- Annemarie (8/5): - Das Frühstück in Büfettform war sehr gut, man konnte sich viel Obst nehmen. In ca 8min war man am Meer. Das Hotel liegt am östlichen Rand von Uvita. Wir haben einmal im Hotel gegessen, es war gut hatte aber kein Ambiente. Dann gibt es noch ein mexikanisches Restaurant, das sehr gut war und auch ausgefallene vegetarische Gerichte hatte, wie gebratene Avocado. An der Hauptstraße gibt es einen großen Supermarkt. Will man andere Geschäfte besuchen müsste man mit dem Auto fahren. Das Zimmer war klein und dunkel, sitzen kann man nur vor der Wohneinheit, hat aber Licht z.B. zum Spielen. Der Wasserstand der kleinen Pools ist niedrig, aber oberhalb der Pools sind Liegen von wo man einen Blick auf das üppige Grün hat..Der erste Eindruck, wenn man durch das kahle, wie eine Mensa anmutende Restaurant geht, dann in das dunkle Zimmer kommt, ist enttäuschend, aber mit Pool, Liegeplätze und vor der Unterkunft sitzen zu können ist die Unterkunft für 3 Übernachtungen doch nicht so schlecht.

- Rodrigo (7/5): Ubicación muy buena - El desayuno con pinto es muy bueno. La ubicación respecto a la entrada del Parque Nacional Marino Ballena en el sector Colonia es muy buena, esta a menos de 10 minutos caminando. Tiene un mini super / tienda de conveniencia al frente del hotel, se puede encontrar lo basico. Ademas hay un supermercado mas grande (palí) a menos de 10 minutos caminando. Hubo 3 personas que el servicio al cliente excedió las expectativas y que les agradezco porque fue lo que hizo que la estadía tuviera un positivo. Odilie, que nos ayudó la primera noche resolviendo un tema de parqueo. El chico del Restaurante en la noche del sábado. Y la chica que nos atendía a la hora del desayuno los dos primeros días. La habitación tiene 2 puertas connecting, pero no nos dijeron nada hasta que preguntamos que eran esas puertas (para saber si estaban cerradas de manera correcta y era seguro). La primer noche, llegamos y había un evento en el restaurante. Por lo tanto a la hora de llegar al parqueo había alguien preguntando si era huesped o venía al evento. Le dijimos que eramos huespedes y nos dejó pasar, al rato salimos a cenar y le pregunté que si al volver iba a tener mi lugar de parqueo asegurado, a lo que me contestó que sí. Cuando regresamos no había campo, entonces al consultarle me dijo que no sabía y que lo dejara "ahí orillado" pero eso significaba bloquear la salida de varios automoviles. Por lo tanto le dije, que si lo dejaba ahí y me iba a dormir no quería que me despertaran luego. (eran aprox 9:00 p.m.) a lo que me dijo que no era problema de él. Dejé el auto y nos fuimos a la habitación. La recepción estaba cerrada pero nos encontramos a Odilie quien no seindo la recepcionista me escuchó, y resolvió, abriendo otro parqueo al otro lado del hotel para que no tuviera que salir más tarde a mover el carro. La cocina no tenía gas conectado, tuvimos que ir a buscar a alguien a recepción, pero la persona salió a cenar justo cuando ibamos llegando. NO había rótulo de horario para saber a que hora volvía o algún número para contactar. Hablamos con alguien del restaurante y el nos hizo el favor de: 1. indicarnos que la persona había salido a cenar por lo tanto vovlería en media hora. 2. Buscar una solución e ir el mismo a ver que era lo que estaba pasando (llamó a alguien más que le indicó donde estaba conectado el tanque de gas, él fue y revisó y se dio cuenta que se había gastado y conectó uno nuevo). Varias veces en el primer día y noche nos quedamos sin corriente eléctrica. También la presión de agua en la ducha variaba y el agua caliente a veces sí a veces no.

Personal muy colaborador Dentro de la habitación no funcionaba ninguno de los enchufes. Pudimos cargar los móviles en la cocina, pero deberían mejorar el mantenimiento
- Julie (10/5): Great location and balcony views - We had a wonderful stay at El Faro. The location was perfect for our family. The beach and Manuel Antonio National Park are very close. The view from our balcony was amazing. We knew about climbing the hill beforehand and really didn’t think it was that bad (our ages were 58, 49, 48, 46, 15, 14, 12, and 11). The hotel staff helped bring up and down our luggage, so that wasn’t an issue, and a golf cart ride was easily available, whenever needed. We also really enjoyed our breakfasts each morning, and the hotel staff were very accommodating with booking tours and answering any questions we had during our stay. Beware of the capuchin monkeys. There is a reason they are called La Mafia. They are cool to watch… from a distance. I’d definitely stay here again.

Our room was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Bed was comfortable and the a/c worked great. The pool, deck area, and grounds were well maintained and spacious. Breakfast was fulsome and delicious and once again the service from Patricia was personable and efficient. There wasn't anything that we didn't like.
- Joan (10/5): Just book it. - Loved this place so much we booked to stay longer. Fantastic location just 5 mins walk from the national park beach which is stunning. The grounds of the hotel are lovely with two pools to cool down in after a hot day in the beach. Staff are exceptionally helpful snd kind. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel and a Mexican restaurant just along the road. We had the superior double room with a large kitchen and terrace so nice that we went to Maxi Palí supermarket at the end of the road and bought food to cook in the lovely kitchen. Now sitting in a hotel further up the coast and wishing we hadn’t left paradise
- Marjorie (9/5): We would come back again! - The gardens are beautiful and the shade was welcomed. The location was perfect - close to the highway but quiet and an easy walk to the beach. Parking was plentiful but sometimes full if delivery and worker’s trucks.

- Carly (8/5): Nice place to stay on the quiet side of Uvita close to beach - Tecal is a nice spot with clean rooms and comfortable beds. Extremely easy walk to a grocery store, market, and wonderful beach. The beach cost about $5 per adult per day and was fantastic! The hotel is on the quiet side of town and less crowded than the north side. We were greeted by friendly staff who got us into our room early because we arrived soaked and sick over new years. The property consisted of 2 buildings, a covered area with grills and seating, plus 2 small pools. Mostly Tico families stayed while we were there which was fun. The kitchenette was a pleasant surprise, as we’ve been surprised by the cost of eating out and the generous portions at breakfast often fed us (1 kid & parents) for 2 meals. The restaurant staff was wonderful and their food tasty. Stayed up late on New Year’s watching The Hangover in Spanish, DJ next door shut down promptly after midnight. Could have used more places to hang wet stuff. Price was high. Pool was meh.

- Stephanie (8/5): - Le service pour l’hôtel est ok. Très peu de contact avec eux et on nous évitait quasiment. Aucune étoile à donner pour un wow pour le service à la clientèle sur place. Le service au restaurant pour les déjeuners était plus convivial et rapide. La dame était souriante et très sympathique. La chambre qui était avec une cuisine avait deux portes barrées au fond d’un corridor pour probablement des gens qui habitent l’hôtel. Je ne me sentais pas totalement en chambre privée à cause de cela. De plus on les entendait suffisamment pour comprendre ce qu’ils disaient et des enfants criaient. Un autre point un peu négatif était la qualité du lit et matelas qui était médiocre alors que tout le reste de la chambre était vraiment très beau et fonctionnel. C’était comme s’ils avaient mis de la qualité partout sauf dans le lit et les oreillers ultra minces un peu comme sur utilisées. Nous étions deux et avions qu’une minie oreiller chaque. Les bons points étaient le stationnement à même l’hôtel et fermé par des barrières la nuit, deux belles piscines propres et l’aire climatisée permettant une belle fraîcheur dans la chambre.

When we had power the AC was great. there was a huge bicycle race/event which was in full swing when we arrived. Very very crowded which continued throughout the afternoon with loudspeakers in the restaurant and both pools very crowded with young men playing pool volleyball. Once that ended, the facility lost power and the restaurant was unable to serve. Our room door would not close, it had to be locked all the time. The WiFi never worked.

- Dani (10/5): Cheap and high-standard hotel with a lot of comfort. - Big and spacious room, small balcony, good working air condition, kitchen facilities, big garden, own restaurant, big parking... Great value for the money. 20 mts away there is a convenient shop with all supplies needed for your fridge. We stayed just one night as the entire city was busy due to huge event and there was no other accommodation. Really peaceful place, close to the entrance to the beach area. As Uvita is not concentrated city, this location seemed to be a bit remote, if you do not have own tranposport. But ask for shortcuts and nice trail close to the beach. This is important, as all the tour agencies are located in Bahia and you have to spend 45 min or 4-5 USD each morning to get there. Otherwise, everything ok.

- Pamela (10/5): - The hotel is right next to the beach, walking distance and great location. Across the street is a great restaurant! The staff is so friendly. Breakfast there starts at 6:30am and is made to order. The beds are comfortable and you have a fridge and freezer and can control your own AC temperature. They give you two towels each which is very nice. They have a pool and showers. There is a cute orange and white hotel cat. I wish they had a lamp and towel hangers in the room.

- John (10/5): Tercel is a gem. - There are so many locally owned places to stay in Costa Rica making it a game of chance to find a good one, Tecal is a good one. When we arrived we found Tecal to be a popular destination as the parking lot was full. People used it for a vacation stay as well as for business. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff helpful and friendly. It was a short 300 meter walk to the beach. The beach is a national park so there is an admission fee, for Costa Ricans it is only 1200 colones. The breakfast was included and was very good. Service in the restaurant was excellent. There is a small super across the street, another restaurant, and a grocery store (MaxiPali) within walking distance.

We got breakfast included which was nice because there was nothing really walking distance that was safe to get to Paper thin walls, all we could hear was the old couple next door arguing. She was such a bitch! Not a lot that was easy walking distance other than the beach Disappointed the beach wasn’t open until after 7 so no morning sunrise walks on the beach
- Nanette (9/5): How do they do it for the price? - Warm greeting. Spacious room with kitchenette, larger than average bathroom, balcony and air con. There are 2 smallish pools onsite and both were clean and warm. Bar/restaurant served til a decent hour and the breakfast was tasty with unlimited coffee and juice. Plenty of free private parking and lovely garden area with plenty of visiting birdlife. This place represents fantastic value for money! Furthermore there's a supermarket a stone's throw away and a buzzing Mexican restaurant with lethal cocktails within a few minutes walk. If you're given an upstairs room, remember you'll have to drag your suitcase up. It'll be worth the effort.

- Eileen (2/5): Construction noise woke up at 5.30 am every day . - Extremly dissapointed . Hotel was good but i was woken every morning between 5.30 and 6am with very loud construction noise . On the last day they also started a reno on the room next door . They droped something on my door at 5.30 am then stated moving stuff in and out and banging on the pipes. Im on vacation i dont want to be up before 6 am . Tried to explain to staff and ask for the manager they said he wasnt in . I paid good money yet got little sleep . Id like a refund .

Possibilité d’un meilleur éclairage, luminosité s’apparentant à une salle d’opération d’un hôpital; un simple gradateur pourrait suffire. Minimaliste quant aux accessoires, même pas un simple verre en plastique et tout au plus quelques savons disponibles.

- Claudia (7/5): nice place but noisy - very nice room, big and super clean. it's a very large hotel with dozens of rooms and outdoor spaces with pools and bbqs. Perfect for having fun with friends and family. Not so perfect for those in search of peace and quiet. Very noisy place, there was a private party with loud music and loud people that went on for the entire sunday. No chance to enjoy some relaxing time.

Room without window and the smell was bed. Wifi wasn't good in our room, but in the lobby was ok. On Saturday was a lot of families and was a long parties and noise.
- Stanley (10/5): Exceptional - It was a perfect hub for me to explore from. The little market, Mareas, is just around the corner and has most anything I need. The proximity to the beach was a short walk away - very convenient. The hotel itself is very well maintained and is designed to be very fun with a lot of people.
