- Philip (9/5): Do it for the experience - The Original Royokan - It's an original Royokan, not touched since the 1960's but it's a great experience. Onsen is hot, breakfast is purely Japanese (and lovely). If you've got bad knees or back probably not the place to stay (some accommodation is on a second floor with a narrow staircase). The Mummasan who owns it is absolutely Beautiful, speaks very little English but manages to get the message across and was quick with some snacks and a cup of tea when we returned from our day long excursion. We probably paid top ¥, ¥41000 for 2 nights but it's an experience I'll never have again at 67 years old. Go for it! Upstairs toilet (very very small).
- Mason (10/5): Lovely stay at Fukushimakan. - The woman was very accommodating and even made breakfast early since I’d be leaving early. Amazing breakfast! She made sure that I was taken care of and waved me off until I was out of sight. Very kind and patient with my English :)

- Yisrael (7/5): - This is a very local ryokan, so super authentic (barely any English) which was great. Its owned by a very nice elderly couple that have a few rooms in their house and have a private onsen on the bottom floor to relax in.
While i was there there where 2 girls in another roim and the owners, that's it.
Itn8s. Walking distance to climb mount Kintoki which is a great hike.
If you're looking for a real authentic stay in a real house go for it. If you're looking for western style or luxury then you will probably not connect.

- Giovanni (10/5): Fantastic and authentic place - Fantastico and authentic place. The lady is lovely, and the breakfast and dinner were incredible. A wonderful experience. I'd love to go back today. The best stay of my trip to Japan.
- Sidney (10/5): - Private onsen, super friendly hosts. Clean rooms, tea and snacks.
Merci beaucoup !
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional - Warm and inviting elderly owners who greet you into their ryokan. The food is tasty and a great experience. Rooms are sizeable and have a nice view over the mountains. The surrounding region is very easy for transport and there is a kombini 5 mins walk away.
- Flora (10/5): Exceptional - Very kind and sweet host, although i didn't speak Japanese neither did she speak English we were able to communicate and exchange a few things. I was very touched by her sense of hospitality as well as the charm of this old Ryokan, I would return here in a heartbeat ! The dinner and breakfast were fantastic and the onsen simple but lovely. Most comfortable and plush bed, with a quiet view onto the surrounding mountains from the room i stayed in. Just don't be like me and forget you are supposed to settle for the room on the premises, in cash –there is a 7-eleven atm nearby so you should be fine !
- Omar (10/5): - Our favorite stop by far. The kids adored the place and the owners, it’s like staying with loving grandparents. A very traditional, authentic Japanese household with natural hot springs, and traditional bath robes provided. The fixtures are in their original state, they reflect the history of a family that have shared their way of life with wondering guests throughout the years. The breakfast was very traditional and generous, we enjoyed it with green tea and sitting on the floor with low table. Very grateful for this experience. We will definitely recommend and return.
- Choi Ha (8/5): 服務好 - 婆婆同公公,服務很好,房子比較舊,但晚餐及早餐比酒店食物還好。婆婆雖然只說日文,但單字英語可以,大家溝通都OK
- David (8/5): A small, simple place to stay run by a lovely older couple. - The place is run by a lovely old couple.
They are very welcoming, kind and make a special effort to make you feel comfortable.
The private onsen is a bonus.
A great place to stay for the price.
- Jasmine (10/5): - We loved our stay here. The host was lovely and welcoming and did her best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The homemade breakfast and the bath were the highlights of the stay. Would definitely stay here again.
- Natchapon (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable and cozy.
Great meals. Great onsen.
- Chiara (8/5): Very good - If you are searching for a sweet granparents-like place this is for you. The vintage style of the house is perfect and the futon extra comfortable. There is also the chance to use the bath (ofuro) privately if you are a couple. Breakfast is also fantastic!
- Katherine (10/5): No regrets! - We loved our stay here for the authentic home-stay hospitality. The dinner and breakfast were amazing! I Strongly recommend including the meals in your reservation - I think it was the best part . The onsen was small but private and the water was perfect. I wasn’t sure about the shared toilet, but it turned out to be just fine and still very private.
- Sarah Anja (10/5): - The host was very friendly and the food was delicious. We will recommend it. Kind regards
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vasja (9/5): Superb - Breakfast
- Camila (8/5): Truly authentic Japanese stay - Hosts were very nice and welcoming. The food was amazing and the room and onsen clean. The host accompanied us to the bus stop when we checked out while it was raining a lot. Toilet was a bit smelly. The door of the ryokan was closed when we got back from exploring the area and we had to wait outside.
- ルルーヴァン (9/5): Charming hotel/house within calm surroundings - A very calm and charming hotel/house, with lovely personnel.
The surroundings are very calm, and the place is accessible via one of the main bus line that does the south to north route.
- Richard (10/5): - Very nice traditional Japanese hotel. On site onsen was very relaxing.
