Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): - This place has been around since I was a young boy (now mid70's). It has been updated, clean and comfortable. New mini-split provides wonderful/quiet temperature control. With only a couple of places to stay in Owosso I feel good about recommending the Pines.
- Dale (10/5): - Was happy with the room, check in and closeness to my destination
- James (8/5): - Then staff was friendly, the room was very clean
- William (10/5): - Nice clean room
- Karen (10/5): - No comment
- Nanette (6/5): - Loud party next door woke us up
Don’t like to complain but we were unable to sleep
- Desi (8/5): - Cons
No elevator
Fire extinguisher had a 2016 service tag
- Amanda (10/5): - Great
- Kathleen (10/5): Don't judge a book by its cover! - From the outside, there is little fanfare, but the room was no different than one from a Mariott.
- MAI (8/5): - The property seemed iffy pulling up to the check in office, but the actual room turned out be clean and quiet. The housekeeping made bed and changed towels daily. Fridge in room. No frills place mainly just to go and sleep. We felt safe.
- Judith (10/5): - The property seem to be brand new. Everything in the room was absolutely spotless and comfortable. The bed was amazing. The bathroom has a wet room. So easy to get in and out of the shower. Excellent lighting. All amenities were wonderful. I would definitely go back. The exterior of the property has a fire pit in a cozy little setting of pine trees. And it's located right next to a Shell gas station which was convenient to hit the road the day that I left.
- Deborah (10/5): - The hotel has been newly renovated and has some charming quirks but with beautiful new facilities. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. The bathroom was completely new with lots of counter space. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Highly recommend!
- Alexander (10/5): - Conveniently located for us, clean room with everything we needed, plenty of counter and mirror in the bathroom is a plus!
- Da J (10/5): - nice clean property I came in late but the staffs was understanding and friendly
- Sarah (10/5): Clean & Comfy - We were in town for softball tournament and it was very clean, comfortable, and service was great. Air conditioning worked great and the shower pressure was nice to have after a long by cold day on the field.
- Brittany (8/5): - Theyre great people and very nicely and quietly
- Michele (10/5): Good place to stay - Very quaint hotel. Clean and wonderful staff
- Leah (8/5): Good stay. - It was pet friendly, so hearing a barking dog wasn't ideal. But the room was nice and clean.
- Lydia (10/5): - Very hard to find its kinda behind a gas station
- Thomas (8/5): - We've stayed here many times when in town for family occasions. It is a family-owned, older hotel that was remodeled in 2021. It is a very clean property in a safe, convenient location with restaurants and Supercenter stores nearby. It's very convenient to our family's residences, too. The rooms do have the older, connecting doors, however, they are blocked off and can't be accessed by the adjoining room, so it is safe. The only problem is if the occupants next door are loud, you can easily hear them. We've had an issue with this a couple times. We did let management know and they addressed the issue with the occupants and it was quieter after that. Just be aware you do have to be careful not to be too loud and disturb others at the property. We will continue to stay at this property in town, as it is a nice property that's very clean and convenient.
- Barry (10/5): - Liked convenient nothing that I didn't like
- Michelle (10/5): - Clean quiet hotel. Staff is great to do business with.
- KEVIN (10/5): - Very quiet. Clean room. Friendly staff.
- Kristen (10/5): - Great quiet place. Private & unique. Beats chain motels
- Rena (10/5): - I always enjoy my stay here because it is so clean and cozy.
- Kelly (10/5): - I had a great stay. The staff is very friendly. The room is nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. I would stay here again if I come back.
- Monica (10/5): - We loved it
- sherry (10/5): - The Pines looks ordinary on the outside, but the rooms were spacious, comfortable and well maintained. Bed and linens were very comfortable.
- MARK (10/5): - NA
- michael (8/5): - www
- Jackie (10/5): - Was as expected. Friendly staff
- Gloria (8/5): - Satisfactory. Need to provide more amenities such as hand lotion. Overall, the room appeared clean & well-maintained. The cleaning staff was friendly & provided clean towels & coffee for next morning as requested.
- Paul (10/5): Nicely Updated - Older building makes it deceiving. Room was well appointed and updated with all the necessities. Definitely fit our need and exceeded our expectation. Especially liked the enclosed two story portion of the existing walkways, made it easy and secure to go back and forth from the elements.
- louis e (6/5): - Arrived at 9:04 in the dark. . Got our key from lockbox. Couldn’t find our room. No visible sign pointing to a building across the parking lot and behind the main building. After driving through the main lot, behind the motel, back on the street and back into the lot we saw a building that we wondered about. We drove to it and saw our room number. Entered the hallway and the smell was awful. If it hadn’t been for a sick spouse we may have left. Entered our room which was fine. Clean. The next morning around 9:30 we went to check out and although the sign said they were there at 8 we saw nobody. It was strange! Oh, and it is certainly not in the country!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Will stay again. - Very nice clean comfortable place to stay. Good neighbor. Will definitely stay next year.
- Dennis (8/5): - Was in a convenient location.
- Talya (8/5): - Nice place for my family to stay for one night at a great price.
- Buffy (10/5): - I enjoyed the small town feel. The rooms were incredibly clean & neat. The beds were extremely comfortable.
- Jeanne (10/5): - Very clean-friendly staff. Good location.
- Ann (10/5): - Wondering place to stay, great staff, quiet, has nice gazebo with fire pit. Just all around nice.
- Vanessa (10/5): - I was truly impressed with this hotel.i didn't know the office closed at 9pm the clerk reached out to me and was able to get me the keys after
hours. Very wonderfulIto talk to. The hospitality, the pricing and just over all the quality of the room itself. Definitely will visit again in the future. The only complaint I have is that there should be more branches and to expand. Very satisfied
- Mike (10/5): Cute, Quaint Hotel off M-21 - This is a very cute and quaint hotel right off of M-21. My wife and I came to Owosso for a wedding and decided to stay here. The room was extremely clean, king bed was comfy. Pillows were a little odd, they were square, vs. your typical rectangle. They served their purpose and were very comfy. Bathroom/shower extremely clean as well. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. WiFi was great, zero complaints. If you come to Owosso, MI and need a place to stay, I recommend this motel. It is all one floor.
- Lyndie (8/5): - Convenient location to the Owosso Motorsports Speedway. Secure with cameras and doors that require key cards. Rooms are well kept.
- Amanda (10/5): - Great spot for an overnight trip
- Rosemarie (10/5): - The check in person was so nice and stayed late for us to be able to check in personally.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Good place to stay - The room was very clean and comfortable.
- Jane (8/5): - It was close to lots of stores and I felt very secure.
- Joy (10/5): Excellent!!! - Very clean neat hotel. Very quiet. Just what we needed for trip to visit family.
- Laura (10/5): - Staff very friendly. Room was immaculate. Would definitely stay there again.
- Joseph (8/5): Clean room for an overnight stay. - Owosso has limited options for an overnight stay. We have stayed at The Comstock previously and decided to stay at The Pines this time. The rate was reasonable and the room was clean. The bed was decent, but the pillows were not great. We brought our own just in case. The one downside of the room (we stayed in the two story building) was that the curtains and blinds did not block the sun well at all. Bring a sleeping mask or you will wake up at sunrise.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Perfect place to stay, nothing super fancy. Beds are comfy and AC worked well.
- Dawn (10/5): - This is our favorite place to stay when in town for a July horse show, clean and convenient.
- Anne (8/5): - The Pines was a good place to stay. No complaints except that the bed was too hard. Everything else was great.
- Susan (6/5): - It would be nice if they had breakfast and a hot tub
- Tara (8/5): - Clean. Safe.
- Cam (10/5): - Very nice room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was all about busi ess and taking care of a person from leg sugery.
- Jodie (8/5): - N/a
- Ruth (10/5): - Love the staff, hotel, room, everything. It was a wonderful stay and we will be back again!!!
- Sara (10/5): - Stay in my favorite room. Minutes away from doctor's
- Rachelle (10/5): - Great stay, easy check in and check out. Quiet and price was very reasonable!
- Barbara (8/5): - The staff was friendly the room was clean and smelled fresh
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place was nice and clean. The staff was exclent as well.
It would be nice if they would think about a pool for the visitors.
- Douglas (8/5): - Wonderful surprise finding this quiet, well maintained, clean, safe Motel. Location is a challenge but the advantages outweigh this negative.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - unfortunately we had to cut our trip short and couldn’t stay the duration of our reservation, but the room was very clean and the staff was SO friendly and lovely!
- Denis (8/5): - convenient
- Paula (10/5): - The room was very clean. The area was quiet throughout the night. Pretty gazebo. Pleasant staff.
- Jason (10/5): - The women at counter when I checked in was amazing. After a long day in the sun, she was a cool breeze! She engaged in conversation and made it quick and easy!
- Kathryn (10/5): - A great place
- Bonnie (6/5): - Heating when kicked on was noisy
- Amy (8/5): - Good location. Clean room. Nice shower.
- JT (10/5): Cheap great place - Very very clean will be back
- Tabatha (10/5): - Very nice room. Clean! Comfortable bed. Very friendly staff!
- Christopher (8/5): - very clean room
- Susan E. (10/5): - The staff was very professional and attentive. We were arriving late and the receptionist called to make sure we had everything we needed when we arrived. The rooms are large and very nice.
- Brandi (10/5): - Grreat staff
- mary (10/5): - It was great the staff is the best. It is a shame thst it does not have a pool. A pool would bring in alot more people so you could expan. I recommend this to all my people and use it also for our residents as well.
- John (8/5): - This is a fine motel for a short stay. Recently remodeled, clean and accessible. There are zero common areas either inside or outside. It is poorly signed off of a very busy highway. Given those challenges, it is to their credit that the ranking is so positive
- Michelle (10/5): - This property is clean quiet and convient for dining and entertainment. Was a great roadside motel very quiet and extremely well priced. Quality of the room waa great also!
- Josephine H (10/5): - Very friendly stay. Very nice for the price.
- Nichole (10/5): - It is as very quiet clean rooms
- Jodi (10/5): Extremely clean and updated rooms at fair price! - Don't let the old motel look discourage you when you register at the office! We were in the building with two floors and it was quite nice and reasonably priced. Recently updated, very clean - we would definitely stay here again and recommend to others needing a place to lay their head when in the town of Owosso. Only slight negative is you can hear everything outside of the room in the hall. There was an inconsiderate guest letting their toddler run down the hall screaming and laughing to burn off energy. It was as if we were at a public swimming pool and everything echoed. Not the hotels fault but just a heads up!
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Not real easy to spit from the street. Office oddly unadjacent to the building our room was in.
The building and our room were very nice.
TV was impossible to operate.
- Robert (10/5): - Our stay at The Pines Country Inn was excellent. The motel was quiet and rooms were updated and well appointed. The motel has exterior entrance doors which is different than many more modern hotels, but that did not take away from our visit at all. In fact, it made accessing the rooms and our vehicles more convenient as we went to and from the hotel. It is located slightly off the main road behind a gas station/convenience store but that was never a problem regarding noise. Being set off from the road made it more quiet, in my opinion. Outside of the rooms, there are few amenities at the hotel (no pool, for example) and there are no staff overnight, but the prices reflect that and there is an emergency number with quick response if there are any issues.
- Char (10/5): - Very nice.
- sharon (10/5): - Very quiet inside and outside
- Chris (8/5): - Nice especially at the price! Clean. No contact check in available. Thin walls though. We could hear the TV next door.
- Jennifer (10/5): - I was nervous about staying at a Motel but this was actually very nice. I would definitely stay here again.
- Gail (10/5): - Overall the rooms were clean and nice to stay in, although the furnishings appeared worn. The staff were very pleasant. The square pillows were incredibly hard. Spoke to the staff about the bathroom vents and lights - they needed cleaning desperately. Was told a thorough cleaning was happening soon. The door adjoining the next room had no lock so although there was no doorknob to enter the neighboring room, if the door wasn't shut properly, someone could push into your room. (My grandson proved this by pushing into his uncle's room.) This was very disconcerting for me as I was staying alone. Overall, I would recommend this property and would stay there again.
- Kate (10/5): Bowling tournament - Hotel was good, served its purpose for us. The rooms are sound proof so we were annoyed with our neighboring rooms.
- Mark (10/5): - It was fine
- sallie (10/5): - Very pleasant at the front desk and rooms were very clean. Nice quiet area.
- Andrea (10/5): Great place to stay - Everything was great. It was our first time in Owosso. I will definitely be back. Everyone made me deel like I was a resident not a visitor. Thank you.
- Curtis (10/5): - Staff was super friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable.
- Karla J (10/5): - The room was very nice. I LOVED the bathroom. It was spacious enough for 2 women to get ready at once. Very accommodating for the time of our arrival. Very pleased with this establishment.
- Gary (10/5): - Great!
- mark (8/5): - The rooms were super clean and new. A bit oddly detached. Nice and unique I'd say overall in a good way.
- Richard (10/5): - exterior is plain and ordinary looking, but the interior is squeaky clean and very well appointed
- David (10/5): - Nice clean rooms here.
- Claudia (10/5): - Everything was great
