- lack4heaven (2/5): low quality racism as gatekeeper - as it so happens, we were in search of a hotel in the middle of the night and booking.com showed us 4 available rooms at this hotel. while I was parking, my German travel companion wanted to book these rooms at the night desk. He was blatantly told that the advertised rooms were not available as they were not serviced and dirty. when we left, a group of Spanish travelers was greeted warmly and friendly and we infer that they have gotten the same rooms that we were denied. I asked on the next day when their rooms are serviced and whether or not advertised rooms remain dirty. I was asked to write an email that nobody bothered to read, as there was no response or an apology and as I have noticed seems to be the Spanish fashion in the hotel industry to interrupt guests, callers and disregard their concerns. Not even a lick of interest and suddenly unable to understand. Funny enough, the Manager is always absent as if a unicorn that must be conjured by magical means. People, this business only wants Spanish guests and they will treat everyone else like garbage. Valladolid is on the wrong side of Spain where tourists from abroad are disliked. This hotel and its disservice are the culmination of their disregard for paying customers. We took our business elsewhere, where we were welcome. The racism displayed in this hotel and throughout the region is of the lowest quality and without effort. Disingenuous really, no cunning and certainly not cleverly veiled. This hotel is one of the many reasons not to set foot into Spain ever again

- Roberto J. (8/5): Interesante hotel en las afueras de Valladolid - El hotel está en las afueras de Valladolid, con lo cual necesitarás el coche para cualquier cosa. Por dentro está bien, con una aceptable relación calidad-precio. En general todo correcto, aunque quizás la cama podría ser algo más cómoda. El desayuno también correcto. Para nosotros lo peor es que el wifi no funcionaba (simplemente no se conectaba) y no se solucionó durante la estancia.

- Karin (10/5): - Sehr schönes Hotel. In alten Gemäuer einer Burg. Wir kamen um 22.00 Uhr an. Nachtportier sprach nur spanisch, kein Englisch, auch italienisch oder französisch wollte er nicht verstehen. Etwas schwierig, aber es hat geklappt. Frühstückbuffet haben wir zum Glück nicht gebucht, sah sehr einfach aus. Kann nicht am Morgen gebucht werden. Wir hatten an der Bar Toast und Gipfel mit Marmelade und 1 Schinkenkäsegipfel. Gute Entscheidung.

Parcheggio fuori dalla struttura con un numero, a mio avviso, un po' limitato di posti a disposizione. È, comunque, gratis. La colazione non è a buffet ma c'è quanto basta sia di salato che di dolce. Poi, se si vuole fare una colazione che assomigli ad un pranzo, questo albergo non fa per voi. Stanza pulita. Materasso nella norma.

Vi fik en fantastisk middag - fulgte den søde servitrices råd. Eneste minus - kunne godt være bedre til sprog.

TV is Spanish channels only. The coffee machine in the room came without coffee. The food in restaurant was very good. Breakfast was adequate and. Checkout was efficient.
- 427oddf (10/5): I loved this hotel - Stayed overnight while touring Spain & Portugal by motorcycle. I'm English, deaf as a post and don't speak Spanish. This hotel has all the things I want when I'm traveling, a decent sized room with good en suite facilities, a quiet and peaceful garden to unwind in, and excellent food. The whole place just feels comfortable, but best of all it has really nice, friendly staff who make you feel welcome. Loved it here.

- cd (8/5): - property is a little bit far from the city center, this is not a good choice if you plan on visit the old part of the city. hotel has a peculiar wall painting, the intention was to make it look old fashion but the result is that the effect on the customer is of not being pleasant but couple days there with get you used to it.
- reektreat (8/5): Great coffee place! - The cafeteria/Bar has a picturesque tone. It is located in downtown Arroyo, very close to the highway. I only had coffee and tea with some friends, but it is also a hotel and restaurant. They serve good coffee

- colin (8/5): Great place for a brief stop - A comfortable stop in a lovely quirky hotel but it's a shame it's in the middle of a housing estate! Unfortunately there was a wedding when we stayed which made it very busy and put us off eating in the restaurant in the evening. The breakfast was very good in a lovely decorated room. A great stop on our journey through to Portugal and I would stay there again.
- Sandra (6/5): Old Abadia converted in a small Hotel - The building seems an old church reconverted. The walls have some angels painted and windows are like the church. some beatitudes in latin in every room door. The breakfast salon has a lot of angels in the sky.
- Denise696 (8/5): Really different, but disappointing. - Having travelling from the beautiful historic town of Portillo this location came as quite a shock.Although the hotel is very old it is located in the middle of a new development. When we arrived there was an event being held at the hotel (christening?)and it was extremely busy.We couldn't park in the hotel parking area however street parking is plentiful so it was a case of parking up then moving the car when it was quieter.Our room was pleasant and as said before quirky. There is an outside seating area served from the inside bar, but nobody seemed to be looking after it as all the tables were covered in empties. The inside bar is quite dark and not really hotel standard. Having been told when the restaurant would open we then had to try and find someone to open it up, nobody seemed to know what was happening.We ate in the restaurant and the food was fine. I think this could be a really good hotel but the staff, who were lovely and very helpful, were too busy with the 'event' and really couldn't keep on top of everything which was a shame.
- wenpie74 (8/5): Superb find - We stayed overnight at this hotel en-route to Portugal. It is a quirky historical place, with lots of reminders of its former use. Our room was large, with an excellent en-suite. Lovely comfy bed too! We were going to have dinner in the restaurant, but changed our minds and had tapas in the bar area. This was an excellent choice. Lots of different dishes, and more than enough for the two of us. If we do this journey again, this hotel is definitely on our list!
- F2693QPrichardc (8/5): Former Abbey - A quirky hotel, well located off the main road in a little village. Comfortable rooms with a minibar and blackout curtains, all individually decorated. Friendly staff and good service and food in the dining room. The décor reflects the former use of the building with a lot of angels on the ceilings.
- Richard (8/5): Quirky in a nice way. - This quirky hotel is a former abbey located in a small quiet village, ideal for the main road. The bedrooms are all individual, comfortable with minibar and blackout curtains. an added bonus was the "dual" button on the TV remote which allowed you to watch programmes in the language they were made. The décor throughout the hotel follows the theme of the abbey with angels on the walls and ceilings! Dinner was good, the service was very good, despite the language barrier, our waitress was very helpful.

Good breakfast, the whole stay was fantastic value for money, we will definitely stay here again when traveling south from the Santander ferry. Good restaurant looks quite un impressive but serves rather good food , we enjoyed our evening meal very much. Parking at the back of the hotel which is free, wonderful stay here.
- 787TonyS (8/5): Fabulous Stop Over. - If you are looking for a great stop over just off the motorway without the trouble of going into the city of Valladolid, Spain this is the place. There is nothing much around the hotel, but the hotel its' self is fabulous, a charming place which looks like its' been a convent or some other religious building with murals on the walls & ceilings every where of saints ,angels etc. It;s very clean, room great and comfortable. There is a restaurant in the hotel which is out of this world. After working our way through the menu, with Carmen the waitress who spoke no English and explained in hand language etc what we could order (menu in Spanish only), we went for a set menu of 5 courses & a bottle of wine for 30 euros. It was fantastic !!! Although there was no one who spoke English at this hotel I felt welcomed and was treated wonderfully. I'd certainly stop here again if I wanted an over night stop over.
- PeterEijsbouts (8/5): almost like a parador - This hotel in a Valladolid suburb does resemble very much to the well known paradores. Historical building, renivated into a nice hotel. Big rooms, good restaurant. Free wifi. The only minus is the location. That is not attractive at all. However, easy to reach from highways isvagain a plus. Valladolid is just a fewmiles away. What is also very attractive about this place.... the price, for just €55,- a night including breakfast there are not much better optionsvaround.
- James205 (10/5): A genuine discovery - We like Paradors in Spain, but the one closest to where we needed a stopover en route south is terrible, so an internet search turned up this small easily-found hotel just off the motorway south of Valladolid. We arrived late but were able to enjoy bocadillos and refreshments in the cafe-bar at almost midnight. Our room was nothing if not characterful, very large and almost triangular in shape, with painted walls and ceiling portraying monkish figures and birds. However it had all mod cons, was perfectly clean and the vast bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was standard buffet but very acceptable, and the staff were all friendly, chatty and helpful. The little village is pleasant, and the medieval church associated with the hotel, which is a converted abbey, is a short stroll away.
