Guest Reviews
- Densmore (10/5): -
- Patrick (10/5): Comfortable Bed and breakfast in an ideal location. - Comfortable sizeable room with ensuite in a period home with welcoming host and a breakfast that sets you up for the day. Loved sitting on the porch and the location is perfect for Cumberland Island ferry and local restaurants. Parking is virtually on the doorstep and easy access. Also loved the little welcoming extras to eat and drink. Being English, we were delighted to have a cup of tea and some of the traditional decor was familiar. Really difficult to criticise, but sometimes we were confused at whether breakfast was completed as other items were mentioned but did not receive eg cereal and orange juice, but loved the setting where there is an option to chat to other guests.
- Ray (10/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): This was the most relaxing visit and stay that I have had in decades. - I loved the property. It is located in a great location and within walking distance to the Cumberland Ferry and all the local restaurants. Not Applicable. The room was great, and the breakfast at this bed-and-breakfast was exceptional.
- JUANITA (10/5): 1st time in a b&b and it was a great experience. Love Marjda and all the new people we met. - Breakfast was fantastic. I am normally not a breakfast person but after the first breakfast I was actually looking forward to breakfast the next day. n/a

- janice (8/5): We had a great time and we were very comfortable. - Marja was the perfect hostess. Lovely refreshments, very homey, delicious breakfast. It is a lovely home in a perfect location where you can walk to shops and restaurants. The bathroom is a little outdated but very sufficient.
- Brooks (10/5): We are coming back in June and will definitely stay here - It felt like home Nothing
- Hanspeter (10/5): If you want a true Southern mansion to complete your trip, Good House Bed and Breakfast is the one. - This lovely downtown B&B was absolutely beautiful and atmosphere was perfect for the location. We had the Gone with the Wind king room. I felt Rhett and Scarlet's presence with all the beautiful decor. Lovely southern home for sure. Breakfast was awesome. Nothing....perfect as it is.
- Ryan (10/5): One lovely night in St Mary's - The home and host were both so welcoming. The Inn was very cozy. We loved sitting on the decks, strolling the town, and enjoying the complementary wine as well as breakfast at the inn. Those were the best pancakes I've ever had. Nothing, it was all perfect
- Terry (10/5): Excellent location, great owner and nice old home. And the breakfast was great. - The owner was so sweet. Nothing
- Amy T (7/5): Great gateway to Cumberland Island! - The hostess was outstanding. She was a great communicator, including encouraging us to get tickets for the Cumberland Island ferry in advance of departure date. She suggested it and then did it for us! Breakfasts were good. The upstairs porch is lovely. People have differing preferences in decor. The rooms were themed, and there was lots of decorative material and wall art to support the themes. Our room was Kings of the Round Table (Lancelot and Genevieve). There was a standing knight's armor, five feet tall, in the bedroom. For me, the clutter was too much and it affected my enjoyment of the space and the stay.

- Kenneth (10/5): Best Inn in all of St Marys - Excellent experience staying here, the owner host was exceptional! Food and company was great. The bed & breakfast Inn is amazing, and being an architect myself the historical Inn was so much fun to visit, the decorating is over the top, and the period furnishings just added to the entire ambience. Had a great time and will return soon bringing my friend this time. Nothing, was a perfect stay
- Hood (10/5): - We had Great Breakfast .Great place to stay and everyone was so friendly .Enjoyed everything!
- Bill MISKELL (10/5): The BEST - A truly fabulous BnB. Very high quality in EVERY aspect. I have stayed in at least a hundred BnBs and AirBnBs. Goodbread House is easily THE BEST. See comment above... What I Liked.

- Stephanie (10/5): -
- Tracey (10/5): - Perfect location for our stay
- Eva (10/5): -
- Cathy (10/5): - We had a wonderful two days sightseeing and enjoying one of our favorite towns. We loved our stay at the Good goodbread House. The owner Marja makes you feel at home the minute you walk through the door. We enjoyed meeting new friends and wine on the large veranda in the evenings. Marja is a wonderful chef and provided a gourmet breakfast every morning. Cannot wait to go back. Nothing
- Kay (10/5): - What a beautiful and historic bed-and-breakfast, so beautifully decorated! And the breakfast was lovely and the host extremely kind and helpful and hospitable.
- Joann (10/5): Beautiful accommodation. St Marys is a gorgeous and friendly town. - We had a lovely time. We were greeted warmly by the owner/innkeeper who was charming and helpful. The house is lovely and we totally felt comfortable. Honestly I have nothing to say.
- melinda (10/5): Welcome to Southern Hospitality and Comfort at this delightful and very clean Bed & Breakfast home. - Location in the village. Very good Pizza restaurant across the street. Nice bookstore right next store.
Beautiful antique decor. Big comfortable king size bed. Cozy dining room with beautiful table settings on each table.
Nice Refreshments served in the sitting room. Delicious cookies, nuts, and beverages.
Good breakfast served. Wonderful coffee.
There was a lot of attention paid to every detail. Very clean.
The Owner was very helpful and delightful. Nothing!
- Alisa D (10/5): Wonderful host and would stay there again if I pass by again in the future! - I found the property welcoming. Fun names for the rooms and spacious.
- Abel (10/5): - Excelente
- Kayla (10/5): - Great experience! The owner was super nice and very accommodating for the kids.
- Simona (9/5): -
- Mary C (10/5): - This is the most beautiful and unique B and B we have stayed at. Our room was amazing. So much space and gorgeous decor. The homemade breakfast was delicious. Perfect location. We will definitely return!
- Valerie (10/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): Lovely relaxing bed and breakfast in small town coastal Georgia. - Location was perfect! Easy walking to restaurants and the Cumberland ferry. Breakfast was delicious and I was able to have a vegetarian option. Coffee and treats (fresh baked cookies!) available throughout the day and complimentary wine in the evening. The rooms are large and comfortable, each with a famous couple theme. Will definitely stay here again. Also conveniently located next to a bookstore!🙂
- Gilda (10/5): Historic Inn with a personable host and comfortable rooms in a great location - Beautiful and historic property with a wonderful host (Marja) who took the time to explain everything and be super helpful getting us lunch before our island trip. Would definitely recommend it. The rooms are very comfortable with large bathrooms and she offers a happy hour and delicious breakfast. I liked it all. If you don't like the sort of traditional, old world vibe, there are not a lot of options in Historic St. Marys
- Heidi (10/5): -
- Renee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at the Goodbread Inn. We were in the Gable and Lombard suite, which was very unique jyst like the entire B&B. The hostess Mardja was wonderful. We loved the surrounding area of St. Mary's as well.
- Alyson (10/5): Go relax at the Goodbread House. - We had a wonderful time at the Goodbread House. This was our first Bed and Breakfast and we loved the experience. The house is historic and charming and the host offer a center je ne sais quoi to the entire experience. When you go say hi to Mardja for us. We will return.
- Marcia (8/5): - A very charming B&B, exactly as described and pictured. The proprietor has additional staff as she should so we did not see much of her. For reference, breakfast was delicious each morning we were served a plate with different items: the first morning a berry parfait, a small frittata and a slice of squash bread. The second morning a blueberry bread pudding, two small patty sausages and grapes. Orange juice was offered as well as tea and coffee. It is an old house and as might be expected the temperature is difficult to control precisely. Our only issue was that both nights (in late June) we were quite cold. So be warned to not assume that your lightest bedclothes will keep you warm enough.
- Elizabeth (7/5): Good -
- Vicki (10/5): - Always a great place to stay when passing through, Marja is always a gracious host and serves “plenty” for breakfast. Check her out.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Amazing place - Everything about Goodbread House is exceptional. Our room was eclectically decorated and welcoming. St. Marys has a great small-town, relaxed atmosphere; all you need is walkable from the Goodbread. We'll be back for the breakfast which was delicious and different each morning. Not to mention complimentary cookies, fruit, and wine in the afternoon! Amazing place with a special thanks to Mardja who is the creative force, Chef and baker who makes it so wonderful. There isn't anything we didn't like.
- Brooklynn (10/5): - Absolutely loved the place! We are definitely going back!
- Channing (10/5): - Had the best time at Goodbread!
- Garrison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julee (10/5): Stay here! - Great property
- Julee (10/5): Exceptional - We highly recommend staying at the Goodbread house. We loved the Lombard room. Madja the owner is wonderful.
- Laurie (9/5): Great location, welcoming host and happy hour! - Breakfast was over the top! Very fresh, well presented and tasty. She accommodated us upstairs on the beautiful porch. Couldn't have been better!
- virginia (10/5): - This is our third time staying here! Owner is delightful and goes to every effort to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast is beautifully prepared. You can walk to the Cumberland Island ferry and to restaurants. Owner will facilitate a purchase of lunch to take on the ferry. The house is done in a victorian style. Nice front porch for relaxing.

- Sherri (10/5): Charming B and B in St Mary’s - The house is charming, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The staff, especially Marja and Jamie were amazingly friendly and welcoming I can’t think of anything
- Kristin (10/5): Overnight stay. - The house was lovely and very walkable. It was full of antiques, which are pretty to look at but not very comfortable to use. The bed in the Lancelot room was very mushy and sagged in the middle. The bathroom was huge and comfortable. The upstairs porch was lovely. Breakfast was very tasty. I would stay here again, in a different room.
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bruce (7/5): Good -
- Yongqi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristen (10/5): Wonderful lodging and meal - Beautiful home and gracious staff. Excellent breakfast, quiet, super cute and holiday decorations plentiful yet tasteful. Great shower in Gable/Lombard room. Didn't seem like there was someone on-site 24/7, would prefer to not leave room key in empty lodging when departing. Could be a safety concern. Gable/Lombard bathroom could use a towel bar. Otherwise, excellent accommodations.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
