Buffet food was good but felt a little low quality for the price of the room, paying extra for a coffee at breakfast felt silly. There are a lot of people trying to sell tours to you in the entrance/carpark which feels scammy and i would expect better in a locked compound.

Drink bill got converted to Dollars to add to game drive bill at an extraorbitant conversion fee, plus 3 % added for using a credit card. Game drives very expensive - but really worth it.

- Kasia (9/5): Beautiful lodge in Amboseli! - Excellent lodge just outside of the park gates. We tents were superb, with all amenities, even convertible sockets (nice touch for the foreign tourists). Freely roaming ostriches and small birds were a delight for our daughter. The meals had a large selection of dishes to meet everyone's preferences, and the chef personally came to the dining room to greet guests and ensure all was fine. We had daily game driver with a knowledgeable driver - Alex, who went above and beyond to ensure we got to see all animals. I would definitely go back to Kibo lodge.

Made us laugh everyday! Food is top notch. Staying outside the park is good so you have option to pay for the park or not. We saw Craig the old elephant outside the park at the conservancy.

Disappointing. Very puzzled by the largely positive ratings.

Great place to stay, highly recommend Recommendation to also have oat or soy milk for cappuccino. They only had cow milk which was a bit a pity. And the could offer free water at lunch at dinner.

The lodge is just outside the gate for Amboseli . I choose this lodge for the view of the Kilimanjaro e unfortunately was not visible from my tent! I was there with friends and they put us not close to each others ! We asked !
- RANI (8/5): - Honestly, it was OK but there’s a few things that they need to work on. They should have a WhatsApp system where we can connect with employees when we need something in the room instead of walking all the way to the front desk to ask for a simple thing like a towel. Also the system of ordering is ridiculous. You have to sign on every order you ask for. For example, if you ask for white wine, they give you a paper to sign for it then if you ask for Water, you get another paper to sign for it so you get 5-6 papers to sign For a few things that you order. And you have to sign before the water even comes to you.

The pictures of the " Luxury tent" show that you have a view of Kilimanjaro...but you do not. .I think that this should be stated. This was a huge disappointment as this was my first group that I have brought to Amboseli.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Mixed - Exceptional service for dinner and Lunch. Thank you, Felix, for your attentiveness. We were awoken at 3.58 am on a Sunday with blaring music next door. Literally 100+ decibels. We went for our tour after breakfast (incredibly, the music continued after we reported to management). On our return, we found that this continued because there was a "Church Service" next door. Chanting, "Talking in Tounges," and preaching continued until late afternoon on Sunday. The manager never gave us any feedback. There is an issue with the location of this church service in the quiet of a National Park Resort. The bar/Lounge service was simply horrible for us. The service staff in this section were passive and unattentive. This is in sharp contrast with the dining section, where the service was exceptional. But I think this perhaps was just our unlucky day as the other guests seemed to have a great time. The food was very good overall. Good value for money. We experienced 16 power outages, lasting from 5 to 15 minutes each. While we eventually got used to them, it would have been helpful if we were informed about this normal occurrence in advance. Forget using Wi-Fi in the cottages. (Well, for the ones facing Mt Kilimanjaro's side, at least.) Forget about hot showers in this section. Hope for lukewarm. The reception staff is mixed—very good mixed with very bad.

New year eve was for the town and employees , not for the people of the hotel. Very disorganised. At the end they wanted to charge me 3% more of the bill! No reason why!
- Zipporah (9/5): A luxury African experience. - Kibo Camp was exactly what my husband and I were looking for. It was a beautiful tented camp with great service. All the staff were delightful and we particularly enjoyed the pizza and massage. We will most definitely be back! We couldn't reach the reception as there was no phones in the room. It wasn't really a big deal but it would've been nice given how far our room was from the reception. I'd still go back though.
- Novak (9/5): Well cared for and catered to as a solo vegetarian traveller. - I arrived as a solo traveller making his own way there, which I gather is not very common. Most guests seem to be on tours or packages. The staff seemed to recognise this and made a real effort to make me feel welcome and cared for, which was lovely. The facilities were great, the place was clean, and the food in particular was excellent. Lots of variety in the buffet and great options for a vegetarian like myself.

I had made a paid reservation with Booking.com, which the reception staff said had been cancelled at the time of our check-in. As a result, I had to pay on site for our stay. Booking.com helped clear up the double payment,

If combined with Maasai Mara, go here first. - The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the food was good with a lot of choice every day. The camp was very quiet at night and we managed to have a good rest. I think the lack of wifi signal inside tents can be easily solved with some modern and affordable solutions, though overall it wasn't a big deal.

- Keisha (7/5): Close to Amboseli Park and Spacious Tent with Nice, Hot Shower - The location is close to Amboseli National Park. My room rate was inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner, but you have to pay for all drinks, even water. The tent style is cool, the room is spacious and the showers is nice - hot water. There’s a fridge in the room too and fans. The turn down service is nice too. Lastly, the staff were friendly. The bed mattress was a bit hard and the towels were pretty worn. I didn’t think it provided a good view of Kilimanjaro - we didn’t see it as this camp, which could’ve been because of the clouds and where the camp is, but saw it much clearer at another camp.
- Kyle (7/5): Fine and Comfortable but Price Tag Isn’t Justified - The rooms are spacious and attractive, and many have excellent Kilimanjaro views from the patios. Several staff members were exceptional including Josephine and Redds in the restaurant, as well as our housekeeper (Tent 21 Oct 2-4) and the hostess who wears her braids up in a bun (in case management reads this). Food was decent to good on most days and the pool was refreshing. The hotel definitely could improve some things. First off, the price per night is crazy for what you’re getting (this is not at all a luxury property). While some employees were fantastic others weren’t helpful at all. We weren’t given any basic information upon check-in about meal times, passwords, or anything. The lack of Wi-FI in tents (given the price) or any in-room coffee facilities (again, given the price) is also not really cool. Overall, the vibe can feel a bit Cruise ship (large groups from companies and elsewhere, a hit and miss buffet, and so on). But in the end it’s pleasant enough.

LOTS of people. you can call it mass tourism at a safari lodge. also, the room was a bit small for three beds.

Great staff - Staff were excellent ( Bernard, Duncan, Griffin, Chef, Hotel mgr) Food was great, Chef was very accommodating and doled out Kenyan dishes on request. Also has good veg options. Sleep quality was good, mattress are pretty comfy for people with back problems & better than many 5 stars in Kenya. We stayed 2 nights and could do safari for a day , Bernard helped us by optimizing park entrance fees else we would have overpaid! Air Mombasa damaged our bag lock it was not opening and we had a hard time but the hotel staff were very helpful in opening. The hotel has great views of Mt Kilimanjaro and is close to the park gates, good access to get in to park and also to go out on highways. Nothing

- Abdirashid (3/5): Poor - We were four friends (two from the USA, one from Serbia and one from Kenya). We booked Kibo for three days through booking.com. As we reached, we found that the internet access to our rooms was difficult. Immediately, we complained, and we found that the internet has no solution. We were not able to stay as we were all businesspeople who were communicating with their business branches. So we decided to cancel for the rest of two days. The manager said they charge us two days and refund one day. However, they have never communicated with us.

- Hildegard (10/5): A real safari feeling! - A really lovely place where all the buildings are tents. So you get an authentic safari-feeling. The staff who are a great many are extremely attentive and discret. The bar with its nice tenders ( especially Tobiko ) is a wonderful place for a sundowner. Also the pool area is quite beatiful. But best of all: the incredible view of Kilimandjaro! You can ´t get enaugh! The wifi is very weak or rather not existent. As we had to make our online check-in for our flight back home we had to sit in the lobby where the wifi still worked if slowly but to some degree if you era not in a hurry. And the „street“ leading to the camp is a challenge even for 4x4 cars.

- Jennifer (10/5): - We loved our stay at Kibo Safari Camp! We stayed for 5 nights and were made to feel very welcomed and at home! Dinner is amazing - there is a wood burning pizza oven and different grill stations! The bar area is beautiful and spacious. Our tent was very spacious and comfortable. It did not get cold at all, which was surprising!

- Sebastian (8/5): Kilimanjaro at your doorstep - This place is located beautifully, at the entrance of Amboseli and with a stunning views of Kilimanjaro. It’s a close drive to Kilimanjaro Baloon Safaris, a professional company which takes you to unforgettable early mornings balloon rides. Service was quite good at Kibo, the food was ok. Desserts were plain, and being emptied quickly without being filled again The rooms aer beautifully done in true African style. We asked for floors to be cleaned, twice, something that hasn’t been done There weren’t enough towels, and no conditioner/shampoo/bodywash that one would expect to get in places of this price range And there were school excursion at the same time, something that’s made us complaint to the manager because of the noise during the evening All in all, a great place with a beautiful location We would definitely come back if they would improve these small things that can make a big difference

The lodge was the exact outdoor safari style we were looking for! Will definitely return and recommend to all of our friends.

Generelt mindre og dårligere utvalg av mat sammenlignet med tilsvarende lodger.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Located very close to the Amboseli park gate the property offers a very scenic resting place before or after the next safari. Having a friendly stuff, good food and comfortable tents it was a good pick for our stay during our Amboseli national park trip. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Construction in lobby which is the only place the wifi works, which was very irritating. No non-dairy options for coffee and tea, not that hard to get almond, soy or rice milk. Felt like much of the staff was in training, which is not what I want to deal with. Most of the staff was very friendly. Food was ok, had vegan options. Wifi didn't work the whole first day, which is a nuisance when you are trying to download pictures from the day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a very nice hotel resort. The tent is in good condition and spacious. Security is good especially it is in fact a tented accommodation. You feel so secure within the camp. It was so nice to sit outside the tent (they provide sofa chair outside the tent which is so considerate). Looking at the sky and hearing the natural sound at night was really a great experience especially for visitors from cities like us. The only setback is the hot water. I was forced to take cold water bath twice. One is in the afternoon when i got back from safari at 1pm (a break of the safari and resume at 4pm again). It was OK because it was in the afternoon time which is sunny and hot. But the other time they told us that they need to "repair" the water pipe which takes hours, we have no alternative but to take cold water bath at night (it was around 12-15degree celsius at night with cold wind).. It was really shivering and not pleasant. The food is very good which provides both European and African cuisine and covered a lot of dishes. I would say their food is amongst the best I have ever taken in my African trip. The hot water problem is just a minor thing and overall this is a very nice accoomodation and experience. Highly recommended!!!
- Brigitte (8/5): Amboseli - Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Service could of been a bit better. Not much to do in the area except safaris. Pool is very cold but nice. Food was good but always the same stuff every day.

The only downside is it that its a very big place and it can sometime feel like a school camp! But otherwise it was a wonderful stay. Food, showers, bed, staff all get a big tick Internet get a cross.
