- Nicole (10/5): - We loved the peace and serenity. Was good to get away from all the city noise and just be able to relax
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Sarada (8/5): Very good - Very good place for the family trip. Children enjoyed the most and the kangaroos hopping around every morning was the best. We enjoyed our stay hopefully visit next time.😌 No internet and mobile service while inside the property.
- Julie (9/5): Loved staying here, so quiet & comfortable. - What a nice surprise to have a breakfast pack. Everything we needed in the kitchen.
Very quiet location with cows & kangaroos visiting.
It was perfect for us visiting family.
- Courtney (4/5): Extremely disappointing is an understatement - The cottage runs off tank water, we ran out of water the day after check in (we barley used the water the day/night of checking in) which was the day of an event that I needed to be at but because we couldn’t use the showers/toilets we were severely delayed, tried to contact the host multiple times and couldn’t get through so I drove down to the local petrol station to buy bottled water to wash myself and 1 year old son in, there is no wifi and the reception was so bad I was literally in SOS the entire time and couldn’t contact my partner to tell him that I and our son would be late to attend the event, couldn’t use basic amenities pretty much the whole stay it was a joke, the cottage was also dirty and needed a good vacuum
- Emma (8/5): Very good - Spacious cabin with beautiful country views. Lovely to wake up and walk around the farm to see cows and kangaroos.
- Mary-jane (9/5): Superb -
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kym (9/5): Superb -
- William (8/5): Enjoyable and the owner was helpful in giving recommendations for dinner, etc. - Breakfast materials were supplied ( eggs, bacon, toast, tea, coffee and milk). Kitchen had great utensils for cooking etc.
Privacy was good, friends loved playing table tennis and darts. Close to wineries, cheese shop, olive shop and Bulga tavern. It was extremely hot (43 degrees) the day we arrived. The airconditioner worked a treat but took a while to cool all the rooms.
- Ciara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (10/5): It was everything we had hoped and a mob of kangaroos that delighted the small boy in our family. - Beautiful location in natural surroundings
- Tim (9/5): owner was very accommodating place was very peaceful - quiet pantry could have been a bit better stocked
- Janette (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, comfortable and quiet, breakfast hamper supplied. Very friendly owner.
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Terese (10/5): So good we’ll definitely be going back. - Our hosts Ken & Karre went above & beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable, relaxing & that we had everything we needed.
The villa was very spacious & well presented, with plenty of towels for us. The kitchen & BBQ facilities were amazing & the view breathtaking.
An abundance of local wildlife came to visit, which was an added bonus. I cannot think of anything I didn’t like!!
- Ederson (8/5): - Simple but very cozy place. Recommend.
- Parmod (5/5): Disappointing experience - Property is located in a quiet area so away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. The game and bbq area outside was nice but not well maintained. No shortage of kangaroos around the property. I felt the photos on the website was misleading as the villa has no view (if you are looking for a place with a view of vineyards this is not your best option). Overall cleanliness was disappointing. One then bathrooms was really dirty with the bottom of the toilet seat disgusting. No shelf area in that bathroom either. “Well equipped kitchen “ needs a definition check. Missing some of the basics like a peeler, paper towels and cleaning supplies (was asked to clean the bbq after use but with what??!!). BBQ was dirty (you can imagine why). Owner seems very frugal with only small portions of milk, sugar for a family of 4. No condiments (so get your own!). Was asked not to use one of the single beds as will need to be remade!! And get your own firewood for the fireplace outside.
- Rumble (9/5): friendly host, comfortable stay - great location-very quiet & comfortable nothing
- Katie (8/5): Very good - Excellent location. Accommodation is spacious and well provisioned. The kitchen was small, but had everything we needed to cook simple meals. Loved the breakfast items provided, very helpful and thoughtful. Ken was lovely, friendly and helpful. Safe space for our young child to explore outside, he loved watching the cows, kangaroos and birdlife. Whole cottage needs a good clean, cobwebs and dust in all rooms and greasy residue on kitchen surfaces. Kitchen utensils not cleaned well,
rings inside coffee cups, greasy fingerprints on glasses, pans with food residue.
- Carolyn (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (9/5): Secluded, peaceful, can't wait to return!! - Amazing location. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Breakfast foods waiting for us. Wonderful location for little ones to run around. Phone service is minimal but it adds to the secluded experience.
- Elaine (9/5): Superb -
- Fabienne (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Adrian (1/5): It was very bad - Not much around the location.
There's a nice pub 15min away. The owner changed the price when I stayed there and modified all my booking information on booking.com.
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Parminder (1/5): Bad experience and I’ll never book that place again. - Nothing I book entire cottage but they only provide one room and ask for extra money when i arrived there.
- Cosimo (10/5): - Quietness and cleanliness
- Craig (10/5): Loved it again - This is our 5th trip in 9 years. The location is quiet, the wildlife amazing and darts and ping pong make for great entertainment. The breakfast left for you to cook is plentiful and is cheaper than buying your own.
Great place for 6 buddies, or romantic for a couple.
- Bram (10/5): - The name sums it up. The peaceful stillness with the backdrop of the rocky escarpement and about 50 Kangaroos hanging around the cottage sets the scene for a relaxed getaway, especially when you get the firepit going at night. Wander through the bush or enjoy the many vineyards along the road.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Serenity Grove. It was cozy yet spacious and central to everything we meeded such as wineries and restaurants. We would definitely recommend this place and stay here again.
- John (10/5): Serenity says it all. - The cabins at Serenity Grove are first rate, really comfortable, roomy and well equipped. We had a great couple of nights there. The owners have really thought of everything to make the accommodation perfect, including even some bacon and eggs in the fridge to cook for brekky, good coffee too. There is even a fantastic fire pit outside for sitting under the stars (of which there are many) and enjoying a wine by the fire. Cabins are air-conditioned so perfect both summer and winter. We had a herd of cows in the paddock next door quietly grazing away in the afternoon and then a mob of Kangaroos next morning. The local area has some fantastic wineries and is much quieter and friendlier than the main touristy end of the Hunter valley. The cabins are well back from the main road so you have the best nights sleep in beautiful silence.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Serenity is the keyword, it delivers! And so superbly placed to visit the local wineries. This was perfect and met all our expectations and then some. Most recommended!
- Margaret (10/5): Well located gem - This accommodation was so convenient to our wedding venue five minutes down the road. Beautiful valley setting. We were made very welcome on arrival. The cottage comprised loungeroom, with a/c and tv, 2 clean bathrooms, a well provisioned kitchen and 3 comfortable bedrooms, with potential beds for 10 people. Basic toiletries comprised a small soap and handwash so bring your own. I would have liked a choice of bedding with perhaps a lighter weight blanket option, as the doonas provided were almost too warm. Beds were comfy.
Breakfast makings provided were basic, with bread, eggs and bacon, juice, plus hot beverages including plunger coffee. The provision of a good quality white bread, or wholemeal, plus some marmalades or other spreads would have been nice. The verandah seating was great for morning use, and we saw a large mob of kangaroos while having breakfast.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would come again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice relaxing country getaway.
Will definitely come back again soon
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful, quiet, friendly place. - Great spot to stay in the hunter. Everyone you meet in Broke are super friendly I'd definatley recommend staying here and checking out the local wineries. Was easy to organise a bus to our gig at Hope estate..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful setting, friendly, helpful owner. Very relaxing. Can't recommend it high enough!
