- Cathy (4/5): - Sadly Neglected!! We were so disappointed when we opened the door to the cabin! The smell was terrible and the appliances appeared to be on their last legs. We moved to a different cabin but it wasn't much better! The place is overrun with cats!! They fought and pawed at our windows and hung out on the porch. Quite creepy! The tea towel had a big hole in it, the toilet plunger was covered in dirty dried bits of toilet paper, the dishes needed washing before using and the coffee machine had coffee grounds spilled all through it. The '3 pc bath is divided up between two closets with the tiny shower in the bedroom and the toilet in the kitchen. The chairs were so stained we had to cover them before sitting down and the couch was nothing I wanted to sit on! There was garbage left in the fire pits outside, and the owners just seemed to sit around and watch TV all day. Sad, really sad!

The lake is beautifully nestled in a small valley that is not overly polluted with noise from the highway near-by. I was sad that the owners were not able to open their restaurant this year due to staffing issues. But will definitely be back and am looking forward to that Italian meal.

- Tsui-Wen (8/5): Sadly noisy for such a lovely location - Adequate but very noisy highway nearby affecting good sleep. The linen on the Queen bed seemed clean but the spare sheets for the sofa bed were not with debris on the sheets and the blanket. Fortunately we brought our own tea, coffee, shampoo and food as I never received a reply about restaurants to dine at prior to our arrival so decided to be safe and bury our own dinner

- Kent (10/5): - Clean, quiet, comfortable! Super friendly people gorgeous lake! Fish were jumping but not biting (too hot!) Bring a jug of water for drinking water. Larger people might find the cabins cramped, i found it cozy! I'll be back when the fish are biting!
- Sabrina (8/5): - What a little gem nestled in the mountains! It's very rustic, bring your own bath soaps, shampoos, food, coffee or tea but it's comfortable and clean. If you forget, there is a general store about 5min away stocked with all the goodies. This is a great spot to bring a young family who will be outside all day in the lake swimming of fishing.

- Kimberly (10/5): - We will definitely be back here! The owners were very accommodating and lovely. The cabins were clean and had utensils and dishes we needed. The only thing I would recommend upgrading would be the cabin beds as the mattresses were fairly hard to sleep on. Otherwise a beautiful place with lots of wildlife and things to do. Would definitely recommend this place to other families!

- Rose (4/5): - I phoned the resort to check on the condition of the driveway since we were on motorcycles. The man I spoke to on the phone said that the driveway was gravel but not loose gravel. Upon checking in we found the driveway around the office and the unit we were staying in was all loose gravel (we have a larger cruiser motorcycle and are double ups). When we mentioned the dissatisfaction with the loose gravel the girl who checked us in said " this is the Cariboo ... you should have stayed in the City if you didn't want gravel." As someone who lived many years in the Cariboo I found that comment insulting.
- Robert (4/5): Not worth the money!!!! - This property is tired, desperately needs upgrading , has no services, and the staff really didn’t seem to care about their customers. On a positive note, the location is gorgeous with breathtaking views. In summary, definitely not worth what they’re charging!

The fridge needed consigning to the scrap heap. Very concerning was the need to boil water and some instructions on possibly adding bleach. We stayed in a one bedroom cabin which was clean but rather cramped. The wifi is only available at the lodge. Altogether a huge disappointment. Best thing was the view from the cabin.

As per their guideline, you need to boil the water Before use which seems annoying because you have to wait for water to cool down if you want to drink. Bed was making noise. Food is over expensive. Coffee is great but expensive in comparison to quantity they provide.

The bed was smaller than we were told in our reservation though and the shower is extremely small but does the job! We had some problems with getting the tv to work with the movies but otherwise was a cute little spot.

The lakeside view and fishing experience is unforgettable experience for us. We was plan to drive to other area to watch waterfall, but this place is too good. So we decide to stay all day long to enjoy the weather, fishing and BBQ.

The room was clean and owners friendly, although it did take some time to rouse them as we arrived after office hours. We were only staying one night and it was nice to have a picnic and fire by the lake. Anyone planning to stay as a destination vacation will likely be disappointed - our friends' room didn't even have full kitchen amenities or a view.

Having grown up with cottages I was pleased. Other review I've read, folks had urban expectations. this is not urban. Enjoy it for what it is!

- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing... - Wont be returning, should have gone with my instincts when reading other reviews. As others had noted, very run down need repairs eg: duct tape holding toilet seat cover, fridge leaking all over and not working. Old sheets n bedding that even donations would reject. Staff are friendly and warm however one person running everything possibly family owned idk? Hugest shocked paying $25 for a vegan salad (no meat, cheese or dairy) I would not recommend this place to a friend.
- M.C (4/5): Did not stay long - We had a family emergency and had to leave about 15 minutes after check in. Honestly though, we probably wouldn't have stayed the night anyway. The staff was very welcoming and very friendly. The cabin was not what we were expecting. In the middle of summer, the windows were glued shut. There was no fan and no screen door on the door. Which means my family and I would have been incredibly uncomfortable at night with no air flow. There were 4 of us upon check in, and we were given 3 towels. There was no soap in the bathroom either. We were asked to make a reservation for dinner, which was fine by us- we understood that they probably need to know how many people would be going to dinner. My husband brought us the menu, and we were told it was authentic home cooked Italian food. I'm sure it would have been amazing. The only thing was, they were charging $50 a plate for their 4 course meal. That means, for a family of 4, we would have had to pay $200 for a dinner. I would expect to pay that at a fancy 5 star resort, not a middle-of-nowhere place. Maybe we didn't read the menu properly, we could have been mistaken. Maybe it was $50 a family...? I certainly hope we were wrong. Asking a young family to pay $200 for a meal is ridiculous. Even if the food is hand made and authentic. Again, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. They were incredibly understanding when we had to leave suddenly. I would say to them though, to maybe update & clean their facilities more often.
