- Pauline (10/5): Absolutely great - Every single staff we had contact with were exceptionally kind, cheerful,
efficient went out of their way to help us.
Food we had was very good and always service with a smile.
The setting was amazing. Nothing comes to mind
- Patricia Ann (9/5): - Had a really nice stay with a fab view from our room. The staff were friendly and helpful and the club house was beautiful.
- Elizabeth Dent (9/5): Lovely place, food looked & smelled good but didn't have any, made a note for another time, - Spacious room with super king size bed, Tea, coffee with biscuits in the room also bottled water. comfortable bed and pillows. doors banging at 3am, when other people in the building returned after a night out.
Shower tray backing up and overflowing for the second person to use it. (ok for one person)

- Brian (10/5): - Lovely surroundings, charming helpful staff and a great room in the cottages
- mike (7/5): Pleasant - Golf course location - nice views Teeny tiny tele - in todays world a TV costs little and this would be an upgrade that I would strongly suggest
- alec (10/5): Excellent - The whole thing and the reception included nothing
- Simon (9/5): - Location wa perfect for what we needed, quiet and room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, freshly cooked and happy to make changes additions. Clear instructions' on where you need to go to check in, had to go to the bar in the main building but not clear where to go ion arrival, as it is a golf club primarily. But other than that no issues
- davenport (10/5): - Way better than expectations Could do with more lighting within the ground. I left early in the morning for work and it was very dark
- Prahaporn (6/5): Cosy - Cosy Too hot
- Rachel (10/5): Such a lovely experience. Felt looked after and could totally relax. - Absolutely everything. Beautiful location, lovely staff, very clean and lovely and warm. Everything we needed was provided. Great variety of hot drinks, bottled water, biscuits. Breakfast was lovely. Honestly can speak highly enough about this stay - and the price was very cheap for what we got and we got 20% off drinks from the bar aswell. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again Nothing at all. Loved it.
- Frances (9/5): Green oasis amid highly densely urban/industrial area - A real chance to eat in a yeoman's house of 17Century that is little changed in historic character Heating balance a challenge... need secondary glazing to reduce heat loss and costs
- Josephine (8/5): -
- Roger (10/5): A wonderful place to visit or stay . This is a wonderful stop overif ever there was , The veiw from our very comfortabl - Its location and comfort

- Lorraine (10/5): Very enjoyable and a lovely place to stay.staff were very helpful. - The property was quiet and extremely comfortable. We arrived in the dark and the driveway to the rooms was not very well sign posted.
- Em (10/5): -
- Rita (9/5): Perfect breakaway - The setting is stunning. The accommodation, the staff, the food, the restaurant, and the bar were all just beautiful. I would highly recommend it for a short break. There was nothing I didn't like. It was a perfect breakaway.
- Bernard Michael (7/5): Room just about ok, staff very helpful, shame the bar closed very early . - Breakfast was excellent. Room was very clean. Single beds were very small. Bathroom lacked toiletries and room was noisy from other guests arriving/leaving.
- Martin (8/5): Great accommodation on fantastic location - Fantastic location. Both mattresses on the beds were soaking wet and we only discovered this after our return late at night.
The matter was quickly resolved & we were given a complimentary breakfast.
- elaine (10/5): -
- Robert (10/5): -
- Chambers (9/5): - Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice, as was the location. I would recommend and stay again. The breakfast was ok, but the only disappointment was that I didn't bring my clubs...
- June (10/5): A great location at the heart of a beautiful golf course. - Beautiful setting and very comfortable room. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Had a problem with the internet connection in the bedroom. The problem wasn’t resolved for the duration of our stay but we could access the internet in the clubhouse so not a major issue.
- Stephen (5/5): Unfortunately the room was not fit for occupation - Breakfast was fine and location splendid Room had live bees inside the room . There was a warning to advise us not to open the windows . We didn’t open and there were live bees inside the room . Some attempt had been made to spray the room but obviously insufficient to control the problem .
- Kim (10/5): Great - Clean and good size rooms. Great location
- enez (6/5): - The room was cleaned although the site said that it would be cleaned everyday.
The shower had a leak and water ran out of the shower across the bathroom floor.
There was a shared fridge downstairs no plates or cutlery that would have been useful.
- ASH (9/5): A lovely place for a getaway with good food and to explore the surrounding area. - The food on offer at the location was good. The breakfast was amazing and reasonably priced. It's a beautiful place to stay with stunning views from the golf club. You have use of the bar and restaurant in the golf club.
The room was very nice, clean, comfortable and spacious.
Parking is next to the accommodation.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. As the accommodation are rooms in the same cottage it can be quite noisy.
Being on a golf course we were awoken at 6am by the gardener cutting the grass on the course.
That said I would go back.
- Welch (8/5): Woodsome hall, cottage on the course - Beautiful location on a golf course. Historic hall with bar, food available during the day, evening. Excellent breakfast.
Friendly staff, excellent service. B&B accomodation comfortable and clean. Large bed and good shower. Well stocked tea, coffee tray. Small seating area and fridge on ground floor. Lovely view from bedroom window of the course and lake.
Free parking outside of accomodation. Didn't like the pillows, one thick and hard, second thin and soft.
One bed side table and lamp only. Had to get out of bed to turn main light off. Only a shaving mirror on the dressing table, not ideal when using hairdryer.
Would have preferred a pot of tea with breakfast, not a dispenser.
- Michael (9/5): Wonderful experience, a dream come true - Beautiful
Classy and very welcoming
A golfers paradise
- Valentin (7/5): - Friendly staff. Great breakfast Check in confusing. Would be good to add instructions where to park and go. Short window for checking in although managed to agree different timing.
Confusing communication after booking. We were given a choice of check in times during booking, then to be told our choice was denied, but also someone saying they had retired and asking us to contact the venue directly. Venue difficult to contact. Multiple calls went unanswered. Finally someone came back to us on booking.com but it shouldn't have been that stressful. Could do better on that side. Otherwise it was a good stay.
- Victoria (3/5): Nice surroundings, good rooms but very disappointing customer service - The hall is a historic building and has a lot of character. The surroundings were beautiful. The annex accommodations were a good standard and very comfortable with good facilities in the room. The reception welcome was non existent, the staff ignored us. I had to ask twice for someone to attend to us and check us in.
The next morning we attempted to get breakfast and were told because we hadn’t booked they couldn’t accommodate us for a full breakfast. Staff were unhelpful and I would never stay at this place again.
- James (9/5): -
- Sharon (10/5): Lovely relaxing break - Beautiful setting Lovely staff Tasty breakfast Nothing
- Greg (9/5): -
- miles (10/5): - Good
- Aimee (8/5): -
- Martin (10/5): Lovely but book breakfast if you think you'll want it. - The room was great, bathroom lovely, view from room amazing.
Location was stunning. Didn't book with breakfast, was told we could get it in the morning but when we came to breakfast, despite a room laid out for it we were only offered a poor bacon roll and something similar.
That was our only disappointment on an otherwise excellent stay.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Chhitij (8/5): Very good - Everything No signpost for the hotel
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valerie (10/5): An enjoyable stay - Very comfortable. The room lacked a bedside table on one side and a second chair would have been useful.
- Susan (10/5): - Beautiful setting and rooms. Very reasonably priced
- Stacia (9/5): Will return. - Quirky little cottage in stunning surroundings. Did not know where to check in. Maybe signpost a little more.
- David (8/5): Very nice - Breakfast was nice. Location not bad. I was dropped off in a taxi after a concert at 12.40 am and had to walk from the main gate to my room in pretty much darkness.
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional - In such beautiful grounds, and fantastic accommodation. There was nothing to like
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous locatio
- Piaskowski (9/5): Lovely - The location, views and buildings The quietness
- Stacey (10/5): - Great location and fabulous room for an amazing price
- Alexander (9/5): Just an incredibly pleasant stay. - Really helpful staff, even the patrons of the golf course were super helpful, just a warm and generous atmosphere.
Breakfast was fantastic value. I’m used to paying upwards of 20 quid for a full English in a hotel, this was a great breakfast including buffet cereal, pastries and coffee/tea for less than 15. All in an idyllic stately home setting. Amazing!
- Serhat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (9/5): very enjoyable stay and would recommend this for any length of stay - Beautiful location overlooking the golf course. Comfortable, clean accommodation with friendly and helpful staff.
- Freddie (10/5): Exceptional - The photos don’t do the property and grounds justice. The rooms from the dormy house look over the pond for a spectacular view.
- Carl (3/5): Poor - Fabulous location Booked double bed and ground floor. On arrival we were given an upstairs room and twin beds!!
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dale (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deirdre (8/5): Very good -
- Wright (8/5): Very good - Room great Staff didn't know what was going on
- Charlotte (9/5): Superb -
- Aaron (8/5): Very good - Great setting , very relaxing and a comfortable stay . I would stay again
- Judith (9/5): Great place to stay - Lovely location and pleasant room but difficult to navigate the site. More signage to reception needed. Unfortunately breakfast was not available and it would have helped if we had known that before our stay..
- Graham (9/5): Superb - Vehicle parking close proximity to accommodation.
- Elizabeth (7/5): Peaceful but quite isolated, excellent location for us. Very comfortable stay. - No breakfast included
Lovely big towels
coat hooks
Peaceful No soap in the dispensing bottles
- Charles (8/5): Very good - great ambience in a stunning historic building bed was too short for
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Fantastic place to stay and get some peace and relaxation
- Gaynor (9/5): Superb -
- Virginia (9/5): Beautiful location, wonderful views, good room. - Excellent breakfast, beautiful panelled room gave great atmosphere. Very Wolf Hall… All the staff welcoming and friendly. Could have had a bath mat. Difficult to find the entrance to check in, especially in the dark
- Graham (8/5): Great stay as always but service standards slipping. - Regular visitor. Location perfect for us. Lovely environment and excellent rooms. High standards of cleanliness. Dropped attention to detail a little this visit. Broken lightbulb in room, very hard pillows and no choice, ran out of toilet paper and no spare, no ‘normal’ tea bags. Juices not replenished during breakfast service so went without.
- Amanda (5/5): Spoilt by lack of facilities (breakfast not available until midday as winter hours were being observed - Quiet place in lovely setting.
Great if you play golf but it was snowing so we wouldn’t have been able to, even if we wanted! Lack of facilities in main building
No staff there so no breakfast available
Check in time very restricted
Nobody about felt like the place was deserted
- S (8/5): Very good -
- Lesley (6/5): Accommodation great, restaurant not - Room and facilities really good Breakfast…. Went to breakfast this morning and no table available. No staff available to ask. This was very poor. Other people in restaurant said that it was the same yesterday. Was not happy as we had a long drive ahead.
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb -
- Iain (8/5): Very good -
- Carl (8/5): Very good -
- John (9/5): Private and beautiful views - The breakfast
Was peaceful The bar closed at 7am, a little earlier than the times given, but not a big problem
- Rachel (8/5): One night stay. - The rooms were clean and comfortable and warm.
Nice big walk in shower. The bedside lamp didn't work and there wasn't a card with wifi password in room.
- Paul (9/5): Tranquil stay - Very quiet spot whether you like golf or not amazing views and scenery. Staff always very polite and happy to go out of their way to help Bedside light wasn’t working and no food available at 7:30 at night
- Brian (7/5): Good -
- Josu (9/5): Pleasant stay in quite surrounding. - Great location in very quite surroundings and we were allowed to use the Golf Club facilities for lunch. Very pleasant experience. Will definitely come back Nothing in particular
