you for a wonderful few days away.
- Andrew (8/5): Brewers Arms, South Petherton - A comfortable good-sized en-suite room. Service was excellent, as was the breakfast.
- paul (10/5): - Clean comfortable, great food
- Richard D (10/5): - Great pub with very welcoming staff. Room
was clean and comfortable with an excellent breakfast!
- Deborah (10/5): - Very nice and friendly pub. Steak meal delicious.
- Brian (10/5): Brewers arms - Easy to find, great reception, warm and friendly. Room excellent, great facilities, very fluffy towels. Comfortable clean bedroom. And probably the best English breakfast I've had.
- Neville (10/5): Excellent Overnight Stay - Room was ready on arrival and very well presented. Staff available to show me the room and arrange for me to have dinner. Dinner was excellent (special of venison, plus vegetables, sweet potato followed by mixed fruit creme brulee.). Bar was lively but no noise to prevent a restful night. First class full English breakfast. All staff very pleasant and friendly. Interesting location in a beautiful village.
- Daniel (8/5): Good value - Good value stay at the Brewers Arms. The room was quiet despite being above the bar. Not the warmest of welcomes but perfectly fine for the price.
- paul (10/5): Exceeded my high expectations - I was originally unsure about staying at the Brewers Arms as it doesn't have parking. I thought I'd give it a go and i am so glad i did. The rooms are comfortable, comfy bed and plenty of drawers. A fan in the room was useful. Bathroom good but could do with an anti slip mat for the shower. The room was quiet despite the bar and restaurant below being quite busy. The breakfast is amazing, and a lovely setting looking out over the garden. The evening meals are reasonably priced and excellent quality. Service was good and all the staff were welcoming and friendly, but its a busy restaurant as it's only open for 3 hours in the evening so get in early! Having said that my meals came out promptly and beautifully presented. I cannot fault this place. Plenty of big screens for watching football, one outside ! A lovely friendly atmosphere. I'm certainly staying again.
- victor (10/5): - owners very friendly breakfast was lovely
- Alice (8/5): - Good sized room which was clean and comfortable. Pub busy until about 1130pm but not too noisy in the room.
- Pauline (10/5): Weekend stay - Really lovely pub with a great team and the rooms were lovely.Happy to recommend.
- Tracy (10/5): - Lovely welcoming Owner and Staff.
Very accommodating. Good dining options.
Beautiful quiet setting and historic buildings.
Thank you
- Keith (10/5): Highly recommended - A friendly local pub (serving some good real ales too), in a nice little village, just a minute from the A303. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Special mention is needed about the food, which was superb! I would recommend booking a table in advance though, as it was fully booked for later in the evening that we stayed - the locals obviously know how good it is too!
- Andrew (10/5): - Absolutely nothing wrong with the
- Caron (6/5): - Service was very abrupt at our evening meal and felt very rushed to order quickly.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Friendly staff, very helpful
- Arwel (10/5): - What a lovely place to stay. We felt very welcome from arrival to departure. The room was very comfortable and well decorated. We had food in the restaurant which was spot on. We will definitely stay again.
- Stephen (10/5): Great place to stay - Very comfortable stay with welcoming hosts and good food.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very old world in a rural village, spacious, clean
- Rhys (10/5): 5 star stay - 5 star luxury well equipped room friendly staff
- Graham (10/5): Quiet, comfortable & good food - I stayed in room 3. It was very quiet and comfortable. I had an evening meal in the Bar which was all I needed, but this establishment does have separate restaurant accommodation too. A delicious cooked breakfast was served in their Garden Room and was included in the price (as was wi-fi)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice and helpful staff, clean room and bathroom ;)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Although our room was a little tight when entering or leaving it was comfy. The window blinds rattld a bit as we wanted the window open but soon sorted that The food was really good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very good food good staff clen and tidy, parking s a bit poor but i would still use it
- Sue (8/5): Brewers Arms - Friendly staff who couldn’t to enough to help. Food was really good. Room was clean and comfortable. Would recommend to other people
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Alison who runs the property was very friendly and very accommodating. Unfortunately it was very hot when we were there and there was no air conditioning. No iron and board in the room. However the beauty of the property and the staff were extra nice.
- M G (10/5): Very Friendly Inn - Very comfortable one night stay, excellent breakfast & evening meal. It was an extremely hot day & warm night so was so pleased to find a good fan in the room.
- John (10/5): Excellent place to stay - Amazing service, very clean room and lovely breakfast.
