Guest Reviews
- Henry David (10/5): A cottage with character - Nice and clean, comfortable furnishings. Good quality fixtures and fittings. We had a very good short break, thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you very much.
- Jordan (10/5): - Great location for travel into York, Knaresborough and Harrogate, the cottage had a proper rustic feel to it and was very cosy whilst remaining practical. The owners were friendly and didn’t mind us going to visit their farm animals each morning, llamas, goats, ponies etc, which was a lovely touch.
- Toni (10/5): Stunning night away - Beautiful place! Everything so well thought of and cosy! What a truly lovely stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cosy & well equipped cottage. - Lovely, cosy and well equipped cottage. Shame we only stayed the 1 night.
Would recommend.
- Tanisha (8/5): - Lovely place to stay. Everywhere as tidy but bathroom could do with some love.
Would definitely recommend staying here we only stayed the one night wish we could’ve stayed longer.
- steve (10/5): - An absolute treasure! We stayed in No 8 which had 2 double bedrooms and a single, which was perfect for a family of 5 with 2 teens. The exclusive hot tub to the property was wonderful both in the evening and early morning after a short stroll exploring the small farm. Didn't need anything from the owners and only saw one person whilst we was there, so whilst there are a few properties on site it still feels very private. We will be back next year purely for the cottage!
- Sheryl (10/5): - No.8 is a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. We loved the hot tub. Unfortunately we could only stay one night as would have loved to have stayed longer. Thank you
- Lester (10/5): Would stay again 😊 - We had a lovely stay only one night, well-equipped cottage.
Some road noise but we all slept well my daughter loved the cat.
10 minutes drive to York it is a nice base to explore from and return to.
- Mary (10/5): - Lovely property. Just needs bathroom update
- Marisha (10/5): - Beautiful cottage and space, unfortunately didn't get to explore the rest of the site. But I am looking at staying here again in the near future! Definitely a home from home experience. Fully functioning kitchen, decent bathroom and the most wonderful sleep. Living room had lots of light!
- Tracy (10/5): - Bucolic setting, charming cottage!
- Aaron (10/5): Nice night in a cosy cottage - Really nice cottage in a convenient location for York (20 minutes drive to the station).
Most things about this were perfect. The only minor things that I thought could be improved are:
1) Better guidance when you arrive. We found reception which tells you which cottage you're in. It would be good to then have guidance on starting the fire, setting the central heating, etc. We worked the heating out after a short while though!
2) More clarity that you will hear the traffic as you're on a busy road (A59). Again, this didn't bother us but if you're looking for a silent, remote, countryside cottage then this might not be in. The three bedroom house could be different though as it was further from the road.
- Stephen (10/5): Relaxing break - Comfortable, clean, quiet and quirky.
Good location for city or country visits.
- Mary (10/5): - It have a very welcoming feeling to the whole property
- Geoffrey (10/5): Fantastic place to enjoy some quality time. - We were pleasantly surprised! Unfortunately, we were only there for one night. It was really great to have our own space and my twelve-year-old daughter was elated when we were visited by one of the cats on the farm. Even more so when she looked out of her bedroom window and saw the Lamas. We really enjoyed our stay and have now decided that we will return in summer for a week or so to spend some time together in our own little cottage. At least for one week! Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. We had a fantastic meal in Luigis Italian restaurant just a few miles down the road and, driving into York city centre from the cottage was also a breeze. We can highly recommend Skipbridge Farm Cottages to anyone, especially a family, looking for a great time while visiting and discovering the beautiful city of York.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The cottage exceeded our expectations and was very well equipped. My only problem being a bit handicapped and 85 was that the steps to the front door were rather steep. Otherwise we were deeply impressed.
- Imogen (10/5): Lovely farm stay - Lovely property, cottage was beautifully decorated, well equipped and very clean. We really enjoyed visiting the animals on the farm. Initially we were a bit worried about how close to the road it is but we really didn’t notice the noise much once we were in the cottage.
- Helen (8/5): Great location - Lovely cottage, lovely location. Ideal location for a trip into York using the local park & ride
- Chris (10/5): Trip 19th August till 21st August - We throughly enjoyed our stay and only wished we stayed an extra night, the cottage is a 2 stories, and only 20-30 minutes from York, the cottage itself is lovely with a good collection of books and artwork on the walls, would highly recommend for a getaway
Would definitely go back again
- Lynn (8/5): Not enough information - Good location. Lack of communication for booking in made it stressful. Not enough information given as to what was needed for cottage stay.
