Friends at the same event were camping and compared to that this was far better. Place is modern and well maintained. Obviously sharing a bathroom with 6 people all getting ready for the same event is a challenge, otherwise it wouldn’t have been a problem. Separating the shower from the WC/wash basin would have helped. This is a minor point in the context of the price and would definitely book again.

Judith (8/5): Pleasant stay at Deangate Motel in Lydney - Ich habe ein Upgrade, also ein größeres Zimmer bekommen. Die Ausstattung mit kleinem Kühlschrank und Wasserkocher war sehr gut. Ein kleines Problem konnte vom Personal umgehend gelöst werden. Ich hätte lieber keine Haare auf dem Kopfkissen gefunden. Ansonsten war aber alles sehr sauber.

Joe (9/5): Excellent value for money and brilliant location - My go to hotel for the Forest of Dean and surroundings. Excellent location. Free parking. Easy check in remotely with keys left in envelope for guests on arrival. We had a shared bathroom in the main building, which wasn’t ideal. I’d have preferred one in the room. But this was the last room left for my dates.

Nice and clean had a nice comfy bed shower was nice and hot easy heating was easy to use. There was nothing not to like. It was my 50th birthday while we was there and they brought me a card and lovely flowers 💐 which was so kind of them. We stayed in a dog room as we had two small dogs. Definitely coming back. As this is a motel with no facilities (and I know that is what I booked) but a microwave in reception for clients use would be a great addition.

Plenty of tea coffee etc supplied Even though rooms are dog friendly maximum of two , when we come down we always have to bring more so unfortunately some had to sleep in the van which they aren’t used to and I was worrying all night about them . Some of them apparently were barking at 2am which I didn’t hear but some of my friends in other rooms did . I wouldn’t want this as it not only wakes up other residents but also causes stress to the dogs . My dogs are well behaved show dogs so if there is anyway we can pay more to have them in the room with us it would be very much appreciated as we are hoping to attend this show every year.

Just right for the 5 of us with a granddaughter with special needs. There was nothing we didn't like. The only useful thing in the disabled room would perhaps be the availability of a mobile hoist if needed.

Gill (9/5): - Check in process was simple, room was spotlessly clean and the breakfast to the motel door was a great service. We were visiting for a funeral and the owners were very accommodating with sorting an early check in. Nothing.
Lam (10/5): A Pleasant Stay - Room was super clean and large in size. Bed was comfortable. Shower was nice and hot and also clean towels provided. Provide a large amount of coffee and Tea packets. Staff was super friendly and check in and check out was super easy.

Neale (9/5): Excellent place to stay and perfect location for exploring the Forest of Dean region. - The hotel is in an ideal location for exploring the Forest of Dean region. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was also spotless and had a spacious shower with plenty of hot water. Check-in was immediate and effortless and check-out consisted of just dropping the key. Plenty of free parking. Highly recommended! The bed, while comfortable, had a slight but discernable ridge down the middle. The wi-fi was generally excellent but seemed to lose its connectivity a couple of times.
simon (4/5): Clean but not comfy room - Clean room with coffee & tea Bed was appalling. Had a bad aching back in morning, pretty sure if it was the springs and slope of bed. Shared bathroom smelt mouldy and damp with broken tiles. In need of repairs.

wayne (9/5): Great motel, would come back in a heartbeat - The rooms themselves were huge and clean. I've been in large hotels where the rooms are tiny in comparison The bed wasn't the most comfy for myself and made noise from the springs while moving, but in the other room I booked they found it quite comfortable so I think it's down to preference and obviously they can't cater for all

Karen Kirk (8/5): - Location excellent for a family visit Warm in the room, although a small fan was provided this was noisy. Temperatures were normal for September. We would want to stay in an air conditioned room in the warmer weather.

Jonathan (9/5): Very happy lodger - The room i stayed in was very clean and tidy, with plenty of storage to unpack my luggage, and I had no disturbances what so ever. I enjoyed my stay very much. There wasn't anything I didn't like, very pleased with my stay.
Robert (10/5): - Warm welcome at check in, large room with great en suite and everything worked. continental breakfast served fresh and promptly, A comfortable stay, without the trappings and fuss of a Hotel. Reccomended !
