It really is so exquisite and brings you back in time in the best way possible. - The location - faces the chateau and has a beautiful view. - One of the owners (two brothers) was so kind in welcoming me and being so hospitable and thoughtful. He explained that his grandfather bought the hotel in the 1930's. It was then passed to his father and now to him and his brother. - The well-apportioned room was impeccable with a beautiful view of the chateau. - The breakfast was very much worthwhile in a lovely dining area. Highly recommend all around!
- Judith (10/5): Wonderful hotel in the center of Fontainebleau. - My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our state at Hotel de Londres. The hotel has a lot of character, with history that includes a a connection to the poet Proust. It’s in a great location in the center of town, literally across the street from the Chateau de Fontainebleau, and in close proximity to lots of nice restaurants. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was particularly comfortable with high-quality bedding. The bathroom in our room had a tub and a shower with a rain shower-head and great water pressure. The breakfast was pleasant with delicious fresh bread, croissants, fruit, yogurt, cheeses, cold cuts, scrambled eggs and multiple beverage options. The service was very friendly.

Personnel accueillant et serviable, les propriétaires sont sur place et s’occupent des clients. Le petit déjeuner non inclus est très bien et vaut le prix demandé. Pas d’ascenseur mais les proprio vous offrent de monter les bagages lourds aux étages à l’aide d’un treuil. Stationnement sécurisé disponible pour 15 euros par jour.

- Dean (10/5): - On-site parking which is hard to find in Fountainbleu. Hotel is literally across the street from the front gate to Chateaux Fountainenleu. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and professional. They serve a very nice breakfast in the morning. Restaurant is not open for lunch or dinner, but there are dozens of good restaurants within a quarter mile walking distance. Hotel was extremely clean and has the charm of an historic building. 10 out of 10 !!

- Margaretta (10/5): - This charming small hotel was perfect for our needs. We had a beautiful, quiet room overlooking the Chateau; the bathroom was huge and lovely. The staff on site were all very attentive and helpful, booking us into a restaurant that was probably one of the best I've been to on our trip ( L'air du Temps--highly recommended, and not crazy expensive). We probably could have done this as a day trip from Paris but it was delightful to spend two days here in utter comfort.

The welcome was warm and efficient, our room being ready before the usual check in time. Our room looked into an internal courtyard, was of a good size with a very comfortable double bed. The bathroom had a wonderful shower. We did not have breakfast on this stay. Would stay again with pleasure

Why condition got only a good and not excellent rating: bathrooms are nicely refurbished/upgraded but shower type/faucet is fairly old style. For people with mobility issues: be aware there is no elevator. Would I stay there again? Anytime! Highly recommend

- Thomas (10/5): Highly Recommend! Right near Chateau! - Fantastic. They were super nice, and the staff spoke perfect English and knew Fontainebleau very well! Their cat was super cute as well, but it didn’t go anywhere near people’s rooms. Super nice old French place. I believe the man said the building dates to about 1600, but it has all the amenities of a modern hotel with all the old charm. And it’s literally across the street from the famous Chateau de Fontainebleau.

- Lore (10/5): Wonderful Stay - Absolutely lovely stay, wished we could have stayed long. Situated across from Fontainebleau and close to very good restaurants and shopping. The rooms are lovely, spacious, spotless, and very comfortable! The staff was always helpful, welcoming, and courteous! Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is 3rd generation and currently run by 2 family brothers. They do a wonderful job and I highly recommend!

We still missed the freshly baked croissants and lovely coffee. -The spacious room. What we did not like:- -No air condition so we have to keep window opened at night and the street noise from cars and buses was too loud including the garbage truck that came early in the morning. -The toiletries provided were limited.

- Elizabeth (10/5): Great hotel - We had a very relaxing stay. The hotel was very peaceful and calm but it was in the heart of Fontainebleau. The host was charming and the breakfast was delicious. We loved it and had a great time there. We got one of the least expensive rooms but it was very nice. The higher-end rooms have direct views of the Chateau.

- Soleranger (10/5): Comfortable hotel ideal for visiting Fontainebleau - The hotel is perfectly placed opposite Fontainebleau for making an early start and avoiding the crowds that build up during the day. (Allow two to three hours to do justice to it, then more to take in the lovely grounds beyond.) Ask for Room 11 if possible with a lovely view (attached) of the chateau -or more accurately a small part of it.
