• Vatha (7/5): Clean rooms and great showers, but beware of hidden breakfast charges! - I recently stayed at Cafe Aroma Inn and booked a twin-bed room. Overall, the room was very clean and well-maintained. The bathroom was a major plus—it had excellent water pressure for a very comfortable shower, and I really appreciated the separated wet and dry zones. The air conditioning wasn't cold when we first turned it on. We just decided to wait it out and went to sleep, and it did eventually get cooler late at night. I want to give a strong warning about the breakfast. Even if your room rate already "includes breakfast," be very careful not to choose the American Breakfast. We ordered it and were hit with an extra charge. The text mentioning the surcharge is in very small print on the menu, and unfortunately, the staff did not communicate this clearly to us before we placed our order.

Was not worth it, one of our beds had dirty sheets, we heard a man snoring all night (paper thin walls) and the bathroom stunk of vomit - earlier that morning we heard someone omitting so it was probably that. Which isn’t the hotels fault but it impacted us and the $70 a night we paid was certainly not worth it.

Comfortable room and clean bathroom. Lovely choice of breakfast. The room only had Indian power points so make sure you have the right adapters.

The hotel then charged me for my stay and i am still trying to resolve it. They denied cancelling despite me showing the txts. By coincidence i met and american man who had the identical experience 2 days later. I’d avoid , there are plenty of nicer places in same price range . See avove

• Michelle (10/5): Fantastic place - We made a great choice when we changed to this accommodation. Right in the centre of the city. The room was very comfortable. The lack of natural light was not a problem, small price to pay for such a great spot and we were close to a shared balcony. The staff in the restaurant and also running the accommodation are truly exceptional. Young Shan is going to have a great career in hospitality I’m sure.

• Gustav (10/5): - Zentral gelegenes nettes Hotel, freundliches Personal, super Frühstück schon ab 06:30 morgens. Zimmer mit Balkon war schön und groß, Bad ok, Service außergewöhnlich aufmerksam. Wir empfehlen es, wenn man in Kandy nicht auf den Hügeln wohnen will.
• Manijeh Nan (5/5): Shabby - It was walking distance to the lake and the temple. (The street was eerily dead at night, though.) The breakfast was fine. The waiters at breakfast were nice. I think some of the rooms haven't been maintained at all for the past 20 years. I think the A/C unit was 20 years old, and it did not work very well. I don't think the walls have been painted for 20 years. They were in the process of renovating one of the rooms (so the bed and furniture were in the hallway). Hopefully they will eventually renovate all the rooms.

• THIBAUT (8/5): Bon hôtel bien situé dans le centre de Kandy - localisation parfaite en centre ville pour aller visiter le temple de la dent et le marché. ils proposent aussi un restaurant de type contemporain. chambre très correcte et bonne literie. Service attentionné. possibilité d'aller visiter le temple de la Dent avant de prendre le petit déjeuner à la carte.

• Krisztina (1/5): - Location is good. We were very dissatisfied with the accommodation. The room was musty and had no window. It was clearly an old office that had been converted into a room. Two sides of the room were made of glass, covered only with curtains, and next to it was a corridor where people were constantly passing by. We tried to change rooms, but it was only possible the next day. However, the rooms offered to us were in the same condition. The only reason we didn’t move to another hotel was because it was pouring with rain and we were traveling with a child — but knowing what we know now, that wouldn’t stop us, and we would definitely not stay there again. Under no circumstances would we choose this hotel again. During our vacation, we had six other accommodations booked, and we did not experience anything like this anywhere else. Additionally, the TV did not work, and there was no hot water on the first day. The staff tried to help, but we faced language barriers.

• Jiří (8/5): - Dobré umístění, vše v dobré dostupnosti, na pokoji prostorné koupelny s horkou vodou. Pokoje by už potřebovaly údržbu, nejdou poradně dovírat dveře, poteklé stropy a možná i vymalování pokojů by je prosvětlilo.

Also fairly reasonably priced. Enjoyed the variety of breakfast options as well. The rooms could use a small facelift.

• Jacek (10/5): - Świetnie usytuowany, blisko atrakcji, miły i pomocny personel, na wszystkie pytania online odpowiadała nam pani Amra nie musieliśmy czekać na odpowiedź odpowiadała natychmiastowo, nawet jak przyjechaliśmy wcześniej po ustaleniu z panią Amra był już gotowy. Po za tym w obiekcie jest restauracja z bardzo dobrym jedzeniem, nawet moje dzieciaki były zachwycone. Polecam gorąco naprawdę warto.

• Norbert (8/5): - The location is close to the centre of Kandy so everything is within walking reach. Rooms are accessible through elevator or stairs. You get fixed choices of breakfast type to choose from with some variations in each of them. If it's not included with the room booking you have to pay for each breakfast. Room as to be paid on arrival. Anything extra to the breakfast like espresso has to be paid extra since it's not included within the available breakfast type. Your daily made-up room may not be ready when you return from your day trip at 1700. You may also have to re-ask for new small towels.

We didn’t like our room because it was next to the staff room, so we could hear people coming and going — the door even had a glass window, which made it noisy and we could see shadows. There were also two interior windows, one facing the lift area and another behind the bed with just a curtain, which felt a bit strange. The sheets weren’t clean; they looked old and dirty…

• Patrik (10/5): - Café Aroma Inn är ett mycket trevligt hotell som vi varmt kan rekommendera. Personalen var genomgående otroligt vänlig, hjälpsam och fick oss att känna oss välkomna från första stund. Läget är perfekt – centralt med gångavstånd till mycket, men ändå lugnt och tyst på nätterna. Frukosten var mycket god och en härlig start på dagen. Ett riktigt fint boende i Kandy! Extra stort tack till Shan som organiserade en oförglömlig cooking class med Suranjith och hans familj där vi fick laga genuin Sri Lanka mat. Personalen ordnade även medhavd frukost till vår utflykt till Sigiriya.

• Christian (4/5): Für eine Nacht okay. Generell ist Kandy nicht besonders schön gewesen. - Dass dazugehörige Kaffee sieht sehr nett aus und auch die Speisen sahen gut aus. Die zentrale Lage ist nicht schlecht man kann in der Umgebung eine lokale und kleine Geschäfte zu Fuß schneller erreichen. Das Zimmer hatte kein Fenster, nur ein großes auf den Gang hinaus. Die Tür war teilweise aus Glas, daher war es bei Nacht im Zimmer viel zu hell. Es standen einige Wasserflecken und Schimmel,flecken an der Decke und an den Wänden von der Klimaanlage. Obwohl wir das Frühstück mit bezahlt haben und das zweimal zugesichert wurde, wollten Sie uns dann wieder einen Aufschlag für das American Breakfast verrechnen obwohl das eigentlich kein Mensch bestellt hat. Im Kaffee tun sie zwar auf gehobene Gastronomie, die Kellner können aber eigentlich kaum Englisch und sind mit wenigen Gästen stark überfordert.
