Guest Reviews
- Derell (1/5): This property don't pay your deposit back. I am taking them to small claim court. -
- Dohl (1/5): -
- Fleury (1/5): -
- Jordan (3/5): - I was charged a refundable $100 deposit in my room on December 5th and was told it would be returned after check out. Here it is almost a month later and I have not received my money back onto my card. The lady at the front counter took forever to find my reservation at first she said there wasn't one.
- Ali (6/5): -
- Elizabeth (1/5): - The host didn't have our reservation and did not offer to help at all. The whole place stank like old cigarettes.
- Henry (8/5): - Hotel is a little antiquated. But rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Will probably stay again
- KeepItCheap (4/5): Reservation system incompatible with the modern world - This is a very small, ancient-looking motel, but probably suitable for a quick overnight while traveling. Unfortunately, I am unable to comment on the inside of the motel since I've never seen it. Despite my having booked two rooms for my family, there was nothing available when I arrived. I dearly wish I had read other reviews on here before making a booking on hotels.com. Whatever reservations system the "front desk" uses, it has no communication with online reservation services. Whatever any hotel sites tell you, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. The only safe way to get a reservation here is the old fashioned way: call. You also have to call when you arrive, by the way, which is how I found out our rooms were not available. Fortunately, we hadn't paid any money up front, so there was no loss, except for our future business (and gain for the Budget Inn up the road).
- Denise (6/5): - Price was nice
- Sara (1/5): NEVER AGAIN - Nothing It was nasty
- Richard (4/5): You can probably do better. - Cheap, but you get what you pay for. Bathroom is terribly dated and smelled a bit weird. Sheets were clean enough. Amenities are at a minimum.
- Jason (1/5): - Nothing horrible staff people openly doing and selling drugs Everything. If i could give it negative 5 stars i would
- Wagner (10/5): -
- Wuest (3/5): Poor - For older motel not too bad. Big bath room has microwave and fridge in room Paid for king got full size bed could of been a queen but don't think so. Curtains were part sheers so light came in very early
- David (2/5): - We went into the room after paying for it and the bedspread looked messy so I pulled it back the sheets were all wrinkled and there was actual dirt on the sheet and laying on the sheet like it could be brushed off, the remote for the TV was also in there so obviously the bed had never been made up and the sheets were very dirty. The clerk said she could wash the sheets for us and I said maybe we could air out the room so she says go ahead and open the window. I went to open the window and the glass was broken out of the window in about a 24 inch diameter, easy enough for someone to crawl in. We asked her for our money back and we left and found a different hotel. We went to the Baymont motel and as soon as we told him that we didn't have a reservation because we were going to stay somewhere else, they knew immediately that it was the tarragon Motel. So obviously there have been other complaints about that Motel
- Billiejo (2/5): - Horrible
- Robert (3/5): Read the other reviews. You get what you pay for. Stay at the Marinette Inn. It's better. - The staff was very kind. The property is very outdated.
Definitely needs a handy man at the very least.
Looks like the building is solid. It would be best to gut the place and start with all new materials.
- Amanda (1/5): Most disgusting place I ever stepped foot in. We ended up leaving after 40 mins of getting there -
- Daniel (2/5): - Im pretty low maintenance, I'm very comfortable in sketchy places, but if theres one thing anyone expects, its fresh sheets for a one night stay. Zero stars. Not worth the low price. Please delist this from expedia. The negative reviews are accurate, dont doubt them. The sponge mat of mystery history in the shower certainly discourages a bath. I did stay dry, there was hot water, the mini fridge did work, I did sleep, and the floor was falling apart. I left before first light to reduce exposure time to the residents. Spend the extra dollar, dont stay here. Its terrible.
- Verified traveler (8/5): a good stay - the people were nice and friendly. location had good access.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - I liked everything No dislikes
- Jerry (1/5): Bad -
- Deshawn (10/5): - Good
- Deshawn (10/5): - Good
- Deshawn (10/5): - Good
- Haylie (2/5): - We checked in around 8pm on a Friday, we were planning to stay two nights. The room we got into was disgusting. Sheets were not changed- filled with crumbs and other things I’m not sure of. The towels smelt and seemed as if they were just hung to dry from the last use and refolded. The three toilet paper rolls on the back of toilet were once soaked. Within ten minutes of being in our room someone came and rattled the knob twice. We found a moldy burger and left over beer in the fridge- seems nothing was looked over after the last occupants left. When asking for a refund, not even for the whole weekend at least one night, i was told no and given no probable reason. When we decided to leave to find a new hotel, it was around 9pm- not even an hour later. We waited at the door for half an hour and the only way I got ahold of the lady was by calling and she told me to leave the key in our room and leave it unlocked. The two stars for staff was because she was nice when we first came in. Definitely wish I read the reviews before booking because they’re all accurate. This place has potential, just clearly lazy staff.
- Kathleen (2/5): I wouldn't stay there again if it were half priced! - The location. It was between Peshtigo and Marinette, which was perfect for this particular trip. Office smelled like a musty basement and was dirty. The room did not appear to be clean. No top sheet -- only an ill-fitting bottom sheet and old blanket. Pillows are years old. One dim light to light up the room.
- Io (5/5): Passable -
- Arunas (1/5): This property should be closed for renovation. -
- Terrence (10/5): Greatest - Greatest
- Jacquelynn (10/5): Came for work - The room was clean, she had new fresh towels and linens in there. Well maintained rooms. Quiet Quiet but close to things. Privacy and cleanliness
- Lyle (6/5): - There was food left in the fridge and the freezer section needed to be cleared of ice.
The bathroom had no toilet paper. The towels and washcloths were stained, damp and smelled musty.
The bedding was also damp. I went to a Dollar Store and purchased my own pillow cases and I slept in a sleeping bag that I had with me.
- Krissi (2/5): - Sucked, dirty bed sheets, filthy room
- Halyna (2/5): - They have not even changed the sheets. The smell in the room was horrible. And the bathtub was all rusty, so no shower at all. It was a horrific experience.
- Kevin (2/5): - Nothing...it was aweful. The sheets were not changed from last guy. In fact was no top sheet at all. Was no toilet paper paper in the room. Tub was so bad i wouldnt step in without flipflops
- Jan (1/5): Horrible place don’t waste your time or money. - Nothing was a horrible run down place No shower at all didn’t work. The tub didn’t drain. Blood on some walls from squished bugs. No internet WiFi. Bums live there. We checked out early and tried to cancel our trip and they wouldn’t honor our cancellation.
- Anderson (1/5): Bad - Nothing Nothing
- Nate (2/5): Very poor -
- Coralina (1/5): Bad - Nothing I made a reservation through Booking. They charged me for the reservation and when I arrived at the hotel the person in charge told me that they had no room available.
- Michelle (7/5): Good - Leah and Cory are amazing. And help to the best of their ability. Water in the rooms are not very hot. More like cold showers.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It had very strong odors, ( not a clean smell) cigarettes/ dirty
- Markobrad (7/5): My choice stay when fishing walleye run - Great value and room to park boat close to room and electrical outlet Cleanliness of kitchen facilities. Made sandwiches in room
- Michelle (7/5): Good -
- Sirens (2/5): - Worst hotel I have EVER booked. Filthy, bedbugs, dilapidated. This establishment shouldn’t even be listed on Expedia. Owner refused to refund me, did not stay, slept in my car, had to wash everything I owned. ZERO STARS
- Cindy (6/5): - It was ok
- Fratt (8/5): Great - The rooms are beautiful, needs better pillows and it's very quiet. The hot water really sucked. Barely hot water and pillows were flat
- Betty (6/5): - Dirty room had to wear socks. No top sheet. Window doesn't lock.
- Sandra (4/5): - There was no way to lock the window in the room. The door had a broken latch lock. Didn't feel safe leaving anything valuable in the room. The bathtub was disgusting. The room needs a total deep clean. The parking lot was unsafe because it wasn't salted for the snow and ice. Wouldn't recommend staying there.
- James (4/5): Disappointing -
- Donald (1/5): Bad - Bathrooms not clean.
- Warren (7/5): As expected, clean, will stay there again - Reasonable cost No opinion
- Slupecki (7/5): Good - Comfortable No HOT WATER
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disappointing - I was charged more than agreed upon with Hotels.com. They cancelled my reservation. Door didn’t lock. Had not been cleaned well in a while. Train went by twice a night blaring horn. Step back time about 70 years.
- Andrea (2/5): - My bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. There was a layer of dirt on all furniture. The floor at dust along all the edges. Luckily the sheets looked clean. Needless to say I didn’t use the bathroom at all, and kept my shoes right by my bed so I wasn’t stepping in the floor.
- James (2/5): Don do it. - Staff was friendly but it was the filthiest most run down motel I've ever stayed at. And I'm 61 yrs old.
I showered in flipflops. Never took shoes off. I washed the sheets on 1 bed so I could set my bags on it.
And I slept in my truck. Was stuck there because I was out of DOT hours and couldn't move the truck for 34 hours.
- Marquez (8/5): Very good -
- Shanachapman85 (5/5): The worst - Everything else, the bathroom toilet was still dirty with feces on it. I had to clean it. There was no toilet paper i had to all for it and wait 30 min to get it. There was no bath mat for the shower. There was no cover sheet only a fitted and a blanket. The police had to show up for a customer. Honestly it wasn't even worth the 50$ a night i spent.
- teresasN5720IL (2/5): Don't go here unless you're desperate. - Two positives: the bed was comfortable and the shower was okay. Negatives: it was filthy: old socks in a corner, sticky floor, no top sheet (a comforter with questionable cleanliness), stains in the shower and toilet. The refrigerator leaked, the lock didn't feel secure, we had one flat pillow on a king sized bed, and when we asked for more, they only had two, and they were in pretty bad shape.
- PatE640 (2/5): No One to Check us in! We had Reservations! Tried at 3, 5 and 6 p.m. Terrible Way to Run a Business! - Rented a room here but no one in the office to check us in the three times we tried. Finally made reservations elsewhere. Will try to get our prepayment back. What motel has no one to check people in at 3, 5 and 6. Do not trust them!!!!
- Eric (6/5): Pleasant - None
- Joseph H (8/5): - Everything about its visual appeal is substandard. The room also has an unpleasant odor. People are nice.
- Jeremy (1/5): Absolutely horrible - Lost my reservation and was hard to get a nother with something going on
- Slupecki (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jason (3/5): Poor -
- Bailey (1/5): Very very Dirty. So disgusting I would not let my dogs stay there! - No breakfast or coffee! The room had cigarette butts on window ledge, trash in garbage, dirt across the floors and sandy dirty sheets. The lady running the place came out in a moo moo. Very bad place!
- Johnnie (3/5): I stay for 4 days & I ask refund they call y'all for the refund - They don't have breakfast I don't stay the full 9 days and y'all the customer service gave me the run around.
- William (6/5): - There is a power outlet outside most of the room and a good place to eat next door.
- Karleen (4/5): - Just disappointing
- Cruz (7/5): Good -
- Vivian (1/5): Bad - Nothing. The first 2 rooms were full of trash, beds unmade, and utterly disgusting. Even after I was told the room was just cleaned, there was fast food trash left on the counter. There was no working TV and no towels.
- Christina (8/5): - The front desk woman was very nice and willing to help us with anything. I hope you get your computer working!
- Wendy (8/5): -
Personnel was awesome. beds were comfortable. TV operation left lots to be desired. but we did what we had to do.
Easy to get to.
- Arthur (1/5): gross - Parking next to door. Staff was friendly. the room had power cords all over. Dirty. Hole in bathroom door. Three different color curtains. Water coming from mini fridge on the floor. The staff couldn't find reservation.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Would not suggest - The room had a horrible smell. The manager tried to help by putting in air fresheners. After a day or so it helped a little but was still disgusting. I am glad I only had to shower and sleep there. The second room we had smelled musty but was no where near the smell of the room I was in.
- Boqi (2/5): - We waited for half an hour at night before someone showed up.
- Jon (2/5): - There was nobody there so i couldnt check in and had to sleep in my car
- Wayne (6/5): Disappointed vacation stay - The motel is in rundown condition showing lots of wear and tear. It was not what I expected. Hotels.com said it was 20 miles from Sturgeon Bay but that is only if you take a boat across the bay! Driving takes nearly 100 miles out of the way!
- Charles (2/5): - Was woken up at nearly midnight because the receptionist didnt enter my card info correctly and accused me of using a card that wasnt allowed. Nearly kicked the door off the hinges and yelling at me through the door. 0/10, would not recommend
- Sarah (4/5): Room 15 - The power strip that had the frig, lamp, tv and cable box didn’t work, so I had to rearrange everything to get the frig and tv working. The bathroom had shampoo but no soap and very few towels. The first key I was given didn’t work so I had to walk back over to the office. The lady working was super polite one side of the bed had a row of springs or something that was uncomfortable so I slept on the other side. I enjoyed the hard surface floors instead of nasty carpet like most hotels/motels has. Will stay again but would ask not to be in room 15.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Think twice - Lets just say for their sake i hope the hotel is under renovation. They did give us a room when our other hotel fell through. The came over after midnight to check us in and accomodated our 2 dogs. However the pet fee is non refundable even if your pets do no damage. Now down to facts. This is an extended stay motel so there are people that live there. We were informed when we checked in that there was no hot water but they were going to be working on it. Friday night we had cold water. Saturday morning we were unable to shower but went on about our daily activities. When we returned saturday night there was NO water. As we were leaving they were replacing the water heater. No mention was made of a reduced rate for cold/no water. I greatly appreciated the fact that they were able to accomodate us, but why are we paying full price for a room missing a necessary ammenity? The rooms need a thorough cleaning and updating. None of the bedding matched or would stay on the bed for that matter. The flooring had a 1" gap in it and trim was missing. My last takeaway is if you want to feel like youre staying at a place that is straight out of a creepy movie this is your place. Cheapest around by far...
- Connie M (10/5): Worked great - They moved us 3 miles down the road because they were full.
- Karen (4/5): - We were traveling and got in late. The office was closed with a note and a phone number to call. After 30 minutes waiting outside, they called me back and said they did not have my reservation or any rooms available. I was sent to a second location, did not get the room requested. The linens were outdated and the pillows were old and flat. They blamed Hotels.com for the reservation mixup. The desk clerk was friendly at checkout. It was just ok. Not great.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst place ever! - Worst place I’ve been to in my life! They still have my license and say they don’t have it! I know for a fact all he handed me was my receipt. Never said here is your license back.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was not much to like. I should have gone 2 miles further and actually stayed in decent properties in Marinette or Menominee.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room we had was bad. We were supposed to get a king size bed but we got a double bed.
- Janet (8/5): You get what you pay for - The room looked nice upon arrival. There is a refrigerator (this one had a lot of water in it so we qere concerned it may not work, but it was fine) and microwave, which are always a binus to us. The main part of the room seemed clean but the edges aopeared not to be cleaned in a while.
The room had a vinyl floor that was popping up a little and the bathroom needed updated. The desk clerk was super friendly and although not well lit the area around seemed quiet No frills but an ok place for a decent price.
- Philip (4/5): Won’t return - Extremely noisy during night. Neighbor blasted hip hop music at midnight for 10 minutes. Then, train rolled through blaring its horn, so close it felt like the train was next to us.
- Randy (2/5): Choose anywhere else. - Choose anywhere else. We love staying at locally owned motels and have many we have recommended. This is the worst room that I have ever booked. The bathroom was disgusting and very obviously hadn't been cleaned. The non-smoking room reeked of smoke. My husband was fuming over his conversation with the deak staff when he informed them that we were leaving. I honestly can't give any positive aspects of this establishment. Luckily for us there were much better options in town, where we did stay.
- Mindy (2/5): - We did not stay there because it was so bad. We ended up finding another place that was cleaner. Also, we reserved a room with 2 queen beds. When we got there about 3:00pm they said they did not have a queen room available.
- Verified traveler (6/5): okay stay - It was good for the price, but had dirt in corners and dust on the dresser. Staff was friendly.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Kids running everywhere without shoes all hpurs of the day. People's belongings all over the place. No curtains on the windows. Looked like blood on the walls and dirty as heck!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Not very clean. Also, this is likely an Expedia issue, but there is an extra pet fee onsite.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My stay was enjoyable and had no issues peace and quiet easy access to everything around.
- Dannyvseventeen (2/5): They gave my room away - I arrived to get my key and lady told me from phone that there were no more rooms. I booked for Oct 8th for the 24th. I had to go and find somewhere else to sleep. I also pre paid online. No refund...
- Rachael (4/5): Eww - I had low expectations for a $55 room....just not low enough. I expected the lingering stink from years of smoking in the room. I knew it would not be a top of the line mattress & that there would be no amenities. However, I was not prepared for how run down & dirty the motel is. Questionable everything. The walls are gross. The collection of grime & hairs all over the bathroom is gross. No flat sheet on the bed - just an old striped fitted sheet & old cheap comforter. It was fairly quiet though, decent cable channels & there was a fridge & microwave in the room. If you just need a place to sleep, bring your own pillow and sleeping bag & this place should work
- SOPgrunt (4/5): Not Impressed - Reservation never made it to the manager. Room wasn't ready at 8:30pm. Room was dirty/dark. Wifi didn't work. Door was loose/see air through the door. Room smelled of cigarettes. 10 vehicles out front, 6 people staying there. Need to replace the many burnt out light bulbs outside of each room so it stops looking like a horror movie set. I personally wouldn't leave ANYTHING inside my vehicle at night. Really disappointed...
- Timothy (6/5): Yuck - Our tub and toilet was nasty room only had 2 towels and two washcloths...and all night all I heard was this 4wheeler riding around all night til I got outta bed at 8!!!
- Lyssa (10/5): quiet off the highway motel - its your run of the mill side motel. it was super quiet which surprised me and had a really impressive tv channel selection
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My pleasant stay started and ended with the manager Nick. While the hotel was a bit agedHey , I felt I got what I paid for with the high speed internet and then a good nights sleep. Nick made most of this possible by making sure that my room was ready (early even) and that coffee was always prepared. He assured me that things are getting better around the property and he was right. It was quiet, peaceful, and did what I needed it do.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nobody was there to check us in, besides a unknowlegable maintenance kid. We reserved a king room but he was going to put us in a double queen at first but while we were away for a bit he made us a room with a king bed, which was like sleeping on rocks and hardly slept. And had to wait for checkout because only the maintenance was there, the front desk person had to be woke up upstairs to do a proper checkout.
