Guest Reviews
- Nicole (8/5): - Our stay was great other than the neighbours out back partying to loudly late into the night. We did have trouble getting into the room as the key pad was either jammed or too sensitive to touch. Thankfully the manager was easily accessible to let us in. Overall the room was clean and recommend for your stay in New Liskeard.
- Chris (4/5): - The bed and linens were clean and comfortable, but the compliments stop there. While the room was cheapest in town, I didn’t feel safe given the quality of other patrons, if you know what I mean.
The site was noisy/thin walls. If your neighbour coughs, you’ll hear it. I think mine was on his way out from a lifetime of smoking and now facing the inevitability that goes with it. f
The room was oddly constructed with a giant vanity in the room instead of the bathroom. The bathroom detail was simply poor in stature with openly rusty heater, poor paint, shabby construction and laughable design and aesthetic. In room 10 there’s an old long cubbord with many doors that has no use/purpose. It smells old and looks like it’s received 50 coats of paint over the years.
Checking the windows for security, I found they either would not latch, or had a completely broken track from repeated misuse or from repeated break-ins.
There was a sticky fly strip hanging from the TV, I’ve never seen this in any hotel or motel. Are the pests that bad?
- Kelvin (6/5): - We experienced various issues with the 3 rooms we booked. The booking was easy and checkin was touchless and worked fine. Rooms had varying levels of cleanliness, but overall clean. The TV's in two rooms did not work. Rooms were smaller than most motels i have stayed at. The mattresses were too firm for my liking. But overall i would have to say it was reasonably priced for what you recieved. Unfortunately I doubt I would stay there again due to the beds mostly.
- David (4/5): - Parking OK. Door locks work but are hard to figure out.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Nice size room, clean, fridge worked great just very small, tv was also super small but worked good.
- Tatiana (2/5): - No in person staff on property, even during checkin hours. Our room was not cleaned or stocked appropriately, missing toilet paper. Door to the room would not close/latch/lock properly.. huge safety concern. The property itself did not have anough parking spaces for the amount of rooms, ran out of spaces fast. It was also very outdated, dirty and covered in bird poop all over. The stairs to the second level were very questionable, uneven and shaky, felt unsafe.
- Theresa (2/5): - We did not stay the night. It was very dirty and had a bad smell..we drove 6 hours in the dark hwy to get home.
- Kenneth (8/5): - Just what we needed, very economical, roomy and convenient to our travels. First remote motel. TY. Better parking definition required, 2nd night other guests parking was too haphazard, wasting available space. We had to park off site.
- DAVID (8/5): - Easy check in
- Debra (6/5): - Cramped, dusty, run down
- Jennifer (8/5): - I don't like the parking lot is way to small and no assigned parking
- carrie (4/5): - Reviews didnt seem bad. But. Room was stuffy, and extremely beat up end tables. Cord for tv didnt reach outlet and we had to
- Carol L (8/5): - Affordable. Bed ok, not great. Old building. Bathroom window screen had holes, letting flies in. Otherwise good!
- James (8/5): - It's apparent that the owner really cares about their property, good value and convenient location
- Robert (4/5): - Had to park on the street. constant drip in shower. Run down motel with small room; adequate if you just need a place to sleep. I have tried contacting them several times to get a receipt and have never received a response.
- Daria (8/5): - Stayed for 1 night. Room was very clean.
Was a bit run down, but was expecting that. But bed was comfortable.
The only issue was that the shower floor was starting to chip and probably could use a re-caulking.
I had to call twice before my stay and the customer service was great. Super friendly.
This place operates remotely for the most part. Check in/out was fairly smooth.
- Donna (6/5): Disappointing stay. - it was disappointing...no grass..only concrete...not esthetically pleasing at all. No physical contact. No sign for office had to ask someone where it was. Just an all out cold exerience.
- Kevin (10/5): - No one on site to deal with electronic locks
- Linda (8/5): - It was convenient for one night stay and the price was very reasonable.
- Ian (8/5): - Comfortable bed, small fridge, microwave, k-cup coffee maker. Kitchen sink in room instead of a bathroom sink was odd but practical. Room smelled somewhat of cigarette smoke. Walkable distance to the town centre.
- Tracey (8/5): Pleasantly surprised - Check in thru a phone call in lobby. Loses that nice person connection. But very pleasant on the phone. The room was very nice
- martin (6/5): - I would of like to get the wifi password
- Perry (8/5): - Mattress needs to be replaced
- Verified traveler (8/5): - il devrait y avoir des pencartes ne pas déranger, plus de stationnement, des bacs de recyclage dans les chambres
- Vincent (10/5): - Great service, honest and clean.
- Leslie (8/5): - The motel is old and could use some updates. The beds were very comfy and the room was clean. The floors are creaky. But it fit our needs and the price was very reasonable.
- Lori (8/5): - Clean, cozy place to rest for the night!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Really bad - Very bad experience. The room smelled smoke, found hair in the towels, coffee machine didn’t work, reception has only a phone to call and nobody answered, the room window was hard to close, the cleaning lady entered the room in the morning while we were there, when people in the other room walked or talked we could hear everything. We didn’t feel safe there. Never again
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I stay here alot!!
- Me mengwaa Kwe (10/5): - Fastest check in i ve ever had. Makes it very easy.
- Christine (10/5): Great for a cheap hotel - Room was very small but clean and warm
- Cathie (10/5): - It felt comfortable and honey.
- Silvia (10/5): - Very clean. Pillows and down duvet were perfect for sleeping. Appreciated having a microwave and mini fridge. I would recommend this motel fir a weekend stsy in the area.
- Jagmeet (6/5): - Its good
- Patrick (6/5): - For the price, it was a good property. You can't expect much more for the price.
- James (8/5): - nothing
- Keith (6/5): - Close to water. Clean and staff made you feel welcome upon arrival
- Greg Awad (4/5): - There was limited hit water, never really got hot. Also there was a huge party right behind the motel, on a private yard. I called staff and they suggested I wait until 1130pm and then call police. I had to sleep with the television on all night to drown out the noise.
- Susan (8/5): - Large room with windows that open front and back. Would be nice if there was a screen on the large front opening window. Keurig in room nice touch.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - COULD NOT LOCK THE WINDOW
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Particularly liked the convenience of the kitchenette facilities. Our room had a generous amount of space which was appreciated.
- Dave (10/5): - Excellent room with queen size bed. Beautiful bathroom with bathtub.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Found other ppls hair and used towels in bathroom. Toilet barely worked. We paid 100$ for an unclean room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Check in and out was unique . Never saw any staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Check in and out was unique. Door lock very sensitive and didn’t work unless you slightly pulled on the door to take the pressure off the lock.
- Dave (10/5): - Very clean room, location central to a lot of amenities, staff friendly and efficient. Would reccomend this motel highly.
- MNtimm (8/5): - Building is older, but they keep the rooms clean. Good for the price. Had flies in the room. Staff is contacted via telephone. Easy check-in and out. Person on phone is friendly
- Robert (8/5): - Room was very clean, comfortable and reasonably priced.
Overall good experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable bed and the air conditioner was on full. It was perfect temperature. Although I found that the baseboards have a thick layer of dust so I am not sure how well they are cleaning however; other then that the place was spotless. We stay there all the time when we are in town.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Check-in was fine, room was clean. Overall no issues
- Penny (6/5): - Covid check in was different but worked. Didn’t see anyone the whole time there. If you needed assistance you had to walk down to the room which had the phone that connected to front lobby as there wasn’t a phone in the room. Also no hot water for a shower and magazines in the room should not of been there. Beds were comfortable though
- Alexander (10/5): A pleasant stay - Very enjoyable
- Alexander (10/5): Comfortable - It was a pleasant stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was clean and had lots of hot water. It was close to curling venue. The room was to warm at night.
- William (6/5): - We never received the code by email. We had to call fortunately someone was available.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great value for price - I little different checking method. Once figured out...all was great :)
- Verified traveler (10/5): Family visit. - Their slogan suits this property to a tee. A spotless room for a budget price. We stayed for 2 nights when in town visiting our daughter. The room was absolutely spotless. Having the microwave, fridge, hot plate etc was just what we were looking for. The wireless was spotty but that didn't impact our trip. The location was fantastic. Our very quick interactions with staff went perfectly. We definitely would stay again.
- Amber (6/5): - I like the idea of having a code vs a key in case you forget it, but both codes I was given did not work. The worker was great and upgraded me with no charge. However the next room was freezing, they're having problems with their boiler, so I had to use a space heater, took almost 3 hours until I could take my coat off and feel comfortable. It was hard to get a satisfying temperature with the space heater as I kept waking up too hot or cold. I also don't sleep well with noise. Just wish I had known about the heat prior to booking. The windows don't have black out curtains either but that's just a personal preference I guess. Overall, not a great experience, but it was clean, service was fine, timing was bad for me I suppose.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Rooms were private and very spacious. Comes with microwave and fridge and little kitchen which is very helpful for meals.
- Darren (8/5): Very pleased - I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and as a lot of others have stated the bed was quite comfortable. I would stay here again if I'm in that area.
- S (8/5): - Nice single bed room, but the location is right on the corner of a main road so getting out of the parking lot was a little challenging at times.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good price, was clean and a good bed....exterior could use a good sprucing up
- Nancy (4/5): - The motel wasn't at all what they show on the site, very smaĺl, very noisy the shower was mouldy, i was very disappointed
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Accommodation was clean and tidy and check-in was a breeze.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Furniture was worn and room was quite small but clean. I stayed in a double room last year which was much more comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room and bathroom are small but the bed is comfortable. We only needed a place to sleep that was convenient to the highway and there is a Tim Hortons and McDonalds close for a morning coffee. Very affordable.
- Joe (10/5): Good motel - We are from Toronto and have a trip around here.
The price is good and the room is tidy and is comfortable.
- Doug (8/5): - Dated but comfortable and clean. Good central location to access downtown or hwy 11.
- Andrew (6/5): - The room was clean and it had a fridge. Nothing fancy here but a good place to spend the night while on the road.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cute property, unique check in experience and very clean and updated rooms. My only suggestion would be to get new pillows.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like the self serve check in. It was very efficient. The owner was very helpful when I called seeking instructions about how to check in as Expedia did not forward my email to the Inn so that they could send me that information.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This hotel was good for an overnight stay. The queen bed and pillows were a little hard for our liking but over all it was good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No one on site at location just a phone and vending machine
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No one available on property to check me in. Room temperature too low.
- Gilles (8/5): content - Needed a reasonably priced place to stay for the weekend, my daughter had a skating competition in Hailebury I enjoyed the value and location
- Gilles (8/5): Good value - Spacious and convinient. Good value!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice stay will deffnatly recommande and stay there again
- Dawn (10/5): Nice motel - This is my go to motel in this area. Great motel for a great price. The double bed room is very small. But still reasonable.
- Richard (6/5): Hot but nice - The room was too hot and we couldn't control our own room temperature.
- Dawn (10/5): Nice stay - Went to pick up my daughter from college and decided to stay the night. This is the second time we have stayed here and will definitely be back. The price is reasonable as well
- Jeff D (8/5): - The wifi didn’t work
- Eric (8/5): - We stayed a couple nights. Simple place. Clean room freshly painted, beds were comfortable. The only con, The cold water tap for the bathtub was extremely stiff. Notified hotel staff.
- Leonor Irma (2/5): As cheap as it gets... not in a good way - Tiny room with 'washroom' that is falling apart and gross, plumbing is horrible, hard to control water temperature. floor crooked, I was afraid of falling through the shower floor. Have to walk around toilet to get to shower stall. Couldn't figure out how to heat the room. Wi-fi so bad, couldn't even open facebook, let alone do any work. Linen didn't look clean, we used our own instead.
- Jackie (8/5): - The stairs are brutal if your room is on the second floor
- Teksah (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable. Nice check in, good parking for ground floor. Coffee machine worked great, and microwave and fridge..all good condition and worked. Lamps with working light bulbs. Nice! ..small room as I asked for ground floor, but was perfect as traveling alone.
- Earl (4/5): - Very small room cramped shower and toilet no phone was very disappointed. The price was OK I guess we need accommodations like this for travelers who are on a budget.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Wheel Inn - The hotel was adequate and inexpensive. No onsite manager and check in was done via a phone in a small room. Did not receive a receipt for the stay. But clean enough and the beds were good.
- Bess (8/5): - The location is nice if you want to go shopping and eat food anytime. It is also close to grocery but for the museums or tourist spots. It is a bit far.
- Joel (8/5): - No issues. Loved the check in process
- Diane (2/5): - Don’t stop, just keep driving, or pay a little more for a better hotel. I read the reviews about how bad the road noise was, but I figured it was an exaggeration. It’s not. Between the bonfire and “singing” in the backyard until 11:30, the road noise, the neighbouring room noise and the oh. my. effing god creaking floorboards (inside and out) it was ridiculous. The windows are so old/thin (except the bathroom, it’s how I know the windows play a role), that we might as well have been sleeping outside in the car and would have been only slightly less comfortable than the cheap creaky mattresses. We always view hotel rooms as just a place to sleep and don’t need anything fancy, but I can’t say I’ve stayed in worse, because this is it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Wheel in motel is clean and has very small rooms it is an old motel it needs a face lift for sure I wasnt happy with the fact that there is no office to talk to a person. You get there you go in what you think is a front desk but all it is just a room you pick up the phone and talk to a person they tell you over the phone what your room # is and how to get in you dont get a key card or key it is just a number pad on the door I had issues with getting into my room as the door wasnt working properly and calling them back they came out fairly quickly to fix the situation the gentleman that came out was very friendly and helpful but again it would be better if that area room would be front office over all even though the room and bathroom were inceadbly small the place is very clean and quiet considering it's on a main road
- Guy (10/5): Great place will be staying next year - We have a great stay. Nice clean
- Christina (10/5): - Smaller type motel but nice sized rooms, clean with friendly staff. Parking can be a little tight if the motel is full, but we had the last room and were able to squeeze in. Would stay again
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Basic overnight accommodation. Road crews lodging there during our stay. Clean and good rate.
- Angela (8/5): Nice place, clean - Had everything we needed, except a blow dryer.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Small kitchen no dishes or cleaning stuff.Air conditioner noise
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to restaurants. Quick check-in. ewr wer rwr werewr wer werewrwerwe wrerewrwer wrwerwer werwe rwrwer werer wer wr wer wer
- Mary (6/5): Overnight stop - Very basic room.. Close to the highway.
Too noisy with air conditioner on, too warm with it off. Neither my husband or I got much sleep
A power bar was suspended under the desk as it was stretched to power the TV on one wall and something else on another wall. Does that meet fire code?
It was fine for one night, clean and lots of hot water for showers.
- George (6/5): - Motel is adequate for overnight stay. We were surprised to discover no ice was available. Check in was unique. Enter "office" - pick up phone - talk to owner - get pass code for lock on door - that's it. Room was clean. Bath tub was EXTREMELY slippery - fell while taking a shower - luckily no broken bones - just some bruises.
- Emily (4/5): Maybe for men willing to rough it only? - I recently had a very disappointing stay at this motel. I was enticed by the pictures and NO carpeting in the rooms. When I arrived at the motel there was no staff on site. Instead I had to call a cell phone number and was checked in that way. In order to get to my room I had to go up a flight of stairs outdoors, which was pretty tricky with a toddler and all of our belongings. Once inside my room I was incredibly disappointed. Although the room was clean it was lacking in many common amenities...like mirrors for example. The only mirror in the room was a small approximately 20 x 15 inch irregular mirror in the bathroom which was not even over the sink in the bathroom but on the wall beside the sink. Several of the lamps were missing light bulbs. The room was cooled with a small box window air conditioner, but this air conditioner was not sufficient to cool the entire room. The pillows were those blue and white striped ones you can buy at Wal mart for a few dollars. Only two small towels were provided in a room with 2 double beds. I would not recommend booking at this motel unless you are willing to overlook all of these things in favour of the budget friendly price.
