Perfect if you're looking for a quiet escape, with a beautiful garden as well. The staff were super friendly. Great hosting, I requested an early breakfast and they delivered. Burkleigh House is conveniently located, beautifully designed, and carefully tended to by wonderful staff. The breakfasts were a treat to look forward to every day, and the chef kindly catered to our dietary requirements. You'll forget you're in the city when you spend time in the garden, too! Honestly, everything exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait for our next visit.

The shower head was too big and if it was smaller the water pressure would be way better / I battled to wash my face and body without wetting my hair and battled to wash my hair as the pressure was too low. Other than that the stay was really lovely!!!

Breakfast is exceptional, fresh ingredients and prepared by staff that know what they are doing, a big thumbs up! The location is quiet and peaceful, a little oasis in Johannesburg. I also enjoyed the antique furniture that you can find in the property. Well taken care of pieces of history! I can highly recommend this place and I will be back for sure! I stayed in room 5 and one of the bathroom light bulbs was not working.

- Manreet (10/5): Beautiful, luxurious accommodation at a very affordable price. - The whole house including my room, dining area, indoor and outdoor lounge areas are beautifully decorated. The gardens in particular are spectacular and without them,the beauty of the whole place would not be the same. My room was large and well equipped - the ensuite had both a shower and a bath, and the bed was very comfortable. I relaxed in the comfortable lounge chair in the evenings and if you want to work, there is a large desk and chair. The staff are wonderful - especially Estelle - and cannot do enough to make you feel at home and meet your needs. Breakfasts are the best. I arrived terribly late at night due to several flight delays and was met by the owner herself, Patricia, who was very gracious and settled me into my room. I highly recommend Burkleigh House. Nothing !
