Guest Reviews
- Avux99 (8/5): Breakfast! - Didn’t stay here, we used the Hotel Ali 5 days out of 6 for breakfast whilst we were in town. Unlimited food for 49MAD, can’t complain too much. Didn’t have eggs on one of the days for some unknown reason, apart from that, this place always set us up for the day - we weren’t usually hungry again until 5/6pm!
- Solotravel337 (8/5): Decent hotel in the centre of Marrakech - I had a nice stay at Hotel Ali, conveniently located in the bustling centre of Marrakech, with a currency exchange and location right next to Jemaa el-fnaa square. Lots of restaurants to choose from nearby and links to transport.
The room, although basic, was clean and comfortable and featured aircon, which was necessary with the heat. It also had a nice balcony. The staff on reception were very helpful, particularly with regards to excursions; Ouzoud waterfalls are a must see! WiFi connection and the opportunity to buy bottled water throughout.
Like most hotels, external noise could be heard; wasn't too bad but if not your preference, be sure to bring earplugs. Room keys were to be returned on leaving the building; understandable but not ideal. There was also no safe in the room.
Overall, very good value with free breakfast and everything on your doorstep.
- B5761RJsusanr (10/5): Ali.hotel - Stayed in hotel Ali lots of times its a cool place always buzzing with life right in the heart of medina everything on your doorstep here the real morroco.rooms with big balcony comfy beds plus added bonus of a lift in it. Hind at reception so helpful great English and goes out of her way to please you don't know what they would do if hadn't got Hind she's the best .rooftop restaurant lovely plus the breakfast is in abundance and lovely .I'd rate this place 10 out of 10.thanks Hind for your kindness.
- Dogcater (4/5): Very bad experience! - Very bad experience!
Booked a double room 3 weeks in advance. Got to the hotel....which was very busy...there was a massive queue outside waiting for the currency exchange. Had to push our way through to get to the hotel reception.
Told the lady on reception we had a reservation....she was very rude and told me the hotel was full and I had no reservation. When I insisted..yes I did ...and showed her my confirmation of booking...did she then look and 'find' me on her reservation list....no apology from her.
The roo
Itself was OK...but it had five beds...we had to go and make sure we weren't going to be sharing our room with someone else!
We were woken by drilling and banging after 12 midnight....me and my partner both went down individually to complain...the guy on reception did nothing..until we threatened to call the police.
We will not be staying again.
- Q6115NJvirginieg (4/5): Very noisy, cold welcome and sardin-like room for five - We were offered one room with 7 beds, stuffed like sardins in a tin, while our guide had booked two rooms for five!
No other room available, 8pm, no choice but to accept.
In the room: TV and aircon did not work, there was no window except one opening on a little laundry room ( the person did open the window at 10pm, waking up our son), and tap evacuation in the bathroom was blocked. 2 towels for the five of us.
We were offered ONE other room, slightly better, after one night (3 night stay).
No discount no apologies, not even a smile.
Greatest drawback remains noise: people talking in the corridors at all times if day and night.
Breakfast was very nice, though.
- susanrE7690WW (10/5): We have stayed here 7 times out of 9 visits and will never stay anywhere else now.its just the best location and value for money - Gave ali a 5 out of 5 because its worth it.its great value for money. Its in the middle of everything so no need to taxi to shop the owners and staff are super nice and it has the best exchange rate in marrakech that even outside visitors travel for the value it gives .the rooms with balcony are cosy and huge balcony to sunbathe and watch all the livelyness of the medina .ali has 2 restaurants the one on ground level has the best burgers in medina food is quality for us Europeans.
- nonaMadrid (2/5): Bad experience in the exchange point of the hotel - We had an issue in the exchange point of the hotel, which seems to be the best one in the city. The guy in the exchange point asked to enter the PIN number twice in the payment system because, apparently, it did not work the first time.
We got the dirhams we asked for, but we got two charges in the bank.
When we realized that, we went back to the exchange point but the guys were quite rude and they were not willing to check anything to help us. I do not want to think the treatment was so bad because we were four women, but they asked for our guide and told us to go to the police.
On top of that, although this place is famous for not charging any commission, today they charged a 5% (it was adviced, the paper was just below the one that said they do not charge commission).
Our bitter experience in Marrakesh. Quite disappointed, we had already gone to that place without a problem.
- BENAULT (10/5): -
L'emplacement excellent.
Le rapport qualité prix
- Omary (2/5): - Schlecht
- CARLOS CORTIJO (8/5): - Bien situado.
- Dmitriy (4/5): - Let's start with good things: the location is great right by the square where all the tours take of and market full of diarrhea inducing food stalls. The bed in the room was clean and sheets were properly changed every day. Now on the downside the rooms are dated, bathrooms have rusty faucets and tile is cracked. My last day I had a swarm of ants in the shower that has stains by the way. The worst part is service or lack of thereof. The réception guy(it was the same guy for all 5 nights that I stayed) started by asking what is my room number, whereas normally the hotel assignes it, then he was staying I was from China for a couple of minutes instead of actually checking me in, he never explained where the breakfast was and that I had to get a ticket from the réception for it, that took me good 20 min next morning to figure out still without his input. When I asked where is the nearest laundry(on another day) he pointed outside waived to the left without the name or distance indication.
To resume: great location, dated rooms, horrible service.
- Tareq (4/5): - The room is very basic. The room & bathroom were not clean.Only one small towel for a room of two beds! The elevator can easily be blocked during the Muslim prayer times because there is a mosque integrated into the hotel! Staff reception could more friendly.
- frederic (10/5): - Everything clean
- Rajiv (8/5): Average hotel, Best location, Great location - I stayed at Hotel Ali as my adventure trip pick up was from i front of the hotel. i arrived at 2.30 early morning and the guy at the reception could not find my reservation but eventually showed me to a room. It was a quite room and shower was hot and that is what I needed.
in the morning the girl at the reception was super good. Her name was Hind and she helped with small and bigger things like luggage storage. She was actually one of the reasons I decided to book this place. At the end of my adventure trip, I ended up staying two more nights at hotel Ali because og the super receptionist. She made all the difference.
- Bola (10/5): - Hotel Ali is a very good location and walking distance to the main attractions in the city centre. There is 24 hour reception cover which is quite helpful. The staff are very friendly, warm and helpful. My special thanks to Abdulsalam and Mariam for making my family’s first visit to Marakesh a very fantastic experience.
- Alison (8/5): Fantastic location - Fantastic location- right in the heart of Marrakech,
Close to the square
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The terrace overlooking the park was a nice feature and the door was very good at keeping the noise out.
Staff however could definitely do with some training on politeness and helpfulness.
Room took ages to be cleaned and I still found some discarded tissues. Had to ask for the AC to be switched on as the room was sweltering!
- husain (10/5): - Very helpful and cheerful staff. Clean room although a little small as 4 beds put in a 3 bed room. Great location. Excellent breakfast. Value for money.
- Fatima (8/5): Goed - Netjes ontbijt was goed... álles bereikbaar
Voor rust raad ik je niet aan. Je verblijf in een drukke omgeving
- Mike (6/5): - its in Jamaal el fna square..........................
- M Nasir (6/5): - Stay was overall fine. The hotel rooms are clean but very basic. Quite noisy at night due to traffic. The two girls at the reception were very courteous and helpful. Other reception staff need to improve their customer handling skills. Hotel is centrally located and that's the most favourable point about this hotel.
Sanitair is ronduit slecht.
- steven (10/5): - One minute walk away from the square. Nice little hotel right in the heart of the crazy square.. Will be staying again next year. Breakfast is at the cafe next door
- Verified traveler (8/5): Just the place to stay - Great experience staying at the hotel, reception girls were amazing, made my stay very comfortable and welcoming, accommodating all my needs, always could count on them if I had any questions being new to the country. When I was down on my luck and had run out of money they helped so I could end my trip on a memorable stay. If your reading this girls. Thank you again for your help, ever so great full, best of luck for the feature.
- Hassan (6/5): Marrakech Medins - We chose the hotel for its location which was ideal for seeing all the sights in the old town.
- MARIA (10/5): Bardzo dobre miejsce - Świetny hotel w samym centrum.Czysto i miło.Śniadania O.K.
