Guest Reviews
- Leah (7/5): No View - Nice location. Nice staff. Good food at the restaurant. Easy parking. My room overlooked a rickety dock and side of the restaurant. I couldn't comfortably open my curtains to just relax. Had really no view.
- Kellie (7/5): -
- Guest (10/5): -
- Tori (10/5): Beautiful - Perfect location! Easy to walk downtown and stage fort park. Even though it was under renovation, our room was perfect and we had a great anniversary celebration together.
- Lynda (5/5): Was less than expected - It was clean staff was friendly There was construction that we were not told about and they started sawing and hammering at 9 am even on Saturday and Sunday !!. Stated it was close to downtown but could NOT walk to it .
- Vincent (9/5): - Very good
- Hope (8/5): Good Location, great restaurant, and clean comfortable stay - Good location, great food, unexpectedly exceptional wine list and good selection of local beer, very friendly and helpful staff.
- Ross (8/5): -
- Yvonne (7/5): - The rugs, dresser worn down. Even if they were clean it made them look dirty
Not enough closet space. Actually there was no closet, just a space.
- Ronald (10/5): We had a great time! - Had everything we look for: restaurant, bar, pool, hot tub, great breakfast Monday to Friday and excellent location.
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Sheila (8/5): -
- douglas (8/5): -
- Thomas (5/5): -
- Matthew (7/5): Location to area was good. Overall amenities could use some focus. - Location was great for access to marina and restaurants Pool was closed at hotel. Breakfast provided as part of staying at hotel was limited to bread products, fruit, or oatmeal. Climate control hard to sustain/ manage within room
- Stephan (4/5): Expensive for facilities provided. - We liked that the hotel was close to where we needed to be. Everything was dated and the price was inflatedfor what you get. Absolutely fine for it to be a once and not again hotel.
- Carolyn (9/5): -
- Tom (7/5): -
- Marie (9/5): Great local place to stay, clean, friendly staff. - Hotel is in a boat Marina but very close to the Gloucester attractions and walking. It was a good location for what we wanted to see and the breakfast at the restaurant was good. I have nothing negative to say.
- Kenneth (6/5): - Located in an inland marina. The boats are interesting but the scenery is average. This is a very dated facility and it was not built with high quality materials and fixtures. The front desk provided pleasant staff.
- William (8/5): -
- Jordan (8/5): - Clean, safe, quiet. Excellent food at onsite restaurant, at reasonable prices. Staff at check-in was extremely helpful and friendly (needed help with HVAC system).
- Blackwell (8/5): We had a great visit to Massachusetts! - Breakfast was great; good variety of options and was thankful for this included option. Elevator!!!!
- Elizabeth (9/5): It’s a great spot! Worth a visit! - Great location, beautiful views, excellent on sight restaurant The pool and hot tub were lovely
- John (8/5): - Room had a dock view and see the inlet. Room was clean. Have spots for just guest. Staff was friendly and helpful
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Very nice, comfy, clean beds, and linens
- Teresa (10/5): - Great little hotel. Food was excellent
- Charles (10/5): - Very scenic and the hot tub was excellent
- Sandra (10/5): - We loved our stay at the Hotel at Cape Ann Marina. It was nice being able to stay in and have dinner and drinks at the restaurant. Beautiful views of the marina. Great selection of a hot breakfast and fresh fruits. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
- Mary (10/5): - This was a beautiful clean place. The included breakfast was the best, with fresh fruit, homemade breads, eggs, bacon, sausage, juices. A+
The room was very comfortable. It was a bit pricey but we really enjoyed our 1 night stay. We would definitely recommend.
- Shelley (8/5): Clean room - The door to the bathroom sticks and had to really use force to open or close. Room was clean but not much storage in bathroom. Beds were comfortable. The view was of marshy stagnant water but beyond that was a marina.
- Richard (10/5): - Great view of boats and of the marina. Very quiet and relaxing. Really enjoyed.
- Harry (10/5): - liked the pool
- Shelby (4/5): - Was very disappointed in this hotel due to the cost of the room. The condition did not meet our expectations. The room smelt of mold. They are very small rooms.
- mark (10/5): - Great location!
- Paul (10/5): - Eaay walk into town, free parking on site, great food, pretty good rooms
- Karen (10/5): Great Weekend Getaway - The hotel was fantastic! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location and atmosphere was perfect.
- Grasso (10/5): Our stay was so nice, many things to do and see nearby. Enjoyed the Sun Deck and the restaurant. - Property was beautiful, authentic Massachusetts experience. Restaurant was very goood as well. Pillows were very uncomfortable
- Kathy (8/5): - Hotel needs alot of updating, carpets, bathrooms, curtains - pool very cold to enjoy but nice size
- Kathy (8/5): -
- Niall (7/5): -
- wolf (9/5): Highly recommend.. - The location is great. It is the marina. So getting to our boat at 5am was a short walk across the parking lot. Everything was very close. Food was great and there were plenty of other restaurants nearby if you didn't want to eat there. We were close to the ice machine, so the room.was a bit noisy. Nothing we couldn't handle, but next time I would probably want a room closer to the north end of the hotel.
- Allen (8/5): - Liked everything except I had a very loud a/c unit. I let front desk know. Hopefully they will get fixed before next guest arrives
- Paul (6/5): Convenient but needs updating - Hotel is dated and needs overhaul. However, near Gloucester and we were able to walk to the town and whale watching tour. The restaurant is popular with nice views. Service was poor - the starter and main meals arrived same time - we asked for the main to come later and they said they would keep it warm! It arrived whilst we were still on our starter. We weren’t offered dessert - only the bill. We said we wanted to stay longer and enjoy a drink - we ordered another drink and it arrived with the final bill so we decided to leave. Not sure if they needed our table but poor service regardless. Probably wouldn’t stay again.
- Trulie (10/5): - Its always a good time
- John (8/5): - Very pretty location. Nice staff. The property was beautiful, staff friendly. Restaurant was nice with excellent food and servers. The room was very clean, for the price it was outdated and needs an update
- NorthwestCT (9/5): Gloucester is a real treasure for couples and families. - The hotel has an excellent breakfast, substantial with good choices for all. The only problem is that it isn't free Saturday and Sunday. Free breakfast on the weekend.
- Nikki (8/5): - The location was nice 🙂 the price was decent for the area and the summer months Would have liked an elevator we had very heavy luggage and coolers and all that.
- Erica (10/5): - The physical beauty of this hotel blew me away. It is on the harbor and the view of the harbor and the pleasure craft was enchanting. My room was small but well appointed and the back door opened onto a deck overlooking the harbor. The restaurant is also open to the harbor and charming
- Amy (10/5): - The hotel was clean and nice. Could use some updating to the furniture, finishes, rugs and amenities. Overall a nice experience.
- Jorge Sanchez (6/5): -
- jennifer (8/5): - Rooms could use a little update. Curtains should actually cover the windows. Sheets and towels were clean. Staff was very pleasant, polite and helpful. For a 3star hotel it was good!!
- Deb (8/5): - Cordell, who checked us in, was fantastic - friendly, accommodating and very competent.
We were disappointed that our TV didn't work - even when we added new batteries to the remote.
- Margaret (10/5): Awesome place to stay - Since we know the area well. It’s so relaxing.Every one is friendly. Not a thing
- Jill (10/5): Fabulous spot for a getaway! - The room! The views! The restaurant and bar! The pricey suite, no elevator to 3rd floor and its a drive to Glouster without public transportation
- Carol (10/5): Lovely Getaway - The staff was great, our room was lovely. Had dinner at Mile Marker 1, and it was delicious with a great view.
- Judith (8/5): - The two rooms I reserved were quite worn, though very clean. The check-in process was the longest ever. Complimentary breakfast buffet was very convenient and adequate.
- JENNIFER (8/5): Location!! Terrible Wifi - DO NOT COME TO DO WORK AND NEED WIFI. Other than that, it was a good stay. The Wifi is crap, and they do not do anything to fix it. I rather enjoyed that I couldn't do work; however, I needed to.
- Tina (10/5): - Great location
- thomas (8/5): -
- Laurel (8/5): - Pretty waterfront. Clean and has a good restaurant. Nearby town and friendly staff.
- Stephen (8/5): - Situated on a picturesque marina, this is a very well-run hotel with helpful and friendly staff. The bedding is very good. The rooms, while not boutique, are comfortable, clean and spacious enough. A very good and generous breakfast is included. There is a lively restaurant with a great outdoor deck looking at the marina. The property is also centrally located between Essex, Gloucester and Rockport, making site seeing very convenient. I enjoyed my stay and would come back.
- Rocky (10/5): -
- Brenda (10/5): - Restaurant was good, rooms were comfortable
- Michael (8/5): Beautiful place to stay, quiet in the morning and excellent food and drinks. Clean comfortable rooms - The breakfast was excellent with a nice view of the marina, the food was very tasty and hot, nothing was cold except for the water and juice. The TV in the room did not work properly, not a big concern for us, I would have liked the balcony to be private for each room, again no a areal issue, more personal preference.
- Matthew (10/5): - We had a great stay at this hotel. Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, the setting at the marina is very nice. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, as well as the on site restaurant. Would definitely recommend!
- Charles (4/5): - The room was outdated Sheets on one bed were stained with ink. Bathroom very small and outdated
- kelly (10/5): - Will be back soon!
- George (10/5): Our stay - Location was great. Restaurant was great. Room service had a lot to be desired. Also the hotel is older and is in need of a remodel. That being said, we had a great time in Gloucester.
- Laurie J (6/5): - This property is very old, although it is kept up, paint, cleanliness, etc. Convenient to get to. Way over-priced, but we were in town for a wedding and also realize that it is high season. High end pricing for a not so high end property. Stayed 1 night.
- Steven (10/5): - We are regulars as this is so convenient for charter fishing
- Pamela (9/5): Came to the area for a family function and stayed for 2 nights for seafood and relaxing. - Location was nice. And the sea breeze was refreshing! Wish the pool was open a little bit more (either earlier or later). Because of our schedule, we did not have time to swim before it closed.
- Chrysler (8/5): Very good -
- Marie (6/5): Pleasant - Right on the marina, lovely bar and restaurant Undergoing renovation at the time. So no pool facilities and room was very dated. I am sure it will be better once the renovations are all complete.
- Janette (10/5): - Very nice staff and great place to sta!
- Kevin (10/5): - Great Place
- Paul (10/5): - Great, safe hotel with parking for guests. Beautiful views with quality restaurant on site. When breakfast is available it is excellent. Room was clean with great beds (slept like a rock). Great view of the boats. The only 4 star part of the property is the distance to walk to downtown. Need to drive or Uber. To far to walk but they can't help that. Would stay again for sure!
- Michael (10/5): Well trained caring staff, good eats and excellent nautical setting with boats docked. - Staff well trained. Good quality food. Continental breakfast was really great. The thick applewood bacon was delightfully meaty, fresh berries, pineapple. Nothing!
- Matthew (10/5): - They were fully booked for 4th of July and could not get me in at the time I wanted before stabdard check in but took my number and called me as soon as the room was available. They were very polite and worked very hard to make me comfortable.
Also the in house restaurant is lovely. Breakfast was huge and came in under 20 bucks for a large plate that was delicious.
- Quenton (10/5): - Loved the stay
- Nicole (8/5): Very good -
- Seaglass (10/5): Exceptional - Everything!
- Shari (10/5): - Disappointed that the hot tub was not working & under repair.
- Michelle (1/5): Bad - I called prior to going, and the staff told me that the Jacuzzi was working. That was the only reason why I had gone. When I got there at 10pm, I spoke to a staff member who told me I would be able to get in the jacuzzi in the morning at eight. The next.
Morning, I had 2 women sitting at the front desk. And I was asking to get in
to the jacuzzi When I was told it hadn't been working for 4 days, I then explained to them.Everything I had done prior to coming there and asked if I could get some kinda compensation. Where The manager told me and my wife That
They were not going to compensate Us and that They did not have to tell us that the jacuzzi Is working prior to us coming. The one woman that was the manager was very disrespectful. I proceeded on back to my room to pack my things. I then came back down to the office after I was dressed to explain how I felt about the way I was treated at that hotel, and I found it hard to believe had I been another race. I might have been treated with more respect. And which the manager then said she doesn't know what I'm talking about and that she tried to give me free breakfast which was not true. It was an absolute lie.. I would never go back there again. I would never waste my money. I feel so offended and disrespected. I then went on to find another hotel in burlington and booked it and left. The short of the story is that I was totally disrespected as a gay black woman. They are with my wife trying to relax and enjoy a weekend away from the kids. And all I wanted to do was be energeticuzi and lay back and relax for the weekend. The room was mediocre. It was not what I expected nothing was. And the manager's staff member that was there was very short. What made this respectful and basically told me to go on about my business and go back to my room.
The whole time. I was very respectful until I thought about it. After I walked back to my room and decided that I would pack my things and leave and that I will come back and respectfully tell her how I felt.
- Richard (4/5): - food was overpriced
- alicia (6/5): - My room was in poor shape. The screen on the window did not fit the window, so we couldnt leave it open without bugs comming in. The A/C was filthy. The bathroom shower was pitched to the center so it felt like you were sinking in the shower. The bathroom mirror had black spots all over it. The sink was craked. There is no where in the bathroom to put a towel. The bed was the only good part.
- Patrick (2/5): - Outdated rooms and the check in staff was very stressed about the current changes with key locks and this was evident in her short, angry and unprofessional demeanor. Will definitely be sure to not recommend this place for friends visiting the area..very disappointing from start to finish.
- Angela (8/5): - We had a wonderful time. Family , husband and myself had lunch as soon as we checked in. Great food choices. The service was wonderful. We came back in for cocktails the following day and Salvatore C was our bartender. He was very informative of the things that Gloucester had to offer. We enjoyed his information and service.
- Joseph (8/5): - I got there early. Room wasn’t ready. Staff did not notify me when it was ready. Shower was terrible. No consistency with water temperature. Very small bathroom.
- Katie (7/5): It was a great getaway. - The location was nice, the pool was also good. Food at Mile marker one was good. The staff were very nice. The sunrise from the room was delightful. Parking was onsite and included. Bathroom door didn't close, the rug in the room felt damp.
- Ron (10/5): - Close to event I was attending with breakfast.
- Ouellette (10/5): Just right - Setting is wonderful + decor+location. Nice to have view of water from room.
- Kristine (10/5): - Will definitely go back! Great location and price
- Tara (10/5): - Only negative is you can hear footsteps above you but otherwise great stay!
- Jeffrey (10/5): relaxing waterside location with great food - scenic spot waterside with water view balconies, a lively waterside beer garden and you must eat at Mile Marker One - outstanding food! they could do nothing about the weather!
- Susan (2/5): - It was awful. We had to change rooms. The first room stained carpet and tub. Second room a bit better. Neither room was renovated. Poor quality towels and sheets. Worse than a budget hotel and the price was not budget.
- Kathleen (10/5): We had. Great girls trip here! We will be back again for sure! - The property is well kept, has plenty of places to sit and relax both inside and out. The restaurant was very good and had a great view. The pool area was beautiful and clean, we will bring out swim suits next time we visit!
- Barbara (8/5): - Disappointed thst the r#taurant which was good was closed two of my stay days
Maybe on form but never communicated
Also hotel hard to access without a car
- Desroy (9/5): Superb -
- Stone (8/5): Great location! - Great views, good location. Pool and hot tub were closed. The room we booked was not available due to heat issues.
