Guest Reviews
- richard (8/5): Most enjoyable - Friendly staff, comfortable room, great Norfolk breakfast.
- David (10/5): -
- Gillian (8/5): - Lovely breakfast. Helpful at reception.
Very good location.
- TheTravellingMann (10/5): A perfect stay, highly recommend! - We had a such a fabulous stay here. Our room was spacious, spotless and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were delicious. The lounge/bar was comfy and welcoming, and we also enjoyed the complimentary sherry and cake. The property has lots of parking and very well located, just a short stroll from the beach and the town. A real gem of a find and we will definitely be back!
- davidpJ2368US (10/5): Without a fault! - Without a doubt, I regard this hotel to be first class. I have been twice now , both times in September this year and last. I cannot find a fault, and find everything to my liking. Quiet and no dogs. Breakfast is superb and the rooms and service also. The standard is high and I like it!
- Graham (8/5): Friendly hotel in a good location - Friendly and accommodating staff. Very comfortable communal areas. The breakfast was excellent Would have liked a slightly larger room and we both view showers over bath with apprehension due to our age.
- Maps11956906678 (10/5): Great independent hotel - Superb hotel in a quiet conservation area. Very easy to find and access with ample off street parking. Rooms and facilities are excellent and the best breakfast ever with good quality local ingredients and homemade jam, marmalade and Musil that can see you through the day. 15 mins walk from the beach, shops, cinema and pier. Lovely garden to sit out in. Have booked for next year.
- 615Sunny (10/5): Fab find for staying in Cromer. - We were part of a coach party on a four night break, and we’re impressed how they dealt with a sudden influx of guests and luggage.
The en-suite bedroom was immaculately clean and presentable, with a lovely bright bathroom and excellent shower. Perhaps a bit more shelving for two lots of soap bags would be good, but that’s a minor detail.
The serving staff in the dining room couldn’t do enough for us and were highly organised - amazing fresh breakfasts (and wonderful fresh kippers!) conjured up by Dan the chef and his small team.. as part of the package we also had evening meals, which varied every night and was of faultless quality. The owner/managers are very well organised, and are available to answer any questions or help with info.
The location of the hotel was also a bonus. Lovely area, quiet, lots of parking and within a quick walk of the coastal path and the pier.
Would definitely return.
- O2121UKterryt (10/5): Great stay - Great location, welcoming host and good parking.
Stay made easy by check in/out seamlessly and well informed about local area.
- Fearless55172571238 (10/5): Fantastic! - We stayed for 1 night only but we’ll definitely be returning. Such a lovely hotel, with warm friendly staff. Our room was beautiful and immaculate. Comfy bed and great en suite with a fantastic shower. Breakfast was very good too
- alancG5149OE (10/5): ALAN C. FIRST CLASS. - Have just returned after spending three lovely days at this excellent hotel. We have stayed here many times over the last few years and it never fails to come up to expectations. The hotel is situated in a quiet, tree lined avenue close to the centre of Cromer with ample free parking. The rooms are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean,as a less than mobile couple we asked for and were allocated a room with a walk in shower. Martin,Shaun and the breakfast team are both friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. There is a varied breakfast menu with multiple choices, all made with local ingredients. Free sherry and cake is available in the lounge in the afternoons together with an honesty bar. Altogether another lovely experience we look forward to our next visit and have no hesitation in recommending this gem of an hotel.
- davidwV2212BM (10/5): Week's break in Cromer - Very handy location close to beach, shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room clean and comfortable. Plenty of choice at breakfast to suit all tastes. Would definitely recommend this hotel
- Guest (8/5): My 2nd time of staying at Virginia and am very happy with the facilities offered - Conveniently located with parking facilities. Nothing
- Lesley (10/5): Quiet, comfortable and relaxing. - Staff were all polite, breakfast was amazing with lots to choose from the menu, every where was clean and tidy, as a bonus in the afternoons sherry and cake was offered free. The lightening in the hall way and bedroom were good. N/A
- Q7426RKjohnt (10/5): Delivered what we required. - Very well maintained hotel, friendly staff, excellent breakfast and good car parking. Have used this hotel before on several occasions.
- Stoddard (10/5): Friendly and close to Cromer town centre. - Very friendly hotel and a great location.
- D639HFrobind (8/5): Cromer’s best - Been here 5 or 6 times recently and always have been well satisfied with the experience. Excellent room, good parking facility and easy walk to town centre, pier and sea. B&B only, sadly no longer do dinner, but excellent breakfast .
- thomaswF6759VI (10/5): Faultless - Brilliant time. Lovely quiet hotel. Ideal location. Easy walk to town centre, cliff top, beach, pier and eateries.
Staff friendly, caring and attentive. We have stayed at the Virginia Court many times and will continue to do so whenever possible.
Breakfast perfect to start the day.
Parking excellent.
- RichardKearney (10/5): Cromer's little hotel gem - Quality hotel/B&B in a quiet residential street 5 mins from the town centre. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and a littke bit of luxury in the common areas. Lovely private garden and free parking were a big bonus. Breakfast every morning was of high quality and served woth humour and efficiency. 'Gibsons' restaurant just around the corner was superb for an evening meal. All in all a superb place to stay in Cromer.
- H8355DMronaldw (10/5): Always as good as we expect. - We have been coming to this hotel for at least 10 years for 3 or 4 day breaks and our experience has always been the same. We love the location, the rooms, the breakfasts and of course the staff.
- sandra (7/5): - It was a good location ...clean well decorated.. Small rooms...
- Star196125 (10/5): Short weekend break - The hotel is well placed within walking distance of Cromer town and also the pier.
The hotel itself has good parking.
The accommodation we booked room 9 was on the first floor it was a junior suite room which was clean and tidy upon arrival.
The bathroom was large with a double shower and a large roll top bath.
We booked for bed and breakfast for 3 nights and have to say very good value for money.
The breakfast room was lovely the breakfast menu was great from cereals to cooked breakfast all served to us at the table. The food itself was excellent and we would recommend it.
Overall we were very happy with our short break and would consider going back in the future.
- Guest (10/5): Great accommodation in Cromer - must be one of the best - Excellent location for easy access to the town centre and seafront. Large car park. Good breakfast with plenty of choice, efficiently served and well presented.
Comfortable bedroom with bath in the ensuite as requested.
A nice touch is to receive cake and a complementary sherry in the afternoon which can be enjoyed in the sheltered , sunny garden.
Would definitely recommend. I can't think of anything not to like
- Jan (9/5): - Superb breakfast
- Ian (10/5): A most enjoyable couple of nights stay - Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff.
- kimrK5945AJ (10/5): Nowhere better in Cromer - I can’t rate this hotel highly enough. The room had everything you need, power shower was great, toiletries/towels/tea & coffee included. The best thing ever are the breakfasts, (book direct and they’re included) I can honestly say the menu is extensive and I couldn’t fault any of it, it was well presented and beautifully cooked. The staff are very friendly and couldn’t do enough. Afternoon sherry and cake! The hotel was very quiet even though full and with the size of the car park it was always easy to park.
- Richard (8/5): A convenient and comfortable stay for Cromer and surrounding attractions. - I found the hotel easily and there is plenty of parking space. My single room was comfortable and I enjoyed a warm bath before walking to a recommended restaurant for dinner five minutes away. I slept well both nights then enjoyed excellent freshly cooked breakfasts. All the staff were friendly and helpful and I plan to return here when I next want to vist the Cromer area. I am a fussy wine drinker and would have preferred a wider choice in their "honesty" bar. The TV worked well but in a single room, lying in bed was the only comfortable place to watch it!
- Guest (10/5): -
- alison (10/5): Lovdely! - The bed was exceptionally comfy, and the room was quiet and very clean. Excellent power shower too. The sunny garden was lovely. Some of the decor wasn't ot my taste, but that's just a personal thing. I had a very gothy Addams Family style chandelier in my room, that didn;t fit the room, but as I say, taste is a very personal thing!
- Muthoni K (9/5): Amazing place to stay. I truly felt at home - The location was perfect. Literally 5 minutes walk to the beach (use the park route). It is also just a few minutes walk to the city centre yet only 15minutes from the station. The staff were very professional and friendly. The facility is exceptionally clean. It would have been great to have breakfast included as part of the cost. It was charged seperately
- Elgar (8/5): Clean and friendly hotel in a central Location. - Lovely staff, nice breakfast, very clean and comfy beds Very hard pillows - will be bringing our own next time! The hotel was very expensive when we stayed, but outside of holiday periods, it is well priced.
- William (10/5): Brilliant and we will be back. - Very close to the town centre. Parking excellent. Rooms as advertised clean tidy.
Tv and wifi perfect. Staff we met were friendly and booking in was straight forward. Nothing at all.
- helenwG3993XG (10/5): Weekend break in Cromer - Our second stay at the Virginia Court hotel. It’s a lovely hotel providing bed and breakfast (we booked direct so got breakfast included).
The rooms are spacious and clean, bed is very comfortable.
Breakfast is lovely, a choice of drinks, cereals, yogurts and then also a variety of cooked breakfasts to choose from. The portions are not small either!
The hotel is located away from the main part of Cromer, but it is a 5 minute walk to the sea front, so ideally situated.
Thank you to Shaun, Martin and the team for another lovely stay. We’ll see you next year.
- Eva (10/5): -
- Trevor (10/5): Long weekend in Cromer .. this was an excellent place to stay … clean and tidy would definitely reconmend. - Clean& tidy, great location. Nothing - all great.
- Scott (10/5): Just what we needed during the carnival. - Was immaculate throughout and incredibly friendly. Will definitely stay again. Couldn’t fault it in any way
- Susan (10/5): Just right - Everything location, staff, breakfast, the welcome sherry and cake. The atmosphere of the town and friendliness of the people in it. Nothing
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok - Ok, fell below what I thought it should be.
Room was very small.
Breakfast was bland.
- yasmincS2400AV (10/5): Wonderful experience. - First time visitor to Cromer, we loved it. The hotel owners and staff were welcoming, we were made to feel at home, nothing was too much trouble. Five minutes from the seafront and close to the town center.
They have created a spotlessly clean and relaxing space, the garden large and well tended. We stayed a junior suite, that very comfortable clean, spacious, excellent bathroom, and facilities. Breakfast delicious. Already planning my next trip. Highly recommended.
- Alexander (9/5): Comfortable, quiet, slightly out of the way hotel in a nice seaside town. - Single Room: Cozy, but well laid out, unbelievably clean, quiet, and newly refurbished. Nice shower water pressure, and again, spotlessly clean. Breakfast: did not have breakfast in the hotel, although they serve a full menu. Excellent cafes and restaurants from 2min-10min walk away, though, so that is very convenient. Wifi: A bit slow in the room, but worked just fine, and quite fast in the lobby. Location: Fantastic. Set back ~5min from the beach in a residential neighborhood, a bit removed from the bustle of the beach/resort town but still very central. Quiet, parking available. Staff: All very friendly and welcoming, gave good suggestions for dinner and walks/hikes in the area. Good to know: The lobby is staffed limited hours in the morning and in the afternoon/evening and they charge extra for housekeeping unless you are staying there 3+ days, but I did not mind this at all. Kept the hotel more quiet during my stay. Honor-style bar, technically closes at 10pm, enjoyed a gin and tonic in the evening. Free sherry and cake in the afternoon. Wifi was a bit slow in the room, but still fast enough to get work done. Other than that, no complaints.
- EAPhillpott (10/5): Very pleasant place to stay, and near the town centre and seafront. - My room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent and the waiting staff very friendly and welcoming. There is a large car park, where someone visiting me for the day was allowed to park. The hotel is in a quiet part of Cromer, but near the centre, and only a minute’s walk from the seafront.
- Paradise54429566795 (10/5): Great stay - Had a great stay at the Virginia Court Hotel. Location is ideal, just short walk away from the town centre and the seafront. The hotel also offers the convenience of free parking which is great. Room was clean and comfortable, staff were very friendly and breakfast excellent.
- Jackie (10/5): Comfortable, relaxing break in a lovely location. - Everything clean and modern. Comfortable beds, great power shower, delicious breakfast and helpful, friendly staff. Large free car park and garden. Excellent location only 5 minutes walk to seafront. Nothing.
- michelledunn66 (10/5): Great trip - Very friendly. Great fresh breakfast. Few minutes walk down to pier and town. The room was clean and well presented. Ample free parking
- Anthony (8/5): It was what we needed in the circumstances - Kippers for breakfast were excellent as was the breakfast overall.
Situation was just where I needed to be Discovering that the room was not serviced during our stay, only every 4 days
- Sue (8/5): -
- kandbaway (10/5): Great to be back in Cromer! - We have stayed at Virginia Court before and can highly recommend it. The breakfast is always beautifully prepared. It is nice to have personal service rather than a breakfast bar plenty of parking space and easy walking to the town which is literally two minutes away.
- Lisa (10/5): - Lovely stay
- Sally (9/5): -
- Jonathan (9/5): Lovely stay in perfect location - Very good accommodations with a fantastic shower and complementary sherry every afternoon!
- Guest (10/5): -
- Charlotte (9/5): A lovely stay and will return - Lovely common area and great sized room with a lovely en-suite
- Carol (9/5): -
- Rob (9/5): Great location, great value for money, perfect for what I needed. - Very efficient and secure method of entry to the hotel, checking in process was great with a warm welcome. Room was exactly as described, immaculate and spotlessly clean. As my family were staying elsewhere (I don't camp!) the hotel was merely a place to sleep so I can't comment on anything else, but Shaun and Martin were very welcoming and the breakfast smelt delicious and whilst I didn't use it the bar looked amazing. Plenty of car parking space and the location was just far enough away from the centre of Cromer to be a haven of peace and quiet. There was nothing I didn't like.
- elizabeth (8/5): -
- Agnieszka (10/5): -
- Joanna (9/5): -
- Geoffrey (8/5): Well located comfortable accommodation. - We were room only at the hotel so didn’t have breakfast there. There was a lounge but we didn’t use that either. The room was comfortable and pleasant. There was a minor issue with our TV but this didn’t affect our stay.
- Andrew (9/5): Very pleasant stay - Friendly staff, great power shower, plenty of parking, good honesty bar, nice room. Door entry is by code which seemed a bit inconsistent in operation.
- Jane (9/5): - Lovely location. Staff were friendly and breakfasts were excellent.
- Darren (10/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): Short stay at Cromer - The honestly bar and free sherry was a nice touch
Great bath.
Lovely and friendly staff Did not make room up,
Took ages to fill bath up
- Mariana (10/5): -
- Duncan (9/5): All as expected - All good, no complaints Nothing
- Sarah (9/5): Lovely little hotel - Location so good, close to the centre of Cromer, clean, fresh, staff very friendly and helpful, excellent breakfast. Fans in the room a very nice touch on such a warm weekend. For a single room it was such a good size too. Just a very nice place to stay. Mattress was very firm but I suppose that is personal preference
- Lee (10/5): -
- Sam (10/5): -
- SUSAN (10/5): Lovely hotel. Will definitely stay again. - Lovely hotel. Tasteful and stylish decor. Bedroom comfortable. Walking distance from town and beach. Delicious breakfast and very nice touch complimentary sherry and cake in the afternoons for guests.

- FarAway29895065961 (10/5): Nothing to fault - Top marks all round. Lovely clean room brilliant hosts and staff, breakfast one of the best ever. The hotel is so well situated and with the added bonus of plenty of parking, a godsend in Cromer, would thoroughly recommend and will definitely be returning.

- cathyhD1293QZ (10/5): Relaxing home to home break - Easy parking. Beds really comfortable and the room spacious.
Plenty of choice for breakfast. Martin, Shaun and the rest of the staff are
friendly and helpful. Have stayed here quite a few times and will be back!
- 187sianb (10/5): Little gem 💎 in Cromer - Enjoyed staying at Virginia Court Hotel for a few days, lovely quite road, easy walking distance to all the restaurants, shops, beach and has parking which is a real bonus.
Shaun and Martin are great hosts very welcoming and nothing is an issue.
Accommodation clean, inviting and well presented.
Breakfast was fabulous each day plenty of choice and very friendly service from all the staff.
We really enjoyed our break and would not hesitate to visit again.
- mariapU9855RZ (10/5): Welcoming, comfortable, great location, free parking. - Staff are attentive and friendly. Great breakfast that caters to guest preferences, and includes chef's prepared muesli and savoury beans. Central location, within reasonable walking distance of train station. Quiet location in Victorian style road. Large garden and lounge available for guests and free sherry + cake is available from 3pm-5pm. Good security arrangements are in place.
- stephenhP4947LA (10/5): Brilliant car park! - Brilliant car park, just so good to be able to turn up and just park! Comfortable bed, good breakfast and free cake and sherry on arrival which was most welcome after a long drive! Shaun gave us a map and some information and was most helpful both before and throughout our stay. Everything just a short walk away. Would recommend to anyone considering Cromer.
- bignat2018 (10/5): Great little find. - My fiancée and myself really enjoyed our two nights stay and found the hotel to be very tastefully decorated - we would definitely recommend Room 25.
The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast was really tasty and the staff were friendly and efficient.
The complimentary afternoon sherry and cake was a lovely touch and enjoyed by both of us.
The parking was a bonus for Cromer.
- isabellebennett61 (10/5): Great Choice - Great location for Cromer town centre, beach and pier. Only 10 minutes walk to town centre. Hotel offers complimentary sherry and cake each afternoon. They have a help yourself bar until 10pm, with plenty of drinks to choose from, you write your name, room number, quantity and what you had to drink down and pop your details in the basket on the bar. The gardens are a great way to chill, on arrival after a long drive. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty to choose from and of good quality. The power shower was amazing, and bed was very comfortable, there was plenty of tea, coffee, milk, sugars and hot choc sachets in your room. Shaun and his team, did a marvelous job at welcoming you and making sure your stay was comfortable and relaxing.
- jennyrR5623CA (10/5): Very good indeed - We both enjoyed Virginia Court Hotel in Cromer very much. The staff were brilliant. Breakfast was yummy. Lovely choice too. Lovely gardens to sit in, which was a blessing as it was a very hot weekend. Afternoon free cake and sherry is something unusual and lovely. Cake was yummy. Hubby had the sherry. Room was brilliant. Very clean indeed . Lovely location for town and beach. We are hoping to go back as soon as possible.

- louiser136 (10/5): Perfect! - We have stayed here a few times now and it never disappoints! A warm welcome awaits with lovely comfortable rooms which are furnished to a very high standard. Breakfast is outstanding - the service and quality is exceptional. The location of the hotel is perfect, literally 5 mins walk from the seafront and the town centre - with free parking available onsite throughout your stay you can easily access the array of eateries and lovely walks from the doorstep. We wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Cromer.
- tina234monkey (10/5): Amazing Hotel - What an amazing stay, great service, comfortable beds, tasty breakfast and an all round awesome decorated hotel. Would definitely come again.

- franEB22 (10/5): Very Enjoyable Stay! - We found the Virginia Court Hotel in a peaceful tree lined avenue of elegant Edwardian villas. It has been beautifully restored and our junior suite was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The hotel has it's own roomy car park. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and served at your table. We stayed for 5 nights so the sherry and cake in the afternoon was a wonderful pick me up before getting ready to go out for dinner at one of the restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The restaurants we used were all from those recommended in the hotel's Guest Information guide and we were delighted with them all.
We had a very enjoyable time at the Virginia Court Hotel and hope to return again soon.
- Climber64439538388 (10/5): Best Hotel in Cromer 👌 - I have stayed at most hotels in Cromer, Virginia Court absolutely wins hands down in my opinion. Shaun, Martin and the whole crew are fabulous, nothing is too much bother. The rooms are extremely comfortable, clean and welcoming. The addition of a fan is a god send in the heat 👌 The beds are super comfy with beautiful linen. The shower and bathroom facilities are excellent and wonderfully clean. The availability of top ups for tea/coffee etc is superb, especially when you run out during the night! Breakfast is amazing, plenty of choice, accommodating for all dietary requirements . The Norfolk Eggs Benedict never ever disappoints, Dan is the best chef in Cromer 🌟 On the whole I can’t find any negatives which is the sign of a brilliant service 👏👏👏 Oh, one last point, free parking is definitely a winner, especially in a holiday location. Thanks as always to the whole team, like a bad penny, I’ll be back 😎
- susanB609 (10/5): Peaceful haven - Just returned home after a three night break at a true gem of a hotel. I really can’t say how much we have all enjoyed the hospitality, the comfortable spotless room , the freshly cooked breakfast . Every aspect was perfect for us. First class professionalism all round. It’s within easy reach of the town and sea front gardens. Thank you for a lovely time!

- John (6/5): - The staff were very helpful and pleasant at all times.
The downside was on the housekeeping, if a clean cup was required in your room or if you required a non-slip mat for the bath you had to ask for it.

- Richard (10/5): Comfortable, relaxing in excellent accommodation - Warm welcome. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bedroom and bathroom were clean and nicely decorated. Public lounge again was clean and welcoming. "Honesty" bar was well stocked and prices average. You just helped yourself and recorded what you had on a pre-printed form and paid when you checked out.
Breakfast was superbly cooked, both the full English and kippers. Starting with yogurt and berries, ending with toast and marmalade.
Being a 5 minute walk from town meant they did not get a passing trade so no lunch dinner service which was quite understandable. There were many pubs and restaurants in town to eat so no inconvenience at all. In fact being just slightly away from town meant it was quiet as I imagine in town hotels would be noisy into the night. No criticism at all.
