Guest Reviews
- Robert (10/5): Absolutely beautiful location, lovely accommodation, highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Wish I had stayed lo - Beautiful location
- Pani (10/5): Beautiful, sustainable, amazing - Tanya and Brian have cultivated a beautiful property overlooking Kingston and the bay. As soon as you step out of your car, you’re greeted by wild wallabies ! We love how there are information plaques around native plants explaining what the plants are used for in Aboriginal cultures. The pod is very spacious & clean. We especially loved how sustainable the accommodation is. So so beautiful, we felt at one with nature and the land here.

- ian (9/5): POD describes the relaxing cocoon of comfort here - The sheer comfort- light, airy, wonderful view, quiet with all the practical needs covered so well inc bed, shower, toilet, blinds, heater
Friendly and helpful host who left some great caramel slice You need a car but that goes with the location
- Teresa (10/5): - Best stay in Tassie. Brilliant facilities. 🥰🤗 Nothing not to like.
- Peter (10/5): Beautiful country Pod - A Modern well appointed Pod with a great view, native animals roaming freely. Everything was very tidy and grounds are well maintained. Warm and cosy. Quiet location.
- Daniel (10/5): Cozy stay with an incredible view! - Incredible view and location! Tanya was super friendly and helpful. Loved the pod - very cozy and all amenities you’d need. Highly recommend.

The pod had everything we needed, check in was easy and Tanya was so friendly.

- Joanne Stott (10/5): - The view was amazing and grounds surrounds well kept. The host was lovely and helpful, and the accommodation cosy and clean. Lovely and warm room and quickly supplied hot water in the showers. A cosy pod with a lovely welcoming feel.

- Heather (10/5): Very relaxing and wished we could have stayed longer - Location and cabins were excellent, and Tanya’s hospitality and friendliness was amazing
- Melanie (10/5): - We enjoyed the country feeling, whilst being a short drive from KIngston and Hobart. Cabin was clean, comfortable and private with an amazing view.
- Lisa (10/5): - Stunning peaceful location with amazing views and wildlife. A truly special place.
- Markus (7/5): Ok for one night - The view was very nice, but we would not book this accommodation again. It was fine for one night, but not more. The twin beds were uncomfortable, and there was an unpleasant smell, so we had to keep some of the doors open during the night. There is traffic noise behind the property, but it is manageable. Since there are no cooking facilities, you are forced to eat out.
- Shiel (6/5): Other than the lack of cooking facilites, the stay was extremely pleasant, relaxing, & comfortable, - We loved everything about the accommodation, both the room itself, & the natural environment. However there are no cooking facilities & that was a negative for us. The host (Tanya) who is lovely, & welcoming, did provide a type of outdoor grill, but it really didn't suffice for our needs. Other that this we give the Hideaway Pods a high rating Lack of cooking facilities. there was only a fridge, kettle, & toaster available. I admit I missed this detail when I first read the spec of the accommodation, otherwise, had I known this it would have put me off making that particular booking.
- Hannah (10/5): -
- Angela (10/5): - Tanya was lovely and knowledgeable about the area. We really enjoyed the view from our pod and watching all the animals and birds outside our windows. The pod had everything we needed and it was such a relaxing and beautiful place to stay.

- Bernhard (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): - We decided to do something different, rather than staying in the heart of Hobart, we spent our first night of our Tassie getaway at Hideaway Pods. Tanya warmly greeted us and left a tasty treat in the fridge 😋. This place is a short 30 minute drive from Hobart. The views looking down over the bay are stunning. The location is perfect, set amongst beautiful greenery with tiny wallabies happily grazing around you. The Vanilla pod has everything you need for a short stay and the bed was so comfortable. Looking forward to our next stay here!
- wayne (10/5): Peace and calm close to everything - Great spot away from the hustle and bustle. Lots of native animals so take care driving.
- Amanda (10/5): Perfect - The host Tanya greeted us on arrival such a pleasant lady also took us for a walk to feed the goats the whole experience was totally amazing thank you Tanya Don't change anything 😄
- Stevenson (10/5): Gorgeous view, wonderfully peaceful & easy access to many areas of Hobart & surrounds. Warm & friendly host! - It’s a beautiful & peaceful location with gorgeous views.
Loved the well kept gardens & really enjoyed watching both wild & domestic animals all around us.
Tanya is very friendly & accommodating.
- Taylor (10/5): A beautiful and idyllic stay with a wonderful host. - Everything
- Beatrice (10/5): idealer Ort für ein paar Tage - eine wunderbare Unterkunft in einem schönen Garten leider hört man ein wenig die Verkehrsgeräusche der Autostrasse
- Peta-Anne (10/5): - Thanks so much Tanya for having us. We really enjoyed our stay. The facilities were amazing. We loved feeding the animals. The view in the afternoon was spectacular. We cant wait to come back.
- Xiaoxi (10/5): - 非常Nice的房东,房子很温馨,是休闲度假的好地方。
- Laura (10/5): Cosy place surrounded by walibi with a view - Tout était parfait !
- Joshua (10/5): A stunning, relaxing stay in nature just a short distance from the city! - Our stay in the pods was a stunning way to start our Tasmania trip. We spent three nights in the pods and enjoyed every minute! Our pod had a stunning view of Kingston, the river and the ocean, giving us a connection to the city with a sense of privacy that only the countryside can give. Well worth a stay for couples seeking a private, romantic weekend away or as part of a longer trip.
- Joanne (10/5): - Absolutely loved everything about the pod. 100% recommend at least a 2 nights stay.
- Tina (10/5): -
- Anna (10/5): -
- Saskia (10/5): -
- Peter (10/5): Absolutely stunning stay - Inspiring and relaxing, will stay again! - Wow! What a great place to stay - loved the eco vibes, friendly hoppies and of course incredible view. Easy to check in and what a place for the sunrise! N/a
- Amber (10/5): - Wonderful view from the Pea Pod - lovely to be immersed in nature. An abundance of birds, pademelons and farm creatures. The pod is thoughtfully appointed with eco-friendly amenities. 15 minutes from Hobart CBD and a short drive from Kingston Beach, this place is superb to wake up in! Most comfortable bed on our Tassie trip.
- Richard (10/5): We will be back! - Lovely views and wonderful, private accommodation set in a garden that has been beautifully landscaped. Tanya is an exceptional host and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
- sandra (10/5): - Very cosy, view was fabulous. Location was great.
- Masi (9/5): - The serenity,celebrating 30 yrs married life,homemade caramel slice thankyou .
- Angela (10/5): A wonderful stay and a highlight of our beautiful trip in Tassie - This is such a beautiful accommodation in an incredible setting. Tanya was a wonderful, warm host and made delicious caramel slice to boot. I could sit on that porch for months!
We watched the gorgeous Pademelons from the pod and the sunrise over the Derwent. Memories for life and highly recommend..
- Cheryl (10/5): Hobart Hideaway Pods are a hidden gem and we loved everything about it! - Everything! The location, views, hosts, accommodation, flora, fauna, eco friendly. Everything was lovely, comfortable and carefully thought out. The hosts, especially Tanya, were very accommodating and she made the most delicious caramel slice. N/A.
- Eisten (10/5): - Beautiful quiet location with stunning views. Tanya's attention to detail was fantastic. The gardens were lovely!
- Jianyuan (10/5): -
- Julie (10/5): -
- Anthony (10/5): -
- Yingzheng (10/5): - The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the little lambs were absolutely adorable—this is the idyllic country life I’ve always dreamed of! I can’t wait to come back next time.
- Margaretha (10/5): - Amazing hospitality and the accommodation was simply beautiful. Well appointed and everything to make the stay comfortable thought of.
- Anthony (9/5): - The beautiful setting, waking up to the sound of birdsong and surrounded by nature. Lovely host. The composting loo was interesting but understand the eco values
- David (10/5): - Tanya was super helpful and friendly. The Pea Pod was ideal for us as a couple, with amazing views. It was cosy, clean, and everything we needed. It's sustainability and eco friendly approach was right up our alley. We will definitely be making Hobart Hideaway Pods our first choice for accommodation next time we visit the area.
- Steven (9/5): Great atmosphere! - The view is terrific. And having pademelons bouncing around on the lawn and birds in the bushes created a great atmosphere. Earlier advice on the check-in would be good.
- Jan Brown (9/5): Amazing, will definitely visit again. - Loved the pod itself and it's situated in a beautiful location. The view is amazing. The front of the pod opens up completely and would be lovely in summer however I kept everything closed up as it was the middle of winter. Tanya is a wonderful host. The heating and the lights were left on for my arrival and a delicious slice was left in the fridge. The only downside for me was not having a comfortable chair to sit in to read. There are two chairs in the pod and although they look very nice, they are not comfortable to sit in for any length of time.
- Lesley (10/5): What a beautiful, sustainable place! Surrounded by animals, overlooking a fabulous view with amazing creature comforts. - The location, the view, the amenities and the convenience Nothing
- Yi (10/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Xiang (10/5): -
- Guo (10/5): -
- Josh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (10/5): I’ll be back. - A great concept delivered extremely well. Tranquil and private setting. Lovely and friendly hosts.
- Penny (10/5): Oasis in nature - We loved our stay in the Vanilla Pod. Very comfortable. Warm. Great hot shower! The view is out of this world and so special morning and night. Quiet. Tucked away. A little oasis away from the norm. We adored all the wildlife surrounding us. And Tanya is an attentive friendly host.
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Norton (10/5): Perfect stay in the countryside - Everything was to like. Location was exactly what I wished for, countryside/bush life near Kingston township and beaches. Birdlike, animals, but best of all was the serenity of not being in a town or city. Fresh air to breathe, natural beauties to appreciate, and also meeting Tanya (host) and enjoying our chats. I had been eyeing this place for a few years for a stay and it absolutely ticked all of the boxes. I really did not want to leave, four nights weren't enough there. Nothing to not like. Simple living in a gorgeous countryside place.
- Kathryn (10/5): It was a beautiful location and it was well set up. - Beautiful view, convenient location and lovely hosts. The toilet was a eco friendly composting system which is completely fine but was a surprise when we arrived - would have preferred to know before arriving.
- Dodds (10/5): A wonderful location to rest and reset. - The view, the location, the quality of the inclusions, the host. Nothing
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Prue (10/5): The beautiful Pod was a unique retreat experience with an amazing view & native animals with you. - The serenity, the privacy in a hidden away gem. Waking up to fully front glass windows over looking the view was breathtaking. Seeing the native birds and animals on your front door step, morning and night was quite a beautiful experience. The owners were lovely and are all about being sustainable and caring for our environment, which is such an important reminder to us all as we continue to travel around this beautiful country. Having to leave the relaxing ambience.
- Tania (7/5): Good -
- James (10/5): Exceptional - A very worthwhile stay, not too far from the city, open the door to forest lawns and wildlife. You can even have your own BBQ in the evening Eco-toilets are still a little scary to use
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - The accommodation was clean, very comfortable and had great views. Tanya was friendly and easy to contact.
- Jake (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tahnee (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay! - Beautiful property with a lovely view!
- Graham (9/5): Our stay was great! -
- Joellee (8/5): We loved our stay in the pod post wedding chaos! Thank you!! - Loved the location! The view was amazing, especially in the morning drinking coffee in bed :) It was smaller than I was expecting but it was super cosy :)
- Julie (10/5): Superb tranquil hideaway in the bush near cafes, beach and shops - So close to Kingston beach, shops and sports centre but feels like you’re in the bush - waking up to the birds and the cute pademelons in the grounds Limited cutlery and crockery and cleaning up is a bit challenging without a sink
I would suggest a couple of microwave dishes so guests can cook up a meal in microwave if staying in for the night
- Kerrie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kara (9/5): Superb - View was amazing, Host was lovely, comfy bed, good temperature. A bit further out of town than expected.
- Morgane (10/5): Exceptional -

- Gander (10/5): Exceptional - The Pea Pod is set amongst beautiful gardens with a lovely rural aspect. Loved that the pademelons came to visit at dusk each night.
The owner made us very welcome. Only 10 minutes drive from Kingston though it feels like a country holiday. Couldn't fault it for a relaxing few days.
- Samantha (10/5): Absolutely amazing!!! Captures Tassie perfectly. Great for wildlife lovers - EVERYTHING Absolutely nothing. Was a 1000/10
- Veronique (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely hostess greeting with a sweet treat in the fridge upon arrival. The Pod had everything needed from king bed and organic products to more thoughtful ideas of tuba games, dominoes, and pick-up sticks. Can't recommend this lovely farmlet with a beach view enough to just regather oneself. There is nothing to dislike.
