- Paul (6/5): Prima verblijf, maar te hoog aangeschreven in de recensies. - Het was een Pub/Inn. Daar hadden we ook voor gekozen. Dichtbij Exeter, zeker ook aan te raden om dat met de trein te doen vanaf Crediton station. Parkeren was 5 minuten lopen. Dat was prima. Kamer was klein, maar schoon en met een goede douche. In de pub prima pie gegeten en het was er gezellig met veel honden. We hadden gedacht boven de Pub te zijn, maar het was in een zijgebouw. Het ontbijt was een beetje vreemd met een croissant en een pain au chocola. Dat verwacht je niet in Engeland. Toast werd pas na afloop van het ontbijt geserveerd. ( 2e dag direct om gevraagd). Aankomst tijd was zeer verwarrend, 15.00 uur; 16.00 uur en 17.00 uur was aangegeven. Eigenaar was zakelijk en daardoor redelijk afstandelijk in onze ogen.

Shame that cutbacks meant the kitchen closed at 8 so I couldn’t enjoy a pub supper after the work that took me there. Pity, too, that there was no longer cooked breakfast on offer.

- Juliette (10/5): Lovely old pub - We love this quaint little pub SMS have stayed before. We came with my elderly father to visit my elderly Aunt travelling over 300 miles from Suffolk to Devon. The accommodation was lovely and we’ve been before because it’s close to where Aunt lives and is dog friendly. Unfortunately we couldn’t bring my aunt there for lunch because she can’t climb the steps up into the pub. I do love it here though. NA

This should be including the room rate, not charged at an additional £11.50 per person. Not good at all. The room needed a good dusting, and the cobwebs removed. The extract fan in the tiny shower room didn’t extract.

Limited menu but great if you love a pie although they didn't look great and the pub closes at 8pm Sundays with nowhere else to go.

- Alison (8/5): Nice overnight stay - Check in through the pub. Nice friendly welcome, expected us, shown to room annexed to the pub. Quite spacious room with TV, tea/coffee, very clean room, on suite was small but adequate. Asked if we wanted continental breakfast which we did, paid extra and it was very nice and plentiful. Went back in to the pub bar for dinner, limited menu, only served until 19.30 but that was fine and suited us. Parking is tricky as the pub doesn’t have a car park but you might be lucky and be able to park outside the pub. Lovely quiet area, very rural outside the village.

Our Daughter said the bed in the smaller bedroom wasn't very comfortable so we used spare duvets and a blanket to make it more comfortable. The small garden area was ideal for our dogs to be able to give them some space to toilet etc. The food in the pub was very nice, my only criticism would be the lack of vegetarian options. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and informative.

- Jo (8/5): Proper village feel, would stay again. - We was able to check in early, given directions on a nice walk into Crediton. The room was comfortable with facilities needed for a nights stay. The breakfast was lovely with milk straight from the cows in the village, warmed croissant waiting for us for scheduled breakfast time. Good service and friendly staff. Decor could do with brightening up, colour of the room was a bit dull. Just a personal preference but didn't affect my stay. ( I should have packed a make up light).
