• susan (4/5): Was disappointed - That there plenty of cooking facilities There was no TV so in the evening being on my own was very boring when I ask why no TV in common room was told it was the TV license in such a large accommodation I find that pathetic
• Claire (8/5): - The rooms and breakout area were very clean and all essentials were provided. The whole site was very secure. Check in and Check out were very smooth and staff were friendly. The beds could have done with a new mattress is my only criticism.

• Lucy (5/5): OK - Great location, perfect for the passport office!! Also nice walk along the river just outside the accommodation. Staff were really friendly and helpful especially the guy on check in, he was great. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on, could feel the springs in the mattress. I went to use a glass in the shared kitchen and they were all filthy. I don't think you can rely on other people cleaning things. Also not enough washing up liquid, tea towel looked like it had never been washed etc etc. But at the end of the day it was cheap so what can I expect..

• JW60 (10/5): - Great value for money, I have stayed a few times over the years. Always my go to place in Newport. It is quite a walk to train station, I walk everywhere anyway. There's a good bus service and the bus station is a short walk down the road. Lidl opposite, a short walk away, cheap food, there's a kitchen on each floor, very convenient. I can't fault it. There's always someone in reception 24hrs. Thanks Newport Student Village.

• Ishtiaq (8/5): Residence must have a code of conduct for the resident to keep quiet at night - Its very close to the town , Hospital and made my stay comfrtable. Staff very nice especially Mr John at the reception who was always very helpfull Kitchen not supplied with soap and sponge to wash utensils. Partion walls between room very thinck and not sound proof as results you can hear snoring from next room. Few people very very noisy in their room and I had to knock their door few time at night.

• Andrew (8/5): Student Accommodation You Could Spend A LOT Of Time In - It was secure, warm and the bed was comfortable The first night our door wouldn't lock... However maintenance was quick to fix it

• Anna (7/5): - I found this accomodation super convenient for me needing a cheap overnight stay in Newport. My room and bathroom were clean and the room I had was warm. I had no issues in that regard. The map doesn't direct you to the front of the building so I panicked when I was to the side, I could see into a social communal area but couldnt get in. I walked round and quickly located Reception. The staff at reception were nice but when I was given my room key, I was told to go to the 3rd floor. I climbed three flights with my suitcase (I don't like to use lifts personally due to a bit of a phobia I have with them) but my room number wasn't on the third floor. I had to go back down with said suitcase, back to reception just to learn it was on the first floor, the lady didn't seem very confident and that didn't make me feel confident either but once I found the room, it was fine. All I can say is, it's good value for money.

• Catherine (8/5): Basic but good value. Would stay again. - Reception staff super friendly and helpful. Room was basic but very spacious and clean. Couldn’t get to grips with heating but quickly sorted by reception and was given an electric one for my stay. Room was cold but that was easily sorted. Wasn’t told I needed to use fob to lock as well as unlock door. But I was the only one in my block so no biggy.

• Aleksandr (8/5): - Location within the walking distance of the city center. Wi-Fi is fast and stable. Check-in desk is opened 24/7 for various inquiries. I was initially placed into a room that hasn't been cleaned from the previous stay, with not just the trash still around but bloodstains all over the sheets. The staff moved me into another room, but the experience was still unpleasant.

• Julien (5/5): - location / price. Value for money is good overall as long as your expectations are right. Room was clean and secured with an electronic door lock so no issues leaving belonging inside. Room is decent side with a large desk. Communal kitchen was well equipped for self catering and large asda was a 5 min walk away It can be quite noisy. the walls between rooms are very thin so you can hear people talking next door. The electronic doors are quite heavy and noisy. The there was some random cracking noises from the PVC of the room ventilation i think The bed mattress felt very cheap . it might be a problem for some. I slept fine on it.

• Sean (5/5): Functional, very basic - The room was functional, there was a bed, shower, sink and desk. Bed was comfy. The room was small, there was no air con and no way to get any real air flow in the room, so it was hot and muggy all the time. with it being next to two main routes and having to keep a window open, it was just so noisy because of this with traffic. Shower was tiny and the curtain didn't cover the whole ares, so the entire bathroom would be sprayed and the drain could not keep up with the water volume, so the entire floor was under water. No hand soap of any kind supplied, sink was tiny and barely functional. The kitchen was a communal one with very little to actually cook with, so that was pointless The second night, some people decided to come back and have a full blown argument for 3hrs in the corridor, then get their friends to help out for another hour, then carry on banging and slamming things about in their room, despite being told to be quiet, so frustrating. No parking whatsoever either.
