- Annette (10/5): A lovely, relaxing stay in the Pulfords Suite with everything we could want. Highly recommended. - The Pulfords Suite was very comfortable and clean, with everything we could want for a lovely, peaceful getaway. Thank you Reillys Wines. Breakfast and other supplies were very generous and varied. We enjoyed making cooked breakfasts on the outdoor BBQ. We also very much enjoyed the assortment of fruits and the complimentary wines in the room.
The setting was lovely. It was very quiet and tranquil. We enjoyed eating our breakfasts on the verandah, sitting out there for a drink in the afternoons, and short walks around the township. It was particularly private and quiet when the adjacent suite was vacant. The two adjacent suites (Pulfords & Priests) would be perfect for two couples travelling together who wanted their own space and bathroom.
We loved our 5 course Long Lunch Indulgence Experience with wine pairing at Reillys Restaurant. A very special experience. The following were very minor things which did not detract from our stay.
The electric frypan in the cupboard was rather scratched and we elected not to use it. We were happy to cook on top of the outdoor BBQ to avoid cooking smells in the room.
The window in the main room of the Pulfords Suite does not open. The window ropes have been cut and there appears no mechanism to hold the window open. We were able to open the bathroom window.
The exhaust fan in the bathroom is a small unit, positioned near the toilet. It doesn't cope well with steam extraction when showering at the other end of the bathroom, even with the window open.
Husband found the bed a bit soft with a hollow on his side, but he has back issues.

- Peter (9/5): Excellent comfortable base from which to explore the Clare Valley - Beautiful old buildings in a beautiful quiet old town, well-appointed rooms and excellent provisions. Very clean and comfortable The only bad point was that the barbecue outside the cottage badly needed cleaning - the accumulated grease in the spill tray caught fire

- Susan (9/5): Happy to recommend but shower needs attention. - The bed was really comfortable, great wood fire with plenty of wood, breakfast supplies were generous and bottles of wine were very much appreciated. Lovely to have extra towels and plenty of lovely toiletries. Shower was tricky to regulate .
- Benjamin (10/5): - We had a lovely stay at Reillys Wines Heritage Cottages in Mintaro. The cottage has a charming, rustic feel, and we especially loved the fireplace—it made the evenings so cosy.
The wine tasting at Reillys Wine Cellar was excellent, with some great local drops. Breakfast was a nice touch too—everything provided, including local bacon, fresh eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, fruit, juice, and milk. Very generous and much appreciated.
Parking was easy, and the location is fantastic—just a short walk to the Magpie and Stump Hotel for a meal or a drink. The whole area is steeped in history, with beautiful old cottages and churches all around. You’re also close to the rest of the Clare Valley, with its stunning scenery and some great restaurants nearby.
That said, I do think the cottage could benefit from a bit of a refurb to freshen things up—it’s full of character, but starting to feel a little tired.
Overall, it’s a great base for exploring the Clare Valley and soaking up the heritage and charm of Mintaro
- Sharon (10/5): - Hubby and I loved this quaint town and the lovely accommodations. The staff were friendly and accommodating. A few steps to the local pub and wine tasting meant we didn't have to worry about driving. We regretted not staying for longer.

- Shannon (9/5): Superb -
- Peters (9/5): Very relaxing way to end our holiday - Very welcoming staff.
The cottage was very well appointed whilst keeping with the theme of the village. Lovely to wake to the magpies and finches in the morning.
Various means to keep cool or warm within the cottage
The breakfast was fabulous (varied and extensive) with the means to cook it also!
Various options for hot drinks - variety of tea bags, coffee options (Kettle, coffee pod machine, milk frother, T pot)
A bottle of wine included
Parking at the door
Able to walk into town Maybe a couple of sachets of hot chocolate for the non tea/coffee drinker.

- Kathryn (10/5): - Well appointed cottage room with a great breakfast selection. Bed was comfortable and the shower was good. Room was a little dark as it is an old cottage but there was space to sit outside. Julie was fantastic, really helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Would recommend!
- Jeanette (8/5): - Lovely restored mining cottage
- Chris (10/5): - We stayed in Priests Cottage, which was very cute. Breakfast provisions were extremely plentiful as were the tea and coffee supplies, bathroom was clean, bed was comfortable with nice clean sheets. Beautiful setting and close to the local pub, which had a fantastic friendly atmosphere, great food and a good local wine selection.
- Ronald (10/5): - Terrific little cottage, great location
- Verified traveler (10/5): A perfect getaway for two. - This was a short notice booking at Priest’s cottage belonging to Reilly Winery, who were great hosts. The two unit cottage has a common front door and shared verandah. Our unit consisted of a large room with in room kitchenette, lounge area, dining table and queen bed with quality linens, and a separate bathroom with shower. We had everything we needed for a very pleasant stay - complimentary wine, fruit bowl, and generous ingredients for a full breakfast. It was a short walk to Reilly wine cellar and restaurant and to the friendly Stump and Magpie Hotel. Mintaro has beautiful C19th stone/slate homes and is an easy drive to other Clare Valley villages. A delightful two day stay!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Access to a washing machine would be an advantage.
- Stephen (10/5): - A ver convenient place to stay for visiting the wineries in the Clare valley. The owners are currently upgrading the three cottages and our impressions were ideal for a weekend.
A must is to visit Reilly’s restaurant some 100 m from the cottages.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful location and cottage. Always love the extras provided
- Raelene (10/5): -
It had a lovely fire place and good quality wine and the chocolate was a treat. breakfast was more than enough
- Darren (10/5): - Great hospitality. Highly recommend Reillys for your next holiday & definitely wine tasting
- Magdita (10/5): Clare at its best - It was a wonderful stay. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and has all necessary ammenities. The owners were extremely helpful, especially as we needed to make a couple of last minute changes. Nothing was too much bother. The diy breakfast they left for us could have fed twice as many and everything seem to be local. Their own sparkling wine was also worth every penny. The wood stove was a great addition and we would love to come back in the winter. The local pub 2 minutes away was also excellent and the surrounding area was a pleasure to explore. We highly recommend this spot.
- Gregory (8/5): Mintaro weekend - Nice break in a quiet area. Bed was extremely hard.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pay Office cottage was comfortable and well catered.
