Just a suggestion not really a complaint, but, hopefully with the new canopy addition in the courtyard the hotel can invest in additional tables and chairs so more guests can use the area at the same time as it is a great feature.

The hotel is by the way very well located and very cosy too. They also offer sustainable tourism activities! Please don't turn on the TV during the breakfast with this awful news show. Put on some documentaries about the work by CBC and partners.

• Soudabeh (2/5): Unpleasant. - The little backyard was lovely. The location was 8 minutes from the central square, which was great. Breakfast was good, and the kitchen staff was friendly. My room smelled like sewage; the smell was so strong that I had dry heaves when I first entered the room and almost every time I came back from a walk. I immediately went back to reception, informed them, and asked them if they could change my room and even offered to upgrade it, but they said they couldn't. My reservation was for eight nights, and I went on a two-day Machu Picchu tour the day after check-in, during which every time I remembered I had to go back to that room, I felt disgusted. I decided that I was going to send a complaint to their office, and if they didn't respond to change my room, I would leave and find another hotel. The day after my return from Machu Picchu, they offered to change my room. However, they changed my double room to a single room, but at least this one didn't smell, and I didn't hurl every time I entered the room. I have never been happier a hotel downgraded my reservation with no refund!!!! :( I think what should be clarified to some hotels is that when a customer is booking a 3-star, they accept that there are fewer amenities, fewer pleasantries, lower thread count sheets, and in general lower expectations; however, it being a 3-star hotel is not a pass for unclean rooms, unpleasant bed sheets and blankets, and most certainly not a pass to smelly rooms to the point that customer throws up every time they enter the room. Usually, when I ask people about their recommendation, my question is, "will you stay there again?". If you ask me that question, my answer is "absolutely NOT." I will never book this hotel or recommend it to my friends or family.

• harriettec2019 (2/5): Rude and inhospitable - there are better places to stay! - I stayed here for three nights with my brother and sister. We’d previously stayed in another hotel in Cusco which was lovely but decided for our final three nights to go somewhere a little more expensive with better ratings to recover after a four day hike. What a huge mistake that was! The staff in this hotel are the rudest I’ve ever encountered whilst travelling. Any ask was met with a roll of the eyes or a simple ‘no’ whilst the employee continued to watch videos on their phone. When we called down to reception for help the phone was put down on us multiple times. Rita was particularly unpleasant and became quite verbally aggressive with my sister when we asked to see our receipt which had our card details on. Not only was the service wholly unpleasant to the point we felt comfortable in the hotel, but the breakfast you pay an extra 10% for was abysmal. There was cereal without bowls and dry bread. On top of this, the cleaners come at 8am, regardless of whether you are checking out, so our hopes of r&r were truly thwarted! Avoid this hotel at all costs. There are far nicer places in Cusco and this hotel gives the city a bad name.

Eles são atrapalhados, ou seja, se você pedir para a pessoa de um turno, ele jamais vai passar essa informação para a pessoa do turno seguinte. Café terrivelmente forte. • Joseph (2/5): BUYER BEWARE!! - This hotel is a compete ripoff. I booked this hotel for a friend. When I went with them to check in, they said they did not get my reservation in time so the hotel was already fully booked. They instead sent us to another hotel around the corner which smelled like a sewer and was uninhabitable, not to mention the size of a shoe box and almost impossible to walk around the room. I went back to the hotel and gave them the key and requested a refund which they said was impossible. I requested the front desk person to call Expedia so I could talk to them and she refused. She also refused to provide her name and was very nasty. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.

• uprightM (8/5): Small from outside, big inside. - Looking from the street, it seems smaller than it actually is. Most of the building windows open towards a nice central garden. Except for some street facing rooms (that was my case, unfortunately), all the rest is very quiet. Beds are comfortable, hot shower has good pressure and flow and Wi-Fi is quite decent. It's centrally located, being easy to move around on foot - from San Pedro market to San Blas district. Breakfast has all we need to start off a day, from fresh fruits, yogurt, natural juices, cold and hot meals and some delicious local berries jams.
• cr71 (6/5): Confused - The hotel is nice, but they are so confused... I booked and already payed for 7 days at this place, but we have to change to the another hotel (at least, better). There are a girl who works at front desk so confused. She doesn't know how to give you the ritgh information. We were in 2 couples and one of us had to change a hotel 2 times. They gave to us a tour for make up the maistake, but the time for the tour changed twice and we gave up. The breakfast is, ok and the restaurant1s staff is very nice. I hope that they can get better for next travelers!

• alexmY4200SP (2/5): Pésimo hotel - La habitación que nos dieron no cerraba con seguro, por lo que la llave era un ridículo. Ahora reviso que tienen ese problema desde hace tiempo y no lo arreglan. En el hotel hay mucho ruido porque no hay aislamiento de sonido de la calle y TODO movimiento que hacen las personas en habitaciones cercanas (incluso caminando) se oye especialmente de noche. El desayuno muy básico. Si quieren un servicio de mala calidad y con costos escondidos este es el lugar (intentaron cobrarme el servicio de booking a pesar de que yo sé que eso no deben cargarnoslo a nosotros y cuando me quejé me dijeron que "yo no conocía el contrato que ellos tenían con booking. La señorita que atendía el día en que pagué fue descortés y malcriada). The lock did not work on the room they gave us, which is apparently a persistent problem they are too cheap to fix. You can hear a lot of noise all day and specially through the night, not just from the street but also from other tenants (every step they take and every door they open or ahit down). The breakfast and overall service is very basic. Also they have hidden costs they don't inform you about like a service fee, ansd they also tried to charge me 10% because i made the reservation by booking (booking doesn't charge us just so you know). I complained and the lady was very rude and told me I did not know the kind of contract they had with booking and refused to contact management. Stay away.

I wasted time trying to solve this issued and even contacted Expedia but this hotel chose to ignore any way of proof and insisted I owed them 5% for reserving from a different site and they said it was my fault.. yup they blamed me!

• vichayakosit (2/5): Small hostel, big room, terrible bathroom - The hostel entrance is very small, hard to find. Large room, not clean enough, and the shower is too old and smelly. Always very bad smell came out from toilet even I use spray and perfume. Not stay here again.

• Stefan (6/5): Preis / Leistung ok, aber nicht überragend - Die Sauberkeit des Zimmers lässt etwas zu wünschen übrig. Das Personal an der Rezeption spricht leider nur sehr wenig Englisch. Ein Problem mit dem auf dem Zimmer befindlichen (nicht funktionierenden) Safe war, aufgrund der Sprachbarriere, leider nicht zu klären. Allerdings ist unser Zimmer sehr günstig. Das lässt den ein oder andere über die oben genannten Probleme vielleicht hinweg sehen.

I planned to stay here after completing the Salkantay trek, and arrived exhausted, smelly and dirty after four days of hiking only to be told that, despite having a reservation, they had given all the rooms away. I was left to figure something else out in the middle of the night in Cusco. Not the best I've ever been treated by hotel staff.

Em um local bem localizado, pois está próximo da área turística que de pra ir andando mas não tão no meio que seja inconveniente, então é numa área tranquila. O café da manhã é bem simples mas cumpre seu papel. No meio da hospedagem tem um jardim bem gostoso!
• Sara (8/5): Dugligt hotell - Vår bokning hade försvunnit när vi skulle checka in, så det strulade lite, men de löste så att vi fick ett rum till slut. Rummet var ytterst litet och det var trångt att få plats med våra backpacker-väskor och handbagage i rummet (!). Rummet var väldigt kallt, men elelement fanns att tillgå. Litet badrum med dusch, dugligt. Hotellet duger för övernattning i några nätter, men ingen längre vistelse. Hotellfrukosten var en liten buffé, med standardfrukost såsom söt yoghurt, te, kaffe, bröd, marmelad, äggröra. Är i det stora hela nöjd med vistelsen. Vi hade inte förväntat oss någon lyx, men kanske lite bättre standard och större rum trots allt.
• Klaus (10/5): Hübsches Hotel mit Hinterhof zum Entspannen - Wir haben 3 Nächte im Hotel verbracht. Alle Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer hatte auch einen Heizkörper. Die Duschbrause war super. Die Anlage ist sauber und gepflegt. Das Hotel ist zentrumsnah und in 10 min. zu Fuß erreichbar.
• KristinaO1982 (2/5): Awful - First of all this hotel seemed pretty great for the value...until it rained. My husband and I woke up at 4 am with water pouring from the ceiling on to our bed. We immediately called the front desk who replied "yeah well its raining bad." And recommended we "move our bed" because the hotel was full. No offer of clean bedding or any other remedy. Apparently it's a thing that just happens. It would explain the mold happening on the ceiling. I was quite worried the ceiling was going to fall on us in the middle of the night! Also very loud. Walls are paper thin. If you sleep on the street side good luck! Terrible service!

Então na hora de dormir teve muito barulho por conta do piso de madeira antigo de dentro e de fora dos cômodos. Na segunda noite, já havíamos trocado de quarto e tudo mudou, ficou silêncioso e o quarto bem espaçoso.Funcionários sempre atenciosos e cordiais! Eu recomendo. O café da manhã é bem fraco!

• Samuel (10/5): The best hotel service - The location of the hotel is very close to train station (<10 minutes walk). It is also right next to the two major Inca tourist sites. The service provided by the hotel staff was excellent. She helps me to arrange the taxi service and the few of the key sites that I should visit on the way from Ollantaytambo to Cusco.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Esta cerca a la Plaza de Armas y del Qorikancha. Es impecable, habitaciones comodas, buen desayuno y atencion amable. El precio esta bien. Lo recomiendo. Tiene un bonito patio con arboles y mesitas cerca al area del desayuno. El desayuno es bastante completo con bebidas calientes y jugos, fruta granola yogurt panes huevos quesos jamones aceitunas... Agua caliente, secadora de pelo para solicitar igual q calefaccion.
• Leandro (8/5): Ficaria novamente - Hotel muito agradável a uma curta caminhada da Plaza de Armas. Escolhemos assim para sair do barulho. Chuveiro muito quente e com volume de água. Podia estar melhor limpo. O café da manhã também podia ser aperfeiçoado, mas é decente. Tem sucos, frutas, pão e eles fazem ovos. O staff foi bastante antencioso também. E eles ficaram com parte das nossas coisas e providenciaram um café para levar para iniciarmos a trilha Salkantay.
• KaddyT1 (10/5): Quiet with beautiful garden - We had a total four nights in La Casa de Fray Bartolome. We arrived one day before we set off to Machu Picchu. The front desk could arrange taxi service with very fair rate from the hotel to Ollantaytambo Station where you could get your train ride to Machu Picchu. We kept some of our luggages in the hotel and stayed 3 more nights after we returned back to Cusco. The hotel is located on a quiet street, about 10 mins walking distance to Plaza de Armas (the main plaza) in Cusco. The wifi worked fine in the first 3 days, but there was a day that completely not working! The breakfast was terrific, a wide selection with A very nice garden view where you can also have your breakfast there.
• PTASSAF (8/5): Perfect for a short stay in cusco - Friendly and kind staff Amazing breakfast Excellent location Beautiful colonial house Big rooms The only bad thing of this place is the noise of the street, it's not easy to rest with all the taxis passing by and honking their horns
• Sue (6/5): Living the dream in Cusco - Cusco is an amazing place to visit. The hotel was once nice but now in poor condition. It's shabby appearance could be made so much better by brighter lighting, a coat of paint and a little love. That said it was clean and comfortable.

• joy_lafferty (8/5): Clean, warm water, comfortable - Wonderful hot water in the shower, a heater in the room to warm up the space, Cusco can be really cold at night, close to the historical centre for sightseeing and shopping, very friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast was provided and offered a nice variety of fresh fruit along with other breakfast foods. I would recommend this hotel and return to it if Im ever in Cusco again.
