Guest Reviews
- Jennifer (2/5): - Very disappointing for the price. Lots of cobwebs. Tub took ages to fill. Room smelled of mildew. Fridge did not work. Otherwise great town and neighborhood.
- Krista (6/5): - Cute little place right in town. Had to drive to a restaurant to pick up the key- surely a keypad or something else would be easy to set up? Welcome Drink is advertised, but was disappointed it was “no longer offered”.
- Chubby (6/5): - Cute property, their office door has visa stickers and everything but when we got these they said only cash. Seems like something you let the guest know especially when people don’t carry cash like that anymore and it was like 1am. Small tv far from bed, cute room though, tub takes way too long to fill, adequate bathroom. There’s a few cute libraries right outside the house.
- David M (8/5): Overall Very nice - The Inn was very cute and comfortable. It was amazing having a whole "hotel" to our selves. Very quiet and peaceful.
- Silas (2/5): - Check in and check out was horrible. Checkout said 12 they bugged us twice by 11:30am to get out.
- robert (8/5): - It's very small but charming! The bed takes up most of the main room, but the jaucuzzi tub in the corner is a bonus! It's conveniently located near the water front, shops, restaurants, and a nice park. The only issue was having to drive 3.2km to a restaurant, to get the key. The first two employees at the restaurant didn't know what I wanted and seemed to speak very little English. I would strongly recommend an electronic coded lock to avoid this runaround!
- Coreen (10/5): - This uniquely beautiful property was more than we could have imagined! Quiet, cozy, and within walking distance to everything
- Pamela (10/5): - A beautiful property, a bit like staying in a Hobbit House. Loved the jet soaker tub. Lovely experience x
- Jailene (10/5): Nostalgia ❤️ - Beautiful location, and such a fun little place to stay! The owners were very friendly and hospitable. Loved the soaker tub with jets. Will definitely stay again! 😊
- JACALINE (6/5): - This is a unique property in a great location. We have stayed here 2x before.
But needs more cleaning and fresh paint and general maintenance on a regular basis. Which is not happening.
Love the wee balcony with flowers.
Would stay again but would love to see improvements.
- Rosemary (6/5): - Chamainus is a lovely clean Oceanside little town. Hotel is dated, not clean, dark and dingy, needs painting and complete makeover to bring it up to current standards, stuck in the 1980’s. Price is far too high for what is offered. Location good, walk into quaint town shops, restaurants, golf, cycling routes nearby.
- Judy (8/5): - Such a unique place to stay. The room was decorated nicely warm & very welcoming.
- Kok Liang Jason (10/5): - We had a great weekend at this quaint inn, designed to evoke a sense of nostalgia while still adequately equipped with facilities, all at a reasonable price that offers superb value for money.
The service was well calibrated from pre-check in with the property reaching out to inform about key collection to the time of check out with swift positive response to our request for late check out.
The jet tub in the room adds a touch of romance to couple choosing to spend private quiet time, while the balcony lends a tranquil setting away from the main street, with occasional greetings from the friendly folks from the neighbourhood.
- Stephen (10/5): - Cute spot
- Robin (6/5): - This is a quaint and charming property, also inconvenient and annoying. Maybe built by the owner as a special project. It is one room with bed and alcoves for jetted tub (didn't work) and bathroom (functional, but small, no shelves or drawers). Lovely location but some maintenance really needed. There were no instructions for check in/out and the owner/manager was hard to locate. If you don't mind all this and looking for something unusual in a great spot, go for it!
- Jackie (10/5): - Unique and cozy
- William (10/5): - Very nice place to stay, close to the historic part of town (walking distance). Clean, well-kept property with friendly management,
- Patricia (2/5): - There was no one present for check in nor a number to ring or call. After looking around without success and finding the attached hotel fully closed we found a key for the property in a flower pot by the door. We admitted ourselves! We went to bed at 9 pm. At half past nine a couple came to the door wanting to know how we got into the property. They said we should have gone to the upstairs office if the adjoining hotel. We had been there to no avail. Everything was sorted this morning . Crazy for there to be no instructions on the door of the cottage!!
- Shelley (10/5): - Suck a cute and whimsical room! If you’re looking for all the modern amenities, this isn’t the place for you.
If you’re looking for something unique and quirky, you’ll love it.
We’ll definitely be back!
- Wes (6/5): - Was a beautiful place. The cleanliness was not what I expected for a luxury hotel. We had to clean hair out of the bathtub and found crumpled up tissue by the coffee machine. Other than that the place was beautiful.
- Christine (10/5): - It was a charming little place, like staying in a hobbit house.
- Craig (10/5): - A very quirky - in a very good kind of way - 1 suite "hotel" (more like a guest house) within easy walking distance of the Chemainus Theatre and Chemainus town centre (< 10 min). Very easy to pick up the key and pay for the room at the Haida-Way restaurant on the highway - leave the key in the room when you depart. On street parking. Quiet & safe. No WiFi service, but wasn't expecting any. Would definitely stay here again.
- Gordon (8/5): - A very unique and cute property. Was comfortable and had a cute little deck with grape vines and plants around it to make it very private. Walkable to shops and restaurants.
- JACALINE (6/5): - It’s a perfect location! Centre of town!
- Charles (10/5): - It was a quaint little room my wife loved it
- JACALINE (8/5): - It was a great location and great check in check out hours. N staff to speak of. Great little grape vine lined balcony for hanging and breakfast.
- Robert (10/5): - The one room "World's Smallest Luxury Hotel" is a unique experience ...like a tiny Hobbit House....somewhat outdated,..loved the jetted tub in the tower, the tiny deck, wine and liqueur glasses, and even a fireplace.
- Andrea (10/5): - This little suite is adorable and a perfect spot for a little getaway!
The shower pressure was lacking but honestly not a huge issue.
We will definitely be back!
- Emily (4/5): - Check in lady was intoxicated, check out lady was lovely. Cracks in wall. Spider webs. Stains on wall. Bed was uncomfortable. Fun theme though.
- David G (10/5): - This is the the cutest little property, very quaint and idyllic. Cozy and romantic and right in the heart of town.
- Patricia (10/5): - clean and quiet. unique experience.
- Ron (4/5): - It is was quaint little place. Needs some TLC..
had Cobwebs! Needs to be updated!
No Wifi …
- Brenda (6/5): - Charming suite, very quiet and clean. It does have a large bathtub, but due to water restrictions in this quaint town we did not use it. We would stay here again.
- Quinn (10/5): - What a beautiful little place! Perfect for a couple get away and in the cutest little town! We had such a lovely time and the owners/managers are very responsive and attentive!
- Keith (10/5): - We were married in’91 and this screams’90s and we loved it. Close to town.
- Trevor (8/5): - The lady that greeted us was not very professional
- Michel (4/5): - The place is very nice but it was disappointing that the online site mentions a welcoming drink as an amenity, but the owner said there was not one.
The TV did not function properly.
- Tim (10/5): - We thought the place was really fun. Great location too, a block or two away from the Ferry and right on the mural walk.
- Crystal (10/5): - I loved this adorable little place!!! It is such a unique experience. The whole place was sparkling clean, the bed was super comfy and the hot tub had great powerful jets and worked perfectly. There’s a cute little side patio with beautiful flowers. I would definitely recommend this place :)
- Catherine (10/5): Super Cute Get-Away - Our suite at The Little Inn on Willow is a stand-alone unit in a little castle looking house. Super cute, just about everything you need is there. Private entrance, private patio, jacuzzi bathtub, a shower, small fridge and parking. As others have mentioned no on-site wifi, but that’s okay! If you’re looking for state of the art and brand new, this place may not be for you. Amazing location, brewery, cafe, restaurants and shopping, beaches and the ocean, all just moments away. May have to make a yearly standing reservation!
- Sara (6/5): - I stayed for a night and the property had it's pluses and minuses. Check in was a little weird as they had me pick up the key from a restaurant down the highway. The lady was very nice though, and quickly got me situated. The cottage itself is very nice from the outside. There is a lovely garden off the side with a seating area for two, that is fenced in and covered in gorgeous vines. Inside is very dated. There's newspaper cuttings on the wall detailing how it was a luxury hotel back in the early 90s, and it looks like not much has changed since. The bed was soft, although you can tell it's an old spring mattress. Even though I found two hairs on the fitted sheet, I surprisingly had a decent sleep which is actually pretty rare for me so thank you Little Inn for that. The bathtub is absolutely massive. I'm tall and my toes could barely touch the other side of the tub. However there was a powdery film on the floor of the tub which left me apprehensive to use the jets, and a giant black widow spider was hanging out in the windowsill. In the little space for magazines I found a used drug scale that was also covered in a powdery residue, but I suspect it differs from the powder in the bathtub. I tossed it in the garbage for the safety of future guests. Overall I'm not sure if I would stay again. I love the location, the peace and quiet, and how you're able to rent an entire cottage. I think if it were updated and deep cleaned I'd happily stay over and over.
- Eric (10/5): - One description mentioned WiFi on site but another mentioned that area stores had WiFi, which is... not WiFi "on site." Not the end of the world, but if you're expecting to get any work done, you may have to find a coffee shop nearby. The tub is fabulous and the location couldn't be better.
- Richard (10/5): - The quiet and the cosyness of the room.
The bath was great!
- Carol (10/5): - This is the cutest place! The jet tub was the greatest!
- Eva (10/5): - If you're looking for modern hotel with big flat screen, move on. For others its a great unique place. Very quiet with free parking spot just in front. Jacuzzi was great after long drive and walks. We really enjoyed it and will definitely stay again.
- Christina (6/5): - Little cute private suite. Be prepared to step back in time with dated decor, manual credit card charge, and low water pressure. But, there's charm you can see was put into it. We never got the wifi password and there were no drinks in the fridge, but we didn't want to bother asking for them since we checked in later. This suite needs a refresh as there are cobwebs and magazines 14 years old! The tub was nice though, and location very convenient for walking to pubs, cafés etc.
- Soren (8/5): - It was private, a nice stay. No bottle of champaigne though
- Ervin (2/5): - Very old
- Laura (8/5): - This Inn is located in a quiet town, although we enjoyed going out to explore the brewery and antique shops nearby. The interior of the Inn was nicer than we expected with no photos included, and fairly priced.
- Sharlinr (6/5): - In a pinch it was ok, but I wouldn’t call it a honeymoon suite. Other than the big tub there was nothing romantic about this room.
The tv was so small and way in a high corner was impossible to see. The Decor is hideous and so busy and dated you couldn’t relax.
For 150$ I was expecting better. I was there as I couldn’t get home 20 mins away because of flooding on the route. Was nice to know I had a room but as soon as the highway opened I bolted. Had it been a nicer place I would have stayed. I think they could spend a little money and do better for their guests. Like nicer towels etc.
- Derek (4/5): - What a huge disappointment!. Firstly to have to drive 3 km to get your un-numbered room key and then arrive at the location and have no idea where you're supposed to go - what door? The place has no wifi - this is the 21st century! The jetted tub is barely big enough for one - no handles to aid getting in or out, no non skid on the tub floor - damn dangerous! The pump for the jets sounds like a rock grinderThe bathroom mirror was dirty, two to the desk lamps didn't work. you need binoculars to see the tiny tv set up in the corner. Colour me very unhappy - I'll bad mouth this place every chance I get!
- Jennifer (10/5): - What a delightful little fairy tale accommodations! Large 2 person jacuzzi in an open room studio style setting with a separate free standing shower in the bathroom. A nice little fireplace kept the place cozy and warm as well as cable tv with plenty of channels. Easy access and able to park my car right outside my door! Great value! Wish I could have stayed longer and extended my reservation again( had already extended for an additional two days!) but another guest had it booked... definitely recommend!!!
- Judi (4/5): - Didn't like to have to pick up key at Haida Way Restaurant (about 5 kms from the inn). When opened door to inn, room was not cleaned. Had to call restsurant, since no office open at hotel. When room got cleaned, it was comfotable to stay, but no WiFi, even though person who gave me the key, said there was.
- ART (8/5): - Truly unique with old charm and character. The room was not large but pleasantly cozy none the less. The bath alcove is part of the room itself and is fully open and not separated by a door. Think honeymoon romance. The small bathroom has a small cube shower, toilet and a space saver sink and vanity. It should be noted that we could not get the wifi to work even though the proprietor left notes on how to do it. Supposedly there was a champagne bottle in the room for our pleasure, as both the website description and the manage said...there was none. The owner is off-site and runs a restaurant in another part of town, where you have to go first to receive the room key. We would stay here again.
- Yvonne (8/5): - Lovely tiny cottage, quaint and pretty outside and in,self contained with front door to street and side door to small patio with vines and flowers. Jetted hot tub worked and there was enough hot water. Couldn't get fireplace to work.Quiet location on residential street but walking distance to old town.Only two things amiss, the receptionist who knew nothing about us or the wifi code ,and told us we couldn't park in the hotel lot because the hotel was being painted. We checked with the painter who said no problem. The room was very carelessly cleaned as the sink had dirty marks and the coffee stand had a lot of spilled coffee all over it.
- Louise (6/5): - The decor was unique, clean, quiet.
We were promised a bottle of champagne that was missing. No wifi.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very unique, quaint cottage single unit. A nice balcony covered in grapevines. Great location. Bed was comfortable, decor was very cute. We really liked it.
Could be a little cleaner, cob webs and some dust in corners. Bathroom was clean. It met all our needs and exceeded expectations.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cute little place, beautiful jacuzzi tub, enjoyed the grape vines on the patio.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - If you're someone who wants everything new... look at this location when main building is renovated (underway as of this writing) I stayed in the cabin beside and it's cute, rustic and had a sitting area outside.
- Elston (4/5): - There was a stale smell to the room. The towels were falling apart. There were cobwebs around the door. It was really not fresh or clean at all.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - When we arrived to check-in at 3pm, no one was at the office and it was locked with no instructions on how to check-in posted anywhere. We called the phone number on the reservation, and someone finally answered but sounded like we had woken them up. They were barely polite and had no clue about our reservation. They said they would get someone over to let us into the room. 10 minutes later, someone arrived but was not friendly or apologetic in any way. They gave us the key and when we entered the room it smelled very musty and moldy and damp. The bedding on the bed felt damp.
The room had very basic amenities. We were only staying one night so did not complain but I would never stay there again nor recommend the place to anyone.
Also, the reservation said it included a bottle of wine in our room, but that was not there. The person checking us in had no clue about our reservation, and once they gave us the key, we did not see them or anyone else from the establishment again. There was no one on the premises at all. When we left in the morning, we had been told to just leave the key in the room and shut the door, which is what we did. Not a good experience at all!
- Edward (8/5): - We were just overnight after the theatre so didn't spend much time there. Had to phone to get someone to register us. Enjoyed the complimentary bottle of bubbly, though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The unit was historic ancient but pleasand
The towels need to be replaced but everything else was working in the unit.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Jacuzzi tub took forever to fill up. ran out of hot during fill. Had to go pick key up at a restaurant down the road. Very dated and overpriced
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Arrived and was greeted by someone that did not appear to know what to do, had no idea I was coming and at first, it did not even appear she was going to let me into the office. Once in the office, I could see why there was no clue it looked like this place fell out of the 80's not even a computer in the office AT ALL! She even used one of those old put the visa in one of those old manual imprint devices ?!?!?! I haven't even seen one of those in decades!! There were only two real complaints after this very odd greeting, the hot water tank that supplied our room was clearly in need of replacement as the water that came out was RUSTY! Could not fill the tub even halfway before it was out of hot water so the jacuzzi tub was useless. The TV was so small we used our laptop instead... not that a honeymoon suite is in need of this much. When it came time to leave the next morning we spent 20 min ringing the bell. NO ONE WAS THERE! How can we hand in our keys? No drop box no info and no persons?!?! left key hanging in office door and left... Never guys just never... They have no idea how to run an Inn...
- Kyra Cameron-Munro (10/5): love this place! - these guys only put a picture of the outside of the hotel on the site...which i found very intriguing. AND IM SO GLAD I BOOKED WITH THEM!!! the room is so cool and funky and clean and quiet! i loved it so much and i will definitely be going back more than once.
