The log fire kept the cabin lovely and warm for our entire stay. The selection of food supplied was generous and tasty. The fresh oranges were a nice treat. Kerry is a wonderful host, the home made bread she supplied on arrival was delicious.

It had everything we needed and made for a relaxing visit to the Clare Valley. Communication with Kerrie was easy and check-in was simple. We really appreciated the care that had gone into the space. The bed linen was beautiful and the bed comfortable, the fireplace was already laid for us, and Kerrie had put a vase of fresh flowers from her garden in the room. The cheese platter and breakfast provisions, both featuring local products, were generous and far more than we expected. We would happily stay again!

The setting is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, relaxing, and surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to unwind. Kerry was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. Her hospitality really made the experience special. We were also blown away by the abundance of wonderful local products provided. It was such a generous touch and a fantastic way to experience the amazing produce of the Clare region. N/A

Surrounded by beautiful scenery, birds and wildlife, our cottage had everything you could possibly need, including incredibly generous provisions for breakfast, and cheese and wine for evenings on the porch enjoying nature. Plenty of walking trails on the property. Very handy to everywhere in the Clare valley. Kerry is a lovely host. Highly recommend I prefer a very firm mattress, but that's just me

Supplies for a cheese platter with a lovely bottle of wine from the local area was such a pleasant surprise. Kerry and Mark went above and beyond to make us feel so welcome. We cannot recommend Battunga Cottages enough! The location was also fantastic as we were in a nice quiet area but very close to the main town and to all the hubs of the Clare Valley. Perfect stay for couples and groups. Nothing that we can think of!

The cottages are in a quiet rural location just out of Watervale, but all Clare Valley attractions are easily accessed. Kerry's attention to detail is evident throughout.

- Allan (9/5): Cute and cosy cottages in lovely semi rural localtion. Kangaroos in the grounds and birds aplenty. - Check in was easy, and you're presented with a freshly baked warm loaf of bread. The standard and qauntity of provisions in the cottage were exceptional. The cottage is functional and warm, with enclosed wood fire plus a modern AC unit. The cottage has exceptional cleanliness. It looks decptively old but is actually relatively modern. Bed is warm and comfy. Overall there were no negatives to be found and we'd happily return to Battunga Cottages. We had no complaints. It was no concern to us but, for others, this could be an issue. There was no cooker or stove. There is a microwave and electric frying pan and wok.

We were looked after very well ! - Battunga cottages are a beautiful set of cottages just on the edge of Watervale, on a lovely property. We woke to kookaburras laughing! (amongst the other birds and kangaroos) It was a cosy cottage with a warm fire and heating. The weather was a bit wet and rainy as expected in winter! We however were toasty inside enjoying lovely wine and local produce. The provisions were very generous (loved the warm baked bread!) and the cottage was very comfortable. A great place for a get away weekend and to enjoy the surrounding Clare Valley . nothing!

- Gregory (10/5): Valley charm awaiting discovery - Watervale is a charming little wine town that is one of Australia’s best kept secrets. Its world-class Riesling and Shiraz vineyards are barely a grape toss from Mark and Kerry’s wonderful cottages in the bush on the edge of Watervale. We stayed in the delightful Galah Cottage where we found our every want and need had been taken into account by our generous hosts. The cottage was impeccably presented: clean, well-appointed and welcoming, the photos on the website barely doing justice to its warm, cosy appeal. Our breakfast provisions were top quality and abundant, more than enough for our 3-night stay. Our chilled bottle of Crabtree Riesling and superb cheese selection provided a delicious pick-me-up at the end of each day’s valley adventures. The amenities at Battunga Cottages ensured our stay was extremely comfortable and relaxing. We wanted to take our bed with us when we left! There’s a variety of walking trails on and nearby the property and each of them is well worth investigating. The valley views from the top of the hill overlooking the cottages are marvellous. Watervale itself provides a gateway to the Clare Valley and there’s a treasure trove of tourism activities that can be accessed within 20-30 minutes’ drive. If you’ve never visited this beautiful part of the world, there’s no time like the present for making plans. Be sure to place Battunga Cottages at the top of your ‘to do’ list.
- Nicholas (10/5): Highly enjoyable. - Very peaceful. Kitchen very well stocked with wide range of foods. Didn't need to buy anything to eat. Even a very good bottle of wine. Nothing we didn't like. The main attraction is the peacefulness. So quiet. Only a few minutes drive to Waterford. I think the best times here would be autumn or spring. Like everywhere in SA it could get hot in summer but it is air conditioned.

Decorated to celebrate the history of the region, using antiques, old photos, and quirky knick-knacks; I found something new to look at every time I entered a room! Comfortable bed and seating around the cottage. Beautiful, quiet surroundings. Kerry was exceptionally helpful.

- Helen (10/5): Perfect Australian Bed and Breakfast experience. - Beautiful location.Peaceful and close to walking trails and wineries.Watervale General Store ,Watervale Hotel and Crabtree Winery nearby mean you never need to drive more than 5 minutes for anything.If only staying for 2 nights the ample breakfast supplies and goodies would be ample to allow you to just stay in and never use the car at all!

They are fully equipped with god quality items, everything you need. The fire ensures for a cosy warm evening. The welcome treats and breakfast provisions are exceptional. Highly recommend.

The fireplace heats up the whole room and a very nice comfort on very cold winter nights. Our host, Kerry, greeted us with a freshly baked loaf of bread. We were spoilt for choices with the generous breakfast provisions, and Kerry's attention to details are fantastic, We felt really special staying at this place. Nothing worth mentioning.

- Narelle (10/5): Perfect sisters get away in idyllic surroundings. - I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Kerry and Geoff thought of everything! As we have food intolerances Kerry baked gluten free bread for us as well as a sourdough loaf for those without intolerances. The fridge was stocked with bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, avocado, juice, milk, dairy free butter and almond milk and a bottle of wine to have with crackers and dairy free cheese. It was just next level hospitality, the cottages are comfortable, peaceful and a home away from home. You are surrounded by gorgeous bush land, full of birds and wildlife, it is just so relaxing. Cottage is surrounded by gravel, so we felt bad walking back and forward between our 2 cottages, as there was another occupied cottage between us and the gravel made a bit of noise. I hope we didn’t bother them. Maybe stepping stones could be placed along the walkway to soften the noise.

- John (10/5): - We were met by Kerry on arrival with a freshly baked Sour Dough bread when we entered our beautiful cottage we were amazed by the breakfast provisions left for us it included smoked bacon farm fresh eggs local cheeses, Honey , Jams and wine a fresh fruit basket an assortment of teas including herbal varieties a Coffee Pod machine and some lovely home made chocolates next to our bed and as a Bonus due to our Anniversary we received a bottle of Bubbly and a lovely card left for us we loved our stay at Battunga Cottages the rooms were spacious clean nice bed and shower and period decorated with plenty of magazines and books to read and DVDs while we relaxed there Thank you Kerry for going the extra mile for us from John and Marea
- Elizabeth Jane (10/5): - It was set among the gum trees overlooking a creek opposite the main homestead. It was quiet but for the birdsong. A beautiful setting for relaxing. There were a number of home touches and a well stocked fridge.

- Nicole (10/5): Charming place for a weekend getaway - Magical place to stay for a little getaway. The environment was very peaceful and charming. The breakfast foods we were left were incredible (including homemade bread!) and made for lovely weekend mornings, sitting outside with a coffee and delicious home-cooked brekkie. Kerry was lovely and easy to contact. Would recommend.
- Tony (10/5): Awesome Battunga Cottages - We really enjoy Battunga Cottages, the location is great we awoke this morning to the Kookaburras laughing in the trees. It is a very handy location in the Clare Valley, close to everything but quiet and peaceful. The little cottages are very nice well provisioned and very comfortable. We have stayed at Battunga Cottages 4 time in the last 18 months. If you are looking for peace and quiet that is close to restaurants and wineries and the Riesling Trail this is the place to be. We had dinner at Mr Mick's which was excellent, a very nice lunch at the Magpie and Stump at historic Mintaro and an awesome lunch at Paulette's Winery today. We also drive to Burra and had a very nice day exploring the history of the Burra mine and Township a very underrated place to visit in South Australia, if you're into history, go and visit, you need more than one day to visit. Then you can head back to Battunga Cottages and enjoy a wine and platter and relax for a while before the sunsets over the property. Nothing that I can think of.

- Frances (10/5): Beautiful location with many thoughtful extras. - The cottage location was quiet and picturesque, set amidst the trees and gardens of the property, with lavender bushes at the door and grapevines framing the little patio. Inside was very well appointed with many, extra touches that made our stay so comfortable. Very comfortable bed with quality linen, period furnishings in lounge and bedroom and an unexpectedly huge array of breakfast ingredients including home baked bread, cereals, yoghurt, juice, fruit, eggs, bacon, spreads and more. A welcoming bottle of wine and cheeses awaited us on arrival. Outside, the private patio and communal BBQ area were both sunny spots to watch the birdlife. There was so much attention to detail that it was easy to see that the owners really care about their guests' comfort. So much thought had gone into making our stay pleasant and memorable time - there was nothing to not like.

It was full of all the amenities I needed and all the extra homely touches made my partner and I so comfortable. The owner is a lovely lady who has really thought about your comfort and the choices of breakfast and the sourcing of local produce is amazing. Thankyou so much Kerry. We will be back and telling everyone about this place! From putting your own chickens to work for fresh eggs. To the thoughtful products and s.a. made bathroom toiletries. I was so impressed by the smaller touches. It was quiet and relaxing and genuinely a lovely stay amongst the hills.
- Keithhockly (9/5): Boutique Watervale stay - This is a boutique option for a stay in the Clare Valley. Located about a 2-minute drive from Watervale and a 15-minute drive from Clare, you’ll be staying in a with stone cottage on a country property. The grounds are beautiful, and the cottage is comfortable with a kitchenette/lounge/dining room and bathroom! Kerry is a wonderful hostess and stocks the cottage with ample breakfast provisions (fresh fruit, organic muesli, bread, a selection of jams, honey, yoghurt, bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms) and gourmet snacks. We arrived to find a bottle of Riesling in the fridge, cheese, crackers, pate and olives – this was a wonderful touch. We really appreciated the gas BBQ because there is a fabulous butcher in nearby Clare. We stayed in the Kookaburra Cottage. The space didn’t work that well for us because we are on a long road trip with lot of luggage, but this is a lovely option for a weekend treat!
- Richard (10/5): Super comfortable, super quiet, super location, super hosts! - Amazing…The cottage was like a small home away from home. Kerry, the owner greeted us with a fresh loaf of bread and the cottage was well stocked with breakfast foods including fresh food in the fridge. The cottage was also stocked with all sorts, from plasters to sun screen! Location was great, quiet country setting with just a short drive to places of interest. Definitely highly recommend. Nothing.

- Trevor (10/5): - This is a stunning property - the owners Kerry and Mark have added unique touches to the cottages , chilled eon and cheeses awaiting for you on arrival along with a freshly baked loaf of bread and a bowl of fruit . The breakfast items consisted three different choices of breakfast cereal , yogurt as well as bacon , eggs, mushrooms . A very relaxing place to stay surrounded by beautiful gardens and gum trees . It is a very short drive to Clare from the cottages and surrounding wineries. We highly recommend this property .
- Meredith (10/5): Exceptional - We are elderly and I am..unable to walk very far ...We were given great consideration. Our cottage booked was changed to the one very close to the parking. Thankyou. Very thoughtful of the owners. The welcome included cheese and chocolate and wine and a fire set.and ready to be lit. Breakfasts were excellent..bacon ,eggs fruit and fresh bread. We chose to stay in rather than go out on the first night. We were warm and comfortable and v happy. Next day..We could sit in the sunshine and enjoy the smell of the eucalypts,the lavender and the sound of the birds. We were delighted to explore the local scene from here and return to our cottage after dining out.. So pretty. Nothing ...well. ...here's a suggestion maybe a shelf in the shower to hold the soap within reach....and a small table to hold the toilet paper so that twisting to reach back is avoided. But very minor issues.

Cottage comfortable and cosy, tastefully appointed, quality bedlinen and towels. Breakfast, freshly baked bread and other gourmet provisions, fresh fruit and a bottle of wine very lavish! Provisions for special dietary requirements much appreciated.

- Tim (10/5): A cozy gourmet cottage in the Clare Valley - After a warm welcome from Kerry we discovered the our cozy cottage was a treasure trove of gourmet treats. The two bedroom cottage wasn't huge, but on a chilly autumn night with the fire going it was a wonderful place to stay in the Clare Valley. The cottage surprisingly wasn't stand alone, but one of a group of four. The access was quite narrow to get our luggage in, although we did appreciate the trolley supplied to do so.
