Verified traveler (2/5): Remove from Hotels.com - Oh boy, I have never seen a place in this condition. I was staying alone and literally walked in and left within minutes. There was a hole in the bathroom floor. The curtain rod fell off. The carpet was beyond stained and I was literally afraid to touch anything let alone sleep there. I could see light through the edge of the door and the door lock was comical at best. I literally felt so unsafe, that I returned to my car and drove near where family was staying at the race track and slept in my car where I felt much safer. This should not even be a choice on Hotels.com. I don't mind rustic, but this was something else.

Kate (10/5): - Do not read old reviews from a year or so ago. Administration had changed since then and now it's a paradise of a budget place to stay. I am very happy that I wasn't afraid of previous reviews and went for it. Room is not very big but it has everything: Cable TV, coffee machine with pods, refrigerator, large bathroom with a window. everything is neat and clean, nothing falling apart, no bugs, everything looks renovated within a certain budget and more than enough for the price. It was quite on Saturday night. I stayed with my 6yo and we both liked it! Administrator Jaime is the best.

James (4/5): - If you want to bed and a washroom in the bare necessities this hotel is for you. It’s inexpensive for a reason. I stayed for three days. The coffee maker did not work, the air conditioning is noisy and inefficient, and the staff did the bare minimum. The room was never clean.

Ed (2/5): - We booked several rooms at the Trails End Motel in Lewistown, for our Amish clients. We frequently assist them with travel arrangements across the country and typically rely on online reviews and photos. Unfortunately, this experience was the worst feedback we’ve ever received. Our clients found the motel to be extremely disappointing. There were serious sanitation concerns, The conditions were so poor that they decided not to stay at all. What made things worse was discovering that many of the glowing reviews online appeared to be written by the same person, all with the same name. This felt intentionally misleading and untrustworthy. Ultimately, our clients decided to leave and found a much better alternative down the road at the B & B Motel. It was a little more expensive, but the difference in quality was like night and day. We hope this review helps others avoid the same disappointment. Trails End might look fine in photos, but in our experience, it was anything but.

Kelsey (2/5): - I’d booked this room a couple weeks before our stay. The town was super busy with it being grad weekend and a softball tournament in town as well. When we got there they had checked someone else into our room. There was no availability at that hotel or any other hotel in town. The clerk was super apologetic, but it sucked. We ended up having to sleep in our car for the night. Also the check-in office smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke. I didn’t get the chance to see a room, but based on the cleanliness of the office, I likely wouldn’t have been very impressed.

ANNGELICA (6/5): - The Good: the gentleman working the front desk was very polite and helpful, the location is convenient and easy to find with both dining and local shopping easy to locate within a couple blocks (the Dash'in diner across the street is amazing!) The hot water stays hot and the water pressure is fantastic. The bed was comfortable enough. Room had a decent sized mini fridge, a microwave, and comes with cable The Bad: parking is horrible! There is enough parking in the lot for each room to have a (very small) space in front of their room, except that the uhauls parked in the lot (they also rent out uhaul moving trucks and trailers) make it almost impossible to get in and out depending on which room your in. The walls are super thin and you can hear stuff from 3 rooms away (we got to listen to another rooms dogs bark all night long, but it didnt bother the people staying in that room since they also were up all night long). The Ugly: DIRTY!!!!!!!!!! I wasnt expecting the room to be spotless, but we didnt even want to walk around in our socks because the floor looked like it hadnt been cleaned in awhile. The bed was definitely the cleanest thing in the room (thankfully!). Cigarette butts and dog poop everywhere outside the room doors.

We did not get the room we booked, our family friends room was disgusting and had a "under maintenance" sign on their bathroom, another family friends room had tools and stuff in the dresser. We opted to eat the money and go to another place that had openings last minute.
Verified traveler (4/5): Untidy Room & Bathroom - Floor was dirty, toilet and shower didn't look like they were thoroughly cleaned. Bedding and pillows were heavily wrinkled so no clue if they were changed out or folded when they came out the dryer. Only thing was the bed was soft. We probably won't rebook this stay though. Sorry.

The motel is really in awful condition, holes in the door, bathroom door had the paneling ripped off, the carpet was disgusting and there is no way I would have taken a shower. room needed a total gut job but I guess looking for the least expensive place to stay comes with risk.

Front door had no metal plate on the door latch but did have security chain. Door had crack around the door that allowed so much light in overnight it was hard to tell if it was morning or not.
PAULA (2/5): - Only 1 good thing-the beds were comfortable and the bedding seemed clean. There was an extra twin bed in the room along with 2 queens. No one at the desk at check in, music blaring in the background, rang bell multiple times, finally pounded on door and continued to ring bell multiple times until woman finally came to check me in. No soap in bathroom, general cleanliness was lacking A/C unit is filthy but it worked. Bathroom not very clean, sloppy, dirty caulking around everything. Old, filthy heating unit in bathroom. Slow draining sink. When you flushed the toilet you can hear gurgling in the bathtub drain. When showering, bathroom did not drain, probably 4” of standing water in tub (did that include TOILET water??). We canceled the 2nd night and drove home 3 hours instead of staying. Expensive too. Man at the desk in the morning didn’t seem surprised about the issues in our room, half-assed apology. Don’t waste your time at this place.
