• claire (6/5): enjoyable area - property is up for sale and is in management, they do a good job providing a box bfast that will last the 2 days we were there etc It is on the main highway that runs through Coonawarra and it is 110kph speed limit making the road a little dangerous to pull in and out of. Also noisy with trucks through the night
• Pierre (10/5): An amazing stay at a very affordable venue managed by 2 lovely people! - Mark and Marisa (Managers) are both extremely likeable and warm individuals. They have done an amazing job in 're-booting' the former Chardonnay Lodge and bringing it back to its former glory. The rooms are huge and the timber ceilings reminded us of a chalet in Switzerland or Germany. Apart from providing an excellent continental breakfast (in our room). Mark then stunned us by offering to drop us off in Penola for dinner at The Royal Oak hotel and then pick us up on completion. Truly AMAZING service by a very nice and professional person. We loved our one night stay and cannot recommend the complex and its management highly enough! No issues!

Difficult to see the entrance to the property on approach along the highway - signage was not prominent. Numbering of rooms was difficult to understand, so it was difficult to locate our room. A map of the property is recommended. Room lights were too bright for comfortable TV viewijng.

The staff was really kind we ended up being late and they went all out to help our late check out. The room even has breakfast items (cereal fruit etc). Rooms are huge beds super comfortable. Super quiet area. The garden has a wonderful bbq area with three bbq, lovely! Highly recommend I wish I had known it was this great - we would have made an effort to arrive earlier and enjoy our stay longer!

• Jessica (9/5): - The rooms, from size to layout were great! Excellent customer service and the overall venue is absolutely stunning. It is right on the main road however we had a room further back and heard no road noise which was amazing. We could have just been a bit unlucky but there were so many Moskitos. So we weren't able to actually enjoy sitting outside despite it being such a beautiful place and sadly also many made it into the room so was bitten at night.

• Yong Woo (9/5): - While the room interior was bit old looking, it was cleaned and prepared so well, I was very impressed. I stayed one night with all my family and it is best for the value. It also had bottled water, milk and continent breakfast for all of us, which was very useful as I stayed over the Boxing day, which means I did t have lots of place to have to eat. It was in the middle of popular winary/vineyard areas. You even can visit a couple of famous winary on your foot. It also had a large garden in the middle of motel, which is a great place for the family. It is away from large town, so I find it is safe and quite. It is only few minutes away from Penola. If I am visiting the winary area again, I would like to stay there again for sure. I believe a part of the accommodation is being sold and it it has a pool which is not being used. Currently it has bit of dirty water with smell and bugs. One it is cleaned or sorted out, everything should be fine.
