Guest Reviews
- Yokasta enith (10/5): Camera e letto perfetti - La camera era molto spaziosa e il letto molto comodo.

- Kirk (7/5): As primary reason for booking was to use the pool, extremely disappointed to have been denied access - The breakfast was hearty and very good. The restaurant (Dumas) was very good. The staff was attentive and helpful. The location was excellent. There is no handicapped access. Everyone has to climb six or seven steps to reach the lobby. I booked and paid extra for a standard suite, but was shown to a regular room. The pool could not be used before 18:00. No advance notice of this restriction was given. My room had no window that could be opened, and there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The corridors were extremely dark and the motion-sensor lights only stayed on a few seconds.
- Boris (4/5): Disappointing -
- Xavier (9/5): Great location, good service and excellent breakfast service - Great staff Clothes ironing service
- Máirt (8/5): Very comfortable and great value - The rooms are very nice and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and professional. The breakfast and the breakfast area are need of major improvement.
- Kléber (1/5): Go to the Oro Verde , same price , much much better !! - The Staff , very friendly and helpful ! Kind and attentive Maintenance, room , food
- Marcella (7/5): Nice central hotel. - Great location. Wonderful staff. Big room with lots of hot water in shower. Poor breakfast. Breakfast was sad.
- John (10/5): Walking distance to everything - The woman who checked me in was very warm and friendly. She gave me information about the room and where breakfast would be served. The hotel is in a perfect location in the center of town. The room was big. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had everything I needed. Breakfast was quite sumptuous with a bowl of fruit with cereal and yogurt, and then a plate of eggs, an empanada and a piece of toast was served. I'd come here again on my next visit to Loja.
- Betancourt (9/5): Superb - Location good. Staff friendly and helpful. Checked out early before breakfast, Without asking a packed lunch was given to us on leaving..would happily visit again. No complaints

- Julie (7/5): really great staff, faster internet needed, more modern Tv needed - very friendly waiters and staff internet very slow, tv very old, swimming pool too full, jacuzzi didn’t work
- Erwin (8/5): Very good -
excelente desayuno.
- DeenaT (10/5): - Excellent location; walkable. The receptionists were excellent and very helpful. The bell boy Angel was excellent! He did his best to always speak English to us and to help us with maps, etc. Our room was perfect. We had a buffet breakfast which was wonderful. We would definitely stay there again.
- Daniel (8/5): Bon hôtel - Un bon hôtel avec un rapport qualité prix acceptable.
- claudioe294 (10/5): Great place to stay - I went there with my family and it was a really pleasant stay, very near the city center and close to everything, personel was nice and respectful, totally recommended. The room was cozy and my nephew loved the pool!
- andyhelenpb (6/5): Hotel ok, but food and service poor - Stayed 2 nights and it was comfortable and clean. But the food was poor quality, and served without any enthusiasm or courtesy. Peru in our last 2 weeks here has been outstanding in terms of service and food, and it is such a shame that this hotel let it down. It feels as if it needs a change of management, to motivate and train the staff...
- WestcoastPeter (6/5): OK for One Night - Basic business class hotel, OK 3-star, low-end 4 star. Located on non-descript side road. Room OK, if a bit dated. Clean room and bathroom, shower head needed cleaning, so water is not coming out in a painful jet. Window opened to street, but no view. No air-conditioning, but none needed. Friendly, English speaking front staff. We had an early departure, so front end staff made us a simple box lunch instead of the buffet breakfast, at no cost. (Not the hotel’s fault, but downtown Loja was dead on a Sunday night. Difficulty finding any restaurant, cafes that were open. Hotel restaurant was open but no customers. Did not try.)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great value. We were very pleased with our stay. Would return again and hope to do so very soon.
- SILFI23 (10/5): Excellent location and concierge - It was a beautiful experience all the staff was attentive congrats in restaurant Soraya in front desk Jhony and everybody I shall recommend this hotel for whole experience and my clients
Regards from Peru
- roberthR4980AF (6/5): Huge Rooms - great service - This place is dated and has seen better days. The rooms are huge with great hot water and the TV gets English channels. The floors in my room were a cheap worn laminate and the roof leaked in the rain. The bed was huge and the mattress very comfortable - above par.
Breakfast was below par strangely although the room was pretty.
There is a pool but it was covered with no house posted anywhere I could find.
The hot tub was empty.
Typically the place had horrid acoustics. I'd love to find a mid-range stand out here in that regard, but it seems the architects and interior designers here don't understand that concept.
I didn't dislike this place. The staff was excellent, but there are nicer options nearby for less money.
- JulioJulia (6/5): Good hotel, American prices - We stayed for 2 nights in a Quadruple room. It had 3 singles and 1 double bed. They were comfortable, but 2 of the singles were very squeaky. We also had some issues with street noise. The breakfast was ok, but we had to wait for it to be ready. The 7am start time appears to be a suggestion only. The staff was friendly, but no English is spoken. The hotel is clean, the internet is good/fast, there is free parking available, and plenty of hot water. Overall, it was adequate. The price was more typical of an American hotel.
- alanrInverary (8/5): Large comfortable room with frig - A very good, reasonably priced hotel with an excellent breakfast included. We chose an interior room which was very quiet but because there were no windows it was a little stuffy despite the cool weather outdoors. The staff was exceedingly friendly, helpful and tolerant of our limited Spanish.
- umbrellabird (8/5): superb and spacious room made for a delightful one-night rest - The only reason I'm giving this place a '4' is because breakfast was served 20 minutes late. We showed up at exactly the time we were told that breakfast was to be served. My friends, plus others in the reception area, made for a total of 7 hungry people waiting for breakfast to be on time. Otherwise: very cordial reception, professional staff. Most important for me: a spacious room, immaculately kept hotel, and a large, comfortable bed. I would definitely stay here again: it is the best place I have seen in Loja so far out of about 20 nights of staying in Loja hotels over the past 15 years. Provide breakfast on time and this place gets my highest marks!!
- garybirder (6/5): overall pretty good, not great - I think this hotel has seen better days but it is still acceptable. The room we had for two stays was big though the hot water in the shower was tepid at best. The food in the restaurant was very good at supper. Lonely Planet raved about their buffet breakfast but we found it to be average at best. Parking garage is tiny and requires great skill to get in and out. Desk staff did not speak English but the menu had full English descriptions. The hotel is close to several of the nice city parks and it seemed safe walking around though I stuck to the main avenue.
- 193jayab (6/5): A bit tired for 4 star! - Staff at reception helpful but no english. This hotel feels like it could do with some TLC-carpets are in poor condition. Not sure how well the bathroom was cleaned as there were 2 use soaps on the edge of the bath. The bath itself looked a bit grotty- just old I think.Fortunately towels and sheets were clean and good quality. It would have been nice to have a hand towel!Nice big room but was rather noisy from street noise and also building work. Breakfast buffet looked okay until a family of coughing children came through and coughed all over the food-yukk!! None. of the supervising staff said anything! The 4th floor Restaurant was okay but empty.Hot tub looked rather grotty. This hotel is just okay- there must be better options in Loja for the price! Good, cheap and efficient laundry service
- 43ver_nicag (2/5): Terrible - I stayed for only one night, the bath was not clean, was like a man stayed and shave and nobody cleaned up before, also the carpet was old and dirty and at the end I could hear everything from my room, the tv on the room next to me and the people in the kitchen!! Worst night ever in Loja!! I complained and ask my money back but they didn't agree, I lost one night and my money...
- N7883ITrichardd (8/5): Clean and personable - We visited Loja in January for a couple weeks.
We had no reservations the first night and they were booked, but accommodated us with "ok" rooms. They offered us better rooms the following couple of nights. Lesson is: make reservations in advance.
However:
Nice, clean and spacious rooms. Staff very friendly.
Breakfast is very good. We needed dinner on a Monday night and were pleasantly surprised!
Excellent value overall.
- nyanyo57106 (10/5): Fantastic Service - We have been in Ecuador for 3 weeks and the service here beats anything we have seen before. They were always helpful and willing to help, we had a great time in their pool and their hot tub. The breakfast buffet was great and we left every morning with a full belly.
We left our camera there and didn´t realize it was gone for an entire week. We frantically called everywhere we had stayed and Libertador let us know they had our camera and would be willing to let our friend pick it up for us. We didn´t expect to find the camera ever again, thanks!
- peterginsburg (6/5): Circulation?? - Shortly after entering one's room it may become apparent that there's little to no means of circulating air. My room had a window that opened out about 4 inches onto the central "atrium", there was no air conditioning or fan available to move air through the room. A friend's room had no window at all and the same lack of air moving devices. The food in the restaurant was average.
- quartetfanatic (10/5): Excellent service in a lovely hotel - My partner and I stayed in Hotel Libertador for 10 days. At first we were given a (noisy)room overlooking the street but when we asked for another one, we got a quieter one. Both rooms were very large and really nice and comfortable.
We found the buffet breakfast excellent and the staff serving in the restaurant pleasant and helpful.
We left to continue by bus to Peru. I asked if we could have a late check-out, as the bus didn't go until 11pm at night. The charming manager not only agreed to let us stay in our room until 10pm (!!) for no extra charge, but she also called a taxi for us. This is what good hotel management is all about and is why we would definitely go back there.
- dungenessa (6/5): Could be better - This hotel has some great things going for it, such as a pool, a sauna and restaurant on the fourth floor with great views of the mountains and the north of the city, but it let itself down by poor attention to detail. Rather irritatingly when I went to use the pool at 6.30 in the evening (stated opening hours 3 till 7), it had already been covered over and only by going down to recepcion and insisting they open was I able to get a swim. The room was OK, but as another reviewer said, rather like a business hotel - if you´ve ever been to a travelodge on the M6 you´ll get the picture. There was nobody in the dining room at night so I never got to try dinner - I´m afraid it´s just too grim sitting on your own in a business hotel with nobody else in the dining room - and there were some perfectly good restaurants in town. Although the hotel was almost empty, they must have herded all the guests on to the same floor, because the room was noisy at night and more noisy at 7.00 in the morning when some building works started. And the breakfast buffet felt a little bit on the stale side. I had some funny tasting eggs and threw up constantly in the afternoon. So I´m afraid I probably won´t be back.
- YW4YW (6/5): Business Hotel - A perfectly adequate business type hotel. Little character but a good restaurant and well located. Our room had windows onto a corridor which meant it was noisy with the windows open or stuffy with them shut! Very little english spoken by any of the staff.
