Casa de Amistad is truly wonderful because Mike and John are absolutely fantastic hosts: they pay attention to every detail, give you the best advice to plan your stay, and are both warm and lovely. The property itself is beautiful decorated, comfortable, incredibly cute and in a perfect location. Not one thing.

The inn and grounds are lovely, a quiet oasis in the middle of Isabel Segunda. Mike and John were extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and general tips on Vieques. We would highly recommend Casa de Amistad to anyone visiting the island. I can't think of anything!

The guesthouse truly feels like home and gives off such a calm and loving vibe, thank you for having me!

Die Gastgeber Mike und John sind sehr herzlich und haben viele Tipps für einen und darüber hinaus ist es als würde man Urlaub bei der Familie machen. Wir können die Unterkunft nur empfehlen. Wir hatten ein wahnsinnig tolle Zeit auf Vieques. Mike und John stellen Strandstühle, Kühlboxen usw zur Verfügung. Man kann die komplette Küche benutzen. Es fehlt einem an nichts. Aber wie bereits geschrieben ist das allerbeste die Herzlichkeit mit der Mike und John diese Unterkunft führen. Wir würden jederzeit wieder diese Unterkunft auswählen. Es ist etwas ganz besonderes. Das wir leider abreisen mussten.

No negative comments at all :)

When you arrive the owners offer you a full explanation of things to do on the island, good spots to eat and get a drink, activities, etc. The hotel is fully equipped (swimming pool, kitchen, shower for late checkout!!) They provide coolers, beach towels, sunscreen, beach chairs, etc. The location is right in the middle of the town. Close to the ferry station. You will have restaurants, bars, bakery at a walking distance. They also have a parking lot. It was great ! They are really nice and available ! It’s a human size hotel and that’s what makes the difference. Thank you very much! Ps: Viequies is beautiful and worth saying couple of nights. Nothing. It was great!

• Frida (10/5): 10 uit 10 - Het was geweldig van begin tot eind. De casa is heel gemakkelijk (te voet) te bereiken vanaf de ferry en bij binnenkomst voelde ik me meteen zo welkom! Ik kreeg direct een kaart van het eiland met daarop alle aanbevelingen, gevolgd door een mini-rondleiding door het huis en de tuin. Gedurende mijn verblijf maakte ik gebruik van de verschillende faciliteiten en met vragen kon ik altijd terecht bij John en Mike (maar ook gewoon voor een gezellig praatje). De mannen zijn onwijs vriendelijk, warm en behulpzaam. Ik heb hierdoor fantastische dagen gehad op Vieques!

On an island full of beautiful beaches where you can kayak, snorkel and really just adventure your heart out, Casa de Amistad is the pest place to rest and recharge. The common areas are well kept and kitchen area is amazing with plenty of cookware of coming on vacation is your thing. The rooms are clean and the decor is great. The whole place really embraces a warm and welcoming aesthetic (and roosters lol). Oh, and the pool is gorgeous and demands to chilled in our next to. Lastly, the hosts are amazing and really make this place special. John was so helpful and kind. Truly a special place, by habit I'm not a repeat traveler but I'm Vieques and Casa de Amistad are the exception, I can't wait to go back!

La posizione è perfetta sia i quanti vicino al porto, sia perché a un passo da tutti i locali. I due host sono stati gentilissimi fin da subito e ci hanno consigliato un sacco di attività da fare, indirizzandoci verso operatori altrettanti simpatici e disponibili, con cui ci siamo trovati benissimo. Tutto questo, unito alla bellezza dell’Isola, ha reso la vacanza indimenticabile.
• Giulia (9/5): Beautiful stay in Isabel II - The hotel is super cute, well mantained, nicely decorated, comfortable and in an excellent location. But what truly makes the difference are the hosts, they are so lovely, accomodating and friendly. They make you feel at home right from the start, help you left and right if you need anything and always with a smile. I would go back anywhere where these 2 people are working! Perhaps a little expensive but considering the help and support you get from the owners, plus the location and comfort I would still go back to Casa De Amistad without debating it too much.

• Raab (10/5): Perfection - The way that Casa de Amistad is designed is so thoughtful. You can tell they have experienced the lifestyle they wish to provide to their guests. It felt like we were staying at a guestroom of a friend's house (that really liked us 😉). Additionally everyone was so welcoming and accommodating. It was like we were gabbing with buddies that we hadn't seen in a while but no time seemed to have passed. They are so knowledgeable and if you name drop them to any tours, everyone says they'll take great care of you and it's true. The location is great as well with cute brunch spots and Puerto Rican food. You just pop off the ferry and it's a super short walk. I would highly recommend Casa de Amistad for someone who wants to experience the island with a comfortable vibe to come back and rest rather than stay in their room and be waited on. My sister and I plan to come back, explore more beaches, and stay right here. No complaints

It honestly felt like we were staying at a friend’s house, not a hotel. The rooms were immaculate, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Isabella had way more options for dining and groceries and it was also a lot quieter than Esperanza. During check in we were given a list of recommendations for restaurants and activities which was very helpful. The hotel has beach chairs, coolers, and beach towels available for guest use as well. I would definitely stay here again.

The Host Megan was so warm, delightful and extremely helpful and went above and beyond assisting us when we were unable to communicate in Spanish. • Teresa (10/5): Wonderful, you will not be disappointed! - Property was in town on a quieter street. It had a wonderful reading room, common kitchen to cook meals and a quaint pool. The decor, the plants made it feel zen like. I cannot say anything bad about it.

Hosts not only have a beautiful property that is well maintained and tidy always, they both bring a helpful and personal touch while hosting. From greeting you with a beer or coffee upon arrival, they get an idea for your desired trip and mark off a map for you with restaurants, beaches and activities (bio bay, snorkeling etc.) They know the island very well and they know how to treat their guests. Beach towels, coolers and beach chairs for guests was a great perk to have for outings and the pool was wonderful once you got back. Rooms and beds are very comfortable and shower is large and luxurious. I loved the sitting area overlooking the street. Shared kitchen and fridge for that big last meal! My next trip back to Vieques will be contingent on staying here. Thank you again! 12/10

• Malin (10/5): A place you feel at ease - Really nice backyard an balconies to hang out. Really warm and welcoming hosts that gives the place a positive eine. All you need for the beach (beach bag, chairs, coolers, towels). Nice common kitchen with friendly Co-guests.
• Parker (10/5): - What an absolutely wonderful property with fantastic hosts. You can really tell that Mike and John love what they do and they love to share Vieques with their guests. From the moment you step through the door you feel like you are being welcomed home. Everything from sitting down with you upon arrival and going over the map, to the honor beer fridge and the impromptu concierge service, you know that you are somewhere special. Judging by the devoted community that continues to stay here trip after trip, I would guess most people leave feeling the same way. Leaving this place is never goodbye, only see you next time, because you will be back. Now for the technical details. The room comes with a beach bag and beach towels for your use. There are also plenty of first come, first serve beach chairs and ice chests which we made good use of. The shared spaces are laid out beautifully and include a full functioning and stocked kitchen, a grill, dining areas, the honor beer fridge, and of course the pool. Two seperate courtyards with tropical flora highlight the outdoor spaces. The room was clean and charming, adourned with thoughtfully curated touches of decor. The rooms had the perfect balance of being a comfortable and private landing pad for the evening but not so much to keep you inside on vacation. The shower was hot and refreshing. The neighborhood itself felt very safe and was walkable with good bars, restaurants, groceries, and shopping all within walking distance.

• Steven (10/5): Casa de Amistead will be the ONLY place we will stay when visiting Vieques! - Casa de Amistead was fantastic. Immediately upon meeting John and Michael, the hosts, you are greeted with warmth, a welcome to Vieques and the lay of the land. The hosts are a wealth of information about Vieques. In fact, every recommendation they gave us was on-point. From restaurants, beaches and shops, everything was great. The guesthouse is a great central point for walking casually around the neighborhood. We rented a jeep during our stay and never had problems parking. The room is tight but it suited all our needs. The air conditioning was great and the water pressure in the shower was good. I was pleasantly surprised! The pool area in the back was comfortable for chilling and lounging after the beach. We loved the communal area of the kitchen and eating areas. The property was adults only and the guests here respect everyone's time at the guesthouse. The property is safe and we never felt safety being compromised. We will stay here every time we return to Vieques...and it will be soon! Thanks, guys! We loved everything about this place!
• Ben (10/5): Ideal location for exploring Vieques - Casa de Amistad is a lovely guest house in a great location near the ferry terminal and downtown Isabel II. Our room was very cool and modern and it was nice to have communal amenities like the kitchen, pool, and morning coffee. John and Mike go above and beyond to make sure your visit to Vieques is as enjoyable as possible - we will definitely stay here again when we’re next on the island! p.s. there are many nice places within walking distance, but in general, you will want a car or at least a golf cart on Vieques, so be sure to arrange that in advance - John and Mike have a list of recommended rental companies

• Rafael (10/5): - Casa Amistad is a great place to stay in Vieques. I stayed in the facilities for the time of the “Fiestas Patronales”. The facilities and security are the best. From the moment you arrive at the place you feel very welcome. John and Mike are kind apart in their treatment and service and provide you with all the information about the place, places to visit, places to eat and any other information you need. They will promptly take care of any needs that you may have. On site they have a very well-maintained pool and beach equipment (coolers, balls, etc.) that you can use if you go to the beach. The room where I stayed was in excellent condition, very well maintained and very cozy. It has a balcony where you can sit and drink coffee and watch nature. Outside the room there is a terrace where you can sit and spend some quiet time, and there are other indoor and outdoor areas where you can share and eat. The place is within walking distance of the town and the boat terminal. There are places to eat within walking distance. If you rent a car, John and Mike provide you with literature, maps, and directions for the places you want to visit and activities you want to do. In conclusion, I give my best recommendation for Casa Amistad and I will return again. Thank you, John and Mike, for everything.

It was also great that they had beach items available for use so we didn't have to worry about renting them elsewhere. Nice location as well. Not the fault of the Guesthouse but we were the only people at the guesthouse for 2 of our 3 nights. Was hoping for it to be a LITTLE more lively but I understand we were there in a bit of the off-season.

Mike and John are fantastic owners and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Roosters in the am but they supply ear plugs if they really bother you! And roosters are everywhere on Vieques.

• Jody (9/5): We LOVED staying at Casa de Amistad Guesthouse - GREAT place for first time and return travelers. - There was no solid breakfast, but coffee tea and water available. Oh and beer in the fridge pay by honor system. This is a guesthouse so a nice big shared kitchen. Having this be our first time in Vieques, being so close to the ferry was a big plus for us. We really loved the layout of the place and the shared spaces, the heated pool, and of course the amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Eddy and Meghan were just so very helpful!! We also liked the LGBTQ friendliness. The room we were in was pretty small (room 4), being there for 4 nights felt cramped with not much room for luggage. I'd say that's the only thing I'd complain about. We just had such a great time and this guesthouse was a great base!

• Natalie (10/5): A charming and comfortable home away from home in Vieques. - The property is beautiful and comfortable. From the minute of arrival, we were well taken care of and felt like we like we had a friend in Megan who was so helpful and fun. There is a lot of love and care that has been invested in this hotel and it is so evident that the guest experience is at the forefront of all decisions. I’m a frequent traveler and rarely have I felt so impressed by the general organization and good vibe that is evident here.
• Leonardo (10/5): Superb Stay - This was by far one of the best places we have stayed in a while. From their recommendations to their warm welcome and goodbye, we felt like family the whole time. When I come back I refuse to stay anywhere else! We used all of their facilities, including their wash and fold service. We got back, and the clothes were folded and hung as asked. Make reservations at El Quenepo in advance. Their food was superb! This location is walking distance from the ferry. We also rented an ATV, and that worked out very well! Don't look anywhere else, this place will feel like home. Limited umbrellas to take with us to the beach, but it's probably because the others woke up earlier and used them.
