John (10/5): Tidy friendly hotel with nice pool in go area. - Nice well maintaied hotel in the progressive part of Bassac area. Many great international restaurants and bars in the area with a progressive Japanese quarter not far away. The hotel serves very good quality european and asian meals as well. There is also a nice pool.

747jaynei (10/5): A central place to stay - I booked this hotel to stay at before and after an Intrepid trip. A clean, friendly hotel where the staff cannot do enough for you. There is even a member of staff who covers you with an umbrella when it is raining, so you don't get wet transferring from tuktuk to the hotel. Good buffet breakfast selection with fresh omelettes. Plus full coffee, bar and snacks menu plus evening dinner.
beachbumAlberta (6/5): Nice location but very noisy - Pros: the location was good, breakfast was good, service was okay. Could do better: it was nice to have a pool but I cleaned out the leaves every time I went in. Some of the pool chairs were broken. The room was fine except the walls were very thin so lots of outside and inside noise. I don’t think I would recommend this hotel to others. We travelled for 5 weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia and this was the only hotel I wasn’t enthralled with.

Giov63 (8/5): Good in general - Overall, it was good. The room was clean and spacious, the pool is nice and clean, staff is very nice and breakfast is great. The only disappointment is that we were supposed to have a de luxe room with balcony. They gave us instead a double, so bigger, but with no windows. When I asked they said they were out of rooms with balcony. They showed us one, but the balcony was minuscule and facing an ugly wall 30 cm away. It happens a bit too often that we don’t get what we reserved… but otherwise, this hotel is good. And location is great.

The breakfast buffet was nice, but lacked much variety. The coffee was very good. Nice restaurant in hotel, open late. The area had lots of restaurants and a few shops, but a huge demolition, of an old building, right behind the hotel, was worrisome as potential toxins in the air from old building debris and dust.

This hotel is in a great location and has easy access to taxis and tuk tuks. The staff were nice. On the negative. The windows in our room looked out towards a wall. We did not open the curtains the whole time we were there. So if you are booking this hotel check into the room you may get. we didnt spend much time in the room so it wasn't a big issue, But when we checked in the staff told us we were getting an upgraded room at no additional cost. So, I am not sure what the non-upgraded room would be like. The rooms are basic.

Like many hotels after COVID, is difficult to recover and invest in renuewing equipment , but even the furniture might look little bit old is not affecting the quality and comfort. The swimming pool is perfect to get fresh and relaxed after a long day. Has also elevator, wifi, complimentary water and coffee in the room. Hot water in the shower, big bathroom. Excellent location close to many restaurants, convention center is 7min drive. Great value

The security guy at the front of the hotel was always sitting down on his phone, ignoring not taking any notice or anything I paid a $145 US for 4 nights and down the road you can stay at the mad monkey hostel , own double room with ensuite for $ 6 a night , it was better there as I did a walking tour from there , it’s just full of young people
829zad (10/5): Highly recommended - I would highly recommend a visit to Home Chic Hotel if you want a touch of class at a reasonable price. This place has an amazing vibe with great staff who are always at the ready to provide excellent service. Their food is delicious and the swimming pool is clean, relaxing and just a joy to behold or take a dip in.

677lucd (6/5): home chic hotel: not like home and not chic - While the hotel is very convieniently located in the midst of BKK I (a major tourist quarter in Phnom Penh), and the staff is friendly enough, and prices fairly competitive, however cleanliness is a real issue (smelly towels, smoke in the room on a smokefree floor, etc) , also very noisy with all the ongoing construction in the immediate neighbourhood, and when having asked for a late checkout, because of a nightflight, we were charged a near full night/day charge (without breakfast), which was not what was agreed with the reception in the morning. With a taxi waiting and a flight to catch, there was no other feasible option, but to pay, and write this review. No more next time in HomeChic. Having stayed there altogether for quite some time we would have expected better. Luckily there are sufficient alternatives in this quarter of Phnom Penh.
TheNurse00 (8/5): Affordable and great location - We stayed here for 3 weeks while on vacation and what a gem of a place it is!! Lovely pool, surrounded by trees and has a bar and restaurant. Our buffet breakfast was included, and it has a good range of food, coffee and teas included. The bar and wait staff were amazing. Satana (Restaurant supervisor) and her team Soklen, Dolla and Clinton made us feel so at home and nothing was too much trouble for them. They went to extraordinary lengths to make sure everyone was well fed and happy. The restaurant is pretty good too and they have a large range of Asian and Western foods available. They also made great cocktails and the 3rd one is free during happy "hours". Our rooms were cleaned thoroughly and hotel itself is very clean throughout. Very safe and lots of tuk tuks outside. It is very close to quite a few bars and restaurants as well. The only issue we had was when we arrived the amount we paid wasn't in full and we had a hefty bill on checkout. Apparently they only charge a part payment for long stayers. Yes we should have checked properly too, that's jetlag for you. But we will definitely go back there.

No refund, no free breakfast....Had hostel vibes...very disappointing place and more expensive than the 4 star place we checked into the next day...the plus point were the very friendly staff
347maximeb (10/5): Best expérience in PP so far - One of the best hotels in the area. The hotel managers and the staff are welcoming and will not hesitate to advise you on your visit to Phnom Penh and Cambodia in general. The place is secure and you can leave your belongings there without bad surprises, (to avoid bad adventure during my excursions I left my passport at the reception, to tell you! ). The rooms are of the highest standard with quality bedding and clean rooms. Most hotels don't have a swimming pool but here you have a sumptuous one next to a bar that offers the best cocktails in the area. My best experience in Cambodia, I highly recommend it.

Richard (4/5): Please read as never again for me - Very disappointed with this hotel. I have never asked for a room change before but this was something different. The first room had no window neither did the second room they offered me. Finally got a room with a window only to find later the balcony door lock did not work. The fridge smelled beyond words and I told hotel but they just wiped it out. The staff are very polite but does knit make up for the hotel itself. If you want to go to Cambodia and be surrounded by tourist with western food everywhere and English speaking entertainers in the bars this could be the place for you but I would give it miss. The area was very safe and near several places of interest.

Only reason not getting 5 stars is that rooms are a little bit more tired then what they look in the photo - nothing wrong with them at all just a little tired. The best thing about this hotel is the staff - everyone was so helpful and friendly from the receptionist to the restaurant staff to the cleaner - they all knew what room you were in and asked you how your day was if you had been on a trip. Can’t fault them! All in all would recommend this hotel.
Verified traveler (8/5): Good but noisy - The hotel was very nice, the pool and bar area was kept very clean and tidy, the staff were also very friendly, helpful and attentive and helped us to book tours and a bus to our next location. The breakfast was also very good, buffet with choice and your choice of eggs made for you. The omelettes especially good. The WiFi is also good and fast. However the location where the hotel was is an issue, all around there are high rise buildings going up with lots of building wok going on, often starting quite early in the morning resulting in it being very noisy very early with drilling and other noises. Obviously this is not the hotels fault but you do get woken up so I would advise bringing earplugs. Other than that a very good hotel and very good value for money.

The staff were very helpful booking trips and things we needed. The pool area is nice and kept spotlessly clean by the very hard woring pool man and his colleagues. Breakfast was ok and maybe some more seats available at busy times would be good. For the money, this is an excellent value hotel.

Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, shame about the smoking policy - I have been travelling to Cambodia for many years for work and thought I would try somewhere different for my short trip. I chose Home Chic Hotel based on its location and positive reviews, and it did not disappoint. I was fortunate enough to be upgraded to a room at the front of the hotel with a balcony which was very nice and much appreciated. However, I noted that the smaller rooms had small windows and upon the smells emanating from one of these bedrooms as I walked past, I asked the staff if there was a no smoking policy or non-smoking rooms. To which the reply was no - people can smoke in any of the rooms. This is a concern as it would mean that the rooms will smell due to the limited ventilation and also with time. Will I stay there again? Possibly not as I will not stay in smoking rooms. The hotel is relatively new and does not have entrenched smoke stench yet but if they allow smoking in all rooms then this is inevitable. What a pity as I liked everything else about it.
Verified traveler (6/5): - Average stay Staff very money conscious first thing mentioned when checking in was that breakfast was not included, second thing is arrange tour with us. Constantly hasselled everytime you leave the hotel for tuk tuk. We booked one tour, advertised as $11 but we had to pay $15 as they had to use another company??? Was told it included pick up and drop off at hotel but when we wanted to come back we were told we had to pay more, tried to speak to reception once we finally got back only to have a language barrier. Hotel its self was ok Food average ordered a vegetarian meal only to find chunks of chicken in it again tried to advise staff of this only to be hit with the ‘language barrier’ again. Oh and clearly an ant problem which I only discovered once trying to pack my bag.
Rob (8/5): Great value - We stayed at Home Chic for a total of 4 nights, we had an enjoyable experience at the hotel. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, the room was all that you needed, with nice bathroom, room safe and was cleaned well. The hotel was in a good position with tuk tuk,s costing usually 3US to go to most places. The breakfast was excellent with a choice of both Cambodian and continental. We ate in the restaurant and found the food good and reasonable priced. The bar had Happy Hour which kept the drink at a good price. I would stay here again!
Parry (10/5): Great place - The staff here are super, very friendly and helpful. They all spoke English well and always had a smile for you. The rooms were great, clean and comfortable. Good wifi, a/c and tv. Breakfast in the morning was really good with made to order omelettes and a selection of breads, Asian food and salad. There is a lot of contruction happening around the hotel so a bit noisy. Fairly close to the waterfront, just a short tuktuk ride. Would recommend this place.

Unlike our experience across Bangkok and then Siem Reap, where the hotel staff was very helpful and helped arrange tours into the city, there was no option like that over here. They had 2 expensive choices but not guidance on how to take the TukTuk tours. On asking about the river cruise, they went ahead and booked the cruise without our confirmation or discussion. After an amazing tour, this last stop soured the taste of our wonderful trip

Kirsty (10/5): Beautiful hotel with very lovely staff :) - We stayed here for 2 nights when exploring Phnom Penh. The staff were very welcoming and always lovely, chatty and very helpful. Our room was very comfortable and had nice modern decor. The shower was very good especially after a hot day out! Would really recommend as it was great value. Walls were a little thin so we wore earplugs I think it's the same throughout most of Cambodia. There was construction opposite but it didn't bother us as we were out and about before they really started making much noise. We found it easy to walk around to sightsee or there are tuk tuks everywhere you could take too if you aren't keen on walking about in the heat.

The only problem is construction happening around the hotel, which really isn't their fault, but it does mean a lot of noise and dust. The whole city is going through a horrible build-up of ultra-tall buildings so it's quite hard to escape that...
Keith (8/5): Nice hotel in handy location - Close to the Independence Monument and surrounded by a great selection of restaurants this os a good find in a central location. Most sights are within a decent walk or a short tuk tuk ride. I was initially a little disappointed with the room as the view was non existent and I kept the curtains shut the whole time I was there. The room itself was a good size and spotlessly clean. Comfy bed, good shower and great a/c. Acceptable breakfast buffet meant I could fill up til a late lunch!
Cecilia (6/5): - The location is fantastic as it was easy access to my office. However, my room floor had a thin film of gray construction dust, it had no towels, no complementary drinking water and it looked like the room had not been cleaned for days. Although not the fault of the hotel, I was woken up at 6:45am by banging and grinding from a construction building, which is only a metre or so from the hotel building. That said, when I complained to the hotel, I got a very nice room that had non of the problems encountered in the first room
