Guest Reviews
- Goldsmith (10/5): All round great stay - Super friendly host in the phone. Easy lockbox access. Had all the essentials. Great size. Well stocked kitchen cookware to cook meals at home if needed. Very clean. Comfy bed. Great laundry facility. Being right by the road meant a few loud hoons at night but the view of the oval and ocean made up for it.
- Stephen (5/5): Perhaps prior notification for guests that there will traffic noise due location. - Spacious Traffic noise
- Val (9/5): Great accommodation in Burnie - The location to attractions and shops, the view which was magnificent. My invoice was left in someone else's room and I had his. Breach of confidentiality as my home address etc were on that invoice.
- Gagan (8/5): Great views and location... - Location, close to beach and shops A lot of traffic noise, especially at night
Didn't have any broom / dust pan, being with kids you need to ensure space is clean. The dishwasher smelled of fish, very bad smell..
- Gavin (5/5): It was disappointing as we found it didn’t suit our personal requirements. - What breakfast? None supplied, but we were not expecting any. Several of the light globes were missing or blown in dining/lounge area We were very disappointed with the proximity of the extremely noisy major highway and traffic lights on the front doorstep. Huge noisy trucks and police, ambulance, fire truck sirens nearly every day of our 5day stay which was meant to be a relaxing break.
- Jenny (9/5): Clean, comfortable and convenient. - The property is conveniently located close to town and the view was great. It was comfortable and clean. Roadside noise.
- Jennifer (8/5): -
- Samantha (4/5): Very disappointing and misleading. - Unfortunately the property didn’t have a lot going for it. The advertising is very misleading and I would NOT recommend staying here. It is on a main road with very loud traffic. The beds are not very comfortable and are very noisy as soon as you move an inch. The lounge furniture is very uncomfortable and needs updating. The property advertisement should remove the image of the couple with the water view as it is very misleading.
- David (9/5): - Size and off street parking
Well lit Some street noise
- George (7/5): - Bathroom needed more amenities, body wash, shampoo and conditioner.
- Benjamin (8/5): Nice, great for penguins, but noisy road. - Easy check in, clean, very close to the beach to see penguins, and easy beachfront walk to the main town. Good off road parking Overlooking busy road, with road noise. Not terrible, but notable. May need earplugs at night.
Couch needs to be refreshed and TV outdated and small if that is important to your party
- JIARONG (3/5): Disappoint - very close to the coastline and the penguin-watching beach, only about a 4-minute walk away. The stay was disappointing. Since the property is right next to the road, it was extremely noisy, and the lack of soundproof windows made it very hard to sleep. The hygiene was also quite poor. The kitchen was covered in grease, and the room itself didn't look like it had been cleaned properly. Even worse, the self-service washing machine in the laundry room had a thick layer of grime inside. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
- Cameron (8/5): - Lovely vista from the sitting room
- Berni (8/5): Lovely easy access and friendly staff. Would highly recommend - Location is great Some more comfortable furniture would be nice in the lounge
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Heng (9/5): Good location good view - Good location, has got the sea view. The dryer doesn’t work in Laundry room
- Lisa (8/5): We had a great stay. Close to shops and the beach. - Close to the beach. Great view. A bit of traffic noise. Comfortable apartment. Traffic noise.
- Carol (8/5): Great place to stay for exploring the region - Great location, close to the boardwalk and gardens, view overlooking Bass straight Traffic noise as situated on main road
- Liz (10/5): Lovely place to stay! - Nice and close to everything, a great view and nice and clean
- Shaun (8/5): - Convenient location A tad noisy from traffic
- Paula (6/5): Good location n comfortable but some issues with water pressure and lighting - Location Water n hot water pressure bad
Issues with lighting
- Nicola (8/5): - Nice unit and comfortable. Easy walking distance to city centre. Noise...traffic noise all night
- Carol (10/5): Wished I could stay longer - Had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable. Perfect for strolling across the road to see the penguins at dusk. Slightly noisy being on the highway, but fine with the windows closed.
- worldly (10/5): Exceptional property in Burbie - Beautiful modern fitout,
Parking at door,
Professional laundry equipment.
Lots of extras.
Thoroughly recommend.
Close to penguins and boardwalk Leaving
- Michael (9/5): - Location in relation to the city, good views from the front windows, spacious off-street parking and the apartment has generous space internally. While the apartment is close to the city, traffic noise is loud, consistent and unfortunately unavoidable. Perhaps a personal preference, but I consider the mattress in the main bedroom is too soft and the lounges are looking a bit tired.
- Jo (7/5): Great location & clean facilities - accomadation more suited to family with small kids/ couple only - Great location with clean facilities, comms from hosts were easy. Off street parking was a bonus and our tall 4wd did fit in, although we had to reverse in due to limited space. Was great that we could walk over to see the fairy penguins tour and march up off the beach. That was a real highlight. Street noise didnt bother us too much, Kitchen was a little impractical for a family including two teenagers. Three plates only, rather than a four set. Fridge, dishwasher and stove more suited to a couple than a family trying to eat and cook in - to keep costs low. Shower doesnt have a door, making floor very wet and slippery.
- Zeyu (8/5): -
- Rachel (9/5): Great apartment in a convenient location. - The apartments was lovely and clean with a lovely view. I wasn’t expecting the road to be so noisy.
- deirdre (10/5): -
- Louise (9/5): Great location close to all amenities - Great location with a lovely view Could be a bit noisy due to being on the highway near a set of lights but as the bedroom is at the rear of the apartment it wasn’t a problem
- Stephen (7/5): - Spacious living area. The photo is from the top unit but it is enclosed now. Good view and close to penguin centre, which was excellent. On main highway, but little traffic at night & bedroom is at the back of the unit. Front door was very difficult to unlock, back door was better.
- Joyce (6/5): -
- vesco (10/5): - Absulutne perfektni ubytovani a nadherne prostredi. Rano docela hlucnejsi kvuli traffiku.
- Lynne (10/5): - Good communication from the manager re lockbox and access; convenient parking; being able to check in and out outside normal business hours to fit in with our flights; everything we needed was there. Lighting on the sign in front would have been helpful as it was 10.30pm when we arrived.
- Janelle (3/5): The owners / hosts of this accommodation need to be aware of how guests are being treated. - Spacious apartment with good kitchen facilities. Undercover parking. We arrived early due to poor weather but were met with a very rude and unhelpful staff member. She was quite nasty and inflexible as to being able to check in slightly early or to put anything in the fridge despite the apartment being vacant and already cleaned. She even made a smart comment as to us parking under cover out of the rain before check in time.
Lounge room furniture uncomfortable and need of replacement.
- Bob (8/5): Very satisfied - Fireplace was great.kitchen had good facilities. Electric blanket control right in the middle of my back
- Shaun (7/5): - Modern apartment close to everything you needed Highway directly in front of property, very noisy .
- Jennifer (8/5): Would definitely stay again. - Great location opposite penguins. Very comfortable and top spot for base camp for other activities. Reception was great. Access and tight parking
- Rolf (9/5): Good standard accommodation - Good bathroom Nothing
- Alan (7/5): Adequate stayed for one night but pretty close to everything - Clean and tidy very functional On main road and very noisy with traffic
- Robert (7/5): Great stay overall. The place was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing visi - Location to beach and shops Road noise and car parking
- Christy (9/5): - The apartment was beautiful, beds were very comfortable and the bathroom is absolutely gorgeous.
It was lovely to wake up and look put at the ocean.
We all enjoyed walking into town for dinner.
Across the road from the adorable penguins.
Central to the adventures around Burnie we visited, near and far. We wish we stayed longer.
We couldn't fault anything as we really did love the apartment.
- Nic (10/5): -
- Jeric Vidal (10/5): Affordable luxury - Everything. Check in and out were very smooth. We stayed here years eve and the fireworks show was just accross the unit. A magical night for us. Nothing. Everything is perfecf!
- Amy (8/5): A great place to stay - comfortable and central. - The view was amazing but the best part was proximity to the beach and Penguin Centre of a night. It was perfect! It is on a main road and sometimes the traffic was particularly loud, even with door and window closed. Can’t be helped.
- Kim (7/5): - Well serviced with cooking facilities, access to washing machine & drier. Located on a main road, above traffic lights and heavy truck traffic changing gears at lights.
- Lindsay (8/5): A comfortable stay with close access to the town centre and the beach - Ease of access
- linda (9/5): great spot -
- Amelia (9/5): - Very close to penguin viewing and city. No fans in the bedroom but imagine that’s usually not a problem.
- Heidi (7/5): Clean, comfortable beds and fine for a short stay but small and minimally equipped. Also noisy on the highway - Location is handy for a short walk to the cbd and easy access to the highway. Nice layout and clean comfortable bedding Apartment is right on the highway so is noisy, the 2 ground floor apartments don’t have any outdoor area so the photo is a little misleading although not sure you’d want to sit out and watch the trucks flying past at 70kph. The kitchen is tiny and really only suitable for basic meals, our kitchen (bay 2 bed apartment) has only 2 rings so you could fit maybe two small pans on the cooktop, the provided huge frypans have no chance. Oven works but no oven trays so not much option there either. We had only 3 dinner plates for 4 of us and I wasn’t able to get hold of anyone on the number to get another. Dishwasher is too small to take the dinner plates or wine glasses. Lounge furniture is worn and the leather is starting to peel
- Carole (9/5): - The location Difficult door lock
- Veronika (10/5): - It was the perfect place for our family weekend getaway - very close to places of interest.
- Valerie (8/5): Pleasant accommodation. - Modern apartment, well equiped kitchen. Very light, spacious and clean. Location good even though on main road - noise no problem if door is closed. Lovely view to the ocean. Across the road for penguin viewing Nothing to not like
- Arthiarni (8/5): -
- Anthony (7/5): Was a work trip and suited the purpose with location - Great view from front window and an easy walk to shops/amenities The front balcony needs a tidy up as is overgrown with plants and difficult to access. Shower head needs replacing and a number of lights either didn't work or had globes missing. Bed was also uncomfortably soft. This is a personal choice but wasn't ideal.
- craig (8/5): - location was perfect for viewing the penguins. 10 minute walk to all facilities in town . shower head very low pressure.
- Susanne (9/5): - Loved looking at the view Can't help traffic noise
- Deb (7/5): - Clean and comfortable with off-street parking Close to a main road intersection. Can be noisy at times
- Sacha (9/5): -
- Josh (8/5): - Great convenient location for exploring Burnie and surrounds
- Dejan (7/5): -
- michael (6/5): - traffic noise terrible at 3am car parking very diffult to get in and turn as above
- Jane (10/5): A great place to stay for a short or long stay - The apartment is very homey and the location convenient to the town centre. This is the second time we have stayed and will definitely stay again if the opportunity presents. The laundry is a nice plus. No complaints
- Albert (9/5): - Prachtige locatie en centraal punt om de diverse attracties te bezoeken.
Parkeren bij de locatie. Niets
- Jenny (7/5): -
- maxwell (10/5): Apartment was very clean and facilities were excellent - Everything was great Nothing
- Sharon (10/5): Loved the accommodation, will stay again. - Location and view was great. Accommodation facilities were excellent.
- John (8/5): Comfortable unit and convenient - Kitchen was well equipped. TV in bedroom and electric blankets. Only 3 apartments. Carport for car. Close to shops. The road traffic noise was not expected . The road is a main highway and with traffic lights immediately below the apartment the constant flow of trucks was high
- Quang (10/5): -
- Yevonne (10/5): -
- Stuart (8/5): - Nice apartment. A bit noisy with the traffic from road
- Pauline (8/5): Good accommodation. Don’t go there if parking would worry you, especially in a rental car. - Good facilities for cooking etc
Penguins near by. The cat park is VERY tight. And difficult to get out of if 3 cars are parked.
There is significant road and traffic noise up to approx midnight and from 5am
Lounge chair needs stuffing or replacing.
- Sheree (8/5): - Very clean and comfortable, roomy. balcony in state of repair during you stay - weather not the best for sitting out during the 2 x night stay - Rachel did explain awaiting glass to complete this upgrade.
Only negative was the constant traffic noise levels - made it hard to sleep in either bedroom. Some salt & peper grinders would have been helpful.
- David (10/5): Highly doubt to eneyone especially family with young children as it is very sucuer - Very clean and great location Very roomy clean and had plenty of kitchen appliances and table wear
- Mark (9/5): Good stay - All was good Truck traffic from 5.00 am
- derek (8/5): -
- Tameika Gillies (10/5): - Great location, clean tidy excellent apartment. Nothing.
- Marg (8/5): Great overnight stay and we would choose it again. - Facilities are great. Carmen was super helpful. The noise level from the traffic is high, which could be rectified with double glazing the front windows.
- David (8/5): Great location, very good value for money. Nicely appointed. Comfy beds. - We loved the location. The view to Bass Strait was lovely. The proximity to Burnie was amazing. The traffic noise was quite loud, especially for people from the country.
- Tracey (4/5): Disappointing stay - Location was perfect, beds were comfortable. There were a lot of issues such as the dishwasher not working, it rained and there was a heavy leak through the light fitting. About 30 magazines stacked that dated back to 2005. The TV was more like a monitor size. There was no salt and pepper in the shakers. It is the little things that make a difference.
- Steve (8/5): Great! -
- Adrian (10/5): Burnie by the bay is a perfect place to stay and relax - Everything was perfect nice and clean as always this is the first time staying with new owners have stayed here a lot over the years and it is good to see the new owners are keeping a high standard on there property it was a pleasure staying and can’t wait to get back again soon.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Always clean and comfortable.
- Pauline (10/5): - Modern, fresh well equipped. Beds very comfortable
- Jamie (9/5): Excellent - thank you - Modern, white sheets, close to penguins, good heating The shower made a huge mess
- Sherry (7/5): Good base for travelling the North of Tasmania - Central location to great pub meal, would be great for business travellers, shower spacious and overhead heating was nice
Beds comfy and rooms were clean Not quite set up for a family to stay eg no room for food in cupboards, main bedroom only had sliding door so couldn't open for fresh air and Jack and Jill bathroom
Would have been a great idea to have the front decking / walkway enclosed so when trying to get inside in a storm we didn't all get wet!
Limited turning area for 4WD if all parking bays were used
- Wendy (9/5): Superb -
- Hayden (8/5): Very good -
- Carol (8/5): Very good - Apartment was lovely great location to walk to shops and restaurants 😀 Should of read reviews property was on a highway I'm a very light sleeper so was awake quite often other than that was a fab place to stay 😀
- Shelley (5/5): Convenient but I wouldn’t stay again purely for the noise factor. - Close to town and easy to find It is right on the VERY main road with trucks passing constantly. Extremely noisy and unpleasant.
- Roger (8/5): Although our apartment was noisy and close to main highway, it served our needs well being - Close to centre of town and for 3 day church meeting. Highway outside property noisy.
- Dabbie (8/5): Very good - Traffic noise
- Jaqueline (6/5): Beautiful apartment, noisy location. - The apartment was lovely. Beds comfortable. Bathroom lovely. Loved the tea selection. It was all clean and fresh. The washing machine and dryer available was great. If you like footy, this one is for you, as football field straight across the road from apartment, and you can see the field. Views of ocean. The noise! Unfortunately, this unit is on a major intersection, trucks pulling up very, very close to front of unit. At times it sounded like the local race track. Fellow in upstairs apartment walking around at all times of the night, which woke us up.
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sianne (8/5): Great View - Location was great, very close to everything. The apartment had everything you needed and the view was perfect.
The Ocean view apartment also has a spa which was an added bonus. Needs a bit more attention to detail in the cleaning. Not bad just not what it should be.
- Lk (7/5): Good -
- Heather (8/5): Very good - Great property with everything you need for a good stay Due to being on a main road and no double glazing on the windows you can’t sleep. The cars and trucks are heard (loud) all night long
- Kerri (10/5): We had a fabulous stay and would definitely come back again - Well contained with a lovely view It is on the main road so is noisy but if you are prepared for that it is fine
- Samantha (7/5): Clean and tidy apartment - Clean and tidy property! Beach view! Across the road from the penguins! So cute Just happens to be a noisy room but the bedrooms are at the back of the property which is good
- Marty (8/5): Very good - Bedrooms comfy and easy parking. Right on highway. Trucks from 4am.
