In the morning the staff gave a friendly assistance with whatever I needed . It was great staying at the house and was closer to the place of visit There was a garden in front of my room and it gave me great tranquility. All was great

I waited too long at the gate for assistance and PPL working outside were aware that there is a car outside and I needed to enter I was struggling. Not everyone like when hooting to call for assistance 2

The atmosphere was wonderfully tranquil, offering the perfect setting for rest and relaxation. Every logistical detail was handled with such ease and professionalism, allowing me to simply enjoy my time without any worries. I wholeheartedly recommend Heatherdale Guest House to anyone seeking a peaceful, homely environment where you are received with warmth and treated like family. I sincerely thank you for the outstanding hospitality. I look forward to my next trip to Johannesburg. I will most certainly be returning. I absolutely loved every moment of my stay. Thank you There was nothing I did not like about Heatherdale Guest House. Everything exceeded my expectations.
• Potgieter (1/5): could not stay there! - The 2 family rooms i booked looked nothing like the pictures, it had a terrible smell, was filthy, curtains not even covering the windows - we attended a function in the area as we arrived just before 14h00 Sat, and got taken through the back yard to our rooms my husband and myself jumped on the phone to get alternative accomodation before our friends with their 2 children arrived - we rushed as our function started at 16h00 and still had to get ready - these rooms had no mirror the stench of old cooked food in the shared kitchen/bedroom and shower door was falling from the wall. This was my second experience through Booking.com

Also didn't like the fact that I had to be charged an extra 300 cash for having my wife with me. And the overfamiliarity in how the caretaker questioned for confirmation that my wife is indeed my wife. Very unprofessional.

The water was cold even though he told me how to open the shower taps, hot water only came out for a few seconds. The aircon didn’t dispense warm air & it was cold that night so I couldn’t keep myself warm.

• Mirriam (9/5): Excellent - The place is at a secure safe environment. The place is beautiful. It is clean and the host was accomodating. The garden wow. it's really a home away from home. The room was big and the beds were comfortable. The bad tub was not working only a shower and I was traveling with kids.
• Puleng (3/5): One night of disaster - Pool even though it was small but it was clean I was in Room 15 which is inside the house. I had opted for luxury room but it was not luxury at all. The toilet is dingy and very tight and small. No window or extractor in it. It was also not full height like its made for short people. Very claustrophobic. When you finish doing your business the smell goes out with you to the main room you stay in. The tap in it is not working you have to wash your hands in the bathroom. It stays smelly for a long time cos the smell has nowhere to go. The same with bathroom no window nor extractor as well. When you take a shower its like you are steaming cos there's no escape for steam and its like you'll suffocate. I couldn't breathe in there cos I'm asthmatic. It was too terrible. The bed had two 3 quarter beds put together. The first one has one shorter back leg therefore it see saws when you turn while sleeping and makes an annoying noise. The bedside lamp not working have to use my cellphone at night. One of the two identical lights in the kitchenette was malfunctioning and kept on switching on an off the entire night while still awake. I was woken up by tapping of the dripping water sound cos it rained and used my cell to check where it was coming from and there was a roof leak dropping on the kitchen cupboard. The worst I saw a cockroach and I took a picture of it I hit it with a shoe and left it there on the floor. The next minute it was black covered with ants dragging it it was just gross. Obviously there's more where it came from. i called in the morning to ask for breakfast arrangements and Fred asked me if I booked with breakfast. That made me very upset to realize that he was not even aware of that. He said they only do breakfast for groups and I told him that I have to have breakfast cos i paid for it. They arranged breakfast for us which was just okay but nothing special and no variety cos it was dished out in plates already. Thanks God I booked just for one night. The worst experience ever.

Will never stay here again and would not recommend anyone to ever stay here. Ohh and FYI there is no pool it is covered with grass now. It's a home away from home. ❤️❤️❤️ We couldn't use the pool because it was recently painted or renovated.

When checking-in, the room with the bath we asked for when booking was taken by another guest who arrived with other guests. Arrangements were made and we got a room with a bath as I was with my children. We were provided with extra towels and bottled water. The bedding and towels needs to be upgraded - they old and need new ones. The bathroom was functional but could be improved.
