Guest Reviews
- Vicknaa (10/5): - Amazing view and the location is great, hospitality and very good property
- Angelo (7/5): -
- Ken (8/5): I will be back - Great location very tranquil and peaceful thoroughly recommend
- Quintino (7/5): -
- Josephine (9/5): Staying in Seymour - Great little cottage to get away, comfy bed and couch. Nice to have a wood fire heater and electric blanket for the cooler nights too! BBQ outside with a table and chairs to sit and watch the kangaroos hop past! There was also a fire pit that could be used. Fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave and coffee maker available to use, and there was also an electric frypan in the cupboard if you wanted to cook. As we stayed during Easter, we had a lovely surprise of a little port and some Easter eggs which was very cute! Just to note there was a high window that doesn't have any way of covering up from the sunlight / sky view, so bring eye shades if that affects a sleep in or siesta.
- Bonnie (10/5): Enjoyed it very much - Attractive, comfortable clothing nnwction with nature. Pull out sofa bed was uncomfortable.
- Bob S Pants (8/5): -
- Eileen (10/5): Fabulous - Fabulous place
Sadly we had to leave due to fires but staff were wonderful and made sure we were ok . Nothing . Sad to leave . Will definitely be back

- Scott (10/5): -
- Robert (8/5): -
- Phillip (10/5): Peace, quiet and so relaxing - Cabin was so comfortable and had everything we needed. The bonus port was most welcome. The gardens are in full bloom and welcoming. While we did not have a need for the cafe, it was not open during our stay.
- d'Hotman (10/5): Exactly what I was looking for. - The cottage was so cosy and perfect. Amazing complimentary items and the location was perfect too.
- Jenny (10/5): - Nice and cosy with an open fire place. Peaceful area and best of all it's pet friendly.
- Sylvia (9/5): - L9cation and inclusions. All good ty.
- Lisa (10/5): Was great to relax and slow down. A great couples retreat. Privacy is good also - It was nature at its best. Beautiful. Far enough away from the road to hear the birds. Was wonderful having the fire going whilst I was there.
- Phillip (9/5): Serene, comfy and peaceful. - The facility was a peaceful place to stay but close enough to town to not be isolated. Melissa and Aaron have a fantastic place to live and work but the grounds are in need if some attention. They are providing such a fantastic place to stay but time shortage is a telling factor in the grounds upkeep. We love the rusticness of our Trawool stay.

- Mcleod (8/5): Delightful holiday with pets. - Was awesome to be able to holiday with our dogs for the first time and the owners were accommodating to them too!
Air con was fantastic and the shower was super relaxing.
We enjoyed sitting out on the deck enjoying the view and peace.
Owners were friendly and made check in and out very easy! Thanks heaps ! Being the time when the restaurant etc is closed over Xmas we didn't get to sample the delicious looking menu but we plan to return to do so. Because of this I think , the spa area was a bit messy with leaves etc but I'm sure this will be cleaned up in the on season !
- Barbs (8/5): Very good - Comfortable, quiet with lots of space
- Ross (8/5): excelelnent despite the saturday weather - didnt have the breakfast The noisy night bird-lol
- Helen (10/5): lovely stay - We found the weekend very pleasant, the location was fantastic for access to the rail trail, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast at the cafe was delicious.
- Eamon (7/5): Met expectations - Location was great for what was needed Not a lot of space to cook food or prepare
- Emma (10/5): Great stay in a peaceful location - Great location. Peaceful and with the rail trail just over the road for a morning walk or jog. Nice and clean and well equipped property N/A
- Peggy (10/5): Perfect pet friendly cabin! - Loved staying here! The cabin was lovely and clean and perfect for my puppy and ferrets. Having a fire to sit in front at night was amazing.
- Stephen (9/5): The Trawool cottage was a great place to stay, it was warm, comfortable and exceeded our expectations. - The cottage felt welcoming and had everything we needed for our stay. We felt ‘at home’ from the moment we walked in. The chocolates on the coffee table were a delightful surprise.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Craig (7/5): Good -
- Madsen (6/5): Second time there, not sure if l'd rush back. - Food & service in the restaurant, was good, cottage was clean. Beautiful surroundings, linen clean & fresh. No fire wood, or fire starting equipment, had to go ask, staff brought it later in the afternoon, no sugar provided, air coniditoner cover broken, whole place was a little tired.
- Mike (5/5): Passable - Not open for business No communication with staff at all
- Hannah (8/5): Cute cottage stay, great restaurant food and super dog friendly - Cute little cottage, was so great being able to take our dog as well! The cottage was well equipped and nice having the hot tub to use. The food at the restaurant was really delicious and lovely staff. Definitely eat there when you stay (probably better than lots of restaurants in town)
- Bill (10/5): Happy Chappy a restful place I thought the bed was going to be too soft but just right for a good night’s sleep. - Rural setting great views Nothing that the owner could do. Truck noise changing gears to go up the hill. Got used to it. The couch for us oldies took a bit of getting out of. Being able to sit outside and take in the atmosphere and bird life an added bonus. Next visit I will be better organised I didn’t realise the restaurant was closed to get a feed. My bad didn’t read the site properly. And I will get to try out the spa.
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Norm (10/5): The stay was very pleasant apart from a couple of hiccups. We have rebooked same dates for 2025. - The breakfast had a huge selection to choose from and what we had was delicious. The lunch we had was also first class and the surroundings were really nice. The cottage when we first got there was very dusty from bobcat works to lay instant lawn. The problem was quickly solved once we reported it. The blinds were hard to operate but we have been told that planned renovations will fix that. The TV reception was dreadful so something has to be done to improve that.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacob (9/5): Superb -
- John (8/5): Better than staying in Seymour - Nice and peaceful and plenty of room
- Kathy (7/5): Good - Well sign posted and easy to find.
Cottage tastefully decorated and had everything I needed.
Good blinds on the windows.
Mel responded very quickly and positively when I texted late at night about barking dog. Large window above bed without blind.
So close to other cottage you can’t avoid hearing everything when they use their verandah - conversations, mobile phone pling/game noise.
I had booked for some longer for and much needed R&R and solitude, great place but not the right booking for me
- Christsan (10/5): - I just love how they called their peacocks as "free range chicken"
They are very pretty and chill.
Melissa has been super helpful and i definitely will come back!
The cottage is super honey and clean :)
Only thing is the air cond is not strong enough for a very heaty day.
- Piers (8/5): Very good -
- Mohammad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suna (10/5): PERFECT TRIP ACCOMMODATION! - Amazing staffs! They were so lovely and welcome us and even our dog! The view is wonderful, cozy and clean, nice room, only 2 cottage good privacy, shopping center nearby, fishing area, spa was wonderful and spa area was well maintained. To be honest we were so lucky that we found this cottage! Definitely gonna back! Thank you so much for staffs! The mattress was bit uncomfortable for me
- Adam (10/5): it was a pleasure staying there and will definitely be back. - The location is a lovely, quite, secluded spot in which you can unwind from the city hustle.
the hosts go out of their way to ensure your stay is perfect. The only negative feedback i can give, is the bed is a little uncomfortable and squeaky.
- Tessa (9/5): Superb -
- Upendra (10/5): A place to unwind and relax with the family. - We had a really great time, we stayed at the Banksia cottage and it was a lovely space for us with all the amenities.
The cottage was equipped with a living area and a TV with streaming services, kitchenette (including a hotplate), a very clean bathroom and a kettle bbq (gas) in the veranda. Very comfy double bed with heated sheets etc, overall very homely and cosy feeling.
Big nice garden, plenty of space kicked the footy around with my son and he rode his bicycle. We stayed there over the grand final weekend and we loved it.
Melissa put together an off the menu dinner for the little one and we had a great lunch at the café they day we checked out. Cant really of think anything.
- Denise (9/5): Superb - Lovely fully equiped cottage. Road noise and peacocks during the night
- Raymond (10/5): Would recommend my friends to stay here. - Breakfast was satisfying and reasonably priced.
- Greg (10/5): Peaceful and low key. - Loved the wood heater, the bird life, the Spa and the private space.
Nice that there was a pet friendly unit - even if we didn’t use it. Nothing - it was great!
- Brooke (8/5): Cute cottage, warm and cosy. - Very cute cottage located only 7 minutes drive from Seymour. The property is peaceful. There is a second cottage next door, great for two couples travelling together or twowork colleagues.
Nice Cafe/Restaurant on site. Very nice chocolate and port on arrival. Standard continental breakfast included. Nothing
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Private, Friendly staff.
- Christopher (7/5): Good -
- Darren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Salmon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Candy (10/5): Exceptional - Mel and her staff were lovely and accommodating.
Great communication from the start. We appreciated Mel's effort to get the spa fixed just on time for our stay. The property is a cosy cottage with a split system and indoor fireplace. The bed is comfortable. The shower gets really hot, took a while to figure out on her to get a good temperature and pressure but it works great. The place is clean. The breakfast box was very much appreciated, delicious sourdough bread. The spa is a short walk from our accomodation, it's a separate structure decorated with fairy lights and you can use your phone to connect to Bluetooth and play whatever music you like. The spa was definitely the highlight of our stay. Our pup enjoyed our stay as well. There is a walking trail right across the property and a short hill you can hike behind the property. The air was nice & fresh when we were there. We had dinner ordered from the cafe next door delivered to our room, food was delicious and nice & hot especially the soup. Perfect for a chilly night.
Location wise it's a 10 minute drive to Seymour. And 30mins to Nagambie
We had nothing to fault and really enjoyed a much needed break there. Thanks for having us and see you again next time
- Matt (9/5): Cosy and comfortable - Cosy and comfortable, loved the spa out the back and Melissa was a nice host even though we didn’t get to chat too much to her. Loved the high ceilings and cottage feel. Even though the bed was super comfy, it squeaked as soon as you lied down on it. Plus the microwave is legit 30 years old.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katrina (8/5): Very good - Tranquil, quiet, lovely fireplace, nice touch with the coffee pod machine, Chromecast enabled tv, port was very nice, lovely view. Spa was out of order (one of the main reasons I booked). Bit skimpy on the kindling and firestarters. No one to greet you on arrival (& no alternate instructions). Bed not overly comfortable. Terrible toilet paper.
This place has the potential to be awesome, just a couple of small fixes and it will be great.
- Madsen (8/5): Would go back
Yes, overall a nice spot, a few glitches - The restaurant & staff were, brilliant, lovely little establishment, food was good. Complimented the Chef. Thought l had bood a room with a tub or spa. Only spa was outside & out of order, no change to price. Need a sharp knife in kitchen & a cloth to wipe things, firewood provided was green.
- Heath (7/5): Good -
- Naomi (9/5): Lovely comfortable cottage. Nicely furnished. Pleasant hoss. - Breakfast was huge and delicious. Couldn't get netflix n TV
- Kelsey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Farrow (9/5): Superb -
- Kylie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Geoffrey (9/5): Superb - Location, property and the weather was superb The road heading to Yea in early morning light is a very dangerous situation on climbing left turns over a crest.
- Kate (9/5): Superb -
- Kelleigh (10/5): Amazing place and stay! - Amazing stay at such a beautiful property. The quaint little cottage was just lovely and cosy, very clean and comfortable. Mel the hostess was so nice and welcoming and the restaurant is great, nice food and so handy being right next to our accommodation. Would recommend to anyone! Nil

- Jenny (7/5): A great getaway only an hour from Melbourne - Comfortable, staff ready to help with anything if needed & restaurant on the property had delicious breakfast & lunch looked pretty special too. Loved being able to have our dog with us. Although the cottage was very comfortable it could do with a bit of an update.
- Val (9/5): lovely couple of days self contained with nearby cafe and less than 10 minutes to nearest town. - Spacious , comfortable in lovely setting. great breakfast at cafe next door included. bbq in the porch. Lounge was not the most comfortable just ok.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - This place was a nice surprise! Very comfortable. Beautiful surroundings.
- Clare (8/5): Country hospitality - These cottages are set well back off the road so it's reasonably quiet. The ambience fr o m the coonara was lovely, gave a cosy feel to the room. Outside seems to have been neglected but may be due to the weather.
