Guest Reviews
- markus (9/5): Prima -
- Alun (8/5): - Exactly as described. Very small room, perfectly ok for 1 night stay.
Self check in was straightforward forwards, following the instructions provided.
- Louise (7/5): Very basic room but clean and comfortable. - Location is excellent. Fan in the bathroom drove me nuts and no wifi password posted anywhere.
- Olivia (8/5): Excellent stay prior to cruise - Clean and welcoming Stairs
- Eve (10/5): Great small B & B at very good value - This is a small B & B in the centre of Southampton. Offering exceptional value the owner Baz was very helpful and accommodating. Bedroom spacious and functional with separate WC and shower. Car parking also available a definite plus. If looking for somewhere very reasonable clean and quiet, with nothing fancy then would recommend and we would use again if in the area. Nothing

- Adrian (7/5): Good - Good place, rooms are more basic than comfortable but the place is well located. Room only, parking is good and good for getting into town. No one to speak to about getting wifi. You ned the info on check in.
Plugs not positioned well, needed a fan in the room, gets warm. Basic but that's OK.
- Ian (8/5): Very good - The manager purchased a new iron when the existing wasn't immediately located.
Quiet location easy walking distance from the city.
- Lorena (8/5): Great for one night. - Property was basic but very clean & the beds were comfortable and great for a one night stay. Location slightly further out than I realised. It was a little noisy during the night & there was no mirror in the bedroom only in the en-suite .
Minor inconveniences really.

- Carl (10/5): Lovely B&B in the Southampton area. - The host was very helpful and friendly and gave me good information about the local area. I arrived in Southampton in the morning after a long drive, my room was already ready so i the host said i could check in. When I checked out, I left my retainer in the bathroom and he kindly sent it back to be the following day. I offered to pay for the delivery, but he said he was happy to the cover the cost. 10/10 👍🏻 Nothing to dislike.
- Lee (4/5): No front desk ! - Staff were extremely friendly and the place was lovely and clean No front desk you have to call someone to come even to get in which takes 30 mins which for me is ridiculous. Had to do this on arrival and of course no battery’s in tv remote so just what I needed after he left I certainly didn’t have the heart to call him to come all the way back and at that time of night couldn’t even go and get
- Sharon (1/5): Dreadful - Nothing. Dreadful. Broken dangerous furniture damaged room, rips and holes BLOOD and fluids on pillows, stains. Elderly guest on their own offered noisy lower room or this in top floor upon already arriving.
Reported before we left. Had to dispute & refund refused. Threatened further action and now being BRIBED a nights refund to remove review.
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phil (6/5): Pleasant - Location was ok, within walking distance of the train station and close to buses on Shirley Road. No breakfast available, but there were places to get a breakfast 5-10 minutes walk away. Small single room was very hot, I should have asked for the fan but didnt want one buzzing all the time.
Seemed a bit pricey all considered.
- Andrea (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (7/5): Good -
- Alex (7/5): Good - Room was better than expected for the price. The food in the pig & whistle is exceptional. Long way from where I was working.
- Paul (8/5): Very good - The room was as described and located on a quiet road. The guy who met me was very friendly and let me leave my car in the carpark the next day while I went to an event with a friend. The room was very hot and it was only the next morning that we discovered the radiator was on. It couldn't be turned off though as the TRV head was missing?
- Patrick (8/5): Very comfortable. - Very accommodating and welcoming host. The television remote didn't work very well.
- Williams (8/5): Very good - I had a very pleasant stay. The bedroom was comfortable -particularly the bed- and the room was nice and clean. It was quiet so I slept well. It was good value for money and the location well placed for access to the city and the university. There's also a Co-op conveniently close.
- Yuan (3/5): Poor service, not worth for the money. -
- Reza (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (7/5): Good -
- Stuart (9/5): Superb -
- Tony (5/5): Passable -
- Ulep (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional - The host was nothing more than hospitable and very accommodating very plz No breakfast
- Sara (3/5): Not good - there was cabbage smell throughout the house and a mouldy smell in my bedroom. The walls were so thin that I couldn't sleep most of the night because I could hear everything in the neighbouring rooms.
- Andy (7/5): Pretty much as expected. - Key collection worked smoothly.
There was ample parking available.
Convenient for food outlets/shopping supplies. There was an unknown elderly gentleman who seemed to spend much of the time occupying the 1st Floor landing.
The remote control for the TV needs new batteries, and the signal for the TV is very patchy.
- Vicki (7/5): Good - Owner very helpful
- Kay (9/5): Superb - The owner went out of the way to help, even to the extent of taking us to the port
- Michael (5/5): If you are on your own and need accommodation for the night , in central location then this will do - it was ok. double bed would have been nice
- Daniel (8/5): Very good - It was a great location for me The room was small and smelly
- Dale (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location Na
- Julie (7/5): One night stay. - Car park was good. It was clean and the member of staff we saw was polite and friendly. The mattress wasn't great, past its best I would say. Expensive for room only.
- Mary (8/5): Just what I required - The room was very clean, wifi worked well, good coffee and biscuits. I slept very well.
- Irene (10/5): Value for money - Good price. Clean and comfortable room. Manager very helpful.

- Hibbert (9/5): Awesoe - Excellent helpful staff. Would highly recommend
- Ray (10/5): Very nice B&B close to City and local amenities. - Room was clean, and met my expectations. No Breakfast provided but Complimentary Cereal, croisant and toast with tea, coffee and fruit Juice. I found this to be exceptional. Single Bed (don't normally do single beds). But took what was avilable.

- Patricia (7/5): Good -
- Guy (8/5): Provided everything I needed for a one night stay. Very comfortable. - An adequate and well organised guest house in a good location that was walking distance from both the train station and cruise terminal.
- Robert (1/5): depressing and horrible. worst place I have ever experienced and a costly rip off. - nothing We arrived a the property but it was unbelievably awful so we left and found an alternative place to stay. It's hard to describe how bad it was, just so nasty. Someone was smoking drugs outside and inside the whole place smelt terrible. The room was tiny, the building was really run down and dirty. It was so upsetting, my wife was scared and crying. If it was cheap we would understand that you get what you pay for, but it wasn't cheap at £135. we found a lovely 4 star spar hotel nearby for £93. We have asked for a refund and are still waiting.

- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Debra (8/5): Very good -
- Andra (10/5): great choice to rent for a weekend away in Southampton - I like the room. it said it’s a single bedroom but the bed itself was bigger than the standard London single bed. the entire corridor smelled fresh and looked clean. I like the fact that the shower wasn’t in the room because that gave the room a fresh air. The bed has fresh linens with two pillows and a comfy duvet. I didn’t hear any noise coming from the other rooms or outside which was great. I met the staff at reception who was really welcoming and then the lady who did the bed and changed the bin in my room. both were really nice. I was happy that the property location was 3 minutes away from the bus stop which takes you straight to pier or other areas. the bus comes often and it’s easier to use it just by using your bank card tap in and then tap out. N/A
- Tamzen (7/5): Good value for 1 night stay near the port - Positives-free parking onsite, good location for Westgate shoppping centre or the port, nice pizza restaurant and a co-op we’re just a few mins walk away, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room had tea/coffee, a desk and chair and en-suite so we had everything we needed apart from a fridge. For the price, it was worth staying so we didn’t have to stress about making the cruise on time the next day. The room could do with a little update, there’s no communal lounge area, no lift so we had to carry our suitcases up a few flights of station arrival as we checked in after reception left. The local area is a bit run down
- Deborah (8/5): Cute & Quiet-Great Staff! - Very quiet neighborhood, but within walking distance of pubs, restaurants, & stores. Room was small, but very cute & clean. Staff was friendly & very helpful. Warning-no lift
Bed not the most comfortable
- Lisa (8/5): Did the job for a reasonable price. - The room was clean, access is easy late at night, plugs by bed always a bonus :D Bathroom is meant to be shared but due to Covid each room has been allocated it own bathroom which in my case was just round the corner from room. I only stayed the one night, visiting for a Euro match, and this was within easy walking distance of the city centre and St Marys. Parking at back of premises felt more secure than street parking. Furniture and décor is dated but it's functional. the bed/mattress was lumpy but didn't bother me personally. Something that can't be controlled by owners is the halfway/police house a few doors away, on a warm night with the window open i was entertained until 1am with some sort of disagreement going on. Didn't stop me sleeping as noise doesn't bother me but be aware this is a possibility if you stay...and don't complain after if it's been a problem for you.
