Guest Reviews
- Mariana (4/5): - Veľmi jednoduché ubytovanie. Malé, zatuchnuté izby.
- Steve (3/5): I didn’t stay but inspected the room - Under par Edge of town
- Smith (1/5): -
- Wayne (1/5): Totally Sucks - Absolutely nothing The place is a slum, located in a weird out of the way neighborhood with no convenient other businesses such as stores, restaurants or gas stations.
I couldn't initially locate the address because the entire property is so poorly illuminated and the one small sign was not illuminated at all.
The office is tiny and dingy, and the clerk was a jerk. I left without even checking in and drove to Bakersfield to get a quality room at a Hampton Inn.
- Kimberly (8/5): -
- Bruce (7/5): Nice stay. Served our purpose for the night. - No breakfast at motel. Quiet, well maintained. Little old and in need of some repairs, looks like they were working on it. Kinda outdated, but clean. Not the way it was pictured in the ad, but okay. Served our purpose for the night.
- Rodney (4/5): Dude opened the front door and said “what do you want”. Then I woke up itchy from the bed. Then th pillow sheets were di - Location. Old. Dirty rooms Location. Old building. Rude dude on the front.
- Evelia (10/5): Present - Very clean Somehow affordable
- Stephen (6/5): Ok place - It was fine. No better than that, but fine. Across the street from a nature preserve. It was clean, but run-down enough that it wasn’t obvious that it would be clean. Didn’t seem like a good value. Nothing nice about it, but also nothing interesting or appealing to offset that.
- Kevin (7/5): - Location is well lit and convenient for me
- Drew (2/5): - The guy at the front desk was argumentative and rude the place was old
- Billy (4/5): Disappointing -
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Metzger (3/5): Very disappointing and not worth the money - It was clean It's very old, worn down, not upgraded at all. The shower runs continuously, heavy dripping.
- Maldonado (3/5): Poor - Did not like. Bed was not comfortable.
- Kayla (10/5): - The owners were super friendly
- Peter (10/5): Dated but ok. - Ik the place is dated butit was pretty clean and i asked about morning coffee. They called me when it was ready. The bed qas comfortable the sheets were old but clean. The shower was okay plenty of pressure and plenty of hot water.
Not a bad stay for the price.
I will stay again if i have to be in the area
.
- Connie (7/5): Love the quiet here - We like it because its a couple of miles out of town away from the planes, trains and automobiles. Its dated but clean. The bed was a little hard for my taste, but thats a personal preference. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saewoosan (10/5): Exceptional - I was worried because there were a lot of bad reviews, but it was quieter and nicer than I thought. It was also cleaned very well. It's good for the price. If you want a more spacious place, go to a 5-star hotel.
- Jason (5/5): Passable -
- Turner (7/5): Older but functional - Clean Price, no breakfast
- Beth (3/5): This motel needs and ENTIRE overhaul. - There was a fridge Blanket was gross and had to use towels to cover it up. Shower was gross. Carpet coming unglued.
Ripped box spring. Old bedspread.
- Connie (7/5): It was a little expensive, but so are most hotels now. - No Breakfast. This older motel was about a mile and a half outside of town so no train noise or traffic. It's an older motel and could use some updating, but it was clean, had a microwave and fridge. I'm used to a much softer bed.
- 360 (2/5): Very poor - The bed and close to downtown No shampoo, soap was very little, tv was on the internet, towel was dirty but reaked of bleach
- Jacklyn (6/5): - Basic room which was all we needed. Nothing fancy, but room was clean
- Larria (8/5): Very good - I’ve stayed there a couple of times. It’s quite, it gets dark as hell out there but you feel safe. The owner is very kind. It was very close to where I needed to go & it was worth the stay. 2 nights 3 days each time & nothing has changed. They have no smoking rooms
- Andy (5/5): Just came for a wedding and needed a place to stay so I booked this. Low cost and job done. - The Facilities are back dated.
- Blanca (3/5): Disappointed, dirty! - The TV was great Everything was dirty. Pillows were yellow and dirty. Carpet was super dirty and not to mentioned the couch. Blankets/ bed sheets had some stains. Over all the room was very gross.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bert (7/5): Budget Stay - It was very quiet area. I got what I paid for.. I had asked /reserved a king size bed, because it was busy, we got 2 full beds, even though I reserved it 3 days before.
- Shai (7/5): Good for one night. Looks like hotel in old movies - Bed is big and comfortable.
Room light is good There was only one chair.
Faucets looks very old and in the shower were very hard to close.
- Thomas (9/5): Superb - The hospitality Short visit
- Tomas (10/5): - The service was friendly and very welcoming.
- Rick (8/5): Perfect spot to for an overnight and close to the things I wanted to see in Tehachapi - Had everything a a 2-star Motel would have and it’s off the beaten track away from the main town district. There’s a nice park across the street and the views of the mountains and scenery were great. Not too much—the lighting in the room wasn’t the greatest with options for 3 wall mounted LED
- Michael (2/5): Cheap but crummy. - The price is the only thing. Even the soap was the cheapest thing. Absolutely no extras. Even a way to make hot water.
- Patrick (10/5): I truly enjoyed this place. The nature preserve across the street was really pretty - I was visiting my dad that was in the hospital. Great location close to town.
- Espinoza (1/5): Bad -
- Ralph (2/5): Unfriendly staff . I won't go there again. - Reasonably quiet, Bathroom sink wouldn't drain, dor wouldn't fully open.
- Carmen (10/5): Tehachapi is a beautiful town, love that it’s mountains are near by the people are very friendly we - I loved that the scenery was beautiful looking out my window and seeing mountains gave me peace, everything was close by N/A
- lucas (8/5): nice place to spend the night - For those seeking a moderate priced motel that is clean and comfortable in this area, Golden Hills is an excellent choice. A short distance out of town and not much to look at exteriorly but the rooms are large, comfortable, clean and well taken care of. I can highly rate Golden Hills for overnight acommodations.
- Melanie (8/5): Very good -
- Rodolfo D. (10/5): - No office sign. No amenities.
- Ortiz (10/5): Very comfortable - Very Clean To far from town and freeway
- Serge (8/5): - A modest motel near Tehachapi (and Tehachapi train loop). Simple, clean.
- Edith (2/5): Rooms are dirty and old, need an upgrade - Nothing Everything is in bad shape and dirty
- Craig (6/5): - Clean but overall condition not well maintained due to age.too far from restaurant and convenience stores.
- Lopez (8/5): Very good -
- See (1/5): The worst stay of my long trip so far. - Wifi was good and nothing else really. Couldn't wait to get out.
Arrived at place but had to park car next to the main road and I had to drag my 2 suitcases across gravel stones because the carpark has been newly painted and cannot enter. The place is run down. Dark and gloomy. Next to highway - noisy. Far from eating places.
- Judy (10/5): - Friendly service.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Good overnight stay. - This is a basic service motel. It was clean. The bed was fine. We were passing through and it met our needs. The price was right.
- Eli (9/5): Thanks - So relax Everething okay
- Journey18564350036 (2/5): Do not stay here - I had blood stains and saw faces please help me I don’t care how cheap it is I saw stuff I regret ever seeing it was so bad I left in the middle of the night and I had a car following me and I look and it disappeared but there was no turn off insight
- William (5/5): Probably would not stay here again. - The heater worked. The bed mattress was not very comfortable. The bathroom sink had an open drain with no protection to prevent items such as a ring or other jewelry from going down the drain. The outlet by the TV was old and very loose - not able to adequately support plugs.
- Irving (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eli (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (7/5): Good -
- James (6/5): it worked. price for two should be about 75.00 tops - location lacked amenities easy comforts like a lamp cheep TP
- Della (10/5): - Beautiful setting
- Chuck (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kimberly (6/5): - Poorly maintained, drippy shower, very thin towels, plus not very clean. We won’t stay here again.
- Harper (8/5): - My sister and I were beginning a section hike of the Pacific Crest Trail and needed rooms for the night. The price was right for what we needed. Not fancy, but a hot shower and a good nights sleep.
- Robert (4/5): Disappointing -
- David (2/5): What a dump! - Nothing Dated motel, no modern conveniences. Wall outlets so old they wouldn't hold the phone charger. No night stand lamp. Shower had loose pipes, and holes in the side walls. Bathroom door had a hole kicked ln it. No coffee maker. No breakfast included. Dirty carpet, curtains, walls, windows, etc. Can't understand how they can justify charging $95 for a room that is not worth more than $40. Don't stay HERE!!!! It is a DUMP!!!
- Thomas (3/5): Very disappointed in the quality. - No Breakfast Service It is very old and deteriorating. Needs lots of maintenance.
- Leticia (3/5): Poor - nothing the frint desk people were rude. the room was dirty and dingy.
- Kimberly (10/5): - I loved this for a quick stop while traveling. Was happily surpriseed when there was trails that I could walk my dogs on! Nice quiet place to lay your head!
- Thomas (8/5): - Accommodations were very clean and facility was well kept up. Area was quiet and parking was adjacent to room. We would stay there again if in the area.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Better than park bench, or was it ? - Better than sleeping in my car, but not worth $70 per nite. Peeling toilet seat.
Dead baby roach on bathroom floor. Bed short sheeted for no reason.
Overlooks very busy road, so noisey.
But nowhere else to waitout auto repair, so trapped for 3 nites. Pluses..it had heat & air & running water !
- Verified traveler (6/5): Affordable and clean, but old. - The motel is on the western edge of town and quite peaceful. The motel is an older property, the towels were clean, but thin. The bed was very firm.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I was locked in my room overnight due to a malfunctioning deadbolt lock. The upside, I was safe, good bed though. In the off chance that YOU do read these responses, let my know who paid the $53.30 charge on the room. My receipt shows the last 4 digits as NOT belonging to any card in my possession.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Smells like cigarettes right as you walk in the door. Our towels were dirty, bugs on the ground. Not sure if the bed was even cleaned
- elaine (6/5): - Manager of hotel was great. Bed was hard and towels were like sand paper.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room not truly handicap accessible. Very comfortable and had personal size microwave and refridgerator. Manager called ahead to be sure of my needs which was really appreciated.
- RENEE (10/5): Good value for money - Quiet older hotel.
- NomadicEdventures (4/5): Great Place for a Scary Evening - We rolled into the Golden Hills Motel on a foggy night. The entrance was shrouded in mist and there was one lonely car parked behind the motel as we ambled up to room 119. The room key said it all. The digits '119' written on a piece of paper scotch taped to the key badge. We held our breath and went in.
The TV was a 30 year old Zenith brand and every other channel had different levels of noise distortion. The bathroom was creepy and the sheets dry and scratchy. My wife and I were inspired to start a rough draft of our last will and testament, confident we would be murdered by some ax wielding madman in our sleep. We made sure both door locks were securely fastened before bedding down for the night. We actually laughed ourselves to sleep at the absurdity of it all.
Surprisingly, we awoke alive and left as soon as possible. We dropped the key in the key drop and burned rubber, feeling thankful during the holiday season.
p.s. If you're shooting a low budget horror flick, this setting is perfect!
- donna (10/5): tehachapi - the rooms are quiet and clean
- Deborah (8/5): Golden Hills Motel - This is in a good location and for a working man the perfect place to stay.
Nothing fancy, but clean and has everything you could expect.
I would stay here again!
- maureensheart (2/5): RUN AWAY RUN FAR - Terrible place. I should have read reviews before we got there. Gratefully we were able to cancel the 2nd night and only stay 1 night. Shower was scary. Place is awful. The sheets were clean at least. AWFUL
- Paola (6/5): Ok - It was ok it sleep there
- Maureen (2/5): - VERY OVERPRICED. VERY DISAPPOINTED. CREEPY
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not bad - Good decent rooms. Came expecting worse due to last place i stayed in town for the same price. It was much better so overall worth the money.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not worth the price - I am not sure how Expedia-AARP could recommend this motel. The ratings for this motel are questionable as this place has too many undesirable features. We would not recommend this facility to family and friends, especially those with kids. Just 7 minutes away you will find a Marriot and Best Western wich are both safe, good pricing, breakfast, hot water and good service. $65 for a nights stay at Golden Hills Motel but definitely not worth being economical. Save your money and pay a little more @ Best Western.
- Chris (6/5): - new to area and interesting to see the area
- deborahsB8263TY (6/5): OK for a few hours sleep. - I arrived after 10 pm for a bike ride in Sept 2016. While it reminded me of The Twilight Zone, my room was clean. I used it to sleep a few hours, then checked out. It suited my purpose --- saved $!!!
- Leon (10/5): The great inexpensive place to stay in Tehachapi ! - You only have to get used to the traffic or road noise running next door BUT this did NOT bother me !!
- William (6/5): Its fine if you can't afford much - Kind of a dump but if you just need to stay a night and don't have much money then its doable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): cold and rough - cold, heating unit was noisy. hot water would be nice. loud traffic noise did not stop till 12am. sleeping on the floor is softer then the bed. got what i paid for.
- Verified traveler (8/5): clean, no nonsense room in Tehachapi - Great place to stsy in Tehachai. Clean, clean, clean, no nonsense room with great water pressure and hot water in shower and no crazy deposit. Staff is helpful and also no nonsense.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Two stars tops - If you just need a roof and running water this is it. Shower had mold all along edges and the toilet seat was the pressed wood that was swollen with use. The gave one washcloth for two us, when I asked for a second they said they didn't have anymore but would get one (never did). We couldn't properly close the blind to for privacy if we opened for sunlight. Bare bones, basic. If it's all you can afford it's shelter to sleep, wash and get out.
- Rochelle (2/5): - The room was clean. It took the hot water a good 4 minutes to heat up to shower. When checking in, the clerk seemed confused because we changed bed size. He tried to charge us for a 2nd room?
- Verified traveler (2/5): hotel was scary - The bathroom was dirty
One of the Lights were burnt out
The toilet didn't flush right
The bathroom window does not lock and faces the highway. I'm lucky no one broke inside
The pillows were flat and dirty
Very unhappy with the cleanliness of this place
I will never stay here again
- Deborah (6/5): Clean, No-Frills Spooky-Looking MOTEL - This was an overnight stay for the Tehachapi Grand Fondo cycling event the next day. Arrived at 10 pm with wake-up time at 5 am, so I only used the room to sleep. Motel looks spooky, but the room was clean. The dorm-size fridge was adequate to keep my drinks cold. Only complaint: The toilet "ran" (in Room 118). *** One has to drive 2 to 3 miles for stores, etc. PRICE WAS RIGHT!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was decent for the price, not the nicest of Motels.
- Chrisama (8/5): Great adorable place! - I have stayed here at least four different times. The front desk gentleman is very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and decent. Older rooms and furniture but for my Son and I it's perfect! The wifi is great to and I have to have it for my job. I will continue to stay here when I can!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great for the price! Will Stay again in the future - The hotel is an older hotel, but it is clean compared to some of the places I have stayed that were supposedly four stars. The front desk man was very nice an friendly. He called me to ask if I needed room service or anything. I read the other reviews and I'm glad I actually went and stayed to form my own opinion. I would definitely stay here again. The wifi was decent too! If you want high class and want to pay high prices go some place else. If you know how to be content and appreciate a decent hotel and a decent price then you will like this hotel as I did.
- Verified traveler (8/5): No Frills Motel That Gets The Job Done - I've stayed here multiple times and have had a good stay. The front desk staff are pleasant to deal with. The rooms have a weird smell to them, but they are clean overall. I wish the showers were a bit bigger and the televisions were newer instead of old school CRT, but other than that it's not a bad place to stay. More pillows would be nice as well. It's priced pretty well, however I think it should be about 10 dollars cheaper. It's in a safe location. I would stay here again.
- H2OutWest (2/5): Dodged a bullet. - Made a reservation weeks in advance, called to update my information and was told I didn't have one even though I gave them my card information, had confirmed check-in/out times, etc. They claimed this never happened. Dishonest. Left me without a place to stay on a holiday weekend crossing country.
- hogheadj (2/5): Golden Hills Motel - Like staying at a Motel 6 Minus 100. PITCH A TENT. If you don't avoid it's your own fault. Right on the highway so it seems like you are on the sidewalk trying to sleep next to the road. Old Old Old. What few sticks of furniture was bashed in. Cold 19 Degrees outside, heater did not cycle. We put heat on lowest of low, just kept on heating on low. Had to open the window in the bathroom to let out the heat. I don't think it could be upgraded to a kennel.
